The Pyramid Cancun: Good resort

This resort was good. Lots of variety for restaurants and food at all times of day. Lots of beach chairs at the pool but very limited chair options at the beach. Most beach chairs were broken. Some repairs needed at the resort including leaky areas in rooms and showers. Overall enjoyable vacation!

Riu Palace Kukulkan: Beautiful resort

The hotel Itself is in great condition. I have never been to a cleaner resort. The staff was awesome; friendly and helpful. The food was very good. Beautiful beach. The complex could do with a few more elevators is my only negative. There are only two banks of elevators. They are fast but quite a walk from where our room was. Also bathtub in the middle of the room we found a bit useless and more of an obstacle.

Grand Oasis Palm: Clean, comfortable resort

Great staff, good service, food at restaurants not hot enough, but ok, lots of entertainment, beach has powder sand, waters very shallow, perfect for children and adults too. Buffet food ok, but not very hot either. Overall, it’s a good place to get away from cold Canada!

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Great well rounded resort!

Had a wonderful time with my friends. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Food was tasty and lots of variety. Only cons would be the difficulty with dinner reservations and the amount of seaweed in the ocean. But the beach was powdery soft! Staff were also attentive and friendly!

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Disappointing resort

My experience here was not great. It starts at check-in when another couple experienced an issue with the dates confirmed. They were to check-in the 17th of December, as per the email confimation they had but the hotel had them for the 18th. Surely a clerical error easily rectifiable, but no, the manager was rude and not accommodating in the least. My turn, check-in and there's a tax to be paid. No, I wven called the night before to guarantee 2 beds. I did NOT wish to sleep in the same bed as my 15 yr old son (that I only adopted a year ago) and when I asked for a different room and explained why, I was told there was never a guarantee. The room is sold as a double and costs more. No refund, no help. Just a beligerant employee. Room itself smelled like mildew and yes, there was mold in the bathroom. Then off the AC and open both the patio door and the room door for 10m. Make sure everything is stored or it will go flying. The food. OMG and I've been to Cuba in a 3*. The food was not good. You do get one.free a la carte dinner in one of their restaurants. I suggest the steakhouse but don't get your hopes up. Its good but it's not steakhouse good. Lastly, I found 4 syringes on the beach. On to some positive notes. The beach is nice. People go down at sunrise to "reserve" chairs. Get up early. The water is warm, clean, and not so salty it makes you itchy after a swim. We even slept outside one night when the sky was clear The staff that isn't at the front desk is super nice. My chambermaid was amazing. I have zero complaints there I would go back to Cancun. But I would definitely not stay here. For a similar rate, I'd go to a different resort. The RIU next door. I'm not much of a critic. I'm very laid back and almost never leave a negative review but if I can save a nice family from having a bad experience, it's worth it. Read the other not so great reviews before you book.

Secrets Mirabel Cancun Resort and Spa: Not like other secrets

We recently stayed at this resort and had a mix of great moments and some disappointing issues. The good: The food overall was very good, and the drinks were consistently well made. Service around the pool and beach was excellent — Guillermo, Anteljo and Elvis, who truly went above and beyond and made our days by the water enjoyable. While so [... read more]me may like it, I personally don’t. To me, luxury means being able to eat at the restaurant you’re craving that day without rigid planning. In the past, getting a pager and enjoying a drink while waiting for a table was never an issue. If you’re traveling with a larger group, the app won’t even allow you to book more than 4–6 people depending on the restaurant. This was especially frustrating considering the website states under Unlimited Luxury that there is “limitless access to gourmet à la carte dining options without reservations required,” which didn’t match our experience at all. Unfortunately, a sweater went missing from my room during our stay. Additionally, 4 out of the 7 people in our group got sick. I’m not blaming this on any one thing, and we were careful — we even brushed our teeth with bottled water — but it was still disappointing and affected our trip. The biggest letdown was how a birthday celebration was handled. We traveled specifically for a birthday and communicated with the resort a month in advance to book the teppanyaki restaurant for that night. We confirmed the reservation again on the day we arrived. When we showed up the night of the birthday, the restaurant was closed. Concierge then turned the situation around and implied it was our fault. We had to push just to be accommodated at another restaurant, and on top of that, we were still charged for the teppanyaki. I’ll also note that I’ve never stayed at a Secrets resort where teppanyaki was an extra charge — another reason this resort did not feel truly “luxury” to us. Overall, while there were definitely highlights, the inconsistencies, poor handling of special occasions, and policies that didn’t align with what was advertised made this stay fall short of expectations.

Krystal Grand Cancun: Amazing Beach Reaort

The beach was spectacular. White sand, clear turquoise waters, warm. Chairs and beach umbrellas were great. The hotel was nice, clean, and restaurants and food very good. The altitude building was amazing, the main building a little older and more basic. Pools were a little cold, but very nice. Overall, if you are looking for an amazing beach and nice resort, this is a great choice.

