Twas an ok resort

This resort was not as expected from pics on website. It was build in 2016, so I expected it to have a newer, fresher feel to it. A lot of the furniture looked very worn for a newer resort! Not the luxurios resort I was expecting to see. The rooms had a issue with musty dampness, we were given a dehumidifier which helped a lot thru the week. Amazing Resort

Great resort but avoid the time share concierge team!!!

This resort was very nice and the staff were wonderful. Friendly and very accommodating. We had booked into a Daisy suite but were fortunate to be moved to the El Beso section with a swim out suite as requested as we were there without children and had asked for a quiet area. The low numbers in the 1100 block are perfect for this and are very convenient for the main buffet and most of the restaurants and shops. Things we enjoyed were the foam parties (Currently its Tuesdays in the El Beso pool f [... read more]or adults only and Saturdays in the family Eden pool for everyone) and the Lion King show which was very spectacular and not to be missed. The Teppenyaki restaurant is worth a visit too as the show is very entertaining as your meal is prepared. This was the only restaurant that we had to book ahead of time as space is limited. You only book that on the day of attending unless you are part of their Privilege Club and they have a different process. The seaweed on the beach wasn’t bad this week and they do have a nice section of beach. If you wish to do a little snorkeling from the beach, I would recommend walking a few minutes south to the wooden pier by the Azul property nearby. My only complaint was the constant harassment from the time share concierge team which caused us to avoid the front lobby area as they hounded you there every time you came through. Trust me, there is a reason why they are being friendly and it’s not to be your friend lol!!!! The other annoying thing was the Spa guys who wait right outside the main buffet and push massages in your face both going in and out every time you go to eat.... I wouldn’t mind once a day but two to three times a day over a week gets tiresome after a while.... We usually visit Riu properties and this is the reason I prefer them. No harassment or pushy sellers in your face when you are there to relax.

Entertaining and great food!

The resort was a good size, with an amazing mix of things to do for singles, families, and kids. The food was a highlight, as was the pools. Service speed was slow and the beach was rocky, but still enjoyable.

Great food but rocky beaches!

The resort is 2 years old but looks much older the decor of the rooms are really nice but it seems like rooms are falling apart, cracked and broken furniture, leaking ceilings also rooms were very humid the resort itself is beautiful, restaurants are nice beaches were very rocky which was a disapointment service is great though and food was wonderful!

Great service, humid rooms

service is wonderful and the food was great the rooms were way too humid and this was a huge downside to our trip the beach was decent if you stay on one side, if you go towards the left side, beach is terrible, full of sharp corals

Beautiful resort

New resort with in the last two years. Clean, modern and beautifully decorated. Staff were very attentive, courteous and respectful. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Pool area is in beaches were lovely. We only ate at the buffet as we were only there for three nights, Food was good but I wouldn’t say excellent although we didn’t eat at the other restaurants. Would definitely go back and stay there again.

Trip Central is the way to go!

Our family of 5 (kids age 9, 7, 6) went to Ocean Riviera Paradise for a week. Family perks: The proximity of the pool to the ocean made for all day waterfront fun. It was easy for kids to run back and forth and have different water experiences. There is a fresh fruit non-alcohol drink bar with swings by the pool--a big plus for kids who have been playing in the sun. Also, a kid-friendly, open air lunch restaurant is also by the beach. Good for all day fun. Water slides were fun but slow mo [... read more]ving due to a small bit of water going down them. Lots of lifeguards. We only used the 'kids drop-off' program for one morning. The kids did origami, made sushi and enjoyed a water balloon game in the pool. There is a small park my kids loved playing at in the evenings when it was a bit cooler. Food was incredible. We saw monkeys, turtles and coati on the resort. It is a huge resort, so bring bags to transport sand toys, goggles, pool toys. There is a large golf cart that runs up and down the 'strip' if you don't want to walk. Booking with Trip Central was super easy. I appreciated that everything was EASY. Highly recommend the location and Trip Central.

Great vacation!

Everything was perfect. Our 10 year old loved it here along with us. We will be back for sure. Comfortable beds, very clean rooms, well kept grounds, lots of pools and nice beach. There was a bit of seaweed coming into beach but they cleaned it every day. Food was excellent.

Relaxing family trip!

Family of three wants to take a rest nothing else. Small size of resort, walking distance to go to everywhere, good food, ample space by poolside, kind people, don't lose towel card unless you want to donate $100 usd to hotel.

