Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: It's a gem of a resort once you get past the lobb

Although some of the furniture in the lobby and beach chairs could use some updating this was a nice resort and I would consider going back. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was great but service was some times a little slow. The proximity from our room to the beach was awesome. Yes there is seaweed in the water but not big deal. They have a tractor that does it's best to collect the seaweed that washes ashore and yes there is some in the water but nothing that The beach was n [... read more]ice but it could have been raked better by the beach chairs. Not any fault of the staff, many guests were quick to litter and leave their cigarette butts all over the place. There are no tables to put drinks or beach bags on the beach. Beach bar service was a 5 Star! I have traveled to many 5 star resorts and never experienced the service that I got here. If your fortunate enough to be there when Gabriel is working she will look after you. :) Caesar (who works at reception) was amazing and worked with my sister and I to upgrade our room. Once again excellent customer service. Entertainment at this resort was great! There was always something to do and you didn't have to go looking for a disco if you wanted to listen to music and dance. Lots going on by the pool bar. Shows were great and although we didn't travel with children we did notice on several walks there was always something for kids to do. Just to be clear even though there is a family section to this resort you wouldn't know unless you went looking for it. We would see children and breakfast and the buffet in the evenings but other than that the odd time there would be a child in the swim up pool area with parents. Grounds and pools are well maintained. Rooms are decent. The main thing...they are clean :) No this resort is not a 5 Star but great value for your money and I would go back. :)

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great Resort

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation with a beautiful beach, this is the resort. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The food and service was very good. I loved the live music / DJ every night down at the pool bar area. We had an amazing time.

What a great hotel! Grounds were kept clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, beach was a perfect size! Mr Carlos in the lobby bar and Pablo in the Fresca/ pool bar were simply amazing! Good mix of families and couples in all age ranges! Entertainers were amazing! Wonderful food selections!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Ocean Coral &Turquesa Great Vacation!!!

This is the best resort I have been to in Mexico or Cuba. Everything is within two minutes of walking. They are also equipped with elevators and ramps for wheelchairs and those with physical disabilities. The beach is white sand with no rocks. The pols are beautiful.The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a large variety of food choices. I plan to return to this resort!!!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Don't hesitate to visit this resort

My husband and I stayed at the Ocean Coral March 20-24. Based on previous reviews, we had high expectations of the resort and its service. Fortunately, we weren't disappointed. We had a terrific four days at the immaculately clean resort and were absolutely blown away by the quality and selection of food at both the buffet and a la carte restaurants. Our room was clean and comfortable and both the beach and the pool were well maintained. Bar service at both was great. In fact, we seldom ever had to leave our loungers to get a drink. The lobby was a great place to relax, have a drink and listen to live entertainment before and after dinner. Our favorite drink, chocolate martinis, were even on the menu. They were delicious and we probably had a few too many :) The only negative was that it was very difficult to find a lounger at both the beach and pool areas. I'm not a fan of the whole towel on the chair thing but it's commonplace and hard to monitor so a practice we've just learned to live with over the years. We would recommend this resort to everyone and would love to return again sometime.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Had a great time. Would definitely go back

Rooms we clean. Food was great and the overall resort was well maintained. Could use a few more bars near the beach. No fight to find a space on the beach. Pool areas were clean and many loung chairs available.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Another Amazing Week at Ocean Blue and Sand Resort

We have just returned from our 11th visit to OB&S. Our trip was booked three days before take-off by the very efficient and friendly Tracy at the Trip Central Dundas office. Everything went perfectly with our Air Transat flight out of Hamilton and we arrived 30 minutes early going both ways. Arriving at the Ocean Blue resort we were greeted with hugs and kisses from the many staff members who remember us from year to year. Our room in Building 10 was kept clean and well stocked and it was not ne [... read more]cessary to ask the maid for anything. Our butler Alfredo made reservations for the Japanese restaurant on the first night and it was excellent as always. Reservations were not needed at the other restaurants because we prefer to eat between 6:00-6:30 and there were never any line-ups at that time. Food was always excellent and beautifully presented. We only used the buffets for breakfast and lunch and it was also very good with a large selection to choose from. We participated in many of the activities at the pool during the day. In the evening we played bingo in the lobby, went to the shows in the theatre and danced to the live music later on. The two enormous pools are fabulous and we were happy to see that work is being done to stop the beach erosion.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great layout & close to beach

This hotel has a great layout for older people. Everything is within close walking distance including the beach. Loved that reservations were not required to dine at the a la carte restaurants. Rooms are huge, with a sitting area. Could improve on activities for when weather is bad, i.e. add a couple of pool tables.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Amazing - our most enjoyable visit to Mexico yet!!

