Camino Real Zaashila: Graet vacation

This is my fourth stay at the Camino Real Zaashli and it has never disappointed. Great food, excellent service and the views are great! The area is very safe and if you go to town a lot of good restaurants. Will definitely return !

Las Brisas Huatulco: Wonderful Week at Las Brisas

This hotel checks all the boxes .... 11 tennis courts, 4 pickleball (I need to mention Paco Hernandez, the tennis pro - fantastic guy!), a complete gym as well as yoga and pillates classes every day, 3 great swimming beaches, a walk/run path that runs from one end of the property to the other, excellent food, spacious rooms and wonderful service everywhere on the property. There are lots of things to do off the resort as well and town is safe to visit .... go for yourself and discover one of Mexico's treasures.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Anniversary trip

Glad to return to Las Brisas in Huatulco after my first visit three years ago. The hospitality is well done. There is much talent, experience and individual qualities presented through the various hotel departments - a general good feel exists. This recent trip met our expectations, I could not stay away from the water sports so send thanks to the water sports folks.

Barcelo Huatulco: Second visit

Just returned from our week at the Barcelo. Hotel is nicely laid out, smaller than some of the larger resorts but a nice size to meet people. Ocean front rooms are worth the extra charge! We had no complaints about the food, service was always very good and hotel was always spotless. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is the constant loud music. There is though very good Mexican groups playing at the bar at night which is very nice. Would return?

Holiday Inn Huatulco: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

The Good: The hotel is super clean with very friendly helpful staff. Ac worked well. and there were quality towels aplenty. -The food was very good for an all inclusive. This was probably due to the restaurant also being a small private restaurant where folks could buy a meal. Breakfast had a good variety of mexican fare. The lunch and dinners were ala carte .Not a lot of variety but the quality was good and they were open to customisation on your order.. - Your room has a Key card entry s [... read more]ystem working in conjunction with the lights and AC which were activated by the same card by placing it permanently in a slot just inside the door. This helped you to not lose your card in the room and could always be extracted from the holder as you left the room and thereby also turning off the AC and lights. The Bad: The KeyCard worked 90% of the time. When not you had to trek to the front desk for a quick reprogramming. - The pool is small. Only four and a half feet deep. More of a kids pool or one to cool in.There are three tiled recliners semi- submerged for wet sunbathers. If there are kids in the pool forget about using one of those recliners. - the closest beach is one block walk away. Not too bad. - The Bar, the outdoor eating area, entrance to the AC restaurant and washrooms ; fifty percent of the time require you to duck below an overhang of fronds thatching the palapa. This may not sound like much but it gets truly tiring and if you have a bad back its a pain. I'm only 5' 9" . What's painful also is to watch how frustrated the waiters are with it. You ask why they don't just trim it back and they say they would love to but the Boss says no. Stupidity can be painful. Especially when you are trying to take a vacation from it. - Crap drinks that close at 11 pm. All mix drinks were sweet and made with watered down low grade liquor. If you ask why does this taste like sweet water? They will show you the quality liquor bottle, which has been refilled with watered down low grade liquor, and ask what's the problem? My choice at first was gin and tonics. They came sweet even when I would asked for no sugar. Eventually I looked at the can of tonic water and the second ingredient was sugar. From then on I just drank gin on the rocks. The draught beer was the worst ever. You can buy a can though. If you like Mezcal you need to buy it. Doesn't make sense as mezcal in Mexico is so cheap. As cheap as the bad booze they serve. They do have a good variety of all liquors you can pay for though. The tequila was free. We had a glass each and I wouldn't even use it as paint thinner. The Ugly: On the first day I relaxed around the pool. Went in a couple of times to cool off until one the fellow SunWing guests from Victoria stood in the pool spitting and blowing his nose. This went on for awhile. I believe more than that went after but why bother explain. I never went back in.

Barcelo Huatulco: Second Visit to Barcelo Huatulco

Enjoyed our return visit to Barcelo Huatulco very much. Both times we paid a little extra for the ‘Premium Level’, which upgrades the stay to include express check-in in the air conditioned Premium lounge (otherwise its a lineup with everyone else that just got off the bus), wifi (otherwise there is a limit of 1hr/day), ability to book a la carte restaurants for dinner well in advance (otherwise there is a lineup starting at 9am to try to book for that day), preferred room locations, a quie [... read more]t beach lounge chair area (although many folks without the Premium bracelets were using this area), and access to the bartended Premium Lounge with better liquor and a limited wine selection, seating area with big-screen TV, and hot & cold food available throughout the day. The Premium Level isn’t necessary to enjoy this resort, but we appreciated these benefits. The two buffet restaurants offer plenty of choice and are open most of the day. We didn’t try the Japanese a la carte for dinner, but enjoyed the Mexican and Italian restaurants. The service in the Italian was the best and included a musician on the baby grand piano each evening. It’s a cheap 60 peso/10 minute cab ride into town if you want to go in and poke around, shop, or go for an off-resort meal. We were on the hunt for vanilla and found a wide variety of pricing and quality. Ended up paying 180 pesos for 1L of natural vanilla. We looked in the Chedraui (like a Mexican Walmart), but that wasn’t the place to buy vanilla, or booze. Last year we took a catamaran tour which was great and included snorkelling and a stop where a nice beach lunch could be bought... this tour is a pretty good excursion to do in this area. This year we did the city tour, which was OK, but a lot of time spent waiting around for the guides to herd the tour, and scripted stops to flog mescal, woven carpets and jewelry. Would definitely recommend this resort for those looking for a quiet destination. I would not recommend this resort to anyone with mobility limitations. We did see a couple of guests with wheelchairs and walkers, but the resort is not very friendly in this regard.

