Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Worst Resort I Ever Been To

I felt that the staff knew nothing and were very unhelpful. They were very rude and had attitude all the time. Anytime we asked for help or more information they didn't even know there stuff or own hotel. We asked how to get to another beach nearby and asked what time the bus returned and not even that they could tell us. We have been to cuba a few times and never had such poor service in our lives. The pool and beach water was freezing also. Pool is not heated. At the spa we asked about going there even if we had to pay just to have warmer water and jacuzzi and it was out of service. This was a girlfriend trip 4 of us just looking for good music, good people and at least some nightlife. I found the food always cold even from the hot tables. It never tastes fresh. There was 4 a la cart restaurants I could only try 2 because 2 were closed. Indian was the best food by far that I had there. The italian restaurant was a HUGE disappointment. Paying a deposit on towels I found unfair and people were always stealing towels. On the beach we were scammed 2 pecos per chair by a random person who turned out not to be working for the hotel. When I told the front desk they were shocked and said no we shouldnt be charged for chairs on our own resort beach but they did nothing about it. We had a reservation for international a la cart and when looking for it I asked the front desk where it was located and at that point they told us 'the restaurant is not open'. They didn't inform us ahead of time the restaurant was not open and the person who took the reservation down was unaware that that a la cart had been closed for weeks...the first day getting there the sheets were dirty in the bed and the telephone in room was not working. Last but not least this resort ran out of drinks. Classic drinks like pina coladas and mojitos. WHO RUNS OUT OF DRINKS? The resort had a disco but its 5 pecos to go and no one was there. This resort and area has no nightlife at all. Nothing to do. At 11 pm even the lobby bar is closed. The only bar that was open 24 hours was the snack bar which I must say is disgusting to sit at. Even the main buffet area is disgusting for a resort that is 2 years old it should be in better shape. The beach water was nothing special. Had seaweed. January weather is cold and windy, but that's not resorts fault. The only good thing I can say is that the shows they put on at night including the aqua show was amazing. Other then that I would give this resort a 0/5 stars because the customer service and lack of things to do was exteremly terrible. The food also was not vegetarian friendly. Nothing was labeled properly it was hard to tell if there was meat inside things or not. Lack of labels, lack of taste/flavour, lack of hot or even warm food. Things cooked on the spot were slightly better. Overall not good for vegetarians though. I must make a point here that hola sun representitive was the nicest person we met on the trip and she did tell us about the flamengo beach party which was good considering we had no other nightlife going on. This resort may be good for families and seniors but even then I think the price and service is not worth it. The resort is not 5 stars. Not even close. You can do much better spending money somewhere else. We travelled from Jan 11-18, 2020. Stick to veradero side if you want more young people and activities to do all day and night. Grand muthu is not for nightlife. Nor is cayo coco area.

Valentin Cayo Cruz: New beautiful resort

Since it is new, everything works, rooms are very clean, grounds are maintained very well, pools are great and so is the beach. This deserves the rating of 4*. What is not at that level is food. That would be 3* max. but that is so typical for Cuba. You will always find something good to eat, you just have to be creative. If food is the number one priority on your vacation, don't come to Cuba. But if you like a beautiful beach with fine white sand where you can walk for miles, great clean pool [... read more]s (not heated) and larger new rooms with nice bathroom area, this is the place.

Melia Costa Rey: Great beach, but borderline starved

One of the nicest beaches I've ever been to. Airport close. Great staff. The food was awful though. We struggled to find things to eat and were quite ill half way through the weak. Strong drinks though lol

Melia Jardines del Rey: Good holiday for price

Hotel is starting to look tired. Lighting is a huge issue on pathways and in buildings, bring a flashlight. Check in fairly easy and took us to our rooms explaining where things were along the way. Food average for Cuba, no yogurt or cereal to speak of, also some mornings no to little bread for toast. Service was pretty good all around. International and Tex mex al a crate pretty good. Rooms large, we had a king bed, but pillows are really flat. Water was replenished regularly as well as beer. Rooms clean and towels replaced. Tv worked great. Safe worked great and it is large. Bar service was awesome. Lobby bar huge, drinks awesome. Chairs are really low and tables high, not very comfy. Entertainment brought in was good, resort entertainment average. Ladies toilet @ lobby was shut down due to flooding one day. Toilet paper and soap an issue @ times at pool. Not much for day time entertainment at pool. Played darts a couple of days. Pools kept fairly clean and grounds tidy. Beach beautiful-lots of shells so you may want water shoes. Lots of palapas @ beach and some at pool. No blender drinks @ pool, just mixed drinks and beer. Never had an issue getting a lounger, but resort was only 67% full.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Such an AMAZING beach!

Resort was very large with a good layout. Food was good at the restaurants ( but very very small portions) but buffets were awful. Food was very repetitive and never ever hot. Drinks were all very tasty. Coffee is one of the best things about Cuba! Service was great from the staff.. all were helpful and friendly. Resort is close to the airport which was super handy for the transfer there and back. I would definitely go back again for the right price but I tend to not go to the same resorts as I like to try new ones out

Melia Jardines del Rey: Fantastic service

The grounds were maintained well and were lush and beautiful. The staff are amazing and are always friendly and helpful - always with a smile on their faces. The beds were harder than I'm used to but you cant please everyone - so no big deal. We love the people in Cuba so we keep going back. We have visited this resort twice and will likely be back.