We just returned last week from Ocean Turquesa and it truly is, hands down, the best all-inclusive getaway we've experienced (of 13 resorts we've visited between my partner and I). From our first steps onto the resort, into our room, onto the beach and pool areas, and into the dining areas, we were not disappointed. The resort scored high points with us for: customer service - everyone was so friendly and helpful throughout the resort; dining - we're a tad particular about food quality and all  [... read more]of our meals were delicious, fresh and flavourful. We especially enjoyed the Japanese and Route 66 restaurants. Also, the wood fired pizza at the Villa was truly some of the best pizza we've ever had, let along in Mexico; Mike's Coffee shop - it was so nice to stop in each morning for a latte, cappuccino, coffee, tea and even cold frappuccinos for a change; crepe restaurant - the crepes (savoury or sweet) were so fresh + delicious, we went back several times for lunch during our stay. In addition to thoroughly enjoying all the top-notch amenities and services the resort has to offer, we made new friends; went sailing with said new friends, thanks to the complementary sailing and kayak equipment on the beach; enjoyed a catamaran tour from Cancun, organized from the hotel (beware of the rum punch - it goes down very well!); and enjoyed a beautiful walk down the beach to the sea port town of Puerto Morelos for some shopping and cervezas. The resort also has a really nice area for children compared to other resorts we've seen. It was spacious and colourful, had a nice pool and play area and plenty beach lounge chairs for mum and dad to relax while the kids played. That said, the day we arrived the hotel was sold out but we maybe saw a half-dozen or so children our entire stay there. While I'm sure it's not a standard demographic - especially during Spring Break, we didn't encounter the stereotypical noisy party crowds. There was a lot of generations there and while there was definitely a fun vibe (on Wednesdays there's a super fun foam party in the big pool), great music and no shortage of cervezas from the pool bar! We've never returned to the same resort because we really enjoy experiencing new destinations but we agreed it's not a question of whether we will return, it's a question of when - and in my opinion it wouldn't be soon enough. This was our best stay yet and we look forward to returning with friends in the future. We can't say enough good things about our experience!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Excellent Vacation!

My boyfriend and I booked through tripcentral in early February for our March 1 trip to Ocean Coral & Turquesa in Mexico. It was the best trip that we had been on. Below I have summarized our vacation. Rooms: Our room was on the first floor right by the kids pool. In my opinion, they should not put people without kids in the kids area for obvious reasons but that did not matter to us, being on the ground level was great as the elevator in the building was broken so this was great being on the g [... read more]round floor. We had requested a king bed through our travel agent WEEKS before we went on the trip, and when we arrived we had 2 double beds that both of us could not fit on, so my boyfriend and I slept separate the entire trip which was extremely dissapointing when you leave something in someones hands and you trust them to do something for you and you pay a lot of money to find out this was not taken care of. Our room's air conditioner was broken and we called the front lobby more than 5 times to have this taken care of as the resort that we stayed at was so humid, by the time we left after 7 days all of our clothes were soaked just from the humidity. Other than that, the rooms were fine. Food: The food was no better than Cuba. We went to Cuba last year and I lost probably about 7lbs from not eating, the same hapened at this resort. The buffet changed themes every night which was cool to experience new foods, but the a la cartes no one tells you before you travel that they are EXTREMELY fancy, so we did not bring heels or nice dress shoes- we brought flip flops on our vacation. Pools: We mostly used the party pool because of the swim up bar. The foam party that we had participated in was awesome, it was so much fun to do something like that. The other pool was the "relaxing" pool which had all the fun activities like water volley ball, aqua fit classes and so much more. Each day they walked around with a different animal and you were able to get pictures taken of you and monkeys, parrots, and so much more! It was amazing Beach: I don't think we layed on the beach more than one day. The water was so rough and murky, the sand was nice and white it was beautiful but I am a huge beach person and I was a little disappointing with the water conditions. Entertainment: The entertainment staff was great. There was always something going on, things to do.. the shows that they had every night were awesome. We saw The Lion King, and the Grease show and they were fabulous. They let you take pictures with the cast after the show which was nice too. Excurions: I was a little thrown off by the Transat staff who were supplying the excursions. We had booked a trip into Playa Del Carmen (free transportation) we had expected to be going straight to 5th Avenue to do some shopping. They did not tell us that we were going to be going to a jewellery factory where no one could afford to buy anything and then a tequila factory. Not once did the Transat Rep tell us this. This wasted half our day doing something that we had ZERO interest in doing. I was very dissapointed along with the entire group that we went with. We booked a half day excursion to do a cavern tour, cenote swimming and snorkelling with sea turtles. Again, very dissapointed with Transat's reps because they did not tell us anything about this excursion. When I got to the first cavern that we were exploring, i slipped and fell because i was wearing flip flops. Again, Transat rep did not tell me to wear anything specific. I ended up in the Mexican hopsital and had to get stitches on my foot, and missed the entire day that we EACH paid $75 American dollars for, and Transat refused to give us our money back. All in all, FANTASTIC trip. We have both said that we would return back to the same hotel in a heart beat. WE LOVED THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food, room, beach, service, entertainment all first class. Many choices for dining. Service on the beach was good. All staff well trained and friendly. Attended a couple of the shows - they were very well done. All in all, a very good holiday

