Brisas Sierra Mar: Unbelievably Amazing Staff!

This hotel is a diamond in the rough! We caught this deal for 398$ tax incl for a 5 day 4 night stay to celebrate 2 birthdays. We were very skeptical at first but wee arrived at the hotel and we didn't have to check in or anything as we were given our room keys and bracelets on the bus. We were a rowdy bunch of girls planning to have the time of our lives & we accomplished just that! From the bellboys to the wait staff and entertainment and the bartenders and even the security at night! They were all amazing and went out of their way to accommodate us in any way shape or form! They completely excided my expectations 100%! I personally travel alot and I have never been treated so well as I was at this resort. Food?? Not much selection at the buffet but who needs selection when the items they have are to notch flavor??? Rooms? Older... But very clean and they are just for sleeping anyway. Beach?? Gorgeous! The water was warm and so still you could see right through it! Bars?? Bring your big bottle! They will fill u up no questions asked!! The views are amazing from every single room! We were on 2nd floor.. Next time i will ask for 4th! Just to try something new :) I give this hotel a 5+++++ star for the service alone! Very very very happy with this hotel! I can not wait to return!

Hotel Las Americas: Good

Everything close for travel and excursions taxi available good close to local shopping and eating bars and disco. Plenty of local services are good. food. And local flavors good. Locals very helpful and polite

Brisas Sierra Mar: Clean friendly and comfortable

The room and common areas were good The elevators were not reliable and should be attended to immediately. The pool was a little less than great but who cares! Nice beach, good variety and quality of food. Majority of staff very friendly and helpful

Brisas Sierra Mar: Our Second Home

Hotel is very clean. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. The view of the mountains and ocean are breathtaking. We have found that the food at this resort is some of the best on the island. The staff are amazing and always friendly.

This area is good for anybody who love a nature. Mountins forest and mango tree around. From terrase you can see amasing pictures. We had visited this resort second time and every time purchased mango honey. Amasing taste. We not recomended this resort for swimers. Forest beach with dark sand and a lot of seaweeds. But beach is clean. Wery fremdly personal offer good service. This resort is good for anybody who is looking relaksation alone.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Beautiful Scenery questionable service

The Hotel itself was beautiful and the views were breath-taking. We had a great experience with the tours. The snorkeling adventure on the coral reef was amazing. The sail boat tour was very relaxing but the scooter tour that we paid extra for was so exciting and very worth the $25 per person. The tour guide was fantastic and very informative. The resort felt like a relationship hook up spot for the local men and women to find Canadian partners. There were several older men with young Cuban wives/girlfriends. At times it felt uncomfortable. The beach was clean but the pool needed some TLC. The food was very bland and the fruit, vegetables and desert tables were covered in fruit flies and the food should have been better covered. Not sure if it could be helped or not but I couldn't eat from that section. There was a person that drank too much and was visually impaired that kept getting served well beyond the point anyone should be served. They need to set limits for the safety of their visitors and their staff.

Hotel Casa Granda: Beautiful Hotel

Food was excellent and My room was great .. overlooked the park . I liked this Hotel and the staff. The only thing I did not like was being targeted by Street huslers in the park. This was No fault of Casa Granda managment. The next time I stay in the city , I will go back to Casa Granda.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Second time back

We first came to this hotel in Dec 2015 and we enjoyed it very much. The second time back did not disappoint. We love the grounds - the trees, bushes, flowers (and vegetable garden) are lush and very well taken care of. Most of the amenities (lobby, buffet, a la carte restaurants, pool, cafe, towel shack, etc) are centrally located so very convenient. The beach has lots of shade and the pool does too if you get there early enough to snag a palapa. There is also a lunch shack close to the beach [... read more] where we ate every day - fresh fish, salad, soup, hot dogs, hamburgers and pizza. The menu does not vary but we didn't mind as it is a nice, quiet spot to eat and you are well served. Some days there is a band in the beach shack but this time (mid April) there were not a lot of guests at the hotel so we only had a band one day. The entertainment in the lobby bar is very good, the only complaint is there are not enough bands playing cuban music which we love. The buffet has a good variety, both for breakfast and dinner - we did not go there for lunch so cannot comment on that. The a la carte restaurants were very good and they usually had a band for dinner so we enjoyed that. The return flight (Air Cubana) was delayed 2 hours and the airport is quite small, crowded and noisy so we were not impressed and as this was not the first time we have experienced significant delays with Air Cubana we will think twice about flying Air Cubana again.

Carisol los Corales: Nice resort

The resort was nice , the room was clean and the shower had lots of hot water . the food was OK at the buffet most of the time ( do not show up late , slim pickings ) . day time activity fun and nightly shows are great .

Brisas Los Galeones: Los Galeones - April 2017

Small, intimate gem in Cuba! Wonderful and friendly staff who go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Unusual array of entertainment from the cats, goats, chickens, lizards and iguanas! Will definitely return again and again to this resort.

