Beautiful hotel

We found the hotel, the rooms, the grounds just gorgeous and beautifully kept. The only issue was the break down of the elevators. The beach gorgeous the staff outstanding BUT I think the entire Cuba is suffering with a food shortage !! Repetitive day in and day out little assortment! The 24 hour restaurant never had anything you wanted! The hotel needs better wifi and definitely a few stores.

Great resort!

Loved this resort. Brand new, clean, modern. It was not fully opened yet so no gift shop. There was a wine and tapas bar that looked interesting but also not opened yet. There are 4 restaurants you can eat at. We tried 2, Asian and Italian, both good. Beach was beautiful, rooms exceptionally clean and nice. Food was ok for Cuba. Pools and grounds were spotless. Would go back in a heartbeat. One thing to note is that there is nothing close by. Bring everything you.

Excellent resort

The resort is new, it has been opened since Nov 2022. Very very clean. Very friendly and professional staff. Food is fair but plenty of choices. Beautiful beach, although a bit windy. Plenty of staff to meet all your needs. The rooms are very spacious.

Nice Resort

Very clean, but its new. It was only perhaps 40% full so some options were closed like the Tapas bar and entertainment was only in hotel lobby and not so good. The beach was cleaned every day but almost seemed man made where the chairs were. There was typical Cuba shortages like no coke all week. No vodka, no gin. No tomato juice. 2 out of 3 pasta dishes at Italian restaurant not available. Buffet well stocked food okay but no flavour almost like they had no spices in Cuba. Great New Resort!

It’s a great new resort that’s is moving forward and growing. The grounds are very nicely designed and well groomed. The pools are well laid out and very functional and clean. Although the beach area is well groomed, it shows the effects of recent weather extremes. The dining areas were adequately sized and well staffed. Although quality of the food was good, variety was definitely lacking. Being a new resort the rooms were modern, well appointed and clean. Very clean resort

All areas were clean and very well maintained, always scrubbing the floors in common areas and walkways. Beach is about a five minute walk from the main buildings and pool areas. It is an absolutely amazing beach for walking. A few rocks in the shallow waters but you’re able to get around them easily and safely. The infinity pools are immaculately kept but there are no steps to enter or exit the pools only ladders. The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinners had great choices, always found so [... read more]mething on my gluten-free diet although there is very much a language barrier with the staff so I don’t really know whether there were hidden glutens in my food. Always fresh though. The a la carte nights were a bit problematic as we needed to sign up with our rep early in morning, this wasn’t made clear to us and we missed out on at least one meal as they aren’t open each night and you couldn’t prebook even though the resort was only about an eighth full. I’m thinking it would be a great place in five years. The rooms did have a few problems, sent a technician to clear a noisy a/c unit and a main hall door that wouldn’t lock which took hours out of our day waiting on them. The rooms themselves were great, newly remodelled and clean.

Incredible Stay!

We were blown away with our week away at Grand Aston. The rooms were modern, high end finishes, beds were very comfortable, food was great, drinks were plentiful, entertainment was amazing! Loved it all

Beautiful resort !

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, very clean! The staff was always cleaning & gardeners were always taking care of the grounds. Food was 3/5 but you’ll never go hungry! The 24 hr snack bar and the homemade personal pizzas in the buffet were our favourite, everything else 5/5! The staff was very friendly and kind and very welcoming! We had 2 young kids with us and they never went bored, the pools were beautiful but there were no stairs into the pool only ladders which may be hard for some. Beautiful resort…!

Very nice and lovely resort, very clean, beautiful pools, my wife and me we had a wonderful time, the rooms are spacious and very clean, the food was ok, the staff do and excelent job, thanks to everyone who help us in everything…!

Amazing Resort poor service

The hotel is amazing everything from rooms to the pool to ground perfect the only problem was they need to check their service from front desk- kitchen all the managers wondering around doing nothing to fix the problem fix the service in general you have a amazing place

Very new hotel

The hotel is very new and facilities are perfect. Only the beach is not smooth enough, there are lots of rocks along the beach. But they are working on it now. The staff are friendly and nice, but English is not well spoken. Overall is 4 out of 5.

Very Nice Resort, except for the food.

Évaluation générale: Hôtel, chambre:10\10.-- Propreté:10\10.-- Service:10\10. -- Personnel: 10\10. -- Internet: 2\10. -- Nourriture: 4\10.-- Activiés, animation: très peu: manque de participants. Je donne un 3 étoiles à cause de la nourriture (voir commentaires) et l'Internet (pas de connexion même dans le lobbie) C'est un immense complexe hôtelier. Le personnel est courtois et sympatique (A1). 4 grandes belles piscines pour adultes dont la profondeur mesure 1.30 mètre en montant donc pas accessible pour les personnes qui ne savent pas nager comme moi. Le buffet est ouvert le matin et le midi. Le soir: 2 restaurants à la carte sont ouverts soit brésilien ou mexicain soit italien ou asiatique et buffet 2 autres soirs. La nourriture était couci couça, les chefs ne savaient pas cuisiner (ex.: le spagetti vongole était des pâtes avec du fromage râpée, pas de sauce, sans palourdes: le chef disait que c'est cuit dans du bouillon de palourdes!...). Les buffets étaient, relativement, bons grâce à la section grillade: choix de poissons, boeuf, poulet, porc, langoustes, palourdes. Pas beaucoup de fruits car c'est le début de ''l'hiver'' à Cuba (décembre 2022) * Très belle plage, rocailleux à plusieurs endroits (souliers pour mancher dans l'eau à recommander). Il ventait beaucoup quand on était là bas. La mer était houleuse. Il faisait froid quand on sortait de l'eau. Mais lorsque le vent tombait, la mer devenait calme, l'eau très claire, c'était un vrai plaisir de nager. ** petite mise en garde: lorsqu'il ne ventait pas, vous devenez la proie des moustiques. Les excursions en catamaran (85US) ou visite à la plage de Playa Pilar incluant la plongée en apnée et la visite d'une petite île (40US) à 2km de la plage NE VALENT PAS LE COUP. C'est un attrape touriste. En catamaran,on ne voyait pas de poissons car il ventait, l'eau était trouble. Au large de Playa Pilar, le courant était très très fort et on n'a que 30mn (?) de plongée, quelques mini poissons en vue. Le vendeur à l'hôtel disait qu'un bateau avec un fond de verre viendra nous chercher. Surprise, c'était un petit bateau de pêche. À l'allée, le bateau avait fait 2 voyages pour nous emmener jusqu'à l'île, car nous étions 15 personnes. Au retour, il ont embarqué tout le monde sur le bateau (!): la moitié en avant du bateau et l'autre moitié en arrière. Il n'y avait rien sur l'ile, juste un petit resto ou' on nous servait le lunch avec 2 ''drinks'' c'est à dire 2 petits verres de liqueur ou de bière (=1 canette). Les boissons alcoholisés sont à vos frais. La plage de Playa Pilar mesure à peine 500m de long et il n'y a rien à voir. Elle n'a rien de comparable aux magnifiques plages, longant l'hôtel, sur 7km.