This resort is just beautiful the rooms are modern and spotless. We had fresh towels every day and our fridge was stocked every afternoon. The pools are spectacular lots of chairs so no rushing early to save one. We have been to cuba 7 times and this resort I would give 4.5 The food at buffet was great so many different varieties of food to pick from. But the A la carts needs much improvement horrible food. Management really needs to pay attention as food quality. We give it 2

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Won't go again

This wasn't the greatest resort right from the start they tried to give us a regular room when we had as diamond club room we had to threaten them to leave if they didn't fix it which they did at 530 in the morning we were so tired from being up for practically 24 hours then we had trouble with them filling the fridge, toilet paper, we had a coffee pot and they never left coffee no matter how many times we asked all in all everything was a real issue and water wasn't supplied like it should have [... read more] been for two people. The food was horrible period and drinks were watered down. Every time you talked to any staff if they understood you they gave you an argument. The entertainment wasn't great either. This is supposed to be adults resort and everything they had including excursions was geared more to the younger groups.

Melia Costa Rey: great times

Hotel was great... especially the Lobby where people congregate to socialize and to hear the great live music ... and the view of the ocean when you arrive ... WOW! the room was comfortable , hot water plentiful, no complaints . Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Outdated resort

Old resort run down no hot water for a week,broken patio door inscects galore and the mosquitos were hell.I had over 200 bite on the 2 day,By the way I had insect repellant.After 2 weeks I had over 500 bites no joke.I was itching and scratching the whole time.The staff were rude and expecting tips all the time or you get the side look.My vacation was a disaster.I could not wait to get home the only good thing was the weather.Sorry for the spelling errors.

Melia Cayo Coco: Fabulous vacation!!

The entire resort was always in tip top shape. Not a piece of trash to be found anywhere. The food was consistently great and the chefs worked diligently to make the custom orders to the vacationers liking. The staff in the buffet dining room were top notch. Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Nice budget resort

First of all this is not a good resort if you want to swim. The water is knee deep for approximately 300 yards offshore. I found a spot after walking approximately 2km,deep enough to swim but the current was very strong parallel with the shore. The place is good for kite boarding. Food not great, not terrible either 3/5. Room not bad, clean, hot water and a/c available 4/5. Resort did not have map of some kind, or an envelope for key card and other documents. Ocean vegetation most of the time, a tractor was trying to remove it everyday but only partially succeeded. Beach 3/5. Water nice and warm, nice color when no vegetation, not good for swimming, very good for kites. Water 4/5

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: A Great Resort !

Just back from an amazing week at the Daiquiri. We had read many negative reviews prior to leaving. Well we just don't understand what the negativity is all about. The staff are awesome, especially the pool entertainment team and the bartenders. The buffet/kitchen staff are so friendly and nice. Beautiful lobby and grounds. The beach is beautiful. Lots of umbrellas for shelter from the sun on both the beach and at the pool. The food is really good. Lots of variety, well prepared and much of it ' [... read more]to order'. Rooms were good - comfy bed king size bed, mini bar, excellent maid service and a very modern bathroom. Only problem we had was very low hot water pressure in the shower for a few days. It did eventually get fixed. A great week at a great resort. I highly recommend the Iberostar Daiquiri in beautiful Cayo Coco and hope you have as great an experience as we did.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful beach, amazing staff

This is my second time at this resort. The hotel was at capacity this time around which made for bit of inconvenience for room changes. Food was okay but that is to be expected in Cuba. Staff were amazing! grounds were immaculate! beach and pool were awesome. Id recommend. Planning to have our wedding here in January 2021 so hopefully it isn't as pack next time!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Loved our holiday!

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The resort is clean and well maintained with a staff who work very hard to please. The food was very good. Selection was vast and always plentiful. The waitstaff are wonderful, so personable and courteous. Our room had a great view with clean towels and restocked water and occasional beverages every day. Pool area was great with the option of being in a busier, fun part or the quieter side. Entertainment staff were fantastic! Would definitely return. Love, love, love!

Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful Resort !

Pullman Resort is a very clean resort. The rooms are cleaned very well daily..the grounds , washrooms, lobby , buffet and bar areas are very well cared for. It's a very safe resort for families with young children and awesome entertainment for them as well. The evening shows were very entertaining. A very friendly resort with excellent service !

Surprised when I saw the beautiful suites I stayed in.The People ,the food,service, the beaches ,the pools ,the supper invitations...beach and sun with umbrella refreshments... .....I could go on and on... Looking forward to returning for another two weeks. It will be trip #4

Hotel Camino del Mar: Fantastic Place!

The Beach was great, the best for walks, sunbathing and fishing on the pier. The staff at the pool bar was warm and attentive, they did a great job making you feel welcome and cared for. I did have one mechanics issue, it was quickly remedied when reported to the customer service desk. I always had plenty of fresh food choices, the beach restaurant never disappointed, nor did the buffet. A little tuning in the a la carte needed still fun times. its average at best, its old ,the AC was leaking , the toilets weren't the greatest. The buffet was a bit redundant at times , The safe wasnt working and neither was the telephone, We had asked them to fix the safe but they never did

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: A great vacation!

Memories Caribe was a perfect size for an adults only resort. The rooms were large, comfortable and clean. The AC wasn’t able to adjusted which made the room quite cold other than that, all was good with our room. The pool area was clean and had a few food options throughout the day as well as a swim up bar. Entertainment was great all week, especially the rock band that performed by the pool area.
