Wonderful staff, top-notch room, great beach

We really enjoyed our two week stay at the Pullman. I thought that the staff were particularly good, especially in the buffet. For example, they would bring you coffee soon after you sat down for breakfast and would refill your cup as soon as needed. The story was similar with the wine at lunch/dinner and we found the servers to be accommodating to our needs and very pleasant. Also, I found the cleaning staff, particularly those who made up the rooms each morning, did a top notch job. The ro [... read more]om was fairly large, modern and in our case, overlooked the ocean, which was ideal. We loved the beaches, which allowed us to walk for a number of kilometres in one direction. My husband played volley ball most days, which he loved, and I really enjoyed the stretching/meditative yoga.

Awesome resort!

We visited the Pullman Cayo Coco from Dec 9-16. We absolutely loved it. The staff are friendly and the service was great. Very clean rooms and resort grounds. Beach is spectacular. We will definitely be back.

Great resort!

the hotel grounds were always being cleaned. It was a nice resort with a nice lay-out for food and bars. The pools were placed closely too. Staff treated us great and lots to chose from to eat and drink.

A Good Resort

What a fun place to stay! Although my trip started out with a room with no water, check-in staff quickly handled the issue. Overall, my stay was a good one. The food in the buffet, by the beach, at the 24 hour snack bar AND at the restaurants was absolutely delicious. My husband, who is the picky eater between us, also enjoyed the selection of food. One poor palm tree outside my room had two dying leaves left on it when we arrived. On the day we left, the tree had no leaves remaining. That was something that, if remedied, would have made my experience more enjoyable. The public areas at the resort were generally nice and kept clean. The pools and surrounding decks were pristine and cleaned throughout the day and every evening. We had a partial ocean view, which was nice, and we received service daily--beds made, floors swept, and bottled water replenished. The beach there is stunning. I especially enjoyed the water sports. For three pesos, to be held as a deposit, you can take a paddle boat out for hours. The boat we chose was like new! The site-seeing was pretty amazing and the water and life surrounding it was stunning. Beach volleyball was fun, as was the beach party.  The glass bottom boat and snorkeling at the resort costs extra, but was beyond affordable and totally worth it. Exploring the reef was one of my favourite things we did! The entertainment team was shall we say entertaining? The shows at night kept me coming back for more every evening. I enjoyed the dance lessons and aqua fitness classes daily, while many members of my travelling group enjoyed the pool games after a few alcoholic beverages for a chance to win a bottle of Cuban rum. My husband and I had occasion to use the fitness facilities a couple of times. Unfortunately, all the treadmills and elliptical machines were out of order, but the rest of the equipment was in good condition. The Spa was peaceful and pretty amazing. A relaxing, full body, couples massage was a brilliant idea. My masseuse had magical hands and the essential oils were quite soothing. There are taxis available in the lobby and the drivers were more than willing to take us where we needed/wanted to go. Since there is no bank onsite EXCHANGING cash at reception only), we had to take a little trip off the resort by taxi which was interesting to say the least. At the end of the day, I would say I had a pretty amazing trip. If the plant life was more alive and the trickling water pressure at times in the room was less a concern, I would have said my trip to this resort was the perfect getaway.

Not worth it.

Disappointed with this hotel. Never any hot water for showers. They ran out of the good beer second day into vacation. Only thing i liked was the staff were very friendly. Food was okay but a lot of rude people. Wasnt worth waiting in line at buffet because food was always cold. Italian restaurant wasnt good at all. French restaurant was amazing.

Great Time at Pullman!

Check In - I was there with a large group and check in was quick and efficient. Most of my guests rooms were ready on arrival but some waited until 4 pm to get there room which is check in time Rooms - Rooms were large and clean. We had some issues with water the first day (I think it was shut off to repair a problem) but other than that it was fine. Some of my guest had beetles in their rooms but nothing to worry about. Beer was not stocked daily as on day 4 the hotel ran out of crystal an [... read more]d only offered premium beer at the bars Restaurants - We had some trouble booking restaurants because when we first arrived the resort booked our entire group (50+ people) together to eat at the a la carte but did not provide us with the slips until day 3 into our vacation. After speaking with manager and staff we were able to cancel the group reservations and allow our guests to book independently. Only problem was most of the restaurants were full by that time Overall, we had a wonderful time at the resort. Evening shows were good especially rock show and horror show and beach bash was a blast. Food was good for Cuba (even found lettuce salad) but our favourite was the cuban restaurant for lunch. Only thing that would have made our trip better was if they didn't run out of crystal!