Fabulous resort!

We spent a week at this resort the end of October/2018. It was my wife's first experience in Mexico and at an all-inclusive. We had a fabulous time! Shortly after getting off the plane, we were on our way to the Ocean Riviera. The resort is about 40 minutes from the airport. Upon arrival, check-in was quick and easy. After check-in we were approached by a host who wanted to tell us about the hotel chain's "loyalty program". We told her that we were not interested in time-share, and she a [... read more]ssured us that this was not time-share. We agreed to go to a presentation the next day. Well, it turned out that it was in fact, time share. We wasted a few hours at the presentation, but it was the only 'negative' the entire week. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom featuring a rainhead shower with ample room for two. It had dual sinks and a jacuzzi tub. The room faced out onto the courtyard and a pool. The balcony was spacious and had a comfy hanging chair, along with a small table and 2 more chairs. The bed was super comfortable, with lots of pillows. The room had A/C, a ceiling fan, and a dehumidifier. The room had a small fridge with beverages that were restocked every day, a safe, and lots of storage room. We stayed in an adults only building, and next door was an adults only pool. 5/5 The food was FABULOUS!! There was the buffet, barbeque, Japanese, steakhouse, and Mexican and Italian restaurants. There was a restaurant on the beach which served breakfast in the morning, and lunch until 5 PM. A number of the pools also had snack bars with delicious finger foods. We mostly ate at the buffet because the selection and quality of food was AMAZING! There also was a coffee shop with specialty coffees and teas and baked goodies that was open from early morning until 11:00 PM. Next door was an ice cream shop that was also open until 11. We can't say enough good things about the food and the choices!! 5+/5 The drinks were what you always get at an all-inclusive in Mexico. The better you tipped, the stronger the drinks were, lol. The only down side of the drinks were that it seemed that the resort used only sugar-free drink mixes which left an after taste that we didn't enjoy. Neither my wife nor I are heavy drinkers so it didn't affect our vacation much. 3\5 The grounds are immaculate! The resort is laid out like a small village. There is a main walkway from the front lobby to the beach, about a 10 minute walk. There was a shuttle running all day long if one didn't want to walk. The buildings with the rooms were set back from both sides of the walkway, with swimming pools on either side. Two of the pools had swim-up bars. There was a mangrove on the property, and one day we saw a monkey swinging thru the trees! We also saw other wildlife on the property, as well as some beautiful, colorful birds. The beach did have quite a bit of seaweed on it, but staff worked hard every day to keep the beach as clean as possible. We can't say enough about how clean the whole resort was. 5/5 The staff was friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to make our vacation a pleasant one. From our first day to the last, we never had anything but a great experience with the staff. 5/5 There was a show every night in the theater which we enjoyed immensely! The MC was entertaining, and the participants very talented! After the show, we would go to the piano bar in the lobby. The music was good, and we enjoyed ourselves every night. There is a small bowling alley, tennis courts, basketball court, and batting cage but we didn't make use of any of them. I proudly told my wife that I walked by the gym every day! Lol. On Thursday nights they have a market on the grounds with a large variety of artists and natives peddling their wares. We bought a few souvenirs and supported the locals. 2 thumbs up!! 4 star resort - needs fine tuning

Stayed October 24 to October 31 Beach was good with a few rocks here and there - no seaweed at the time. water shoes would be a good idea Food. 4 star. Main Buffet was ok. Nothing special. Beach buffet definitely needs better selection of food. Drinks. 5 star. Top shelf liquor Pools. 5 star for there size and numbers but way to loud at the party pool - music constantly pounding which carried through to other pool areas. Rooms 3.5 star. Size and decor was good. But They all sme [... read more]ll musty. Had to relocate from initial room - second room was better - talked to other guests. Same complaint - other than that they were ok. Restaurants - if they were open they were ok. Mexican restaurant worth skipping. Italian and blue moon was the best. Most common areas are air conditioned. 5 star. Massage would you like a massage. Heard this question at least 20 times a day. Lol. Would I go back. Yes. Would I spend more than $1000 out of Toronto. No. Things to do. Out the front doors of resort. Nothing close by. Take taxi to 5th avenue for shopping. 240 pesos or 15 US dollars. Kids and families will love this place. Adults looking for quite time will not.

