Great time was had by all.
the hotel renovations were well managed and did not affect the stay at all.

Great stay, amazing time!
Excellent stay, loved the rooms and hotel amenities. We all had a great time! Hotel gave us two connecting rooms as requested, this helped us to manage 3 kids as well as give us our own personal space!

Huge resort
Beach was great. Very clear water and you can see small fish. Pool was nice and big too. Hotel is beautiful like a large castle. Very clean. Free WiFi in the lobby. Food is good. There is a buffet, 4 restaurants, and a snack bar. Lots of activities throughout the day if you are interested in that, and some nightly shows. The casino is mostly electronic games, very cheap to play. Disco and kareoke bar opens at 10 pm, but I never went to them

Amazing Resort
Had an amazing stay at Grand Bahia last week. The facilities were nice and clean. The staff were great friendly and always tends to your needs. The beach was beautiful, white sand beach, clear blue water with a reef close by the swimming area. I wish we could have stayed longer and we would definitely come back to this beautiful place. Feels like home away from home.

Resort review
Food at this resort was excellent, fresh wide variety & great service by all the staff. The room's beds were comfortable. Being on the first floor , we could hear all that went on in the hallway ,on the ceramic tile & people talking loud, dragging their luggage was amplified late at night.
We would return , nice beaches & water

Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica - Sept 2019
My boyfriend and I stayed here from Sept 2-9, 2019. This hotel was good in a lot of aspects including the food (although as many all-inclusives do, the buffet got quite repetitive - and we only stayed a week). The al a cartes were pretty good, but I wish they had a restaurant dedicated to more authentic Jamaican food. The hotel isn't really near anything that you could walk to to try some good jerk chicken or peppered shrimp, so I was hoping that there would be access to this stuff on the resort[... read more]. Another great aspect of the hotel was the pools and the entertainment. Although we missed out on the entertainment the first few nights that we were there because of how large the grounds are, the performances that we did see were great. The beaches were just alright. They were not that nice sandy beach that you were looking for, as once you got into the water the ground was very rocky and not comfortable to stand on in bare feet and it explained why a lot of people were wearing water shoes. The main beach there is pretty far from any bars, so if you're a drinker, I would definitely recommend grabbing more than one drink for you trek back to the beach. The staff was great. Specifically Kenroy at the omelette station in the morning - miss him already! Overall, there are a few things that need improvement but I would come back to this resort again.