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Fantastic Vacation

My 10th beach vacation was my favorite. We picked Ocean Coral & Turquesa after a lot of comparing thinking it would fit exactly what we were looking for, and we were right. The food was amazing, the drinks and service great. Beach, pool and facilities were all beautiful. And the foam party is not to be missed! This is the first time I will absolutely return to a resort, we loved it that much. Highly recommended!

Ocean Maya Royale: Lovely smaller resort with great amenities.

This beautifully landscaped resort provided for all of our needs. Restaurants x5 were great, food delicious with local and North American and European options always available and plentiful. Staff were always friendly and accommodating. The resort is just the right size, we could easily walk comfortably to all amenities. Pools were pristine, never crowded and easy to access. Beach, was very protected, lots of chaise and umbrellas (room for all), well serviced by thebar. Resort based amenities we [... read more]re plentiful:, pool side sports, crafts, water sports, seafood, kayaks and snorkeling, all available on site. Valentin, the resort based off site planner was Very knowledgible for shopping, snorkeling, touring.....all Mayan Experiences, and his recommendations were made with client need, comfort and safety in mind. I loved all of my off site experiences as well, Valentin helped me make choices suitable for my interests, skills and age. Night shows at the resort were energetic, musical, magical and well attended. Although the resort was fully booked when we attended in Match, it never felt that way, we easily could find quiet time, quiet space and a friendly smile.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great resort

Grounds are beautiful. Many choices for dinner. The steak house and Japanese were my favorites. Loved Mike's coffee shop. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beach could use some repair work from storm damage but the sand and water colour were amazing.

Restaurants = to notch, beach = could be a little more clean, wonderful service, real big lobby especially on a rainy day, super entertainment, Location = you are only an hour or less from excursions etc.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great Resort

The resort was well laid out with all buildings forming a U shape around the pools and grounds. Very easy to navigate. The lobby is at the front of the resort with the Ala carte restaurants all located off the lobby. There are two (2) pools back to back. As the room buildings are on either side of the pools it can be quite noisy but not annoying. The food was quite good with the exception of the American Route 66 restaurant which was horrible. There is another lunch buffet at the beach with both inside and outside seating and this also was very good. The beach is almost non existent due to a sever storm several weeks ago. This is out of the control of the resort and unfortunate. There is very little shade at either the pools or the beach. Overall this resort offered good value, was clean, well looked after and comfortable. The service was excellent and staff were all very accommodating. English is widely spoken.

Ocean Maya Royale: Fabulous

Ocean Maya is one of the best resorts we have stayed at. We were a group of 12 (3 families) and we had an amazing vacation. The rooms are very clean & comfortable and very well appointed. The grounds are beautiful, the food delicious, the drinks amazing and the staff incredible. Loved every minute of it !!! If you are looking for a beautiful beach, it's right next door , just walk along the beach to the right, through the next resort and you can walk for miles on a beautiful sandy beach!

Upon arrival to this wonderful facility we were greeted by the marvelous staff who made us feel like we were at home. All hotel grounds are superbly kept and the room service has been fantastic. They provide you with unlimited alcohol for the right price.
