Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Disapointed

Booked prefered club, room was bad( very poor lighting and tropical view was the fence dividing the resort from next property), food at alacartes was bad( no flavor and poorly cooked), most drinks were bad(everything was too sweet or you had to ask for double alcohol to taste it), vacation club reps were a total pain in the rear( had to get nasty with them to get them to leave us alone). Buffet was good, beach was good , service was good. Resort is narrow and cramped with not much to see as far  [... read more]as the grounds are concerned.Vendors on the beach sat at the edge of the property like vulchers waiting for you to leave so they could pounce on you. Prefered club lounge is very small . No internet cafe or business center that I saw so make sure you bring your own laptop or tablet. Not enough here to make me want to go back or recommend it to anyone.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Overall, our experience was good.

This was our first time to Dominican Republic. Overall the resort is nice. It is good for people who do not want to walk a lot to get from one place to another. All activities, shops, restaurants, casino, lobby and bar are off the main outside palazzi. This is a smaller resort. For the most part, the a la carte restaurants are good. You can sit back and relax and they don't rust you with the exception of the Bluewater Grill. It is loud, they seem very rushed, the waiters yell to one another  [... read more]in the restaurant over you, and they kind of throw your meals down in front of you. Certainly not a fine dining experience at all. The other restaurants are a bit more refined. The Barefoot Grill down at the beach, just couldn't keep up all week. Could never have all the hot items ready at the same time. Such a long process in the cooking. They need one person just making fries, and they need more than one fryer down there. Only one guy down there doing all the cooking. They need to find a way to be more efficient. The buffet, we only ate at breakfast and I have to say, the buffet is looking very tired. I don't think it has had a makeover since opening in 2007. The colour, décor, table and chairs need to be changed up. The rooms are spacious as well as the bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable. I think they have a pillow top on them. Our jet tub did not work, and the hotel information binder and door signs were missing from our room when we checked in. The rooms were very clean and the maid service was good. The evening entertainment was very enjoyable. Especially the Fire show on the beach, and the Circus Night. Don't miss these two shows if you go. Overall, our experience was good. A had higher expectations, but I will still rate it as good. Stayed November 2016, travelled with family

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Disapointed

The Now Larimar was a disapointment. The food at the alacartes was mediocre,the vacation club sales reps were a pain in the ass, drinks were not very good as most were too sweet to drink more than one, prefered club room was very small with crappy view of service road and fence to next door property, no internet room so you had better bring your own,night time shows were not very good as they were just the same dancing with a different theme name. Now Garden Punta Cana: Spectacular Service!

Now Garden is a very nice resort. It's set apart from Now Larimar and offers (for the most part) peace and tranquility. For more action, just head down to Larimar. The service & staff at this resort were exceptional. We had a swimup room which gave us a small lawn area and direct access to the pool - loved every minute of it. And Pedro the bartender made frequent rounds right to our 'lawn' to make sure we always had drinks. The beach (accessed from Now Larimar) was stunning. Although both No [... read more]w Garden and Now Larimar are on the same resort, it's about a 4 minute walk between resorts, or you can jump on a golf cart, which ran every few minutes. The a la cart restaurants were good - some better than others, but all of the food was good. Our favs were the Grillhouse and the Mexican. Buffet was repetitive and didn't differ much between lunch and supper but always lots to choose from. The room service was a really nice touch and yummy! Now Garden offers a buffet breakfast (great omelette station!) an a la cart menu for lunch - also very good. The entertainment team was spectacular. Very talented, funny and engaging. And they worked non-stop throughout the day and evening. The beach party (with the fire show) was awesome, as was the circus night. We did have some issues with the room (hot tub not working, room temperature too cold) but these were quickly resolved with a phone call. A downside to the rooms is an open concept bathroom with swinging doors to the toilet and shower stalls. Not very private if travelling with anyone other than your spouse. There is a closet but no dressers/drawers to put clothing in - which would have been nice. The most disruptive part of the trip was the influx of weekend guests (from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon) who were quite loud and inundated the pool area and the swim up bar to the point where you couldn't get a seat. They also ran the halls at all hours and everything can be heard through the doors. I would recommend this hotel, and I would definitely return. The pros far outweighed the cons.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Excellent 5 Stars!

Wow, is all I can say about this resort! The food is amazing, they have a lot of variety of a la carte restaurants. Our favourites were the Cibu (Mediterranean) and the Blue Water Grill (outdoor restaurant and overlooking the beach). The staff are exceptional! They go above and beyond! The pool is huge and clean. The beach is fantastic other than some seaweed but they have staff cleaning it all day everyday! The rooms were very nice, cleaned well everyday and well stocked with pop, beer and lots [... read more] of water! What makes this resort better than most resorts I have been too are the food and the staff! I would definitely return to this resort!

Now Garden Punta Cana: Lots of fun!

This hotel was beautiful. It is a family resort which I was worried about since this was out first getaway without our girls. I was worried it wouldn't feel like a honeymoon, which simply wasn't true. We didn't even notice that it was a family resort so I'm glad we didn't pay the extra money for Now Larimar as both were very the same. The rooms were clean and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and we only had one issue when several staff were standing around for 15-20 minutes instead of  [... read more]driving the golf cart to transport people to Now Larimar, which is where everything (resturant, entertainment and the beach) is located. My husband had words with them and off we went. Our eating experience was not the best. We struggled with Carnival (buffet food) but enjoyed a la carte at the grill, Tamarindo (my personal favorite) and the beach grill. I think this is because we are used to Canadian foods. The grounds are beautiful and clean. Well taken care of. No garbage. There is a smell that's blown in from the stagnant lake nearby. It's not that bad, and it's just natural. Not the hotels fault. My husband was put off by the fact that we had to wait and take a golf cart to get to anything, but I didn't find this to be too much of a bother. My biggest warning: Do not use the hot tubs. I came home with Hot Tub Rash from the tub on the balcony (which was what I was most excited for!)

