Starfish St Lucia is in the perfect spot. Beautiful beach and close to mall casino bars and restaurants. No need for taxis. The only complaint we had and many others was that they kept running out of things. You couldn’t get certain drinks they didn’t have for example bananas or they ran out of beer and ice and that was early when pool bar just opened. They didn’t seem to care (probably sick of people complaining)
Other then that it was a great week with beautiful weather. Rooms were a l[... read more]ittle old but not that bad and the bed was comfy.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Resort was absolutely beautiful and well maintained
The resort was absolutely beautiful BUT they ALWAYS ran out of things. You ask for a Mohito they are out of mint. You ask for oatmeal that is an item on the breakfast menu, they are out of Oatmeal, I ordered the salmon burger from the Sports Bar, they are all out of salmon burgers, I ordered pizza with prosciutto and arugula from the Italian restaurant, they give you plain pizza with prociutto NO arugula, they ran out. I went to the coffee bar and ordered a specialty coffee, they ran out of[... read more] whip cream. I went to the food truck ordered Nachos, they ran out of Nachos. It didn't matter which restaurant or bar I went to, they always ran out of something everyday all week long. It took me 20 minutes to get a drink as the pool bar tender kept serving others that came after me, instead of him asking who is next.
The Hideaway areas adults only but they are (not adults-only) We paid for adults only and it was NOT because we had to go over to the Royalton to have dinner, where it is full of children and all the pool areas have children as well.
Far from St. Lucia’s main attractions and far from the Airport
Noise from the amphitheater can be heard in the room and wanting to turn in early was not an option because of the noise.
We had an ocean-view room and you only get glimpses of the water
We could not swim in The Ocean because of sea urchins, jelly fish and some fish rock that stings you, we were called out of the water every time someone got stung.
Service is extremely slow
Definitely NOT worth the money paid
The resort ITSELF is absolutely beautiful and well maintained, but service was absolutely brutal most of the time.
The plus side is the A la Carte restaurants they can accommodate you without a reservation so depending on how you feel when its time for dinner you just show up and they seat you, which was great.
There was always chairs to be found around the pool areas without any problems, which was great
The rooms are spacious and clean, we got free WiFi throughout the resort which was great, we can call home from the room at no charge which was great.
The best People working there were:
1) Amanda our concierge in building 3 - lovely and always listening to us complain
2) Sammy at the Martini Bar, very friendly, happy guy, genuinely wonderful
3) Kertain at the omelette station, he is amazing, just plain wonderful, fast, efficient, great personality, lovely guy
4) Jenna serving around the pool area, always taking care of us when we were around the pool, lovely young lady
It is sad that I can only acknowledge so few people that actually made an impact on us in a whole week, we are frequent travelers and we have never experienced the running out of food and products along with the poor, slow service.

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Great resort
Overall I was very happy with this resort. The rooms were clean and the most of the staff were very nice. The beach was always raked in the morning and had plenty of chairs. The resort was not that busy when we were there so I’m not sure how crazy it would be when the resort was full. The drinks were slightly disappointing and I am not a big drinker however the drink of the day was the same all week and there was no menu to advertise their special drinks..... the restaurants were good however [... read more]make sure you do your reservations for the whole week. We wanted to do the pizza place on the Saturday and it was closed but she never suggested anywhere else and come Saturday the palms restaurant(only non reservation) wasn’t open and we had no reservation for anywhere else...the front desk got us in at the pier restaurant right away. If you are a coffee or tea drinker get your morning drink at the cafe that opens at 6:30am as the water is hot...at most the water for your coffee or teas in the palms restaurant is tepid at best.....Pool area is great and and water sports were fun and plentiful...staff friendly......I like the fact it’s smaller and everything is walkable without have to travel for miles from front lobby to beach......overall a very nice resort and would go back again.....

