Hotel Rooms - Great - Always clean, great view of Marina, Large deck area. ( Fridge did not work but we just ran down and got our drinks if we needed any in our room)
Food - Honestly was expecting better. Maybe set my standards too high. Was good but not great. I love my food so this was important, I'd give it 6 out or 10
Drinks - They didn't skip out on the alcohol content.... Servers were great , attentive, and no concerns
Service - Overall great staff.
Pools - Only 2 - Quiet pool [... read more]was great. Overlooking Marina. Great service. Pool overlooking ocean would have been good but you have buy bottle service to be around pool. As members, this was disappointing. Ended up sitting on beach which was great. Small area to swim but at least you get to go in water to cool off.
Location - The best - Had great hikes daily ( 2 hours each) - highly recommend them all. Rescue Dog shelter hike was amazing, Pedragal ( Sp?) area is beautiful and if you hike up through there you see some amazing homes and hit a different beach ( Not swimmable but beautiful ) which was fantastic - a must see. ( Take water to drink on all hikes - steep at times and gets hot) The Marina was great, tons of restaurants but had too many vendors trying to sell you things. You get immune to it after a day or so, but still not my favourite.
TO DO - Take a cab to San Jose and Do the " Art Walk " - Some amazing talent ! I am not an artist but I enjoyed this immensely. We didn't do the tour and found it very good.

Royal Solaris: Ok resort
All good, but we got a horrible room.
We were suppose to get garden view, we got shipping alley view.
We were suppose to get deluxe room, we got standard room.
We were suppose to get king size bed or two double beds, we got one
double bed. Very frustrating. And they treat us as second d hand citizen
since all they do and want is to trap you into their membership club. Very
frustrating, we have never felt like we are dig shit. After we complained about our room they wanted us to pay extr[... read more]a per day to provide us a better

Riu Santa Fe: Zero stars
I would like to let you know about the experience my husband and I had at your hotel this past week. I realize in life things happen; however, a few things are a definite deal breaker when it comes to vacationing.
Right from the start of our check in things did not go well. We were literally given the wrong room-the names on the envelope were not ours. I had even downloaded the app and checked in prior. We went back and questioned it and were immediately dismissed being told it was a sup[... read more]erior room and they couldn't down grade us, my sister in law had found out we were in building 7 (she was already there ) and this was building 8. We were also told there was no Kingsize beds in building 7 so we had to stay in building 8. (Obviously a total lie ) We stayed that night and went back the next day as we knew it wasn't what we booked. After a very long wait and total confusion from the front desk as she couldn't find us under that room number it was confirmed it wasn't our room and handed us the right envelope with our name on it wasting more of our precious vacationing time as again your lines are long . Went to the next room (3 rooms in total we had to change- the only positive thing was that in the 3rd room there was hot water- none in the previous rooms ) nothing worked, safe, telephone nothing stocked in our fridge/alcohol we were told the room was ready and there was literally a maintenance man in the ceiling upon arrival.
Waited 2 hours for someone to come, which they never did and once again, we went back and put in a formal complaint. Manuel Romero addressed our concerns and really did a fantastic job listening to our concerns. His professionalism and follow through was impressive. He even came and found us a few times poolside. He upgraded us to a ocean view room and sent us a bottle of champagne. Unfortunately, this was not the end of the issues. There is a terrible breakdown in communication at your resort. Every time we asked a question the answer was different or staff was just in general rude. I went to ask a question the night before we left about what time the bus was picking us up. I did not realize we were to go to a Sunwing rep and I spoke with Lupida at the front desk she was not only rude but very disrespectful to my sister in law and I. I understand that we as travelers have some responsibilities to find information, however we weren't told to go find them. At most hotels they have a departure book with times in it. My mistake for thinking that was how It worked at your resort as this is my first experience at a Riu.
The lineups for everything on your resort is unacceptable, drinks, taco stand, front desk etc. My biggest area of concern is the food . At the pasta restaurant I literally found moldy pizza buns (I took a picture) I pointed it out to the staff and they did remove only two of the buns-I asked him to throw all of them out - mold when airborne spreads like dandelion lion seeds , he refused, not sure if your aware but mold on food can cause allergic reactions and respiratory problems in the right conditions just for starters , look up mycotoxins . A lot of food was over cooked, sausages so discusting they looked like they had been left out for days- we took a picture , bacon , Burnt hot dogs and hamburgers -why would you even put this out? Also, undercooked potatoes , very spoiled fruit, lettuce etc. The fish and seafood did not smell right or taste right I tried it upon arrival and immediately spit it out. I avoided most of the meat presented and ate rice and vegetables for the week or we ate off resort. My question to your establishment is do you have food safety regulations? Someone is going to get very sick if this continues. The food was consistently cold no matter where you ate, or stale. There is hot/cold holding regulations. Meat Should be constantly temped. Honestly you can do better! This is not a place I would ever come back to or visit a different Riu.
Also what's up with the WiFi? Always down or went in and out. Just a really bad experience I will not recommend. Zero stars. Absolutely discusted and disappointed. I'm wondering if this should go to social media. M&L Dunn

