Relaxing trip

I spent the week of April 27th to May 4th 2017 at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa.Had a great trip ,food was really good,service was awesome drinks were amazing! Thank you Marco! Met the sweetest beach boy who was a hard worker and super friendly by the name of David...Great job David!! Although I was a bit disappointed with the beach and all the seaweed,I had been to the same area two years ago and it was quite a bit worse now this year.They are continuously trying to keep it clear but it's like  [... read more]a hopeless case. The resort was very lovely,spacious and clean,I never had a problem with finding a spot to sit and relax! I would certainly recommend this resort to friends as long as they don't mind the beach in the shape it was in ,keeping in mind the 4 pools were lovely !!

Simply perfect

This hotel was amazing!! All the pictures you see of this resort are true examples of what it actually looks like. Check in was smooth and our room was ready. We enjoyed everything this hotel had to offer. There were 4 pools you could choose from depending how much activity you wanted. We spent time in all except the kids pool. The staff is amazing and are always willing to serve. They communicate very well in english. Food was good always something to please everyone. Perfect getaway

This resort was a perfect getaway. The property is immaculate .It was a great time to go as it wasn't very busy. The service is excellent, the food amazing. I can't really say anything bad about this Resort. We aren't Beach people so we spent most of our time at the pool where Jazmin looked after us all day ( with a smile) .Yes there was some seaweed on the beach but no big deal .we will definitely be back

Great holiday!

Hotel was wonderful. Great food and service. Very clean and well kept. Kids club and kids pool including Daisey snack bar were so conveniently situated near our rooms and beachfront that we could really relax with everything close by. Would definitely return.

Awesome

We just arrived home from the Ocean Coral Turquesa on Saturday April 1. This resort is beautiful with a great layout. It is very clean and well maintained. The staff work hard to make everyone happy and are very accommodating. Xavier met us upon arrival and told asked us to meet with him so he could give us a welcome package. I was a bit sceptical regarding this as we were not interested in meeting for a couple hours regarding a time share proposal. The next day we met Xavier for a ten minute meeting when he explained to us he was representing the Hotel and was there to do anything to provide a great stay for us. He was awesome and every time he spotted us asked how things were. He was great. Thanks Xavier for making our stay relaxing. The pictures provided on the Internet for the Ocean Coral Turquesa are great but do not do the resort justice. It is everything you see and more. We really liked the size of the resort and it's layout. We stayed in building 5 on the 3rd floor with a view of the ocean. It was quiet with great working AC. The hot water in the shower was not working on two occasions during the first couple days of our stay. I spoke to guest services and they immediately had a service guy come down to repair it. It was merely minutes. That's service, just ask. The food is great. No booking of restaurants required other than the Japanese one. It can be booked at 11 am the day you would like to go. Just be there to reserve your spot as it does fill up. There are four pools one being a kids pool. We spent most of our pool time at the pool which had the volleyball net. It never seemed to be real busy with lots of room to enjoy the water. You can always find a chair in this pool. The pool which has the swim up bar is much busier which can be expected. The location of the resort is great only 20 minutes from the airport. It has probably the best beach of any resort we have stayed at in the Rivera Mayan. The beach goes forever. We walked for over an hour down the beach and came into the town of the area which provided a public beach. Say hello Carlos at the lobby bar. He was great to chat with. The young waiter in the lobby area during the evening is also a great kid, Raoul☺. These people all work hard to make our vacations great. Don't be shy to tip occasionally they appreciate it. Don't be scared to book a vacation at this resort, it was everything we were looking for and will definitely return. Thanks to Jenn Black from trip central for the recommendation. Exceptional Resort

We have been to Mexico at least a dozen times and this resort is way up there as one of our favourites. We stayed at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa for the week of March 23. We upgraded to the Privilege Package and would recommend this for anyone who wants exceptional service and pampering. We only went to the buffet once, and that was because we were curious. Our room was [... read more] well appointed with private butler service. 4 amazing pools and a very long stretch of soft sand beach for walks. We never had to do the towel dance in the morning like all other resorts we had been to, didn't matter if you arrived at 7am or 1pm, there was always chairs and a shade hut for you on the privilege section of the beach. Bar service to your chair all day long from the amazing Gabriella. What a jem she is for this resort. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make your stay a great one. Do not overlook this resort, it's amazing! Upgrade to the privilege section, its worth every penny!!!

Beautiful resort!