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: WONDERFUL VACATION!!!
THIS HOTEL IS VERY NICE, THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD WITH LOTS OF CHOICES FOR EVERYONE. THE STAFF HERE WAS ALOT OF FUN AND INTERACTED WITH THE GUESTS WHICH IS WONDERFUL--THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL, POLITE, FUN, AND REALLY MADE FOR AN ENJOYABLE HOLIDAY.
LOVED THE LAYOUT OF THIS RESORT, PLENTY OF BARS, RESTAURANTS, BATHROOMS BY THE POOLS, LOUNGERS, UMBRELLAS THAT YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO GET UP AT THE CRACK OF DAWN TO SAVE.
LOVED THAT YOU DIDN'T NEED RESERVATIONS AT THE RESTAURANTS ( EXCEPT JAPANESE). [... read more]NEVER HAD TO WAIT TO BE SEATED, RESTAURANTS WERE NEVER OVERCROWDED AND ALWAYS LOTS OF STAFF ON HAND.
AFTERNOON ENTERTAINMENT BY THE POOLS WAS ALWAYS ENJOYABLE, THE STAFF WORKS REALLY HARD TO MAKE SURE YOU WANT FOR NOTHING AND KEEP YOU VERY ENTERTAINED THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
COUPLE STAFF MEMBERS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE OUR HOLIDAYS A MEMORABLE ONE--MARLON, JOHNNY AND STEPHEN AT THE HIDEWAY POOL BAR, TRAVIS AT THE ITALIAN RESTAURANT, JELONIE AT THE ROOFTOP BAR AND THE ENTIRE STAFF AT THE SEAFOOD GRILL FOR MAKING MY HUSBANDS BIRTHDAY SO WONDERFUL. I AM SURE THERE ARE MANY MORE HARD WORKING STAFF BUT THESE ARE THE ONES THAT STOOD OUT FOR US.
THE VIEWS OF THE OCEAN ARE AMAZING AND THE RESORT REALLY DID A GREAT JOB WITH THE DESIGN OF THIS RESORT TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF ALL THESE AMAZING VIEWS.
OVERALL THIS WAS ONE OF OUR MOST RELAXING HOLIDAYS EVER!!!
I WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN TO THIS HOTEL AND FOR SURE WOULD RECOMMEND IT!!

Rooms were very nice, except our friends room the air conditioning did not work, they had to ask three times to have it fixed, and when they got it fixed it only worked for one day and then stopped working again.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Hideaway at Royalton Saint Lucia
Overall this was a beautiful resort, however, you need to be prepared for service that is not the fastest where you sometimes can wait up to an hour to be seated at a specialty restaurant and another hour to receive your drinks and appetizers. Bar service was variable; if you stay in the hideaway section, the service at the beach bar (including the grill) is amazing, but if you are at the main pool, be prepared to wait and wait and have others served around you. I understand they have a high t[... read more]urnover in staff, so this might be part of the issue.
There are plenty of pools (and pool bars that people stay in all day drinking and drinking and you can figure the rest out) and smoking policies for designated areas only but not enforced by security or staff where people smoke at the bar and pool all day. Concierge service was outstanding and they ensured they knew your name and asked you daily how you were doing and what they could do to make it better. This was the customer service I had hoped for.
This resort has plenty of specialty dining and activities, pool etc, but the beach is quite rocky with very sharp rocks and water is rough which makes it difficult for swimming. Bring water shoes with you to protect your feet.
Overall, I would consider this resort again, and am hoping since the resort is only a few years old, they will work out some of the issues with time.

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort
This is the best resort I have been so far. We were a group of 30 people and had an amazing time. Very clean and relaxing. Staff was great but service was slow. The food was great everywhere. Lots of pools and the water park for the kids was amazing. The only bad thing is far from the airport and the road wasn't so pleasant