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: The staff were fantastic!
This was my third visit to the Royal Decameron in Los Cabo’s. It is a smaller resort which we prefer. We felt as safe with their COVID protocols. The staff were constantly cleaning all the surfaces. We were required to wear masks indoors and while getting food from the buffet. The staff served the food from behind plexiglass, which was a bit annoying because they often piled too much on our plates and the food didn’t always stay hot by the time you sent to the different stations, but un[... read more]derstandable. The pools were clean and you could always find a chair. A few more umbrellas would be nice. Overall the resort is getting a little tired. It could use some sprucing up in some areas but it was nice and clean and the staff were amazing. Everyone from the front desk, the restaurant staff, the bartenders to the cleaning staff bent over backwards to ensure we had a good time.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Fantastic
I must give a huge shout out to Jessica and German who are part of the animation team. Juan, the bartender at the pool bar and the staff all around were incredible. It was so nice to be a part of living with other people after this stupid covid thing and this is the resort to do it at. I highly recommend this resort but you have to bring your fun side with you in order to get the most out of your experience here.

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Not what expected
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. My husband and I travel 12 weeks every year so we aren’t knew to all inclusive resorts. This was by far the worst we have stayed at. The room itself was nice but everything else I can’t even explain! It would take to long, do yourself a favour and book somewhere else.

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Good value for Money
The resort itself was quite good. Pleaseing aesthestics and the Food was almost always good. Pools were clean and very well maintained. Our room was nice, although the water was not warm enough for showers. Ancilliary services, however were lacking. There was little availability of staff to figure out how things worked- everything from which restaurant required reservation; guidance on Covid tesing on site. And we had to line up for everything. The staff that were present were great- but m[... read more]ore staff is needed. Perhaps this issue is related to the pandemic- but I was not thinking we would have to spend so much time in lines. The largest issue we had was the very late playing of dance music ( 3 am) for participants of a conference that was occurring. We heard a number of crying babies/ toddlers and for a family based resort I am not sure the allowance of loud music so late at night was a wise choice. Otherwise, there were not many activities in the evening and I suppose this could be expected for this kind of resort.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Simply fantastic!
We went as a family of 5, with three teens and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The service was 5 star, the food was excellent, the grounds amazing. It was also nice to have the two bigger pools as one was devoted more to families with kids, having fun (games, water polo, etc.) with lots of music. The other pool was a little quieter if you were looking for a nap, tanning or reading time. The swim up pools were always busy with the teenage crowd (it WAS March break!).
It's about a 3km wal[... read more]k along the beach to the marina of San Jose. The undertow and surf is exceptionally strong in front of the resort so I wouldn't recommend it for swimming. That was the only thing our kids were disappointed about. However, the water park with all its slides made up for it. We had access to all 3 Riu resorts.
Mornings we went and found a lovely little nook at the Cafe with an amazing view of the resort, the beach, the Pacific, the distant rocks, and all the boat and cruise ship activity. We could even see whales in the distance!
We also used one of the gyms but found it a tad on the small side and it should have had more mat space. There is another gym for cardio with a view of the ocean and beach, however we didn't use it.
We did 2 day trips, snorkelling and whale watching, as well as took a taxi to the marina and went shopping at the flea market one day. We enjoyed watching someone feed a sea lion on the dock while lots of pelicans tried to steal its food. There was lots of activity and restaurants, bars to stop at along the docks.
All in all, the weather was amazing and we had an awesome trip!

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Nice, Clean Friendly Atmosphere
The hotel was nice and close to the airport so no long bus ride after a long flight. We found the grounds, pool, rooms all to be extremely clean. We loved the roof top pool and bar! The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only issue was our minibar fridge did not work so they took it out and never did replace it.

