Great resort

Very clean, organized and friendly! The staff were great and not pushy. The breakfast buffet and Mexican a la carte restaurant were my favourite. He night entertainment was good. I wish there had been night swimming but understand why there wasn't! Great bartenders too.

Great resort!

I have recently returned from the Viva Wyndham V Heavens and had a great time. The resort is small ans is ideal for solo traveller like me. The resort is well laid out and best of all is the free wi-fi, even on the beach. I have met many travellers and even made some friends. The animation crew were great - did Zuma, dancing lesson, water aerobics, etc. Although the resort has 4 à-la-carte restaurants, not all were opened. Contrary to the Sunwing brochure, the buffet was opened during supper  [... read more]time. I had no issues with the the food, although I found the Blend to be the best - especialy the salmon. I had the Bliss room, located on block #2, and does not have a balcony. It is a small room and is ideal for a solo traveller or a couple. I usually travel with my sister and I would not have seen the both of us in the same room. I did miss not having a balcony but it was not a major issue, I still enjoyed my room. The maid cleaned my room every day and I had left her a tip and small gifts. I was surprised on how nice the beach was. There were a lot of waves but we were still able to go in the water . You can have a long walk on either side of the beach. There were vendors but they did not bother me, probably because I was alone. There is a shopping mall 5 minutes from the resort. The price were better than the shop at the resort and at the airport. I would define try return to this resort.

Fantastic time at Viva Wyndham!

After years at larger resorts, it was great to stay at this boutique-like establishment that combined good food, great atmosphere, fantastic service, friendly and super-attentive staff (especially Candy, Michael and happy Boy), modern disco and well-positioned and well-maintained tennis court, gym and games room. As for the waterfront, Wyndham offered the nicest and cleanest beach of the entire strip, outshining the much larger neighbouring resorts.

Amazing resort!

Nice and very clean, friendly staff, lots of activities, wheather was super! Pool was awesome! Food was excellent. Had a great time, will definitely recommend this resort. We have friends that are going to this resort in 2 weeks. Not a lot of shopping on the resort. We had a photo session that we would recommend. Did not do any excursions.....

Great Resort

I would give this hotel 4 stars. Restaurants: there was no reservation system set up, but we never waited more than 30 minutes to get a table for 9 people... and I enjoyed every meal at each restaurant! The buffet they offered would satisfy any picky eater. Service: Excellent... the staff was great. Great resort, fantastic food, great location but a few of the entert staff are very inappropriate.

I did really enjoy the resort itself and the food is the one of the best I've ever had in an all inclusive.( we have been going on these vacations for the last 8 years and have been to Mexico x2 Jamaica, Cuba x2 and the Dominican x3). The bartenders ,front desk staff, your cleaning staff, everyone were helpful polite respectful, it was the entertainment staff ( not all of them but a few) that are overly aggressive and very inappropriate..... there wasn't a day I did [... read more]n't see Goofy dry hump a female guests, a pole for the volleyball net while people were playing, a speaker,the stage floor. The only day I didn't see it was the day we went in the paradise excursion. ( amazing excursion the staff was fantastic. Actually the entertainment staff at the resort could learn a thing or too on interacting with people that doesn't include trying to touch or *bang* someone to be funny) One of the female entertainers jump one of the male entertainers in the pool during the foam party and things just seemed to progress from there. One of the male guests was licking a female entertainers thigh It was as if you had booked a hedonism resort. If that's what you're into great but that's not what I paid for. You could visit the strip club,pay for your dances and it would be a lot cheaper then an all inclusive. 2 of them spent a morning covered with towels getting drinks from 4 female guests while the were rubbing their backs. Sunny destination

The hotel and grounds are amazing ...the food was top notch and variety was wonderful! I think I gained weight on this one. The older gentleman at the beach bar was sensational (can't remember his name cause the drinks were amazing! Starts with an A) the only bad thing was that there were 2 members of the "entertainment" crew who were more interested in themselves then their jobs...drinking and being somewhat obnoxious. Great 2 week stay

We stayed at the resort for 2 weeks. Each year we visit a new resort, in a new area ever year for 2 weeks and out of all of the entertainment teams we have ever met in the past, I would have to say this one was most definitely the best! They were always on point and trying to get everyone involved, wether it was the foam party or the disco, they made a small resort extremely fun. Resort was great

we stay at this resort for a week in February everything about this resort was great.It is a small resort which I love no waiting in line for anything.Food was delicious and good variety .Very nice beach and lots of chairs .Also super friendly staff.We will go back for sure

Great resort

If you want a resort RIGHT on the beach, this is not it. BUT it's a great resort with great food , good staff and nice rooms. Remember it's also a smaller hotel with approx. 120 rooms which is nice. They have some nice extra's at this hotel. One being free 24-7 room service , and good wifi throughout the resort and your room. Found the food very good in the buffet which we stuck to a lot and also went to one specialty restaurant. They also used small bottles of soda instead of fountain which was also fresher. Would for sure stay here again. Some complain of the five minute walk to the beach but we all need the exercise after eating and drinking ! Only negative about this resort was a shortage of cabana's on the beach and no one returning your emails at the office. (emailed hotel twice but didn't respond)