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Amazing trip!
My partner and I really enjoyed our trip in August 2019. The food was excellent, the grounds were stunning (albeit hilly- not for those who won't like to walk a bit), the beach was crystal clear and expansive, the service was great (though the constant up sells got old very fast) and our room was nicely updated with an ocean view even though we thought it was going to just be a garden view. Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Loved this resort!!
There are so many wonderful things about this resort that I would like to mention.
Rooms....I have to say that the beds were the MOST comfortable beds I have slept on in a long time. I have a bad back and never had any problems with my back at all, the entire week I was there. Housekeeping was very good, always making sure to replace things that we used (coffee, tissues, etc). You do get 2 small bottles of water in your room on the first day, but we brought refillable stainless steel bottle[... read more]s for our water, and were able to fill our bottles at many locations around the resort.
Food...I have to say that the food was absolutely delicious at the Palms (buffet) restaurant. I enjoyed the many different themed lunches and dinners. We ate dinner at Tree Top once, which was so good and filling...did not have room for dessert LOL. We also had dinner at the Pier on our last night. It was just ok....I think I would have preferred the Palms buffet (I heard I missed an amazing Seafood themed night...darn).
Grounds....The grounds are very well kept and clean. There are a lot of steps and hills here, but that was just fine....made having that little extra at dinner even more worth it. If you have mobility issues, there are plenty of golf carts to take you around to where you would like to be. The beach was nice. Lots of activity with the water sports that are available for free. I've never been on a resort where you got to have Banana Boat rides for free. They even offer water skiing for free. I had never been before so they had me take a beginner lesson first (I was happy that they were concerned about our safety first). Once they were satisfied that I knew what I was doing, they let me go and try....happy to say that I got up on my first try LOL (although I was quite nervous). They also give Hobi Cat (small catamaran) lessons and once they see you can handle it, they let you take them out without a guide. Fun!! There were plenty of beach loungers, so we never had a problem finding a couple with an umbrella (yes, you want an umbrella as that sun gets really hot LOL). The pool had plenty of activity but I have to confess, I didn't even dip my foot is since the beach is not even 100 feet away. I love the beach!! The resort is not large, but not too small either. Personally, it was the perfect size :)
STAFF....Amazing!!!! Everyone was very nice and so helpful, whenever we had questions or needed anything. I have to give a special shout out to the bar staff at Sunset Lounge - Kevin, Germain, Craig, were the BEST bartenders I have seen. They rocked that bar. We had rain on Wednesday so the weekly Beach BBQ entertainment was moved to the Sunset Lounge, bringing everyone from the resort to this one location. These guys were mobbed with people wanting drinks, for hours, and they never missed a beat. My friend and I were once bartenders and were quite impressed with how quickly they were serving everyone (making blender drinks, pouring beers, making special cocktails etc).
Overall, this resort, and the people that work hard every day to make it what it is, was GREAT!!! I am hoping to return again!!

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: An amazing resort for the best vacation!
This resort is amazing (starting with the greeting in the lobby from Nathan), and I really can't say enough about it, other than we can't wait to go back!
The resort was beautiful! We went during the "rainy" season, and it didn't even phase us. The rain lasted a few minutes, and then it was gone for hours or the rest of the day. The facilities, rooms (with AC and balconies), amenities, and grounds were always clean and tidy, and you could ask anyone for assistance at anytime. It is a mountain[... read more]ous island, so there are some uphill paths, mostly to the rooms, but there are carts and drivers that can take you back and forth upon request if needed.
Service was beyond amazing; even a drink on the beach didn't take long to get! The staff were always professional, friendly, helpful, and so nice to have a conversation with at any time. Saint Lucia is just filled with beautiful people! Shout out to Craig at the bar for a great time!
The amenities and activities were vast as well, for adults and kids. There were always a few staff members around to help coordinate games or to even participate with you! Shout out to Lay for getting the dancing started at night! Kids had their own play area and even a shallow pool area with slides, but it was just as comfortable for adults with food (including ice-cream cones), washrooms, great views, and a bar too.
The food was excellent and lots of things to choose from for any food pallet! The main restaurant, the Palms, was never disappointing. The birds also provided some entertainment while eating. Another popular dining spot on the resort was Treetops. Le Jardin is a extra cost, but the food was delicious and totally worth it. The other two restaurants on the resort, Morgan's Pier and Bambou, were OK, but we would choose the other three over them.
The beach was lovely as well, but a small rocks in spots, so watch where you step. Lots of sailing equipment, paddle boats, paddle boards, water skiing, jet ski rentals ($60US/30mins). There is an adult only pool at the top of the cliff with a fully stocked bar and breath-taking views of the entire bay.
For pure relaxation, the spa was very peaceful and the massages and facials started our vacation off just right!
I would totally recommend booking the Joy Cruise down by the beach. It is an absolute blast! Shout out to JJ and Joy!! Bring an old bathing suit and swim socks if you do go!