First time in Mexico and I was very pleased! Beautiful resort friendly staff! The grounds and buildings are well maintained and clean. Food was great... lots of selection for buffet and restaurants. Lots of pools! People that want to relax were able to find quiet on the resort and there is also lots of fun and entertainment if you're looking for that. We had a couple windy days so the water was a bit murky and a bit of seaweed but that didn't bother us... it's an ocean. They cleaned it up every  [... read more]morning. The only thing I would have a complaint about is the air fresheners in the lobby sitting area being very strong smelling and the prices of the photos and some of the items in the gift store are super ridiculously overpriced.

Great location

The resort is ideally located along a stretch of the ocean that makes all amenities easily accessible for all guests. There were many guests in a wheelchair or using crutches for a variety of reasons. The landscaping was simple but lovely. 3 pools all located near the beach with easy access to food and drinks. The staff are constantly sweeping, pruning and keeping the resort very very clean. Service was very good and the food was EXCELLENT. The rooms were large with a large bathroom and a shower with excellent water pressure. Comfortable beds. Only 25 minutes from the Cancun airport also a huge convenience. The only downfall was the night life. The shows were terrible, I've travelled to 15 all inclusives over the past 20 years and I can honestly say that the shows were the worst that I've ever tried to sit through. Some duos who played in the lobby area in the evening were OK but the music was very low key and put everyone to sleep. There were technical laptop and sound issues with a couple other events that didn't start or started 45 minutes late. So the evenings were boring and too quiet. If you want quiet and a beautiful resort during the day with huge pool and great food - this is the resort . The beach was great and the tractor cleaned up piles of seaweed every morning. It was so windy all week with red/yellow flags blowing all week. Sometimes it was hard to sit on the beach with getting sandblasted.

Nice place, lack of service

We really liked the location and hotel. It was well maintained and the rooms were nice. What was really disappointing was the lack of service. They need way more staff to reduce wait times at the restaurants and to provide quicker service around pools. The pools also weren't heated so they were to cold to swim in on cooler days.

Beautiful Resort

The resort is located in a great location with only a 20 minute bus ride. The resort was larger than I originally thought, but it goes horizontal with the ocean which was very nice, we spend 85% of our time laying on the beach enjoying the view of the beautiful turquoise ocean. The grounds surrounding the hotel are magnificent, the staff very efficient at maintaining everything. Plenty to do for whatever you're looking for. My only disappointment with our room was, I requested and paid for Ocean View but only received partial Ocean View. That was a bit disappointing. There's Plenty of variety for dining and the food was quite tasty. There was daily different entertainment and activities throughout the resort. The only negative thing I would have to say in regards to this resort was the lack of information on activities going on throughout the resort. We missed out on many of the activities because we were unaware of them. We stumbled across some while out for a walk. We would have enjoyed participating in more.. I would recommend the front desk give you a pamphlet with their activities or leave something in your room. The staff was great, the bartenders were fantastic, I would definitely recommend this resort to a friend.

Great week

Everything was great pools food and especially the staff they all worked so hard to make our vacation a good on. The only compliant our good had was the beach wasn't very nice it was a disappointment but everything else was just wonderful .

Something For Everyone!

Just came back from a great week at Ocean Coral and Turquesa. The room was large and clean. The grounds were so beautiful and very well maintained. A nice variety of food choices - our favorites were the Japanese and the Italian, but the breakfast and lunch buffets were also very good. The service was consistently excellent - we always felt well looked after. If you have children, there's a kids' pool and a special club where you can leave them in capable hands for a day of fun activities.  [... read more]The only down side was the beach. Because it was quite windy, there was a lot of seaweed on the shore and the water was quite rough. Thanks for a great week.

Great Resort

I really enjoyed the way this resort is layed out.... stretched lengthwise with the beach, two covered thatched walkways on each side of the main areas of the hotel (lobby etc), no one bothered us about time shares. I went with my mom age 70, we enjoyed the buffet and thought the Japanese restaurant was the best. We loved the beds by the pool and got one each day. The only disappointing factor was the beach, lots of seaweed which they leave for ecological reasons but I missed my nice clean beach and clean water to swim! However that did not wreck our time.... we had stormy weather so didn't stay at the beach anyway. We enjoyed dancing by the pool bar in the evenings to live music. Loved Mikes coffee shop/ good expressos! Opens at 8 am, I would've liked 6 or 7, we loved the ease of getting around the resort .... it is beautiful... beautiful old Mexico architecture.... we will be back! I also wished for daily yoga....

Great Resort!

