What a wonderful resort!!!!!

The hotel was exceptionally clean The workers really take pride in there jobs from the grounds keepers,Maids,The Entertainment Teams,The servers from Breakfast to Lunch Dinner at the Buffet warm wonderful staff The El la Cartes were Mmm Good Great service All the food was delicious tasteful

Beautiful Barcelo Colonial

This is at the top of our list of amazing resorts. The hotel is beautiful with everything you would want or need. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Pools are huge and an amazing pool area for kids.

Absolutely breathtaking resort!!

The service was great....right from the bus that brought us to the resort from the airport, to the check in, to the food,to the amenities....everything was top grade. Personally, I do have a problem with the language differences. It is my opinion that since Barcello has so many English speaking guests, they should put more effort and attention to teaching their staff to speak that language. Awesome!!!

We just returned from the Barcelo Maya Colonial resort and had an amazing week. The rooms are very clean, the food is wonderful and the pool area is huge. There is a wonderful kids pool as well. The beach is beautiful and although rocky in spots, you can find areas that are not rocky. You can also snorkel right from the beach. You also NEVER have to fight for a lounge chair at the beach or the pool which is so nice. The staff is lovely and helpful and the amenities are good. Great Resort!!

The grounds were beautiful. Very well maintained. Family suite had tons of space. Lots of pools with lots of bars and places to eats. We loved the buffet. Probably the best buffet we've had at a resort. Lots of activities to do around the grounds. The gym was beautiful and the spa was excellent. We'd go back but with the kids next time!

Amazing resort!

Had the best week ever at Barcelo! Definitely the biggest resort I’ve ever stayed at. The food was amazing, drinks were great, staff was friendly. My friend got married at the Barcelo palace and it was stunning!! Only complaint would be that the rooms smell so musty but that’s hard to control because it’s so humid and the one lady at guest services was very rude!! We were booking our a la cart dinners and she wasn’t very helpful or friendly.

Great resort!

We went for a wedding and absolutely loved it! Beautiful scenery, beautiful location, nice staff, good food and a decent beach. They claimed to offer free wi fi and throw was not the case. And the beach was a bit rocky.

Don't go here.

There were very few people who could speak English. Too bad if you had an issue no one understood what you wanted. Face wash clothes were not provided even when you asked for one. Specialty restaurants were excellent but the buffet did not meet our expectations. There is no restaurant that serves breakfast other than buffet.

Best Resort I've been to!!!!!

Everything was perfect, from the option plus flight to the hotel. Our room was great with a nice view, cleaned and restocked every day, the pools and the beach were amazing and beautiful. The food and service was excellent. We had the time of our lives and would love to go back :)

Great resort!

3rd visit to the hotel. Each time was great. Food is great, and so is all the wait/bar staff. Making dinner reservations was disappointing this time. Only managed to get 3, and had to pay for 1. But it was worth the $20. Found to pool water a bit chilly this visit.

More complaints from guests at reception than there were people checking in

Whilr the grounds are tasteful and well maintained, the service has to be the worst that I've ever encountered in any resort. We were forced to change rooms three times. Upon check in, we were provided a room on the 3rd (top) floor and every morning at 7:30, heavy hammering would start in the roof. Despite complaints, the noise continued until we were moved to a roof, where I literally felt ill. It was so damp and humid & the stale stench of mould in the bathroom made me want to leave the [... read more] resort and forfeit my wasted money and remainder of time at this disastrous place. We booked a massage for the 2 of us and upon arriving at the spa, there was only space for 1 of us. About 4 days into the trip at this "all inclusive", we found out that we were being charged $25 per person for room-service breakfast. The above is only the tip of the iceberg and based on the hundreds of guests that I saw each day at reception complaining about their stay, I would recommend that looking at another resort would be advisable.

Beautiful Resort!

We had such a wonderful experience during our stay at the Barcelo. The resort is absolutely beautiful, and very well kept. The workers are so friendly and helpful. There is always something to do, and the food is terrific. Such care is taken into the display in the buffets, and the restaurants are top notch. Loved it!!!

The hotel was beautiful the people friendly and the food delicious the beach also wonderful. I'm so so so impressed. There is always food available and of course drinks made to order. Our favorite eating area was actually the Mariachi Grill.. The staff there were the nicest at the whole resort! Look for Onisome, he is the manager and an amazing person. I extremely recommend this fantastic place!!!

Barcelo Colonial reseort

We were at the Colonial the week before Christmass 2017. The Barcelo is a superb resort. It is excelent except for the rooms that were allocated to us. We are grandparent accompanying a family. We were given two connected rooms on the ground floor. These rooms were so humid that they were smelling mold. Not acceptable, especially for a baby and young children. Very nice resort

From the flight with Air Transat to and from was on time and we had the Option Plus , so we had something to eat , wine and chocolate bar and blanket ,neck rest and special line to check in and extra baggage allowed. Quick friendly check in The Barceló Colonial Jalisco Bldg. Are room was close to the beach. Great maid service and fridge replacement service 5 * Cleanliness on Resort 5* Buffet at Colonial 4* Buffet in evening at Caribe and Maya Beach are new and enclosed now with  [... read more]A/C 5* appearance( but food 3.5 * ) food cold on 2 occasions and overcrowded because they shut down half of the area. We stayed 2 weeks had Distinctive Group and had 10 A La Carts. Atmosphere compared to anyplace where we live is a 5*. Maybe we were lucky but I enjoyed every A La Carte. We had to cancel dessert on 2 occasions because I was so full. Very nice updates We went to Barceló Palace Supper Buffet . Food was better than the other buffets. Beach is one of the best in the area on Maya beach side. They are trying to cater to people. They had pool side service and sometimes beach service for drinks. Entertainment on Colonial section is hit and miss Great, M. Jackson Show and Circus , Fantasia Show.Maybe they could have some daytime entertainment . They have extra things to do at an extra charge, bowling, surf rider,casino, premium alcohol. But its there if you want it , we did not this time , Maybe next time. I think the Barceló continues to keep up with the consumers demands., you get what you pay for . Overall a 5* experience . We came home a little spoilt and heavier. A Great Vacation!

Truly amazing resort and staff

Outstanding facility, staff, grounds and service. The entire place is spotless and well maintained. The staff are efficient and friendly and work tirelessly to make your stay a memorable experience. This was my first trip and I'm already looking to go back with all the grandkids. There is so much to do and see, we didn't even leave the resort grounds.

We just came back from our trip to Mexico. To tell you the truth we didn't like much our vacations. The beach has a lot or rocks and a lot of waives, we couldn't swim with the babies. The buffet was way to far from our suite and was impossible to walk with the babies 3 times per day because it was too hot. But the most important thing was that I was looking to go to a nice beach that I can swim with the babies and this time I couldn't do it. That was very bad. My friends and husband are very disappointed as well.

Money well spent

1. This is a couples resort. Not for singles wanting to party. 2. The wifi was free for a few hrs in morning and afternoon. 3. The beach shore was rocky. Other than that, excellent ...service.food..etc

Amazing resort

The hotel was great !!! Customer service was amazing and the people are very kind and nice. My only issue was with agency, there were some bad communication regarding room. The agency didn't communicate the issue with the people in the room so it was an issue the day we came to the resort,but thanks to barcelo resort that manage to help and found a solution.