Wonderful Vacation
We had a great stay at the Grand Bahia. It was our third time going and I wouldn’t hesitate to go again. Our pool is our favourite place to hang out while we are there during the day. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great Resort
For the most part, I was extremely pleased with this resort. I will try to cover as many points that would cross a potential guests mind.
*WEATHER*
The first thing I will touch up on was our first major concern which was WEATHER. Because of the time we booked our trip, we were extremely concerned with what to expect. (We googled how their seasons work after booking LOL) We were there for the very end of August until the very beginning of September; This time is known as their stormy weather [... read more]/ hurricane season. Before leaving we were monitoring the Montego Weather and it was predicted to rain and thunder 5/5 days. For the 5 days we were there it rained TWICE and ONLY during the evenings. The afternoons were never disturbed by rain or clouds.
*STAFF *
The staff were extremely warm and welcoming. The check in/check out process was quick and easy. We deactivated our hotel cards twice and, on both occasions, they were fast and happy to respond. (The cards are magnetic so they can't be close to phones)
*FOOD*
The and the food was delicious! As a Vegan, I was beyond pleased with the variety of options available at the buffets. There were new themes and options every day! The staff working at the buffet were knowledgeable and helpful with addressing my concerns.
The French restaurant was my favourite option out of the two restaurants we were able to reserve. We threw the Chef a curveball with my “egg, dairy and all meats allergies†but boy did he delivered! He even came out to serve and explain the dish.
So, whether you have dietary restrictions or not, you will be pleased with the food!
*BEACH*
There wasn't a HUGE stretch of shore/beach area but still a good enough! There were ropes dividing the areas you are not permitted to swim in. They do enforce these rules and you will be called out and warned if you pass over (even at your own risk)
Do expect to have locals CONSTANTLY trying to sell you "Ganja" , fresh fruit and etc. It wasn't necessarily a bother to us as we weren't hesitant to say "No thank you" each time. They are not allowed to past a certain point at shore so you can always route yourself accordingly if you wish to avoid the conversation. I will advise you that the prices they ask for are ridiculous! We were charged 25 USD for a coconut and a mango.
The photos online do not do the Montego Bay water justice. It's colors and clearness were not captured in most images/videos we viewed prior to booking.
*RESORT*
The resort itself was quite large so you're forced to get a healthy amount of steps in per day. The pool areas were massive and maintained.
We were lucky to have a beach view from our balcony without paying any additional fees. Our room was quite nice with access to AC controls. I saw countless complaints regarding the AC and water not functioning as desired, but we had no issues with this whatsoever. In fact, we had to have our AC off during the night!
They drive around spraying the resort with some sort of smoke to keep away bugs. For the first time, we came back with ZERO bug bites so it actually works!
*FAMILY/ KID FRIENDLY*
This resort seemed VERY kid friendly. There were tons of kid activities happening during the afternoon. There’s a cute waterpark just be the beach with tons of water slides and what not for children.
The pools are shallow throughout. I believe its 4ft across as well as a small pool attached for toddlers. Although the pools had two pool bars, the environments remained PG and kid friendly from what we observed.
The buffet seemed to have great options for kids as well.
*CONS*
One of the few “dislikes†which is barely worth mentioning would be the carpet in the hotel hallways. Its outdated and stained. The other point that would be the major con would be the currency exchange. We converted out CAD to Jamaican money prior to arriving but ended up being forced into USD currency anyway. Our agent recommended we take a taxi from our resort to the airport because of how early the shuttle would be picking us up at. She assured us a taxi ride from our resort to the airport would be “10 bucks†at most. The Cheapest quote we received for a cab was $100 USD and that was through a local inquiry! The resort was quite a little way from the resort (about 1 hour 15 mins) so perhaps its not as outrageous as it sounds. We were just a little disappointed with the misinformation.
Overall, other than these minor insignificant “consâ€, it was a great resort and memorable experience.

Great Vacation!!
This was our second time staying at the Grand Bahia. Loved is once again! Food is great, variety to choose from, something for everyone. The nicer part of the beach is a little farther, but with all the food and drink it's a nice walk and the exercise is welcomed! The resorts needs a few upgrades, but they are working on this slowly. The grounds are well maintained and resort is very clean. The staff in all areas were awesome, very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

Renewal of Vows
Grounds beautiful - entertainment great - food a bit above average. Not enough A La Carte restaurants to accommodate amount of people. We were part of the Royal group but could only get one a la carte. Beach is man made and sand needs to be topped up - this was very evident when we experienced heavy rainfalls. Staff very accommodating except for the front desk. Rooms are clean but tired looking. Maid service awesome. Let me go back to the front desk. We had an issue with guests arriving [... read more]from Kingston for our ceremony. My husband negotiated a price for the room, offered to put down a holding fee, because he wanted to confirm with me that we were in agreement. He went back 15 minutes later and they had sold the room. We were so upset, our guests had to go back to Kingston, which meant that they had to leave early and missed the rest of our celebration - no one cared or seemed to be accountable. Wedding co-ordinator - outstanding

Questionable resort?!!
This hotel was definitely not a 5 star I would rate it a 2/3...no internet....no TV....wrong rooms...the hallways were dark (dangerous for women)....the airconditioner in my sons room did not work very well...i wasn't expecting 20 marriage proposals from the staff!!!! The staff seemed to need more customer service training. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