Barcelo Huatulco: Best beach waiters!

Although we were quite unhappy that our “free wifi” was only one hour a day, we were more than thrilled to have such great waiters deliver drinks to the beach! Even if we only wanted cups of ice and bottles of water, they never complained and brought us anything we asked for! The grounds were kept very clean and well looked after, the rooms were comfortable, clean and the A/C worked great! (Thank goodness!)

Dreams Huatulco: Dreams Hautulco is a Dream!

First let me say that Dreams Huatulco is one of the most beautiful resorts I’ve ever stayed in! Tangolunda Bay is gorgeous. The resort was beautiful and very very clean thanks to the constant efforts of the cleaning staff! The service in all of the restaurants was remarkable! Pleasant and very helpful!! The servers were amazing…… Fast and happy despite the brutal heat, it didn’t matter where you picked to sit, there was always someone to make sure you had all you needed. I need [... read more] to mention Primi, she was incredibly good at her job while still being happy and efficient. All in all I was so impressed with all of the staff and there are hundreds ( at least it seemed that way lol)

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great resort for snorkeling

Huge resort with 50% Canadians and Mexican nationals alike. The bay had 4 beaches, 3 which were able to lay by the beach and swim in. One of the beaches had a reef right off the sand which had even better snorkeling than the tour we did. The food was alright. We preferred the buffet compared to the a la carte restaurants as it had more selection. The seafood was excellent. Desserts were nothing to rave about. The beaches on the Caribbean are more beautiful but Huatulco’s laid back vibe and the lack of seaweed afflicting the Caribbean last few years makes it a better bet we would come back here.

Barcelo Huatulco: Second visit, lovely vacation!

This was our second stay at Huatulco Barcelo, and was very nice. We upgraded to the Premium level, and appreciated access to the private air condition lounge with bartender and TV, and the priority booking of restaurants. Enjoyed food in the buffet and al a cart restaurants. Room was lovely.

Isla Natura Beach: Off season review

Huatulco is a lovely place; great sun and heat. Our price for Isla Natura was great. Pretty plain resort, no Wow factor at receptionist area for being built 2016. Resort seems much much older. Lobby bathroom; was that an after thought? Only one women's washroom stall & one men's washroom stall to accommodate the lobby, staff and lobby bar; same size as hotel room washroom. Hotel lobby & rooms built on hillside & located away from pool, beach & food services. I wouldn't recommend this resor [... read more]t for anyone with mobility issues. You have to hike up & down hill to get to pool area, beach, food services. Washroom for those areas involved more stairs to go down & up. Now there's a shuttle truck to take you up & down the hill but you are on your own with washroom lengthy stairs. If you are a beach lover there are steep steps to walk down to beach. More cabanas in beach area needed. Gym is only cardio equipment, no weights at all. No spinning class or yoga as stated. Hotel Staff was nice but communication can sometimes be a challenge. Breakfast and lunch buffet Mexican style with omelet & pancake station in morning. Fruit was always fresh. Dinner sometimes was a la carte when open & no buffet. We were there at their off peak season; mid November. So daily, meals change; no buffet at lunch most days, so order off a menu if they had it or snack bar menu. We assume because had fewer guests. Rooms clean, beds comfy, everything worked well, air conditioned and ceiling fan. Mini bar stock most times. We always tip our maid daily; maid always left water bottles, pop, juice, once in awhile beer. If no beer then just grab some can beers from bartender to take to your mini fridge.  We tip small amounts of pesos each time. Keep in mind they likely receive a small wage; they were always thrilled and grateful for the tips. Going to other sister resort offered turns out that food and drinks had to be paid for ; wasn't included; so not worth being shuttle there. Quests at that sister resort had to be shuttle to a beach club or our beach, no restuarant for dinner so they had to be shuttle to our resort to eat dinner. Night time lobby bar was open Saturday the day of arrival & Sunday; then was closed till following Friday evening @ 6 p.m. Only one bar by the food services, pool area open, out of 3 bars. Bar seem to be out of beer and booze almost every day. When the bar opened at 11 a.m., you had to wait for beer. You would be waiting for the manager to get back from the store. Manager arrived around 12 & all beer warm. You couldn't get a cold beer for another hour. There was no entertainment ( except at 9: 30 pm Sunday & Friday; Karaoke). If you are looking for a party resort this is not the place. Resort only for the ones wanting quiet & relaxing time. I would not rate this a 4+star resort.