Ocean Riviera Paradise

Resort is clean, grounds beautiful, service not as good as can be expected for a 5 star resort. For example, we had to walk for 10 minutes to the reception area in pouring rain carrying all our luggage at 0600 hours in the morning in darkness all alone to check out. No one available to pick up luggage. We booked a tour with the Air Canada agent. On the morning of the tour we left at 630 am. Nothing open to get breakfast. We went hungry. We asked to switch room because the smell was unbearable and the next room had the same smell. The food was good. Too much targeting and sales tactics to get you to buy time share or tours or other things. Unable to walk off resort and go anywhere. Beach was filled with moss. Resort should clean it daily like other resorts do.

Bunch of thieves

The resort itself is super nice too bad the ppl that work there are a bunch of thieves do not i repeat do not leave anything of value in your room the maid stole from us she even stole a gift card with 50$ from sephora 80$ in cash and when iwent too the front desk too complain they kept telling me that they are gona do a investigation after they say the results of the investigation was that they dont know nothing my maids name was theresa if thats ur maid just watch out like i said its realy too [... read more] bad resort is nice food was good and most of the staff was nice but. The customer service guy germain n the security guy are a bunch of jerks that pretend they care but really all they do is put off the problem till ur stay is over and u are gone ill never return too this hotel cause i simply dont think the staff is honest actually they are a bunch of thiefs too bad they ruined my vacation people stay away from this hotel ive traveled alot of countries and alot of hotels this was the worst one by far not the resort but the staff they are thieves they even stole one of my runing shoes how discusting

Incredible experience

best resort for kids, lots of activities, great service, amazing food selection for everyone. The crepe station was the hidden gem during our stay. We will definitely be back in the near future. The value for the money was there.

Wonderful place to be

Beautiful surronging, friendly respitive staffs. Room is clean, food are delicious. Service are vey warm and comfortable for gusts. I have already recommended to many friends about this hotel. And we will be back for next vacation!

Relaxing getaway!

I highly recommend booking this resort! Its very clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are amazing. We were upgraded to a swim up suite upon check in. There is a decent amount of seaweed along the beach but the resort staff does a great job of cleaning it every day.

Great resort, would recommend to family/friends

The hotel was very well maintained. Grounds were kept clean and staff were friendly. Hotel rooms were very spacious with nice rainfall shower, quiet AC. Food was really good at all the restaurants. During our stay in August there was a lot of seaweed so we did not swim in the ocean at all but the staff did try to clean up the beach. The pools made up for the beach, there was a good selection of food, drinks and entertainment at the pools from 9-5pm

Beautiful resort

Everything about the resort was top notch and beautiful. The room was big and always made so clean my the workers. You can never get tired of the food at the main buffet, and there are many other restaurants around to keep things different. The staff is also very friendly. I recommend staying at the adults only section because there are always special events being held in the pool. Only disappointment was their poor selection of beers

Totally awesome place to be!!

What a wonderful experience we had at Ocean Reviera Paradise. My two teenagers and myself enjoyed the experience so much that we definately want to return some day soon. Hopefully when there is no sea weed problem at the beach. :) We felt safe and I found comfort in knowing how safe the place was as they enjoyed time with friends. Seeing how long they worked in the hot sun, servicing everyone and to still manage their smile and have such energy made me have more respect for them. Two thumbs up for the ALL the employees at Ocean Reviera Paradise!! One thing that would be nice to see is a teenager night club. Where teenagers can go dance and have fun. Teenagers (ages 13 to 19 or even those just turning 20) want a place to go dance within the resort. In the rooms there should be at least 2 blankets left in the room for those that want to be extra warm from the air condition. The shower floor in the rooms need to be looked at. The water seems to leak out while showering and sometimes flows outside the bathroom. I like that you added a scale in the rooms. It's good to know how much your luggage weighs after you purchase other things to bring home. "Or ourselves after we've eaten so much throughout the day" lol. And to not forget to say... The Food was Delicious!!! The chefs and cooks did such a wonderful job. "Five Stars" It was great hearing English music throughout but it would be nice to hear More Mexican/Spanish music throughout as well. Even in the evenings. "I love Mexican songs" Besides... " We are in Mexico" Other then that.. the rooms are quite spacious, very clean and cozy. The balcony is very lovey and we loved the view overlooking the trees and spider monkeys.
