Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Tired resort

My partner and I were at the Sol May2 - May 9, 2024. It was our 4th visit at the Sol and were very pleased with the renovations. The bungalows were all freshly painted on the exterior and the rooms were updated and very modern. Unfortunately,the hammock style chairs on the balcony were very uncomfortable making it very difficult to get up from, so we hardly made use of the balcony. Furthermore, we encountered a strong smell in the room due to strong sewage fumes coming into the room through the  [... read more]AC unit and also in the bathroom. I had to hold my breath as long as possible in order to use the bathroom. My partner was ill from inhaling the fumes during the night as well. I'm guessing that the renos were mostly cosmetic, but the infrastructure needs revamping as well. On the positive side, the beach was fantastic and the staff very accomodating. This will be our last visit to Sol.

Sol Caribe Beach: Beautiful compact resort

Beautiful modern clean resort on a gorgeous stretch of beach. Staff are very gracious and attentive. All drinks are very good. Coffee bar is a nice touch too. Lots of nice seating areas inside and out. Food was plentiful during our stay, thoroughly enjoyed our stay as a couple and would definitely return.

Melia Las Americas: Beautiful Resort!

Lovely resort for adults! The architecture, landscaping and pool areas were beautiful. I loved how many tall palm trees there were, which is not typical for Cuban resorts. They had a newly built deck with modern furniture that had stunning views of the sunset. Beach was beautiful and well kept. I’ve been to 4 other Cuban resorts and I think this one had the best tasting food. The rooms in the main building were older/dated which is what you should expect in Varadero, but if you get an ocean  [... read more]view room, you don’t notice it. The views are stunning and my room was filled with natural light. They have newer built bungalows in the level areas which is about a 3-5 minute walk from the main building.

Playa Vista Azul: Best value

There's no boring moment. There always something fun, happy to do. From pool parties to performance shows the entertainers are there to insure the vacation is memorable. Food,drinks, beaches and rooms all call for more trips. Can't wait to bring my whole family.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Great Stay

First all inclusive in Cuba and we had a great time. The beaches were the highlight of our visit. We had lots of private time as the resort was far from full due to the time of year. Staff was great and any concerns we had were quickly addressed by Public Relations desk.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: AMAZING resort!!

We had such an amazing time at Memories Flamenco! My partner (21M) and I (22F) went to memories flamenco for the first time and our stay was from May 4-11th 2024 and we were very pleased with everything! We opted in for Diamond Club and we highly recommend due to the faster service, extra dinner reservation, and greater selection/variety of alcohol. FOOD: the food was spectacular, safe to say the best eats we had thus far in Cuba... as we've been many times. Seemed to be no shortages, but thi [... read more]s could be because we went at the beginning of their slow season. There was chicken, beef, pork, fish, and even fresh calamari! Although, i will mention on our final day (May 11) they shut down the main buffet and cut the amount of staff in half to prepare for their slow season! This wasn't ideal, but we couldn't complain because it was our last day. Keep this in mind if you are planning to go during may-september. You'll find longer wait times for food and drink and a lesser variety of foods at the smaller buffet. STAFF: the staff was amazing throughout the entire resort! All were so kind and pleased to serve you, we made plenty of friends with staff, and they were all so grateful for the tips and gifts we brought for them. NIGHTLIFE: As a young couple, we were hoping to have a more eventful nightlife. As they were downsizing they shutdown the sports bar which wasn't ideal. With no disco on-site, made nights more calmer. Although there is a disco 10 minute walk away which we didn't make it to. We were originally unsure of what we were going to get out of Memories flamenco due to the reviews and prices, but we were greatly impressed! We will definitely be returning to Memories Flamenco, and highly recommend this resort!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Very Enjoyable Resort

Rooms were quite large. The security box did not work but repairs were made in one day. All the workers were very respectful and helpful. The hotel grounds are beautifully kept. Evening shows were excellent except for one rain-out. Most days there was great music outside the buffet. The specialty restaurants were very good. There was very seldom any lack of food...lots of selection and food. I would certainly return again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good resort

Its a resort for retired people or someone that wants a calm vacation. If your young and looking for a party this is not it. The food was good. I did upgrade to royal service it is worth it. The beach was not that nice and was not cleaned. Most of the staff aren’t friendly there was a couple of them who were really nice and funny who made our trip better. Orestes wonderful bartender!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: We had some issues

Club beach bar wasn’t open a single day, buffets closed and the manager screamed constantly at guests. There was a couple days where the only thing that was open was the snack bar; and they only had hot dogs at nighttime. I was extremely dissatisfied in the resort and the way they ran things while we were staying there. The manager was the WORST representation of this resort and there needs a change to be made in order for me to consider going back. Leo, Lixander and Taiyanis are the only reason we would go back. They provided the best service I’ve ever had and did so with a great attitude. I’d book another trip to Cuba tomorrow if they were on a different resort, which is unfortunate. But these people find a way to stay “AWESOME” and I’ll never forget the memories we made with them. These 3 individuals are the only reason we were able to make the most of this trip.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Resort review

The grounds of this resort are beautiful, pool was great and all of the public areas were lovely. Our room certainly needs updating, the air conditioner was far too cold the first few days and couldn't be adjusted, maintenance came in and turned it off but then for the rest of out stay we didn't have any air conditioning and it became very hot in the room. The shower leaked and ran out into the room so we had to clean that up every day. There were holes in our sheets. The beds covered up the 2 [... read more]20v outlets so we didn't find those until after I blew my hair dryer.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Resort

Clean and comfortable. Food was OK. Staff were excellent. Beautiful beach and lots of loungers. Loved the pool. Music was not too loud. I'm old LOL. Everything was in close proximity and would definitely go back

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Not so much resort

1st 3 days..it was very very cold in our room. Even Shut off the A/C. Still very cold. Maintenance came. Next 3 days we had no A/C. Temperature 34 Celsius. Holes in bedsheets. Whenever the shower was used, water leaked into the bedroom area. Grounds were lovely

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Awesome 7 day stay!!

