Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Lovely resort

Awesome resort, perfect size and very clean. The staff was absolutely amazing and accommodating, and the amenities were never lacking, as can sometimes be the case at smaller resorts, but not here!! The buffet offered a wide selection, with themed dinners each night, and as a picky eater myself I never went without and was always satisfied and full. Excellent and safe location (being within a larger gated resort community) and close to the airport and historical Puerto Plata. Less than a 2 minut [... read more]e walk from the mall, which had very cheap souvenirs. The shows were fantastic, and there was usually something to watch on stage as well as in the lobby. The 24 hour snack bar was very convenient and tasty. Shoutout to Caesar and his excursion company, who got us a great deal for a city tour, you can find him on the beach! It’s always best to support local companies when on vacation. I would definitely come back to this resort again!

Playabachata Hotel: Wonderful stay at Playabachata

Playabachata Hotel was amazing. The atmosphere, food and staff were all wonderful. The beach was stunning. Our kids enjoyed the nightly entertainment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to be back!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Marien puerto plata resort

The resort is small which makes it easy to get around . The entertainment staff are very nice and the shows were pretty good. Our favourite restaurant was the Mediterranean. The buffet is small but there is always something to eat . I would go here again

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Nice resort.

Would not return to this resort. 9/10 of our group became sick… nausea, vomiting, diarrhea . Probably Food related…. Still recovering after returning home. This was our 3rd time to this resort…very crowded this visit… . Staff were all very pleasant .

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Expected more

We checked in the hotel on Tuesday January 27and the room we were given was very nice.There were so many little things that made this resort feel cheap,like only two complimintry pop for the week,we had to get our own drinking water.the premium drinks went to guest who paid extra.There was very limited entertainment and only 2 bars,with one shutting down early. The staff was friendly but we didn't like the constant harassment to buy goods and services from the locals on the beach and the lack of [... read more] seating both on the beach and by the pool. This was our 10th carribeen vacation and one of the least enjoyable.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: The food though!

Loved our visit and were blown away with the variety of seafood everyday! The pool & beach were stunning. The rooms were very clean, fridge well stocked and the bed was so comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again. My only regret is to not try on that dress in the Boutique, it was stunning!

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Vacation at Emotions

Lovely grounds that were well kept. Staff was amazing. Buffet very good. Restaurants good but very difficult to book with group of ten. Rooms were nice except bathroom had a constant sewage smell. It was nauseating. The worst was 8 of 10 people were sick with vomiting and diarrhea. Beach was lovely but vendors were very annoying and constant.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Amazing view,great location

Our third time there.We are in standard room.We know what to expect so are not surprised by the condition of room.although clean and comfortable bed,very dated,shower and bath had nearly no pressure but never asked to move since we don't spend much time in room,had walkout to pool.love the different pools and scenery.The buffet food was very very good.spent a lot of time in town which is block away,tons of fun at the bars and restaurants.also short walk to sosua beach .

Unfortunatley our stay at Emotions was a bit different this year. I got food poisoning and dioreha. The cleanliness of the hotel wasnt as impressive luckily i brought lysol wipes and cleaned the room myself :( overal i wont be supporting or recomending Emotions in the future.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Excellent Resort for the money

This was my second trip to The Senator and it did not disappoint. The attention to detail in cleanliness and ground maintenance was stunning. The beds were very comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, service was very good, food was quite good and the steakhouse was perfect. We were there for two weeks and enjoyed the hot weather and watching the cruise ships coming and going. There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas at the pool and lots of chairs at the beach. The party pool has the swim up bar and the surfaces have been redone. The quiet pool does need to have the same resurfacing but that didn't stop us from using it. On the downside there should be more tables and chairs available for people to sit for coffee or play games and cards. It would have been nice to have regular soft drinks but all were diet. We were in room 1025, close to everything .The room was a bit dated but clean, we basically only use the room to sleep so all was good. Overall a great spot.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing resort

The grounds at this hotel were immaculate as per usual. The food was excellent and the room was very clean and quiet with a view of the beach. This was our fifhteen year going to this resort and what stands out are the people who work at this resort. From manager in charge of food services, Sessione Ventura to Raul at breakfast. These people go above and beyond for their guest.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: All in all a great experience

The main public areas (lobby, pools and buffets) were well maintained, although maintenance to some infrastructure (roof thatching, some moldy hallways) needed attention. In addition, I'd strongly recommend making the narrow closed in area in front of the only entrace to the main buffet a 'Non Smoking Area' as cigerette smoke smells took away from the dining experience.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Viva Heavens Puerto Plata

I thought the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Resort was a perfect size. Food was good, however three in our group were sick, including myself. I had ate at buffet not sure what caused the food poisoning. I was terribly sick! Pool was somewhat concerning when we arrived. Lots of algae in the pool and very green.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: 3 star

Rooms need a lot of maintenance, most of the food has no taste. Pool chairs always taken by old people (from 3 am) even if they can no show up through the day. Resort little bit upgrade the furniture. Can give No more than 3 star

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Marien Puerto Plata

Hi Sandra Few issues with our trip to the Marien. First off we recommended main floor. We were given 2nd floor. They finally arranged for ground floor a few days into our trip. Secondly there was a rain storm that ended with us getting back to our room to find an inch and a half of water all over the floor, in all areas of our room. We contacted front desk and they said they would send someone but no one showed. My husband had to clean up all the water with towels. Water would not go down drain [... read more]s. Toilets stopped working no water. Our travel companions who both have mobility issues had water on there floor as well did not get any assistance till the next day when the maid arrived. This was our 2nd trip to this resort and we’re disappointed. We registered a complaint with guest services. Moral at the resort was not good with staff. We had to wait and request numerous times to get water and coffee many of the days we were at this resort. We feel that we paid a lot of money and did not receive the services that we paid for and are asking Transit to compensate us for the difficulties we experience. Please look into this for me and get back to me as soon as possible.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: We return there every year, and for a good reason

Nothing is perfect in the world, and it is up to us to find the perfection. We return to this resort for very specific reason: cleanliness, beach, food and steady climate and hospitality. Always good.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: WASTE OF MONEY - DON'T GO

ROOMS OLD VERY OLD. OUT DATED AND WORN OUT. NO HOT WATER FOR 5 DAYS, MOLD IN ROOMS, VERY NOISY, LOTS OF STAIRS. BEACH IS DISGUSTING, VERY DIRTY. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. FOOD HORRIBLE. STAFF SO-SO IF YOU GET A GOOD ONE. PLEASE REMOVE YOUR WEBSITE - OR UPDATE IT. MUST BE 25 YEARS OLD. THE PLACE DOES NOT LOOK ANYTHING LIKE IT , NONE OF THE PICTURES ARE ACCURATE. IT WAS LIKE WE WERE ON SURVIVOR, IT WAS THAT BAD.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Casa Marina is fantastic

We were very impressed by the reception area. The staff are very informative and helpful. We did pay extra for the garden view room and I don't think it was worth it. The room was tidy but not clean. There was mold on the shower screen...they did javex it to remove. The closet door fell off it's track, the TV was tempremental and the phone did not ever work. The beds were comfortable and clean.