Dreams Huatulco: One of the best resorts i have ever been too.

This resort was very clean, the help was amazing friendly, we couldnt ask for better weather. the food preperation was amazing, liked the idea of how many pools there were and at liest one totaly adult pool.entertainment at the lobby bar was good and lots of different kind of drinks, the washrooms on the resort were clean and working condition and the rooms were very clean. This resort is deffently a return one. LOVE MEXICO.

Dreams Huatulco: Dreams Resort and Spa - exceptional as always

We have been to this resort 4 years in a row. The people that work there are polite, hard workers and very friendly. We have made many friends in the past 4 years going to this resort and there are a lot of return guests every year which is nice to see. This is a very clean resort, exceptional food and service and the view of the ocean and the weather can't be beat. It rarely rains in Huatulco which is one of the reasons we keep going back besides the exceptional service at Dreams. Villablanca Huatulco: Wonderful Hotel

Wonderful small hotel! Great staff! Very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was great. Food was well varietied. Breakfast was included. Coffee was super tasting. Grounds well kept. Not noisy. Pool was super albeit small but had sun and shade. Very close to grocery store. 15 walk to nice beach on a small bay, and 15 min walk to centre of town. Numerous and varied restaurants and friendly people around the town.

Dreams Huatulco: Perfecto

Very friendly staff, beautiful scenery, fun ocean water (waves can get big /strong). The food was also good all around and we enjoyed every restaurant. They clearly aim to please and succeed! The location was also great, with lots of fun things to do close by such as surfing or visiting the town

Secrets Huatulco: Awesome Resort

The views from this hotel are fantastic and pretty breathtaking. Once you register you have to walk thru the SkyView bar which is open air to get to the elevators. This is where you see the view as it is on the top floor. All rooms face the ocean on different levels. The food was great. Beach was awesome although you need water shoes because the sand is sooo hot!! The water was good not too wavy. The people were all super polite and went out of their way to make your stay great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we plan to go back. Super safe little town as well.

Secrets Huatulco: Great vacation resort

First off, Huatulco is very laid back compared to Cancun, PV, etc. Overall this resort was excellent. The facility itself was very clean and good condition. Workers were very polite and helpful. Room was great and the service, like cleaning, restocking was done daily without question. There are 5-6 ala carte restaurants so lots of variety. We had good dining experience in all, well except the Oceanic. Must have been a bad chef day, we finally left and didn't even finish our meal. We are not bi [... read more]g buffet fans, but here it was quite good for breakfast. Never ate at the buffet in the evening, but every night they had a different theme, moved outdoors, etc. Pool area was excellent, clean, neat, and decent bar service. Beach area is hard to beat, lots of covered chairs, sand sand and more sand. No other resorts in site, had the whole bay to ourselves. Nightlife is slow on the resort. A few shows, or a little band, but it was hit/miss if you liked the music. Also don't bother with the "preferred club", definitely not worth the extra $$. The lounge was a tiny room with a couch, snacks that sat out all day long. The buffet was way better than the ala carte breakfast. The couple misc things missing was no big deal, overall very good, and would have no problem returning.

Secrets Huatulco: Our favorite resort in Hualtulco!

The food was great .... we ate breakfast at the buffet and lunch at Castaways mostly but also loved the French restaurant. The staff are friendly and hardworking. The hotel and pools are clean and inviting. We will come again...and again...and again!

Secrets Huatulco: Secrets always gives value..

Service,food and drinks are top notch. Not a bad room on the resort as they all have ocean views and you can hear the waves from any room. It is hot here though, peak temps between 12-3 beg the local tradition of a siesta. Waves on beach out front can be rough, go to the left side. Priced against other resorts, I add value for no towel card, unlimited ala cartes with no reservation, brand name alcohol, no wristband, and great entertainment staff. Always plenty of wildlife to see, just be a littl [... read more]e careful. Make sure you grab a cab downtown and try a little local cooking when your there as well!

Isla Natura Beach: Great Location

This hotel is dated, needs some tlc, but the staff are amazing, helpful, friendly and cheerful. Food was very good although a little repetitive. 2 Beaches very nice, weather was great no rain hardly a cloud in the sky. Sea was a little rough but some people still swam or took fishing trips etc. Entertainment guy was very good, he provided us with music at the pool and in the evenings with dancing and karaoke. 2 pools one for children under the age of 11 years the other for adults and children 11 [... read more]+ pool was clean and quite large with a lovely view of the beach. We both enjoyed our week at Isla Nature Beach.
