Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Not the greatest

It was a great looking hotel and great staff but I would never recommend this hotel. Terrible food, wasn’t clean, pool was as cold as an ice bath, and never had any supplies when needed. Will not go back.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Cayo Guillermo

The grounds were well maintained. The rooms were not. What bothered me most was that their septic system was gross. Toilets did not flush if you used toilet paper. I was told I had to put the paper in the trash can. The showers were iffy. Worked sometimes, not other times. Beach was good. Food was typical for Cuba. My roommate was happy with the fishing wharf. You might consider me a fussy person, but I was not the only one not happy.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Absolutely Wonderful Resort

This is our fourth time at this resort. We love it there. The staff have always been friendly and very accommodating. It's just the right size where you don't have lineups everything is a short walk away.. The rooms are a good size as are the beds (starting to get worn, a little hard and flat pillows). The buffet has a good selection of food choices. We love the omelet station at breakfast and the bread is always fresh to make toast or just to eat like that with butter. It's way to strong now but the lobby bar can make you a nice cappuccino. As a matter of fact I think the best drinks are the lobby bar and beach bar. The pool is a good size and very nice. A few spots with tiles missing here and there. The snack shack has good Poutine and the pizza station just before the boardwalk to the beach is fantastic. There's entertainment during the day in the lobby and they have shows every evening at 9:30 in the theater. The bathrooms are okay but the one in the lobby area can become quite smelly as they are used the most. The beach is just beautiful it's our favorite spot. Plenty of space, not over crowded at all. Plenty of little huts and chairs as well. They had deep fried fish plates with rice and mussels every day and sometimes fresh made Churros. The gardens and trees are very well kept. We got to have a late 4:00 checkout for being repeat vacationers and we will be going back there again next year.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Definitely suffice

I just returned from a solo trip at Meliá Jardines del Rey, I enjoyed my stay. I always found something to eat. A la carts were okay. The staff was friendly and helpful at every level from reception to the beach. My room was clean but slightly dated. Many activities to choose from, plus a 2 minute walk from the disco and shopping. Beach was very beautiful clean and not rocky. Non motorized activities were nice. The bartenders were good and a good selection of drinks were available. Wifi was spo [... read more]tty some days but worked in specific areas. Close proximity to the airport. Many excursions. I feel the value for what I paid was good.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Amazing Resort

This is a clean and well run hotel. Beautiful rooms and grounds. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. It’s an adult resort but not loud at all. I would highly recommend this resort to family and friends.

Melia Cayo Coco: Love this resort

From the moment we arrived this resort was top, great food, clean rooms, beautiful grounds, hope to return real soon We have been to many resorts in Cuba and this was by far the best. The beach was very windy all week, but would be great on calm days. Staff are very friendly and although an older building the rooms are kept very clean.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Nice resort

The grounds were very nice and the rooms pretty good. Food was much better. Unfortunately the room staff wasn’t as good as the last time we were there. A couple times we didn’t get any towels and water. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar staff was very good except one would give to his friend before other customers and I heard him say this to a customer waiting. We booked the adults only section and people brought their kids to the pool and restaurant. I thought this was  [... read more]wrong as we paid extra for adults only. But overall was a nice holiday.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Terrific resort for adults

Beautiful warm ocean. The beach is rocky near the bar, but gets sandier further west. It was well worth walking the extra meters. Staff were friendly and helpful. The International a la carte restaurant was disappointing. We much preferred the quality and variety of foods at the buffet, which was always amply supplied. Overall, we had a great time from start to finish.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Beautiful Spanish resort

We had an amazing week at the Colonial. Our room was very clean and had a perfect ocean view. The staff at this place are the best. The beach is long and beautiful. This isn’t a new fancy resort but they are busy painting and upgrading all the time . We loved that it felt like a little Spanish town! Our only complaint is we had an issue with hot water in our room but we didn’t ask to change rooms due to our beautiful view.

Melia Costa Rey: Family vacation

The Pullman Cayo Coco was superb. The staff was extremely pleasant....very accommodating. The pools were a bit on the cool side, but possibly because it was so windy. All in all I would highly recommend this resort!!!

Sol Cayo Coco: 4th visit but likely our last!

We have visited this resort in 2012, 2015 & 2016 but think our January 2020 trip will be our last. We met many guests who were repeat customers. We went back because : the hotel is not huge (about 500 maximum occupancy), the staff are truly fantastic, it offers 2 beaches, there was a great beach restaurant and it was great value. This trip we still found the staff to be super friendly and helpful - some have been there for over 20 years and many remembered us from 2016. The beaches are great ,  [... read more]one windy but one sheltered. However in 2017 hurricane Irma sadly destroyed the beach restaurant (plus about 400 palm trees). While the hotel has done a great job to restore the $50 million of damage but has not replaced the beach restaurant leaving it with only one a la carte. They have put in a lunchtime beach "tiki-hut" grill but all it served were hamburgers and fries and seemed to open randomly. The buffet as in most resorts offered a variety including two cooking stations (eggs/pancakes etc for breakfast and meat/fish/pasta/pizza at lunch and dinner). While there was always something we could find to eat it was pretty much the same every day with little creativity. With only one a-la-carte (which was very good) the buffet needs to be a lot better for 7 lunches and 6 dinners in a row! The bars offer a good variety of drinks and the service was always excellent. Tips are appreciated and gratefully accepted but not looked for. The entertainment staff work had to create fun and the evening shows featured great dancers. Communication about activities and shows was very poor. Just a notice board and single page sheet which seemed the same as 2016! On a few nights the schedule changed without notice so we ended up eating dinner and missing the singer. The rooms are badly in need of upgrades. They (and the hotel overall) are very clean but our shower stall leaked water over the bathroom. lights didn't work and drawers were falling apart. Despite the shortfalls we still enjoyed our week especially at the price. The hotel was surveying guests so hopefully they will make some changes. I doubt we will return but as long as you go for the beach, the drinks, the fun and ok food it is worth considering.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Resort

