Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Lovely vacation for all the family!

Great beach with clear water and little to no algae. Enjoyed the kayaking. A variety of pools that were well suited for young children and not too busy. Food was varied and good. We loved the easy accessibility to the restaurants with no limits or reservations needed. Lots of positive attention for the three little ones. Grounds and rooms were very clean and well-maintained. The three- and seven-year old enjoyed the kids' club. We did not choose the Preferred Club as we did not feel it was worth [... read more] it for us. The one negative was the lack of sufficient shade on the beach. Also, the recommendation I would make is to advertise the Kids' Club and their activities, possibly as you do the adult activities. I informed a few people I met about it after they complained there was nothing for the kids.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Excellent Vacation Spot

The resort was beautiful in every way. The grounds and beach were groomed impeccably. Loungers and tables at the beach and around the pool were cleaned everyday. The food was awesome. So many choices and always presented and prepared to perfection. The staff were friendly and helpful and seemed to be genuinely happy that we were there. Every effort was made to make our vacation totally stress free.

Catalonia Royal La Romana: Hilton La Romana

This is a very nice resort. Checkin was very quick and smooth, best we’ve ever experienced Rooms are spacious, updated and clean. Beds are very comfortable. Food was very good. We always had good selection at the buffet and enjoyed the reservation free restaurants. Privilege area needs some work. It wasn’t special at all. Staff friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment is non existent in the adult lobby. You had to go to the family side for shows but it would have been nice to have music at least in the evenings. Very boring to just sit there.

We wore pick up at Punta Cana by a driver,brought us to the hotel.We changed our room 3 times,finally they give us a nice room,in mean times lost couple day by the times everything was over.Also they hotel gave us the fobes to open the door,and we had to change the fobes 3 times.Over all essential that bad.The rest was good,I will be back next year again.We wore there eleven times.Coming home the Sunwing rappresentant told me the pick up is at 7.20 a.m. the bus show up at 9.00 a.m. The plane was [... read more] late 3 hours.We should arrive at 4.00 p.m. we arrive in Toronto at 8.00 p.m.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Awesome but…

The Bahia Principe Grand La Romana resort was fantastic, we loved our stay. The beach is disappointing though and that was kind of a bummer for us. We spent the entire time at the pool as the beach kind of resembles Lake Ontario rather than the blue water white sand experience you expect in the Dominican. Everything else was great tho so if you don’t care for the beach this resort is great for a chill week away from work and city noise. Food was good, lots of choices, soups every day I tried them all I absolutely love soups, vegetables and fruits in grand variety. The resort is large enough not to feel crowded and small enough that everything is within a 5 mins walk. The entertainment team is fun and happy and they do t annoy and obligate you if you aren’t into playing their games and just want to hang out and watch others play. One bar at the beach, one bar at the pool and a bar at the lobby so plenty of alco spots. Rooms were ok, not super roomy but enough to do your minimum needs as you aren’t expected to spend much time in the room anyway. We liked being on the first floor as that gave us a nice backyard view to the resort and also another way to enter our room as the key rarely actually worked.

Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham: Great place the "Palace"

We spent a week at this resort and I would recommend it to anybody, because you can have almost everything you need with a possibility to have access to the sister resort, the Beaches too. Services are good The food is great The rooms are clean The beach and the sea are amazing The only negative thing was the loud music near the beach, if you are middle aged or senior.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Such a great experience!

The food was fabulous, the service was fabulous, the grounds were expertly maintained. Everything was so clean! The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, the dining was fantastic! Excellent entertainment… A very romantic small resort to get your R&R and enjoy the sun…so great!

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Disappointed

The resort in general is quite nice and well kept. The rooms are a bit dated but clean with a comfortable bed. However, the bathroom is sub standard because of the bad lighting and crowded shower space which is a bit scary because of the slippery floor in the tub (a warning sign is posted). The buffet is smaller than most and some of the offerings are questionable because they don't fit the time of day they are being served but you don't have to take them because there are many more choices.  [... read more]This is a family resort and is not geared to meeting other people. For instance, there are no bars with seating which makes it harder to interact with others that you don't know. Make sure you book your ala carte restaurants immediately. We waited until our second day and there was nothing available so we were relegated to seven days of the buffet which gets old really quickly. The biggest disappointment was that the Casino was closed and has been for three months. We chose this resort because it had an on-site casino and quite obviously feel cheated because no web sites or information disclosed this fact. The casino was important to us because Bahia Principe resorts "roll up their sidewalks" at ten pm. unless you are a disco going type. I repeat, it is suited to families.