Starfish Saint Lucia: Basic but adequate for price
Stayed June 1 to 8th 2019
We knew before we left it was not a fancy place but it was for the most part fairly clean and adequate.
The first room they took us to smelled very moldy. With my allergies I knew I could not stay there. The bell hop offered to have it cleaned but I think it needed more than that! After a long wait, .. the took us to the second room which also had a bit of musty smell but we found out later why. When you used the shower or bath it there was a water puddle in the roo[... read more]m. Obviously a drain issue. We told the maid but she said we had to call front desk We never bothered because we did not want to change rooms again.
The food at the restaurants were just ok, …nothing special ever.
There is usually a fish choice and a meat choice at the buffet. Both meat and fish usually overcooked. One night they were supposed to have turkey but I guess they ran out and served dry chicken again! Fruit was a big bonus when available. Wax apples, etc were good but man … the bananas were awesome!
Service in the hotel was hit and miss. Some really nice servers, … and some really poor ones.
The oriental restaurant had decent offerings but we both felt ill after eating at the Italian.
The pool was always nice and clean. Unfortunately the whole pool is only 3’ deep
Beach was very nice. Good clean sand and nice spot roped off for swimming.
The bars were a bit awkward. The lobby bar was open noon to 3 then 6-12 pm. If you wanted a pop or drink in between 3 and 6pm you had to go to the pool bar to get a small plastic water glass full of whatever you were drinking. If they thought you were going to the beach it was a flimsy single use plastic glass. Very wasteful and tacky!
Activities around the pool were led by someone shouting into a microphone. Very irritating Nightly entertainment was really bad.
Trying to tip was a challenge. Front desk never had small American bills and neither did the staff. They offered to convert to their money but I wasn’t about to learn a new currency. It ended up saving me a lot of money. I made sure to tip the good servers well but the others I didn’t bother.
The best part of the trip was our bus driver Matheus. He collected us at the airport and gave us a great history lesson on the 1-1/2 hour trip to the hotel. Including may tips about getting around the island by ourselves. Many on the same bus booked the Land and Sea day trip on Tuesday and we were lucky enough to get the same bus driver for that! We asked and got him again for the return trip to the airport. What a wonderful person, historian and ambassador to his island!
Driving on the island can be treacherous! There are no guard rails and in the mountains there are many switch backs and places where you look out the window and can not see a shoulder, …. Just 100’ drop!
I was more than happy to leave it to a professional, … and Matheus was obviously one of the best!
One tip he gave us was that to get to the market, … it was quite safe to take the bus to the market for $3 EC. just be sure to ask where you catch the return bus. He also said that going on your own past the market was not advised, .. there was nothing more to see but safety might be in question. Some friends we met did go to the market and walked beyond and said it was not very comfortable feeing.
I wouldn’t go out of my way or pay too much to return to this hotel but if others were going,, … I might join them!
Rumors have it that it may be bulldozed and rebuilt, so we may never get a chance!
One thing I really liked was there were very few smokers and most used the smoking area near the beach. thank you!

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Great Resort
This resort is very clean and well kept. The staff are friendly and smile and say hello every time they see you. We went at the beginning of June so it wasn’t busy at all and we didn’t have to wait at any restaurant lineups etc. The one thing I was disappointed with was when I called room service and they told they were sold out of peanut butter and the inventory wasn’t coming for a few days. This was a lie because I ended up seeing peanut butter jars everywhere the next morning at the buf[... read more]fet and I also got peanut butter from the cafe that same night. The cafe has a peanut butter milkshake so how could the resort be sold out of peanut butter? They basically lied to me and I don’t know why. I needed the peanut butter for my picky kid who needs it in his cereal every morning. Also, sometimes at the buffet, they didn’t come around for water or coffee and we had to ask. But overall, a clean place and great for kids as well with lots of pools. I found the beach to be smaller than some other places I have visited. The location is also very far from the airport. It is a 1.5 hour drive to the resort from the airport.
