Playa Costa Verde: Amazing trip to Playa Costa Verde, Holguin, Cuba

Another wonderful vacation to Playa Costa Verde....Was there from Feb. 7th to the 17th....Cannot say enough about this resort....Staff, food, entertainment was perfect....I have been to this resort 12 times & will continue to vacation at my home away from home...... Always welcomed with open arms..... Returning again next year with so many people that have enjoyed this wonderful resort...

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great Vacation

Hotel was beautiful. Grounds were well maintained, easy to get around. Food was the best Ive had in Cuba (ive been to Cuba 12 times). Resort attracts older crowd mostly. Retirees, couples. Very quiet, classy, relaxing. The only negative comment I have is the rooms. We were ion block 40. Rooms are in MAJOR need of renovations. They are old, warn out.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Average resort

The grounds of the resort are nice and the beach is really great. Although there are long ways to the main buildings (depending where your room is) pools and restaurants everything is nicely landscaped. I didn't mind the stairs. The rooms are very simple but large and clean. On the negative side is the food and the bad service. Even though the buffet was huge there was the same every day and most of it wasn't good. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Good and Bad

The beach was beautiful! The pool area was nice! The food was ok. The 2 rooms we had were awful! Although there were other buildings on the resort that looked like they maybe nicer at least on the outside. 20 % of the staff was good 40% of the staff was ok 40% of the staff were very slow and not friendly. The staff on the beach were very hesitant to help people with paddle boats and kayaks. Too many panhandlers on the beach and parts of the resorts. Parts of the resort were very well k [... read more]ept but other parts were not mowed and run down. Very little entertainment and what was there was not good quality. It was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for :)

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great Resort

This was our first trip to Cuba and I have to say it far exceeded our expectations, We will definitely be going back ! We did the Jeep tour which I highly recommend. I have no complaints at all about this resort. Room was great, bed very comfortable.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Very good vacation

The hotel was very good , We had an issue with a sink pipe that was dripping on the floor but it was fixed and the floor cleaned the next day. We found the food quality had gone down from the last time we went (about 4 years ago) but it was still good. We also missed the fish and chips (it was excellent) that were available at the beach. The staff at the hotel including the Sunwing agents were great. This time around we took the Diamond Club and we enjoyed the benefits. Don Lino Hotel: Don Lino Hotel, Holguin, Cuba

We liked Don Lino very much: small, quaint, beautiful bungalows with view of beach and lovely sounds of waves. Food: little variety and repeats. Good activities. Clean and friendly. Andrea Sills. one hour from airport. Little around to visit. Restful and relaxing.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great week!

This was our first visit to Cuba and we were pleasantly surprised. The resort is beautiful. Our room was clean and in excellent condition. The bathroom was newly renovated. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beach was gorgeous. It is windy so fun waves to play in but not for you if you want calm water. The food was better than expected. Not really 5 star but enjoyable and lots of variety. Skip the snorkeling tour if the wind is up - the waves are too much and the current at the second  [... read more]stop is ridiculous. Saw a few tropical fish but nothing big to see.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Okay Resort

The resort was sold as 3.5 stars. It was not! The few problems I had, the staff was very cooperative. Food was what Cuba offer, but, I did not loose a pound! Coffee? Nothing like Cayo Coco or Santa Maria. I was very disappointed with coffee. Weak! They did not use good quality coffee. Beer, chips, hot dogs? They ran at least 4 times (or more) while we were there. For a resort of 20 years - they should know how much to stock. The beach? Amazing! Beach chairs? One day it was for the w [... read more]hite ones without cover no pay...the next day 2 pesos no matter which chair we picked! Drinks at the beach? You pay! Excursions? Great staff and lots of fun. Did I enjoy? Sure. Will we go back? No. For the first time it was okay. Was it what we expected for the money we paid? No. I've paid same amount last year for a 4 stars - 100% better looking and coffee. A few staff with an attitude but overall pretty good.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Very beautiful resort .

Clean , lots of character with the beautiful stone work and the 3 pools cascading into one another . Plenty of trees and birds singing . Lots of stairs and grades to walk up , which is one thing we liked about it . You're getting a bit of exercise while on vacation .