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Wonderful Vacation

The grounds were well kept and were constantly being maintained by staff. Staff very friendly and always wanting to make sure your stay was outstanding. The pool area was large and pool service was exceptional. All the restaurants very good with the Hibachi restaurant our favourite. The entertainment team did a great job and got guests involved. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Staff was amazing kind helpful. Hotel is beautiful, our room was in the 900 block which is right beside the adult pool. We really liked the preferred club very nice light snacks, drinks and coffee. Family pool was busy and louder but lots of activity to keep,you amused. It was so nice not to get up at 6 am to try to find a chair, there was always lots around. One very unexpected charge was ,as soon as we walked in they charged our card $300 damage charge immediately, which i think the agent [... read more] should have informed us about! This was not given back until after check out. It's very slippery grounds,I slipped my first day and saw numerous people thru the week slipping. Although our agent said she was there she was unaware of a lot of things.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Will continue to return

The Now Sapphire Riveria Maya is an amazing resort. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and kept immaculate. The rooms are great, clean , comfortable and all buildings are close to beach and restaurants. The food was amazing, whether at the different restaurants, the buffet, or the pool lunch bar. I returned and saw old friends, made new ones and cant wait to go back again. The entertainment team was wonderful as well. This is my second visit to this resort and I will be going back for a third. It is very easy to get to everything and because it is smaller you interact more with staff and guests. Great food and the staff can't do enough for you.

We went to now sapphire for 3 nights 4 days and had a great time ! Huge pool and excellent service . Food was good ! Overall my first impression of Mexico was amazing and I would recommend going here to anyone that was looking for a great destination

The resort was clean and well staffed, the room was good but not great, the bathroom had mould on the tile and was starting to show age, not the same quality as my past experience at the Dreams Tulum. The food was excellent and the waiters were fantastic. The grounds were in excellent shape and the beach areas well groomed and looked after, the beach and ocean was good except for low tide where there was an excessive amount of seaweed but not at the hotels control. Same vendors 3 time in a week selling the same old stuff.Hotel shops were expensive like everywhere but cheaper than I expected. $12 US for a bag of Lays chips...yikes. Now Garden Punta Cana: Wonderful vacation

My husband and I stayed at this resort for a week with my sister and nephew and had a great time. We stayed at the Garden which was nice an quite but had access to the Larimar as well which had all kinds of activities! The food was very good and we really enjoyed the Asian and Italian restaurants. Our only complaint is that the hotel's website states that there are batting cages and a rifle range which there was not. Also, there was a fee for the bowling which is not indicated on the website [... read more]. We would definitely recommend this property.

Now Garden Punta Cana: Great Resort!

Hotel grounds are beautiful! Rooms are nice, bathroom set up is a bit different, but was clean! Food was very good throughout the resort! Website says they have batting cages and archery and rifle range and they do not have any of those things! All pools are nice and beach area is great!

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: An excellent family vacation

We stayed at the Now from July 30-Aug 6th and had an incredible week. From the time we checked in to the time we left, I can’t say enough about this resort. Check in was easy and we were greeted a warm smile and cold cocktail. Our room was ready and we were in room 1320. This was a great location; it was close to the main building and not to far from the pool and beach. The room was very quiet and we had a beautiful balcony surrounded by lush trees. I’m recovering from shoulder surg [... read more]ery and sleep better on my own, so the hotel quickly ordered another bed for the room, which was an oversized and very comfortable twin bed. We love the fact that the hotel didn’t require wristbands, reservations for the restaurants or towel cards. I read the reviews and expected waits at the restaurants so we went early. We never had to wait long and on the one occasion that we did wait, they provided us with a pager so that we could go for a walk, the wait was only about 20 minutes. We enjoyed all of the dining options, with the favorite being Cibu and the Blue water grill. I’m a vegetarian and had really nice options. My son and husband enjoyed the selection of seafood and meats with the variety always changing. Cocktails were easy to get and if you wanted them a little stronger, this was always provided or you could choose from many delicious choices without alcohol. The service is outstanding, so many amazing team members that go above and beyond to make your stay the best possible experience. A few tips – bring strong sun screen, rent a car and do Tulum on your own. It was safe, easy and you could go at your own pace. We stopped at a Cenote and in Playa del Carmen. I brought snorkel gear but didn’t use it.. I did bring a spring float and this was great as the resort only has a few floats. Get your chairs early in the morning for the best selections. We walked to Puerto Morelos – had an amazing massage on the beach by Sara – I think it was the third massage place down the beach about a minute or two before town. This was the best massage I’ve ever had!! The walk was about 30-40 minutes. We did cab it back for $12.00 Us. Town had nice people, cute shops and is safe to walk to during the day down the beach. We brought pecos, but I would just do US in the future – I was way to confused from CDN and US is excepted everywhere. Enjoy your stay, embrace the people and I hope you enjoy as much as we did!!