Villa Gaviota : Good hotel room

Pool not included as advertized was my greatest deception. Since I was planning on visiting the city, I knew the beach was not close therefore the promised pool woul have been nice to spend time at in the hot afternoon sun. Transfers from hotel to airport not supplied as promised. Had to pay my taxi both directions. Restaurant food was good, not a great variety but substantial reasonably priced meals and cold beer. Restaurant staff were offering great service.

Carisol los Corales: Incredible time

The whole experience was exactly what I was looking for. The staff was amazing and the resort itself was beautiful clean and relaxing. I would definitely go back. the pool and the entertainment was great. Everything was what I wanted and surpassed my expectations

Brisas Los Galeones: Cuba's best kept secret!

Just back from another great stay in Los Galeones for the 21st time. This is a unique boutique hotel in Guama province 74K west of Santiago. Only 32 rooms, adult only, a great place for a quiet holiday.Not for the mobility challenged as the great little snorkelling beach is 296 steps down the hill. However, the facilities and pool above are well maintained, absent the odd power failure and occasional water shortage, not unusual for Cuba. What more could you want? it's Cuba's best kept secret.

Carisol los Corales: Good resort and great location!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Los Corales. The location is great as it is an hour to the city centre and close to the aquarium where we swam with dolphins. As we both speak Spanish, we were able to immerse ourselves with the locals and enjoy some evenings in the barrio dancing with them. We also visited the lagoon by foot. As for the hotel, the room we were given was in need of updating. There were no other rooms available to move to so we had to settle. The Management was overseeing the restaurant one day and that was when we actually received service promptly. The Entertainment staff, especially my girl Yilen whom offered dance and exercise classes, were on point. The only problem were the guests as most times they were not interested to participate. I would give this resort a 3 star review based on overall experience.

Costa Morena: The sound of slapping waves

Where else can you be located right along the ocean side , no matter where you stood. Or imagine sitting at your dinner table, inhaling the tropical breeze and warmth of the day. Well, that is just a little taste of what you would enjoy staying at CM. The room was clean, with a new AC unit. The swimming pool had been completely refurbished. Carisol los Corales: Love this place!

Still needs a bit of TLC, after hurricane Sandy... But they are well on the way. I found this gem through friend 3 years ago, and I've been back year after year. Staff are amazing! It's clean and has all the basics.. Don't go in with high standards, because u will only let urself down. Cuba isn't Canada, and u will only get out what u invest into ur experience.

Costa Morena: Actually under renovation - open only 2 out of 6 blocks

It was our 4th time at Costa Morena and we feel always being among friends. This time we had only around 40 tourists in block 5 and 6 while 1 to 4 is under renovation. They also plastified the dining room with windows while this was all open 2 years ago and I liked it more than now. A lots of improvements were actually done all over the place:new painting, solar panel for permanent hot water in the showers, new TVs. They are also offering now free drinks at the disco and 24 hrs lobby bar. Jose [... read more], Noah, Oscar, Jesus and friends did the best for nightly entertainment but with folks towards the 80 around, the disco was not crowded and did almost not taking off. The beach is still full of stones and concrete and there is no real swimming in the sea which is deplorable as it could be made accessible somehow either by removing the stones or by constructing a deck onto the riff... Thanks to the great staff (Marina and all others) at Costa Morena for a nice and friendly vacation experience !

Costa Morena: Relax

Costa Morena is still recovering from Hurricane Sandy (2012). The old section is under renovation. This resort provides Very Basic facilities and Services, but it provides them through such wonderful people that it is easy to relax and enjoy. I use a Walker. This is not a wheels-friendly place.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Pleasant Resort

The resort at Brisas Sierra Mar is very pleasant to visit. The grounds are lovely, public areas including the washrooms are nicely kept, the beach area is nice and has some good shaded areas, the pool area needs some updating, the rooms are dated but very pleasant and the staff are very congenial and helpful. The snorkelling was really enjoyable.

We had checked before going about having diet pop and they have it but not the same as ours-but no they didn't have it at all-Pedro at the hotel tried for 2 days to get us some from in Santiagio and on the second day did find some limited amounts for us-we were so grateful to him and his hard work .. I cooked with one of the chefs and we made some pickles which I took the spices for-it was just wonderful and new for them.. We took the horse and buggy ride to Bacanao (for 5 pesos) to a school and took them some supplies of paper,markers,pencils,Canadian flags and more-they were so happy and welcomed us-it was good for them and good for us.. We went out of the resort to a restaurant now far-but the food was not good at all there..met some local people and gave them some baby clothes that were so happy to have.. Now there are tile floors for the sidewalks and we had a heavy rain which made the tiles slippery..there were 3 of us that I know of that had fallen ..so be careful of this..the nurses in the infirmery were totally awesome when I had my fall. All of the staff are so pleasant,friendly and helpful in every way..our stay there and adventures were so good and enjoyable..