Our vacation was great. Resort staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and plenty large for the amount of time you spent in them. Beach was beautiful, a bit weedy on windy days. Food for the most part was good, nothing really to complain about, but nothing also to really rave about. If you've never been there, beware of the friendly "Reps" in the resort lobby. Ultimately they sit you down and try to talk you into time share time, if you're clear that you aren't interested they gladly leave you [... read more] alone. (These types are also at the Mexican airport). My advice is to deal only with your own travel reps at the resort (ie: mine were the Air Canada reps). All this being said, it's a great resort to go and spend some fun in the sun, and its only 20 minutes from the airport!

Love that the resort is so close to the airport. Awesome resort, rooms clean. Staff were always very friendly. Beautiful pool area. Could choose more active vs. quiet surroundings. Could walk for miles on the beautiful beach. Continually working to keep weeds cleaned up. Ocean swimming great. Food was wonderful. No complaints all week from a group of 9!

Best Resort We've been to so far!!!!!

We loved this place!!!. We just came back from a week in February 2017. The lobby was impressive and it only got better from there. We were in building 5 on the 2nd floor. very private balcony looking into thick palms facing the ocean but no sightline of the water (we didn't mind and enjoyed the privacy without having to close our curtains all the time) 4 pools allowed us to pick what mood we were in each day. We were looking for good beach volleyball and although the resort had a court, they kept taking the net down for special dinners that were set up on the beach and then would take a day to get it back up. They also didn't have lines for the court. (walking along the beach to the south all the other resorts had proper nets and lines) The a la carte restaurants were fantastic!!! we loved not having to make a reservation however be warned that if you aren't dressed and waiting in line at 6pm then you will most likely be getting a 'buzzer' and called back later. We arrived around 7:30-8pm most nights and would have about an hour wait till we could be seated. After figuring this out on the first night we took advantage of the great singer/piano duo that played in the lobby while we waited. Servers were always coming around to top up drinks also. Our favorite restaurant was BY FAR the Crepery!!!!!! We went there for 2nd lunch each day and 1 personally ordered 2 Nutella crepes with whipped cream and strawberries every time. A highlight for sure. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with omelette bars and fresh juice bar, and loads of fruit and pastries each morning. we also were offered Mimosa's and Bailey's in our coffee. (nice treat as Bailey's is an extra charge or for privileged guests otherwise) The rooms were very nice and modern. Huge shower with separate water closet and soaker tub. We initially wondered if these were nicer due to being in the "privileged" area of the resort around the quiet pool, however after glancing through a few windows we saw the same interior around the entire property. The staff was great and we were very pleased with how well most spoke English. The evening entertainment was very well done. They had it set up outside and used the stairs and balcony of the lobby veranda as part of the set. The ones we saw: Grease, Lion King, and International were impressive with costumes, and great choreography. A few things that weren't our favorite: saving chairs around the pools and on the beach was ridiculous. My husband was up one morning and down at 7 am and every single beach chair was saved as well as almost all the pool chairs except around the quiet pool. (we were looking for 4 together) The beach wasn't awesome due to seaweed washing up (I know this is completely out of their control and seasonal) The water seemed to be really dirty with garbage washing in and seaweed growing in the shallow waters made for an unenjoyable time wading in. All in all it was our favorite resort so far and we would definitely go back.

A great vacation at a world class resort

Everything about this resort was wonderful. The food especially the Japanese and Italian restaurants were exceptional, the service in the hotel, in the bars and in the restaurants was great and the location was to die for. The pools were clean and very accessible.

Good time good food

Resort was great. Food was awesome. Staff and locals were real nice. Housekeeping was ok. Buying from vendors was expensive no great deals. For Canadians better to use peso bring a calculator. I would go again for sure!

Not impressed

We were very disappointed in our stay at the Oceans. Had food poisoning and was sick for 3 days very bad. Have come to Mexico 7 times in the last 10 yrs. never had food poisoning before,but talked to others the next day they also had it from the exact food that I ate. Also there were bed bugs also seen a cockroach. Elevator was broken and my 78 yr. old husband had to climb up to the 3rd floor where are rooms was,although he is in good shape it became too much for both of us. We will not return t [... read more]o this hotel again. The very best thing about the Oceans was Carlos the bartender at the pool bar he was a great guy. Very friendly and always a smile on his face we looked forward to seeing him everyday.

Great resort

Rooms / food/ beaches were nice. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The seaweed on the beach is a daily task but the staff do there best to clean / mulch it. We were told that you wouldn't have to struggle in finding a beach chair but we found out that as with most resorts, you have to be up early to put your towel down in order to get a decent chair. Certainly didn't ruin the trip though. Would definitely go back to this resort.