Fantastic

Staff were excellent, didn’t feel like you had to tip all the time. Room was clean. Only room complaint was the very firm, uncomfortable mattress. Food was great at buffet & à la carte. Should have more than one person in office booking restaurants. 3-4 omelette makers. Grounds well-kept. Beach very clean. Fun entertainment at pool & theatre. Would go again

Resort was ok

This resort was ok, hotel room clean but smelled musty , the pools were great, the food was good all the a-la-carte restaurants were very good. Sand flies or no-see-ums were very bad, bring bug spray, bring Benadryl. Went to Moron on day trip very nice. Glass bottom boat , had a good time. People and severs were all great and friendly. Close to Airport 20 minutes. Hotel ran out of draft beer after two days, not happy about that cold beer. Would had been nice to have a hot tub to enjoy in the mo [... read more]rning or evening. Entertainment during the day was very good the guys and girls made it a fun day and evening was ok. Should of had severs for the pool area.

Relaxing resort

The hotel was |fine the grounds were immaculate,l lack of entertainment during the day. A great place to just relax and escape the AL le carts were fantastic especially the gourmet and the French. The buffet was very laim it seemed like lunch and dinner were always the seem.

Good Vibes

Just got back from Pullman cayo coco with my husband. We had an amazing time. Everything was amazing. There were always activities going on through out the day. The pools were always clean. Only wish chairs were clean. Food was good but very salty. Please use less salt. Rooms were always clean. Amazing staff. Loved Mario from the beach bar. Amazing Ahmed. The twins were so friendly & lovely. Drinks were soooo good. Loved every night show in the theater. I will definetely come back

Beautiful, clean resort!

My experience at the Pullman was amazing. I have been to Cuba many times and Pullman by far was the nicest resort I have stayed at. Wherever you go in Cuba you are guaranteed to meet the nicest, kindest people. I will be going back there really soon! Great family vacation

We just spent a week at the Pullman and we enjoyed our stay. The resort was clean and the service was great. The food was decent for Cuba, and we always found something to eat. Would recommend this hotel for a nice relaxing vacation.

Great Vacation

Upon arrival at the Pullman, Cayo Coco, we were upgraded to the “Collection” from ocean view. We definitely enjoyed the perks associated with the upgrade, but we would have loved the Pullman anyway. Beautiful beach, lots of palapas, and the weather was gorgeous. The only minor disappointment was there was quite alot of sargasso for several days, which was wind related but it didn’t stop us from enjoying the beach and ocean. The hotel was lovely and the lounge area by the reception area was a favourite spot to hang out because of the fantastic view. We only ate at one a la carte, the gourmet, which was delicious, because we found the buffet had lots of different choices which appealed to us and we liked its convenience. We found the Pullman to be a pleasant surprise, recommended to us by a friend, and we would definitely return!

Nice Resort

The hotel is nice and overall we enjoyed our stay, but some improvements would still require to make it even more better. There are many swimming pools and a good beach. The bar service was very good. The food was good just sometimes it was hard to find a clean table. The coffee in the dining room wasn't drinkable for breakfast. We needed to go upstairs after breakfast for taking a good latte or black coffee. We also noticed some broken things in the area of the hotel that no one tried to repair [... read more], like broken buttons in the lift of the main building or broken wooden railings on the way to the beach. All these small things build your impression about the resort. A few other things that bothered me: the floor in our room was never washed during the week; Also they clean the swimming pool with the brushes, but then all the dirt stays at the bottom and it is really not nice to step into that, not sure why they don't use a pool cleaning robots.