Riu Palace Baja California: Fun time but not 5*s
The Riu Palace Baja California is a good resort but should not be rated 5 stars. We had a great vacation due to meeting great people and the proximity to the marina. Pros - all staff were very professional about the Covid guidelines and the process for the PCR test was easy just expensive, it was nice to visit all 3 sister resorts, proximity to marina, rooms r nice and new, breakfast buffet is good. Cons- definitely not 5 star, the a la cartes we not great and [... read more]not consistent, we have had better food at 3 1/2 star reaorts, the drinks were not great or consistent, or selling this as a 5 star the top shelf alcohol was not top shelf, drinks at the pool or by day were very watered down, this resort just doesn’t have the perks and added touches to be rated 5 stars

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach: interesting experience...not sure it's one to be repeated
The hotel was massive, not easily walkable.
This resort (whether a new model or just new to me) was very frustrating as an all inclusive. Every time you went anywhere, ordered a drink, got a snack, sat down to a meal, you were presented with a bill. The bill was zeroed out but was asking you to authorize a 15 or 20% tip. The process was lengthy and frustrating and meant you couldn't come and go and leave a tip for service for your actual waiter. We made the mistake of going to a location that [... read more]wasn't apparently included, it was the deli for a sandwich which is ridiculous that it wasn't included and got stuck with a $15 USD bill for a sub par sandwich. Being in destination for NYE we expected to eat as normal and perhaps enjoy an activity after dinner. What we didn't expect was that every restaurant on resort was charging a minimum $50 - $75 USD per person fee to have a regular menu meal. We were very frustrated and essentially demanded a meal and were eventually given a table at no charge. We were not looking for a special meal just dinner as we had paid for in the all inclusive package. There was little mask compliance on resort by guests, no enforcement by staff and and buffets remained self serve which we were surprised by. This limited our meal choice further. Finally, there were absolutely no entertainment options. No live music, no show, the after club was a tiny room with sports bar/screens everywhere not a place to go and dance or enjoy.
Aqua Bar 29 was the highlight of the trip and one of the few positives I can share. Miguel, Carlos, Omar and Victor were lovely and accommodating.

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach: SUNWING Who?
We booked this all-inclusive 5* vacation through SUNWING Vacations, we felt that we had been very well cared for during the booking process and flight, until we arrived in destination. Upon arrival, check-in was long and confusing, our covid PCR test booking was sketchy, we were given no information from the resort in terms of resort map, activity schedule, booking excursions etc. We tried to find a Sunwing rep that evening, the next day and a couple of other times during our stay. At no point,[... read more] did we find a rep, in fact, resort employees at the check-in desk and the concierge had NO idea who SUNWING was!! We used our sunwing app to book an excursion. The driver never showed up. We had to use the concierge phone in order to be on hold for an hour before finally speaking with someone. We eventually got picked up, rescheduled our excursion and then at the last minute were charged extra money, in cash in order to complete our trip! That was the first and last time that we will work with SUNWING, who??

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach: NO COVID protocols were enforced, we contracted covid at this resort, however, beautiful property and great food and service but
We have been very safe all throughout the whole pandemic and had come to believe that the resorts had put into place all things that they could to ensure the safety of their guests, particularly at such a large highly starred property. Not the case here at Pueblo Bonita Sunset!!! Surprisingly, the buffets were open, they were self serve, a la carte restaurants were at full capacity as were the pools and bars and any other spot. Not to mention MOST guests were not wearing masks during any event [... read more]or on any part of the resort. In fact, there were many, many unvaccinated guests more than happy to share that with you. Personal space and distancing were not respected by other guests at all. Although the resort had posted signs regarding masking and distancing and the employees were mostly masked, these "rules" were not monitored and there was not one bit of enforcement of these protocols. We became quite overwhelmed by the lack of concern and were not able to fully enjoy our vacation as a result. In fact, we arrived home with symptoms and on day 3 of being home and isolating, we have all TESTED POSITIVE for COVID 19 as a result of staying at this resort.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Despite some awesome staff & scenery I’ll never go again.
The Preferred Room “looked great†the house keeping staff didn’t clean our room one out of the three days we stayed despite us asking them twice. My gold chain went missing at the spa, I was charged for a dinner they couldn’t accommodate, the pool was not heated and the food was sub par for a 5 star resort. Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Beautiful locale
We had a group of eight go down for my daughter’s champagne birthday. The facilities were beautiful! The staff was very friendly and the resort was quite clean. Only issues were the buffet was very hit or miss and my swim up room ended up having a leaky ceiling in the bathroom due to the guests upstairs. The a la carte restaurants were not always open and seemed to have portioning/ supply issues some days. Granted this was during a pandemic that we were there and I am quite certain they were [... read more]not fully staffed or booked. I would give them another try once the world gets past COVID.