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Good resort

This hotel is very clean and spacious. We were not sure going to Cuba again because we have not enjoyed ourselves any other time we have gone. The food was not bad here:). The hospitality at this resort was top notch I couldn't ask for better service it was incredible. This was by far the best trip we had in Cuba

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Awesome time at Amigo as always

Lots of good improvements been many times this time noticed lots more servers in bars.. New lobby bar is very nice. The bar staff very friendly .food was good lots of places to eat maids are wonderful..more fun entertainment around main pool cant wait to go back next year see what else is new as lots of work continuing definately our home swsu from home..travelled outside resort several times people are friendly and its very safe

Sol Turquesa Beach: Relaxing time

Staff was amazing, lines at the buffet can be long and annoying, beach is nice, lots of walking and stairs to get to where you want to go, a la cartes are really good, beware of the “smoke truck”, entertainment was ok, rooms are nice, resort is quiet and relaxing

Playa Costa Verde: Friendly Staff

Just returned from our trip to Playa Costa Verde. We found the staff very friendly making our stay very enjoyable. However we did run into a few hickups. Upon arrival at 2:00 am checking into our room we walked into water all over the floor, standing at the sink water was dripping from the ceiling and was coming out from under the sink.Had to throw towels on the floor so we wouldn't fall Next morning we went to the front desk and ended up upgrading to a pool side room. We were told with  [... read more]the upgrade a bottle of rum was included. Upon arriving at our upgraded room there was no mini fridge or rum, had to report them missing at the front desk. We went back to the front desk again and was told no rum was included with the upgrade after discovering the fridge arrived with no rum. We went to Public relations room and everything was cleared up, they were very helpful! Not as helpful at the front desk, comments made from a few guests we ran into. Quite a few people we talked to including my friend ended up sick during our stay, having to spend a day or two in their rooms with stomach cramps and diarrhea. The grounds were kept very clean and tidy, the staff cleaning our room wonderful.

This was our third visit to this hotel. Go with an open mind and you will enjoy. The beach is beautiful and the staff wonderful. Our villa room was always clean and the ocean view is spectacular. Met some people that have been to this resort 48 times😀

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great beach, outdated resort.

Room was fine, large, nice bathroom renovation. Resort common areas need some TLC. Beach was fantastic. Food was a disappointment, and we tried to keep our expectations low. Service was very good in some respects, lacking in others.

Don Lino Hotel: Good quality max 700 a week

I booked a bungalow and got a standard room in a 3 room cottage. Book standard room to get a bungalow loll. Some renovations made for a noisy environment near the room. Otherwise all was okay for what it's worth. Staff was outstanding and unobtrusive. Grounds were clean and well kept. I would return in a heartbeat!

Don Lino Hotel: Go with the flow!

Arrival is a bit of a shock, 1 key per room that takes some jiggling to work, seriously dark at night with very few working outdoor lights, rickety stairs with no reality check of who would be using them and poor walking surfaces are your new reality. Do not let it deter you as it does get better. Switching the room was my choice and necessary as we are older with walking and stair issues that were recorded/passed on by tripcentral, thankfully. The people of Cuba in this area are lovely. The attention given by the horse and buggy driver Autoral unbelievable. Relax, take a ride, enjoy the sights, the delicious, affordable restaurants and the surrounding beaches. If you do that you will have the trip of a lifetime! Expect a cottage type vacation and you will not be disappointed.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Very Pleasant Location

Set on hills, this resort is very beautiful, especially the beach, with its coral reef and azure sea. Our room was very spacious, clean and was equipped with fridge, (barely functioning), TV, hair dryer, iron, ironing board and balcony with a pleasant view of trees. We were located about a seven minute walk from the main lobby and dining room which we did not mind. Trolleys were available for those needing transportation. The buffet food was plentiful and of reasonable quality but the dinin [... read more]g area was inadequate for the large number of people. Staff were visibly stressed and the line -ups for cooked items were unacceptable, especially on St. Valentine’s Day when the locals came to enjoy the resort. On that occasion, there were line-ups just to get into the dining room. Two of the a-la-carte restaurants, the Cuban and the Romantico were excellent. I would not recommend the Italian one as the food was sub standard and the wait staff not as friendly. The facility for currency exchange was woefully inadequate as there was always a long line which moved very slowly. Overall our stay was very pleasant. An expanded dining room, more washrooms in the public areas and more staff to handle the crowds would be welcome improvements.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Amazing Beach

This hotel sits on an amazing beach and has top notch staff. The rooms need updating but with all the other high points, it is easy to ignore the tired rooms. The food is ok for Cuba, we never go hungry. The staff is top notch - very caring and want you to have a great vacay.