Resort was wonderful, small resort easy to get around. Rooms were good, food was excellent for Cuba. Only thing was the wind, great for Kite surfers, but not beach lovers. Maybe the beach is not so windy in peak season.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Very Nice resort

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this resort. It was my first time visiting and recommended. The people here are great! The smiles, hellos from anyone that was working, it didn't matter in what capacity. The rooms, grounds, were very good. One of my top picks for hotels in Cuba. The food... its fine. You won't starve by any stretch. Its just lacks variety and seasoning which we are used to. Drinks are plentiful. The beach is very nice. For our week it was unusually windy according to [... read more] staff there so alot of seaweed washed up. It was pushed to one side which left the beach clean and ready to be enjoyed! Overall, we enjoyed the resort and would highly recommend and return too.

Melia Jardines del Rey: I got sick there but I can go back

I love Cuba and first time I got really sick in Cuba was at this resort. I guess I ate something didn't go well with me. I was vomiting all day and had diary for nine days there and I haven't recovered yet in Canada. I found Cockroaches in the draw next to my bed on my 5th day there. I took pictures and showed to customer service. They send over people to spray the room and the bed but I couldn't stay there. Next day, they gave me better room. You can imagine the rest and I don't have to write what others are writing. Pros: Great location, close to airport. Buildings are new well kept. Excellent costumer service. " front desk, manager Carlos solves the issues. Great main bar(huge), open 24 hours. A lot of restaurants, my favor was "oriental" and "Mediterranean". They have great service and great food. Room service is impeccable. Water and beers in your room 95%. ------------------- Cons: Two crowded Buffet has the same food every day, no changes. Lines are too long to get an omelet, fish, pasta or meat. Some employees don't clean tables well at the buffet. The wines are not good at all at the bars and buffet...cheap wine. -------------------------- Don't pay extra for room "elegance". I never got anything ------ This is not a bad resort. I got sick but I will go there again.

Hotel Playa Coco: Five Star Beach and Three Star Resort

Lovely staff. Beautiful beach. The food was good. The rooms were large and clean. The location to the beach and resort size was perfect. No A/C or hot water was quite annoying. I would return to this hotel tomorrow if I was able!

Gran Muthu Imperial: Amazing And Very Clean Resort

My stay at the Gran Muthu Imperial, was amazing, it was my first time going to Cuba and I enjoy every minute of it, the Resort was Impeccable Clean, the Staff is amazingly Friendly and is hands on in assisting you with whatever you may need, my only regret is the weather was not very corporative, during my stay it was rather windy and chilly, but hey that’s nature, I will definitely go back to that same resort on my next visit in Aug of this year 👍🏼

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Cuban Beauty

This beach is amazing!!! We had the most breathtaking view. Oceanview room, block 4. The walks on the beach were very calming. You can walk forever it seems. The sand was white and the water so blue. The staff were warm and welcoming. I felt like I was continually making new friends. There was a huge selection of different drinks, and we tried our best to sample most of them ;) We found the food inconsistent for the most part, but there were some things we discovered we enjoyed, like the b [... read more]lack beans and fresh cheese. Yum yum! You won't go hungry, but if you're picky you may struggle. I would come here again in a heartbeat

Hotel Camino del Mar: nice resort!

I just stayed at this hotel last week (January 12th-19th) and it was very nice! If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing place this is the resort! The food was good, no issues with anything. Lots to eat and always lots of fresh meat on the grill. The room could use some updating but was very clean. Our ceiling leaked twice, but maintenance came very quickly to fix it. Our safe was also not working in the room, and they came early morning to fix it. Overall clean room just a little out dated. [... read more] The beach was very nice! Long white sand beach, but it was very windy. There were lots of wind surfers in the ocean, and it was a red flag every day. We still swam in the ocean but did not go out very far. The pool area was very nice and clean. The washrooms all have very short doors and the toilets in the public washrooms didn’t flush properly. Overall i enjoyed the resort, and i would visit again for a relaxing holiday!

Hotel Camino del Mar: Excellent Staff

We had a great time. The staff there were amazing. Very friendly. They made you feel at home. The pier is beautiful. The grounds were very well kept. We are at all 3 Al la Carte and I have to say they were among the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Would definitely go back to this resort.