First family vacation amazing
The hotel was beyond amazing, we stayed 10 days at the Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica and we loved it. Check in was a breeze and the ladies at the desk were so friendly. After checking in we were shown to our room by a bell man. The room was great for our family. The view was amazing, it was all breathtaking. The food was great we loved the food . The service at the restaurants were good one waitress stood out as she helped us at the garden grill for breakfast, her name is Shadeen she is the best.[... read more] The pool vibes is lovely and we loved the area for kids. The beach was cool to chill on especially when the sun was going down. Alot of negative reviews shown on TripAdvisor but we didn't experience all other people are complaining about. Our mini bar was stocked daily too. Would we go back? Of course we would. Would we recommend the resort? we would definitely do. Thank you Trip Central. Our trip was amazing. Jamaica no problem!!

WILL NOT RECOMMEND ,VERY BAD EXPERIENCE
My honest opinion on this place , the hotel is ok, the ground is ok , eating area is ok , the buffet area and the swim up bar however is the dirtiest than i have ever seen the way the food and spoons are kept is very nasty , food not appealing turn off from eating , limit of fruits and oranges, no ginger ale drink in that place , the late night buffet food is for dogs only, i can go on just because i traveled to different places and this is by far the worse,****WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO NO ONE THAT [... read more]I KNOW.******Got sick there and not much help not even from the doctor at the privet hospital in Montego Bay , almost died , had to rush back to Canada

Solid 4 Star Resort
Hotel is a dated, wouldn't rate it as a five star. Good price for all inclusive stay compared to other 5 star rated resorts.
Hallways are poorly lit and elevators are small and old. Elevators can only fit about 6 people at a time, or 2 people with luggage. Staff use the same elevators as well with their carts and trolleys taking up almost the entire elevator. There is no up or down button so it stops on every floor where people are waiting regardless if they are going up or down.
Rooms an[... read more]d bathrooms are large. Has the standard big whirlpool tub which takes up half the bathroom. A small single person stand up shower, and single sink. Water pressure in the shower was poor and temperature fluctuated often between hot and cold water. AC worked fine and kept the room cool. King size bed.
The beach area was small and rocky along the shoreline. Kids pool area and main pool area were large and usually had enough poolside chairs and umbrellas available.
The selection of Jamaican food was excellent. The themed nights at the buffet were pretty terrible. Spanish and Asian food selection did not do the cultures any justice, and should try to be improved. Not prepared with the proper and quality ingredients, did not taste good and was not close to being authentic. Desserts were usually the generic big slab cakes and mousses, bread pudding and some type of fried dough balls.
Bar service was usually quick, and mixed drinks were prepared decently with a good mix of alcohol to the rest of the drink.
The staff were friendly and professional. Had very pleasant interactions with most of the staff in front desk, bars and restaurants. Needed to request for our mini bar to be restocked on two different dates. If you track sand into your room from the beach it will stay there on the floor, housekeeping cleans the room well for the most part but doesn't appear that they sweep/vacuum floors during the week stay.

Second time just as great !
We travelled to GBP Jamaica Aug 2018 & May 12-19 2019 . For us this resort offers everything we want. Beach is amazing the farthest beach is the one we prefer, much more shade and breeze , not as crowded.
We love the food here. The A la carte's are fantastic. Have not tried Italian could not get in either time, Buffet always has many options. The staff at this resort are always friendly helpful and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel itself is showing signs of age. Carpe[... read more]t in halls needs replacing ect.. But you don't spend much time there . The room has everything you would need. We made coffee in room every morning , sat on balcony. . We enjoyed the morning buffet at the steakhouse. It was right outside of building , perfect. . You can have lunch at Piscis beach grill. But prefer the air conditoned main buffet , where there are more choices and it's nice to get out of the heat. Our maid was fantastic. Vanessa at main lobby was such a great help and got us in our room sooner than expected.

It's really good
The resort has excellent beaches - big and small for every taste. Jamaican food was very good here. People are friendly and ready to help. We enjoyed our stay a lot. I'd suggest two improvements though: Additional shelves in the shower (I put my stuff on the floor, and it was inconvenient) and espresso machines in bars. Thank you a lot!