Flamingo Cancun Resort: Flamingo

The hotel is older, staff are NOT friendly, seen one staff eat a spoonful of yogurt and put the spoon back in the bowl, this was at the buffet where guests eat…food wasn’t good it’s like it’s recycled from previous nights. No entertainment, main lobby bar closes down at 11:00 pm. No beach chairs, have to use your towel to lay in the beach…I would never go back here or recommend to anyone. Way too much money I would rate this hotel as a 1. Very disappointing.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Great Resort!

We stayed at Royalton CHIC Cancun over the New Year’s holiday and had an overall very positive experience. The hotel was kept extremely clean, and the entire property had a signature essential oil scent. While it was pleasant in some areas, it could be a bit overpowering in others. The beach was a standout — pristine, well-maintained, and one of the cleanest resort beaches we’ve experienced. The pool and beach servers were excellent and very attentive; we received great service every single d [... read more]ay, which really elevated our stay. Elevators were unfortunately a bit of a pain. One elevator was down for our entire stay, which led to longer wait times, especially during busy hours. Room service was quick and convenient, though the night menu could use a bit more variety. We had a great time ringing in the New Year at the rooftop event (additional cost), which was fun and well-organized. While many reviews describe this as a party resort, we felt the daytime pool atmosphere could have benefited from better music to match that reputation. The à la carte restaurants were decent but nothing particularly memorable. That said, we really appreciated how accommodating they were in seating our group of six, which isn’t always easy during a busy holiday week. Overall, Royalton CHIC Cancun is a clean, lively resort in a fantastic location with excellent beach and pool service. With a few improvements, it could easily be a 5-star experience, but we would still recommend it for a fun New Year’s getaway.

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Would Highly Recommend for a Relaxing Vacation

Loved our stay here over the New Year’s holiday. The resort was at very low capacity, so there was a bit of a shortage in staff. No poolside or beach service. Had to go to the bar. The Rooms, the food was amazing, beach is beautiful! It is a very quiet resort so quite relaxing if that’s what you are looking for.

Haven Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort

The hotel is luxurious. My husband and went in 2022 and returned in 2025. Hands down the best resort for New Year’s celebration. Only draw back is that the serenity club gets overbooked and the private areas for club members is not exclusive so there were never any chairs to sit on by the pool.

From the moment we stepped through the front doors we were disappointed. We were not shown to our room and left to navigate the resort on our own. Booking restaurant reservations was a nightmare and quickly discovered you needed to purchase wine in order to get in. Quite the scheme if you ask me. Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Birthday celebration

This resort is very clean and smoothly run. Everyone was very friendly and you're not accosted by Wildlife or sales representatives. We had an issue with our room not being near an elevator which was a must for us. They were able to accommodate us quickly with another room. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on the resort but the gate to enter the resort is not far from the lobby which is where you can go to smoke. Staff were lovely and went above and beyond! Beach was lovely. Service was great. Staff was friendly and hardworking. Been to Mexico 8 times now and each time was a good experience. This resort tried really hard to please tourists and make it feel like home.

The Sens Cancun: Boutique Hotel, vacation package not as advertised but overall good trip

We paid for adults only, hotel was filled with families and small children. Hotel areas and rooms were clean. Ambience during the day and night was lovely. No reservations taken for dinners and therefore had to wait an hour or could not get in. Overall, I didn’t eat like I was at all inclusive. Some staff friendly while most neutral. If you don’t speak Spanish, ultimately, expect different treatment. Beach area was small but nice and clean for most part, with lots of seagulls though. The comfort of the hotel and chill vibes coupled by the gorgeous weather (compared to Canada) and excursion outside of hotel was the highlight of my trip. Booking info on trip central was not fully accurate nor transparent with indications of a mandatory departure tax in Cancun that was not necessary to pay and the requirement not to pay for pre-baggage fees since Sunwing Vacations includes one checked bag. This was not transparent at the booking. I was told I would receive a voucher for these costs.

Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Disappointed

Star class was not worth it, you didn’t actually get any benefits . Reservations were easier to get without star class . Room was dirty sheets had feces took them all off and asked for new ones and they put back the ones with feces. We asked for no maid service while we were there . The mjnibar was never stocked. Shuttle to airport didn’t exist cost us $300 us both ways .Lived Tripcentral up until this trip feel like we were scammed going to stick to air Canada vacations

The Pyramid Cancun: Stay far far away

I don’t write reviews ever but this calls for a warning to anyone going to this resort. Rude staff and poor buffets. A la carts were acceptable. We arrived to be told my pal and I would be staying in a king bed. It took two days to rectify this only due to the fact that our room smelt like someone painted a car in it and I an asthmatic. All of a sudden a room was available with a two double beds. Also, no alcohol after 11pm and the casino is permanently closed.
