Great Resort

This resort was very nice. The rooms are great with great air conditioning, comfortable beds and a lot of room. The gardeners are always working to keep the grounds looking great. The beach was nice but shallow. The pools are very busy. The workers were friendly. The food was like any other food in cuba. There was lots of it but the buffet was not easy to get around because of the layout. The lobby was very large with lots of seating but it was very uncomfortable to sit in. There were only a cou [... read more]ple of chairs that were soft and all the rest were hard. We had a great time.

Hotel was over full so they upgraded our busload to the Imperial Muthu adult only

The adult only side was just in service for 3 months so some things were not ready.They finished a small store ( rum and trinkets) and opened it while we were there. All the staff were excellent, well trained and pleasant. The food was not 5 star. Very limited in variety but prepared and presented well. The floor manager at the buffet was very efficient at making sure food did not run out and keeping staff attentive to your needs.The beach was beautiful.The entertainment at the theater was below [... read more] average. Entertainment in the lobby needs more people and more variety. Pools were beautiful.

It was ok

Everything looks nice, not too big so easy to get around. Definitely looked older than a year old, paint peeling, shower leaking, electrical issues in the room. The beach was really nice, but the sand is not as nice as most Cuban resorts. Excellent service at the lobby, beach and pool bars. A la carte were not worth the wait for a late dinner. Probably wouldn't go back.

Remarkable

The people are beautiful! Right from the welcome song to the cleaning service. The warmth and kindness made everything pleasurable. The beach is lovely. The grounds are well kept and the pools are wonderful! We made friends and memories to last a lifetime! We will return.

Amazing room

The room we had looked over the infinity pool and was fifty feet from the ocean shore it was beyond amazing all I ever dreamed of, we stayed in the new Mithu adult only resort it had a few bugs to work out but overall rooms,service was good. The food was disappointing pretty standard for Cuba. There was no sandy beach at this hotel yet however they are working on :creating one . I would definitely go back!

Good Resort

Very nice resort. We had a clean, spacious room overlooking the ocean and pool. The service was very good. Maid service was excellent. The food was as could be expected for Cuba. Often not very hot though. Ala Carte Restaurants were booked up quickly of which there were very few. The staff were friendly and efficient. The pools were spacious and plentiful. Washrooms were very clean but at times soap containers ran out as well as toilet paper. I would recommend this resort as long as ocean swimming wasn't a priority.

Grand Imperial Cayo Gullermo

When we arrived at the hotel Grand Muyhu It was full and they sent us next door to the Grand Mutho Imperial. Grand Muthu was overbooked. We lucked out. Only opened two months ago. The hotel was beautiful .The beach was not done yet but you would sit in front of the infinity pool and look at the ocean. Breathtaking...There were two beaches you could walk to either way in a few minuets. Spacious beautiful rooms,nice staff,food was good. Beautiful Resort!!

Lovely resort - beautiful rooms, pool area was gorgeous! The entertainment was excellent! The staff great & the dancers amazing!! Beach breathtaking. The food ok but really enjoyed a la carte. Hope to be back 🤗

Wanted it to be better!

Canadians who travel to Cuba want 3 things: great pool/beach, friendly staff and clean bathrooms! We got clean bathrooms but most on the resort worked only sporadically and our room bathroom had a major flood whenever we showered. The resulting mold and mildew smell permeated the room (2237) despite Lumey’s valiant efforts. The resort was massively understaffed and waited for everything from drinks to snacks! The staff seemed so stressed but always tried their best,… except the dining r [... read more]oom where it seemed no one had been trained! This is on the many managers saw roaming who never made eye contact or smiled… Managers are the team builders! There beach is beautiful! And the pool guy was a real entertainer. I guess 1 out of 3 isn’t bad… p.s. for a new hotel it looks worn out the furniture cheap (IKEA?) It seems to be a great place to take your kids since you don’t have to worry about fine dining on clean chair pillows or wreaking the furniture!

Great resort, great beach, ok food

The room was modern and clean. The food was not great. Promised 3 a la cart but only got 2 The buffet layout was not good, set up like a square where people were in lineups for fresh prep food were in the way of the buffet

Budget Five Star

The best thing about this resort is the beach! The rooms were great and A La Carts. Outside of that the buffet was a nightmare, pool crowded or all spots taken but pool towels and no people... Not much in terms of entertainment unless you want to sit next to the clubhouse by the pool. We were left many times with dirty towels in the rooms after the cleaners came through and never enough water! If you want beach and nothing else this is a great spot. Nice place

we enjoyed the beach and ocean ,the rooms were nicely appointed had a nice ocean view. I find the layout in the dining area needs attention. the main buffet is blocked off by visitors standing in line for make to order items. the food was not really to my liking but I made due . people are brutal placing there towels the night prior on chairs etc by pool this should be better monitored by hotel.

You get what you pay for.!

Hotel was clean. Staff friendly. Beach and pool are nice but needs more umbrellas. People get up early to reserve their chairs at the beach and pool. So they can have some shade . They need to redo the layout of the buffet station. People line up for the carving stations and block the access to the other food on buffet. It gets frustrating . Food is not that great. Been to Cuba a 5 times and I dont expect the food to be great , but serving cold burgers and french fries just doesnt [... read more] cut it. Have to call in every day for water and coffee for your room. Only give you one bottle to share for the whole day. I know it's a new resort. But it feels like they just do the bare minimum.

