Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Looks nice on pictures

Nice: beach and seawater Main restaurant: Serious health issues handling food. Small in size for number of guests. Shortage of food and western drinks (no Gin/Tonic, Black Russian, Mojito available). Overcrowded beach, not enough beach chairs. cannot find chair after 7:30am Snack bar - missed orders multiple times, unfriendly senior worker. Lobby bar - service is good (mostly Cuban and Russian spirits) Beach and pool bar - service is good. Pool - OK Shows - average (Rock, Cuban, [... read more] M. Jackson, Movie Songs) DO NOT exchange Canadian money for pesos, bring US bills for tips. Pesos is a worthless paper even for Cubans!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Very bad hotel

We’re should I start no food they ran out of food and pop daily food was cold and tasted like garbage I preordered a room on the second or 3 floor when I got there they gave me a ground floor …. Omg the rooms r dirty they smell like mold the cockroaches are out of this world overall a bad resort to go to !!!!!!!!

Playa Vista Azul: Restaurants are dissapointing

The Hotel is OK, but the food is the same again and again for the whole week or the entire vacation. They have 5 a la carte restaurants, 3 already close (maybe bec cost cutting bec of the pandemic)so there are only 2 left the italian and intl food restaurants. they dont accept reservation, so, you have to wait for a long line up, (So hassle and dissapointing). Grand Memories Varadero: Extremely Dissapointing

1. The room bed linen was never changed in the 7 days that we were there. We had to ask for towels, and were given clean bath towels only once. The bed sheets and pillows smelled like body odor from previous guests from the day we checked in, and were never changed in the 7 days that we were there. 2. We did not receive clean beach towels, and the pool side towel place was always closed. We receive a clean beach towel on the last day. 3. We had to ask for more toilet paper, and were given [... read more] some 2 days later. 4. We found 4 cockroaches in the bathroom on different days. 5. The safe in the room we were given was not working. 6. Upon check in and asking for rooms in Sanctuary, we were told there were none available. We found out on the last day that Sanctuary was in fact open and available. 7. The beach snack bar service was very poor. My boyfriend did not even receive his order of food. We were waiting for over an hour and we had to leave without it. 8. The beach bar ran out of beer, and was not replenished until the next day. 9. The food at the buffet was either cold or ran out and not replenished. 10. We attempted to go to the pool, but found the water murky and pool mouldy. We were told that we would be in the adult only section, and were looking for a peacful and pleasant experience. But clearly we were not in the adult section. There were loud unruly kids occupying all areas. 11. The hygiene and cleanliness were at an extreme low, and the service at the beach snack bar were very obviously catered to the large number of locals staying at the hotel, and who were being served piles of food, where as the rest of us were being served after them although we arrived before them. And we were then being told they could not serve us certain things, never returned with some food orders. This was not acceptable. The only saving grace was the beach and the ocean. We will not be staying at this resort again, and do not recommend. What would make this right for us is a refund, or a credit to a different resort, to make up for the disappointing experience at Grand Memories, Varadero.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Royalton Resort was OK .. 7 out of 10

Restaurants need some help ,, food was the way most people have described Cuban Cuisine ,, not one restaurant i would recommend . but the staff was always pleasant . I previously , before covid stayed at the Santa Maria Royalton ,, which i really enjoyed

Blau Varadero: Personally was not impressed at all.

I love going to Cuba, I find the people really nice and well educated which makes it fun to interact. The staff did not disappoint on that aspect. I never expected much from the food but at the Blau, it was the worse I have ever eaten to the point that I would skip meals. Left overs were served repeatedly and the food had NO Flavour. The shows are not only sub standard but also badly promoted. We never knew what was going on. Starfish Cuatro Palmas: the starfish quatro palmas is amazing very very very good

i would say almost every things in this hotel is very good the lobby and the restaurant end the pool and the bar there is the flyes buthering the people but flyes dont pick which is good but in all i am very satisfied

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort

Great resort for people who are looking to relax, since it's adults only. But be aware that there will still be 18 yrs old, who like to drink and be loud. Beach is amazing. So close to this part of the resort.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Memories Cuba

Myself and hubby stayed at Iberostar Playa Alameda from June26 to July 3 2022. Lots of beautiful mileage of beach to explore. Local vendors on the beach. Plenty of fresh fruit options available. Hotel staff and bartenders are super friendly and so helpful. Nightly shows available and extra entertainment on certain days of the week. Lots of additional tours available for extra cost. Food is bland but they do have options available to make your dish spicier. Rooms are clean and  [... read more]stocked daily with fresh towels. Drinks included unlimited and they serve the best cappuccino and mochachino. Pool table and tennis table available and included in all inclusive. Three alacartes available for Italian Caribbean and Romantico meals. Eduardo Chuc went over and beyond to make sure I had vegetarian meals.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Not as good as it was before Covid19