Very nice resort

The resort is really nice the maid service was excellent but it lacks service at the beach and in the lobby. You have to pay to get a wheelchair which I never had to at any other resort I ever went to. The buffet was good but always the same very limited.

Pullman - Cayo Coco - just ok

In my opinion, the Pullman Resort is a nice location with lots of potential, but in an industry that is very competitive, there is lots of work they need to do. The resort is badly understaffed, check in time is ciaos, I didn't find the customer service staff very aware of things, they don't have enough equipment for kids (they only had 1 volleyball on the resort, pools and things for kids closed at 530). The beach is very nice, but littered in plastic!!! I get there was the Hurricane and the [... read more] resort was badly impacted, but going back to a competitive business, not very good. I found the service inconsistent, sometimes it would be very good, other times you had to ask. One breakfast buffet they ran out of plates available and other luncheon they ran out of chicken to cook. Make sure you order multiple drinks because it might be hours before you see a server come back if at all. The cleaning staff were nice, but I understand there were issues with the cleaning of linens on the island as a result of the hurricane. The bed sheets didn't seem all that clean to me and they were requesting we hold on to our pool towels and not exchange them everyday. At this point in time, I would not recommend this location to friends. I love Cuba, but after this trip, not sure I will be back, to many other Caribbean islands to explore.

Could be better

The staff at this resort work extremely hard, however the resort appears to be understaffed and as a result overall customer service is lacking. Rooms had a musty, earthy smell, beds could use a pillow top to be more comfortable. The rooms are large, 2 closets, big bathroom, with patio and chairs. Food at the buffet was cold unless prepared at a station. Breakfast was our best meal, fresh cooked eggs and good pastries. The a la carte restaurants were hit and miss, French and Japanese re [... read more]staurants were good. Seafood rotten, lobster was salty mush, most of left and went to the snack bar instead. The Italian restaurant wasn't bad, but it took 3 hours for our dinner! The snack bar had one person cooking resulting in long lines, 30-40 minutes wait for a sandwich or personal pizza. Bars didn't have many servers, so again long waits, not every bar had premium brands and drinks were different from one bar to another. Shade is lacking, we were unable to use the pool due to the lack of shade. The beach huts were damaged in the storm last fall,so there is little shade, we were out between 6/7 am to get huts. Maybe some beach umbrellas would be a temporary solution? There are activities during the day at the pool and only one game of volleyball at the beach, maybe. We had 2 teens who were bored because they couldn't get a volleyball, soccer ball, table tennis or pool table equipment, the staff either couldn't find it or it was locked up at 5:30. Really? It was light till 9 pm. Also, why do the pools close so early? It was hot, light and beautiful but the pools were closed between 530-7. The one elevator taking guests to the lobby was broken all week, it worked the last night we were there. Accessibility is terrible, railings on stairways broken or missing, no shuttle for guests with mobility challenges and there is a lot of walking. You regularly saw 3 Managers walking around the resort speaking with staff but never guests. I approached one and he was unable to communicate, had to get one of the waitresses to speak with me. Why would a Manager not be able to communicate with the majority of guests who are from Canada and Britain? The evening entertainment is good, talented performers! The aqua show was impressive. It would have been helpful to have an entertainment schedule in the room or with arrival info and the property map could have been a full size page that you could actually read. The spa was nice, massage was great! Westjet rep was supposed to be available daily 11-1, however we couldn't find him 3 times and there was no information about Westjet, only Sunwing and Thomas Cooke. Overall disappointing time on a beautiful beach!

Still an interesting ressort

It was my 4th trip to the Pullman in 18 months. I observed a little degradation. The elevator was broken all the week. It's not easy for the elderly climbing 26 stairs to go up to the lobby and reception desk. More than half the sidewalks lights were not working. I also noticed a downgrade in the quality of both red and white wine.

Wonderful resort

We were upgraded to the Collections Area, and it's probably the worst thing that could have happened to us....... Why? Because Pullman's Collections Area built the bar for all other resorts out there. Simply wonderful....... We had an amazing time!