Pleasant surprise

First of all check in was a breeze,Jose on the front desk was pleasant and proficient ,our luggage was brought to our room within 3 min,the room was spotless, bright and spacious. because we arrived late at night we ordered room service which was delivered in no time.there are 5 restaurants ,we tried five ,the buffet served breakfast nothing special.the Mexican and Blend were excellent the Italian was very good too,this also serves as the lunch beach bar, not bad but the same every day, Pizz [... read more]a Hot dogs burgers fries .bit boring.no waiter service on the beach as advertised.but the staff at the bar were fantastic, the pool bar doubled as the evening bar, staff here were also fantastic , so friendly always a smile . this place could really use a lobby bar, the fact that there isn't would make me not return, the walk to the beach is 3-5 min not bad at all in fact i've walked a lot further at other resorts . beach is fantastic but could use a little more shade.the best part about this resort is definitely the Staff. both animation and wait staff superb, we had staff come and join us for breakfast more than once , a nice touch I thought, I guess it helps them with their English and you with your Spanish. would I go back ? If they changed the menu a little and put in a lobby bar and had the waiter service on the beach maybe yes but as it stands now No

Tired Resort

Good: Food was outstanding at 4 restaurants and 1 main buffet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Entertainment team was awesome. Close to golf. Safe gated area. Lockbox in room. The not so good: Bad smells everywhere. Room was damp and musty, cesspool beside walkway to beach had waste water draining into it and evening fogging for insects with no warnings. No screens for fresh air & bugs. Music way too loud and distorted & feedback. Pool needs painting and walkway to beach needs attention. [... read more] Litter on beach from previous days. Lack of hot water and pressure for showers and 1/2 day with no water at all. Power went out and air conditioning was effected. Hard to relax on beach with constant flow of vendors. Very little shade on beach.Massage and spa prices at hotel ridiculously expensive. Poor room security as locks broken on sliding doors and forgot key in room and front desk gave new key with no questions asked.

Viva Heavens, Puerto Plata

The hotel is small and quaint. We liked it better than some of the very large resorts we've been to. Our room was beautiful. There is a sewage lagoon along side the walkway to the beach. It always had a gross sewage smell. That was a real turn off. You could see grey water flowing into it from the hotel. Something needs to be done to correct that issue. Staff was fabulous. Food was good. Not great but good. Beach area needs to be cleaned regularly. Plastic bags, plastic bottles, [... read more] cigarette butts and other refuse littered the beach area. Daily clean up would solve that problem. Many beach loungers were broken. A pocket full of small bolts, washers and nuts would solve that problem.

Viva Wow!

The hotel was fantastic, rooms were clean, food was awesome, beach was good (minus vendors but they have a job). All in all 4.5 stars! The only draw back in my mind was the fact that people don't tip..!

Good but could be so much better

This is a beautiful place. Rooms are very clean. A la carte restaurants are delicious. Buffet restaurant could change their selections, most dishes repeated themselves way too often. Beds are in need of an upgrade. My husband and I both woke up with sore backs from the beds being so hard. Anamation crew is in need of supervision. Viva wyndham v heaven review

Overall, great hotel for relaxing! We are 27 and came out there to get married. Couple things to note. The staff are amazing!!! I lost my insulin pens on our flight in and the staff were exceptional to make sure I found a pharmacy to get needles. Took hours but they did everything they could. Was so thankful! We were sorta skeptical of the "animation staff" at first because they made rude comments to my fiance. Plus they seemed like they belonged at a strip club how they grinder on peole. We went to relax not to have people in little to nothing to wear constantly in our face trying to us to do the ymca. Maybe for older couples they were awesome but not for us. Food at sofritas was awesome and most buffets. The other restaurants were so so. Chicken club for room service!! Rooms were clean and Maids did a good job (even though they walked in at 9 am sometimes, do not disturb signs might be helpful). You may be disappointed with the rooms at first sight because what people determine as 5 star here may not be the same there. There were chips, cracks, few stains but gotta keep in mind where you are. If your a couple deciding to get married on this resort though , Def 5+. The photographer is amazzzing (highly recommended) and so are the staff who put it together. Would recommend in that regard. The resort felt safe but if you are someone looking to party hard this place is not for you. Cheers! Ps we got very sick coming home careful of the food!!

Lovely Resort

I loved the staff, from rooms, buffet and entertainment. Everything was very well maintained. rooms cleaned every day, fridge replenished daily, the grounds and pool kept up to par. There was a good selection of food.

Amazing Resort!

The hotel clean and organized. Grounds were well manicured. Rooms were clean and updated. Staff very accommodating. Food was good many choices. Drinks were many choices. Quiet & Relaxing

This hotel was great. If you want quiet you have it. If you want busy just ask the Entertainment Squad. Lots of games, lots of dancing. Just stay away from very annoying vendors on beach and Time share people around buffet doors !

Great relaxing vacation

The hotel was great and awesome staff. Friendly and very helpful. Kennedy at the pool side bar was awesome and remembered us and always had a drink ready once he saw us coming. Hercules from the entertainment staff is a great person and fun to hang out with. He was there every day saying hello and playing volleyball with us.