Beautiful Beaches!

Location is beautiful. Beaches, pools, rooms are great. Service is good, Cuban people are wonderful. Entertainment and activities are fun. Nice cafe and cigar bar. Food is not great. If I do return, would bring more food from home.

Good resort

Expected it to be a bit nice for only being 1 year old. Service and food could have been better but overall it was good. Pool beds and chairs in the dining room were quite dirty. We would have liked there to be more a la carte restaurants...3 is not sufficient. We should have been able to go more than 3 times during our stay as well. The buffet dining room needs to work on the set up of the area to allow for better flow when getting food.

Beautiful resort!

The most wonderful, kind and attentive staff ... but very busy. (After all, it was March Break!) Some concerns around food set up areas and also the availability of self serve quick snacks, but all in all, it was enjoyable.

Worst food ever

This resort states that it is five star on there website, tripcentral had it a four star. We say it is more a three star resort. The actual resort is still being fixed up and renovated. When you walk into the resort is is beautiful with a lovely breeze coming off the ocean. We were greeted the minute we arrived. Our room however was not ready at 12:00 pm when we got there. They told us that they will try to have the room ready by 2pm. We had been up since 1 am for an early flight with crabby kid [... read more]s. We decided to go find somewhere to eat lunch. We walked out of lobby and wen to snack shack by the pool. The waitress could not get the drink order right and had to return 3 times to get order. We ordered burgers and fries which took an hour to get, by the this time we ate at the buffet that was being put out. The food at the buffet was disgusting. Some food was unrecognizable. After lunch we decided to see if our room was ready to which it was not. So went to the kids pool where our kids could run off some much needed energy. The kids pool was clean but the water works on the playground was not working until day three. There really needs to be some shade at the kids pool area. When our room was finally ready we walked in and the beds were small. The pull out couch was not made up and there was no extra bedding for it. We went to the conceriage and they said someone would be there soon to provide bedding. 2 hours later no bedding. By this time it was 8:30 at night and we tired. I called what was thought to be the conceriage desk but was met with a rude man who told me to listen to him right now that there was no housekeeping on to get bedding. I quickly went to conceriage and the lady at the desk had someone up to our room in 15 minutes. The three pools were in good shape and beautiful. The entertainment staff were good but really loud when they were on by the pools. The beach was not far to get to which was great. We could not get towels all week but we brought our own. You could not get a chair by the poolside because people would put towels on the chairs and walk away for hours. There were not very much areas for shade which was much needed during hot periods of the sun. There were chairs by the beachside. The food at the main buffet was disgusting. Breakfast had sandwich meat, left over vegetables from night before, unrecognizable hash that looked like dog food. Three stations of cooked pumpkin. The stations for ordering fresh food was always busy and lined up in way of rest of buffet items. The smell of the buffet would turn our stomachs the minute we walked by. We tired all three al a Carte restaurants. The seafood one was delicious and lots of choices to choose from. The Indian one you did not a get a choice of the meal. It was just okay for taste. The Italian restaurant was okay, the pizza was naan bread with sauce, sausage and cheese. My kids did not like the sausage. The service in the Italian one was horrible, we had to keep asking for more wine or water, we felt ignored. The people there were friendly and would always say ola. But we felt they would help you if you tipped them. They were constantly asking for tips. My husband and I will not be back just because of the food. We could not stomach the food. And when my kids would not eat anything it became a problem.

Fantastic Resort

After leaving the airport, we stopped at several resorts to drop guests off. Several resorts looked quite tired snd weathered. We were thrilled when we pulled into the Grand Muthu to find the building and grounds to be well maintained and esthetically pleasing. We were greeted with a cocktail and dancers immediately upon arrival. The view from the lobby out to the pools and ocean was stunning. The bathroom was modern, clean and in great condition. The pools were beautiful, especially the infinity pool on the lower level. We found the pools to be a little chilly, although refreshing on the hotter days. This was a common complaint on review sites. The beach area was gorgeous. Not a little walk, but well worth it. One of the nicest beaches we have ever been to. Many reviewers complained about the seaweed. We did not find this to be a problem. The main buffet was chaotic. A common complaint. Poor layout and very disorganized. However, we learned very quickly to stagger our meals. By going towards the end of each meal sitting, we were able to take advantage of the grilling stations. Otherwise the wait time was not insignificant. The staff was amazing. Great people, very friendly and attentive. Overall, we enjoyed this resort and would definitely return. My kids are already asking about next year.

Great resort

Great resort, nice grounds well kept, staff speak French and English as well as Spanish. Nice rooms. Good service although a little slow at the buffet. Beach is very good. Had a great time on the excursions: catamaran and dolphins!! I would definitely go again!

Great resort

The resort is nicely set up it was a soft opening. the workers make the place the are friendly always the to help we have been to several other countries this was one of our favorite trips. The food is ok but like other people have stated your not going to starve. We will definitely be going back