This was our third visit to Royalton Hicacos resort and i never thought that will say this but most likely will be the last one. So many has changed since our last visit in 2019. Rooms seem to be painted recently and that’s pretty much it, but food, entertainment, beach etc. is no longer what made this resort different than all others. Food - i hate saying this but it was so bad, we have struggled with food every day, breakfast, lunch or dinner, we just could not eat almost anything. Meat, bee [... read more]f, pork or chicken was so chewy, fish choices so bad, there was almost no fresh salads, most of salads were pickled salads, no fresh tomato, no lemon or onions. There were croissants served for breakfast and that was the best thing to eat. Choice of cold cuts was very limited and served the same staff during a day. There was also no orange juice at all, all that was served was watered down papaya and watermelon juice which we tried once only. Cooks on bbq stations look like they just learned how to cook, everything was too salty, and we didn’t dare to try anything else as it didn’t look that great. I don’t what changed since 2019, or 2018, but food then and now were totally different. Cuba was never about the food, everyone knows that but this time was bad, really. This resort had great entertainment in the past, we used to enjoy piano bar after dinner and live bands at the lobby bar, but this year was so lame, boring and short. Band or girl would come, play few lullabies, make long breaks, play another few songs and leave. People were so bored that at 10 PM the bar would be half empty, guests leaving disappointed. Beach was absolutely the best part, but comparing with previous times, there was no water stands with ice and lime in the morning, no BBQ hotdogs stand beside the volleyball area, and the beach was not cleaned daily so you could find cigarette butts and empty plastic cups. Staff, depending where they work, receptionists were very polite and smiling all the time, but buffet staff not so. Most of them looked so tired and not interested in work, they probably work long hours as we could see the same faces early in the morning and at lunch as well. This year there was no need to book any a la carte restaurants, it was first come first serve. We went just once, the beach restaurant, seafood choice, it was tiny half lobster tail with additional small piece of beef steak, and it was not great at all, so we decided not to go to any other. Room service, not great, one day they would fill the fridge with bottle of water and 2 small pops, the other day they wouldn’t leave anything. We did complain to the receptionist and that seem to work for few days. Leaving a tip would help for a day or two. All in all, was not what we expected, considering everything from Covid19 to global economic situation. Are we going to return eventually? Probably not.

Hotel Bella Costa: Amazing Cuban time

Took my sister on a birthday trip and would recommend this resort and would absolutely go back. The staffs made you feel welcomed, from Linsay, to the amazing entertainment crew especially, Yoisel, to the best cleaner I have ever experienced Mabel. Those peopled named made this a trip to remember. I will be going back to Cuba and I will absolutely stay here. Also, Frankie as part of the entertainment crew was great as well. Had such a good time can't stop smiling.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Never again to Cuba

I rarely write a negative review and always try to look at the half filled cup only, but in Cuba it’s 90% empty cup. The beach was the ONLY thing that was astonishing!!!! Other than that everything was very VERY disappointing!!! It’s out of their control, I understand, but not my fault either..that’s why I’ll never visit Cuba. I would pay a little bit extra and be in a place where I can get my basic needs. In Cuba, basic needs are not met! Playa Vista Azul: Family vacation to Playa Vista Azul

We travelled as an extended family (5 adults and 2 young children aged 1 & 3). We were a little worried based on some of the reviews and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised. Yes the resort has seen better days, yes there are many areas for improvement. T [... read more]he food is repetitive but considering where you are, and how little the general population has, it’s really a shame to complain about anything. If you go, bring old clothes, toys and medicines to leave for the staff. They’ll be very appreciative. Also, although they now accept Canadian dollars directly as tips, their banks don’t accept coins so US 1$ bills are preferred.

Sol Palmeras: Great resort!

Really nice resort with incredibly nice staff and great service. The beach was outstanding! The rooms were really nice and clean. The animation team was great by providing activities and shows at night.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing Resort

Beautiful resort , amazing landscape , beautiful beach , clean and nice rooms , staff people are very friendly. Quality and quantity of food was poor , but I think that was because of Corvid and not many people . I think when the season picks up the food will be better .

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Nice resort …. Beautiful beach!!

Keeping in mind all limitations of been in Cuba it is a very nice resort, food is good service is good and people friendly and the beach is amazing …. Definitely I will return ….. if you want to enjoy the beach this is your hotel.

Melia Las Americas: Hotel Las Americas

Lets start with the good! The beach and water is one of the best cleanest turquoise kind of water you can find on the earth. The weather is unbelievably hot and humid at this time of the year so if your looking for a place to tan well and enjoy hot weather Varadero and this hotel is for you. The food is cheap if you go off the hotel strip and take a day trip to downtown Varadero and you can have a great family time. The bad for Melia La America There is always a shortage of entertainment, at night there is no investment to enjoy a good time. They dont have enough servers to remotely take care of guests when everyone comes into the main place in the middle of the hotel The hotel lacks alot of basic things to the average north american, butter is scarce in the morning, room service takes forever since they have minimal staff, I found staff swimming in the pools with thier dirty cloths thinking no one was watching. Overall service is gone wayyyyyy down on this hotel in the past 4yrs. Its barely a 3 star in my opinion. This hotel used to be great, but quality of food, service, entertainment and lack of food choices are the worst its ever been. Sorry I would totally recommend anyone to not go to this hotel. it no longer brings value for your money.

Very poor food, no Chechen, meet bread ,..... Beach very good and clean, service grate the attitude great, we complain about food, the answer suppliers problems , what about the fish,no answer last 2 days we get sick with coved.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Perfect Vacation

My husband and I have been to this resort 8 times.. they have never disappointed us.. we travelled to Varadero Cuba the week of June 9th for 11 days.. We stayed at Sanctuary the adult portion of Grand Memories. Our plane arrived at 7pm, we had a taxi waiting for us and arrived at Sanctuary at 745pm. Easy check in our good friend Militza had waited for our arrival. Showed us to our room and made a reservation for us at Al a carte restaurant.. it was an absolutely perfect first day of holiday. Alled is the beach bartender.. Barbie is the supervisor for food and beverage a really sweet girl with a beautiful smile that she shares with everyone .. the rooms are a little tired but they are spotless .. we don’t go for the rooms we go for the people and the beach.. and they are above and beyond. They are working very hard to get back to where they were before Covid..I We had great food ..bacon and eggs every morning and never left hungry after any meal.. we ended our vacation happy and relaxed .. A big thank you to management and staff .. we will definitely return ♥️♥️