Catalonia Royal La Romana: Good & bad

We are frequent travellers to Punta Cana but decided to visit the other side of the Island in La Romana. The resort is very clean, smaller than the resorts we liked in Punta Cana. The food was sub-par compared to most resorts in Punta Cana. but the staff is friendlier. The biggest disappointment is how steep the beach is compared to Bavaro Beach so we did not get to enjoy those long walks on the beach which is our favourite thing to do. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Amazing resort!!!!

It was our first time to Dominican. The food was great, hotel and grounds were absolutely beautiful, all staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful!!! Only bad thing I have to say was my room did not have hot water to have a warm shower but other then that I would definitely go back to this resort!!!

Secrets La Romana: Top notch resort

We had a swim out room that looked out to the large adult pool and sea. Great location and view. Food was really good with different options to eat at. Every time you went to eat you were asked if anyone in you party had food allergies and they went out of their way to accommodate. Rooms were a good size and maid service was great. Thanks Nancy. We would definitely return.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Great resort

2nd time at this resort it did not disappoint. There are some minor things have changed since COVID as the hotel may be cutting back to save on expenses. The only item that I didn’t like was that the Pool towels are no longer readily available on pool chairs or on stands. You now have to pick them up from a towel hut and you can only get one per person after they verify your room number. Room was clean however we did not get the preferred club amenities despite having paid for preferred. Beach is great the the pools are beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay and will return.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Amazing

Amazing Resort. Dreams Dominicus in La Romana is the best resort we have been so far. Everything was perfect. Room, food, entertainments, drinks… most impressive things was the cleanliness of the resort and in particularly the rooms. We will definitely recommend.

We were at the preferred club part and the beach was nice but if not for that the beach on the other side was crowded and no shade. We had booked a room with pool view and did not honour that when we got there. Rooms were cleaned late in the day and not cleaned on 2 days of our 7 day stay. Food was overall good and so were drinks. Service on the beach was terrible bringing us warm bear and leaving it there with the lid on the bottle. Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham: Beautiful!

This is a great resort! People are friendly, food is good, lots of a la carte restaurant to choose from. The beach is spectacular with good snorkeling. Personally a better wine list would have been a bonus.

What a fantastic resort this is. I’m not sure what it was like during COVID restrictions but there were no signs that they were in “recovery” mode. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Best part? There were no kids at this resort and no thumping bass drumming all hours. In fact by about 6pm the pool areas were closed and the resort took on a more relaxed mature feel. Worst part? No biggie to me I absorbed the cost but not everyone can be so fortunate. The food was awesome. Never any shortages. They do have “gala” nights. There’s a dress code, fellas bring long pants and a nice shirt. On these gala nights, you are expected to buy your own drinks. Keep this in mind as they sell wine by the bottle starting around $50 US.

Tres bon service, chambre agreable, nourriture au buffet tres bien ,resto le francais et l italien tres bien,le 24 heures pour depannage tres bien, la plage rien a voir a celle de Cuba,je n ai pas aimer et il y avait de tres gros insectes comme des abeilles a l interieur du sable et l eau etait toujours brouillee, pas faite pour des amoureux de plage .Le plus desagreable c etait le transport inclus de l aeroport a l hotel, a l arrivee il nous ont oublie ils ont fait revenir l autobus pour nous p [... read more]rendre , pour le retour a l aeroport a la fin des vacances , le responsable d air Transat nous conseille d etre au lobby pur 9heures 45 minutes pour prendre l autobus ,a 9heures 30 minutes nous sommes au lobby pour prendre cet autobus qui n est jamais venu et nous avons appris par d autres voyageurs Louise et kalvin que je salut, qu il n y a jamais eu d autobus mais un petit taxi avant 9 heures 30 minutes et qui est parti sans jamais ce presenter comme notre transporteur.Heureusement le vol etait en retard et Leonardo le represantant de air transat voyant que j etait tres mecontente a reussi a nous avoir un autre taxi gratuitement.Ne pas ce laisser arnaquer et ce plaindre vigoureusement parce que le transport est inclus.Merci air Transat mon prochain depart est pour janvier 2023.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Under construction

Hotel is currently under going some rebuilding after a fire so there was alot of construction noise. My room was directly beside the buffet and a construction area so there was a lot of noise. One night I was woken up at 3am and kept awake until 5am. On the weekend they open the resort to locals and that really changed the overall experience. It was extremely busy and loud. I had been to this resort previously in 2019 and was pleased overall with my stay. Had I known there was construction taking place and there would be constant hammering, electric saw, etc… I likely would not have stayed there again. I appreciate the hotel went through the fire, then COVID and cannot shut down completely, overall it was too noisy for me.

Catalonia Royal La Romana: Underwhelmed

Good resort layout, nice beach however impossible to find beach chairs (even 7am!). Rooms are ok but bedding needs updating (pillows hard with weird stuffing). Food - very elaborate menus but execution quite poor (a grade above Cuba). Staff friendly and helpful.