Extremely well laid out resort, tastefully colored and decorated and clean as a whistle EVERYWHWERE. A very friendly and appreciative staff. Accommodations were very comfortable. Entertainment was professional and quite impressive. The bars could use a menu to identify what is available. Having more options for drink mixes like ginger ale, coconut water and fresh lemons and limes would be a favorable improvement as well. Two thumbs up for no harassment by vendors anywhere. Iberostar Coral Holguin: Very nice resort

Small resort with beautiful rooms. Fantastic pool. Everything is very close except for the beach. Perfect size for us as we could be sociable but still have private time when wanted. Closest beach is very shallow which would be great for people from the selection side that have young children, but not great for adults from the Coral side. Our Butlers Laritza and Junior were fantastic, handling meal reservations and always checking to see if we OK or if there was anything they could do for us. Carlos the entertainment coordinator was very active and trying to involve guests in activities. He has a beautiful voice and often played his guitar and sang songs requested by guests. All staff very friendly and helpful. Servers in buffet and restaurants always smiling and service great.Beach towels in room and they were exchanged every evening, along with other towels in bathroom. Also, for the first time in over 20 years of visiting the Caribbean, face cloths were provided and exchanged with towels morning and evening. Hasn’t been a big deal as we learned early to take our own, but since they have never been provided before, I felt this was worth mentioning. Note: while not part of my review, I would like to encourage guests to not use Canadian loonies and toonies for tipping. These can’t be used by workers as Cuban banks will not take them. The down side of this is that workers are stuck with this useless money, unless guests will exchange then for Canadian bills.

Memories Jibacoa: Beautiful resort

We enjoyed every moment … great people … great service… great friends old and new. We will be back and can’t wait! The weather was perfect as it has been for our last 4 visits and it it so nice to go back to a place where we feel familiar and where we feel at ‘home’.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Exceeded expectations

We visited this resort May 1-8 and had an amazing time. We previously stayed here 12 years ago and loved it then, but with all the shortages and stories of bad food and poor drink selection, we went with low expectations. We were plesantly surprised by how good the food was and there were plenty of choices at all the bars. Our room was adequate, clean with plenty of hot water to shower and nice cool air conditioning. We have travelled all over Cuba and Mexico and this resort remains one of our favorites!

Melia Internacional: Fantastic Resort!!

Great location. Very clean, well maintained, all rooms are clean and modern. There are 2 buffets and other specialty restaurants with great delicious food choices. Also, every day there is a BBQ in the garden with plenty of options to eat. The Beach was beautiful with plenty of chairs at all times with crystal clear waters and no seaweed or bugs. Resort is 10-15 mins walk to Varadero if you wish to go to the town or you can take panoramic bus stop in front of the Resort. Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Private and chill

The hotel was very quiet. It almost felt like we were staying at a private resort. The staff was amazing and accommodating for all of our requests. The rooms were very clean and quite large with a beautiful view. We were a very large group and they went over and beyond for us. The beach was not the nicest i have seen but it was still good. Iberostar Coral Holguin: exceptionally comfortable

The Iberostar Holguin Coral was everything you need for a relaxing, comfortable stay in Cuba. Comfortable, spacious rooms, excellent room staff, beautiful pool right at your door, thoughtful administration staff. Wait staff and bartenders were courteous and quick (with most times a smile, in spite of how busy they all were). Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: sweet sanctuary

As an older adult travelling alone for rest and recuperation, this was a perfect choice: a sweet sanctuary from everyday life. I met many repeat guests at this small adult-only resort. The check-in was very organized and efficient. The meals, drinks and snacks were always available. This hotel runs like clockwork. I felt very safe and taken care of. My room was super clean and had everything I needed: cold fridge with water refills, drip coffee maker (some rooms had the pod coffee mach [... read more]ines), large bathroom (big shower) and a balcony with ocean and pool view. Accommodations: Most rooms on this property have excellent views of the pool and the ocean. The buildings and grounds are clean, well laid out and there are many accessible options (ramps, bathrooms, first floor rooms). If you bring an HDMI cable you can play any movie from your phone to the TV (so you don't have to watch the news). Wifi was good enough to send messages and do video calls. Food: The deserts and omelettes were delicious. The beach dinner sunset BBQ was thoughtful and tasty. As a non-drinker I had many options of fancy drinks and was able to enjoy the full experience of an all-inclusive. Beach: There are many pockets of natural areas to spend some time away from the crowd. Footpaths take you to more than one "wild" beaches nestled in between the two main "serviced" beaches, one at each end of the property. Each of the two main beaches has sun shelters, beach chairs, a snack shack and a bar. Lots of nature to look at. Great people.
