Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Very disappointed with this resort!

My daughter and I was placed in a room the first night that was a DUMP!! (We could not get moved to another room till the second night.)The tap in the shower wouldn't turn off, and it took staff hours to come fix it. The bed looked like it was 40 years old, the mattress was lumpy. The walls were dirty. We woke up to birds trying to get in through a hole at the side of the AC in the window. The facilities were old and dilapidated. Staff were rude and not helpful at all. I won't mention how bad the food was since I'm aware that this is common in Cuba. Don't let the affordable price for this resort sway you. IT'S NOT WORTH IT.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Not our finest trip to Brisas.

We have just returned from a one week stay. (Feb 9 - Feb 16). The hotel is booked pretty much to capacity at this time of year. Since we are returning guests, (12x) we get a villa upgrade. We always request the same villa. This time however, someone else had our regular room booked for a month long stay. So we were given a room a couple doors down. No problem!.. right? Same view, same layout. However.. this room is tired. The a/c barely worked, the ceiling was leaking water due to an overworke [... read more]d a/c unit, and eventually collapsed in the middle of the night, spilling gallons of water all over our things. The staff is great, they tried all week to get things working right. To no avail. On the 5th day they offered another room, but what's the point. We're leaving in 2 days. The bed was broken, had a large hollow spot in the spring mattress. Several other little nit-picky things. Things I could easily tolerate from Club Amigo next door. But when you pay a premium price for a place like Brisas?.. thanks mostly to the typically amazing staff, and resort amenities, for helping to make the most of this trip. Would I go back again? Probably.. but not at this time of year. Far too busy! The airport wait is frustratingly unbelievable! There's a waiting line for everything! Even the buffet! Store item availability is low. Still though.. a great resort. Needs a little bit of upgrading.

Playa Costa Verde: Great resort

We stayed in a standard room in the 1200 block and although the rooms are dated, they are specious and kept very clean. The resort grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. The pools were a little cool but definitely very refreshing after basking in the sun for awhile. Be careful as there are broken tiles in the pool that could cause some scrapes and cuts. The food was good and the hot food station at the buffet always offered up a selection of pasta, meats, fish, pizza, omelettes,  [... read more]salads..... We would definitely not hesitate recommending this place to others.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: 2nd time @ Luna Mares AMAZING

We just came back from Luna Mares and this resort is Beautiful, grounds are amazing , beach is amazing. Hotel is almost completed it's renovations. So much to see in Holguin. I cannot wait to go back in Oct. Just love the place, people and the country.

Playa Costa Verde: Wonderful refuge from a harsh winter

The Playa Costs Verde is a mid-sized all inclusive hotel situated on a white beach of fine sand and lined with Palm trees and Palomas to locate your lounger under. Snorkeling, daily towel changes, shallowwarm ocean swimming and Hobicats are all included...as us food and drink. Away from the beach are several lovely pools and a swim up bar. The staff are friendly, hardworking and deserving of a generous tip if you feel you received excellent service. Being Cuba, the food offerings can wax and wane due to supply issues. If you are a car I vote.. .you're okay. If you are a vegetarian who also eats food.. .also okay.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: SolRio de Luna y Mares, Houlgin, Cuba

More then we expect! Exellent location, friendly staff, fresh food, very first hotel in Cuba ( Sol De Mares ) we felt we are wellcome like a guest! They put guest before tips and get more from us! Paradisus Rio De Oro: Awesome Resort!!

My wife and I recently returned from this 5-star resort! It was our first time to Cuba! I can't say enough about how perfect the 7 days went. Right from the Trip Central Rep-Bev- right through to the flight and coach to the Hotel! The resort lived up to its 5 star rating. The staff were so nice as we found all the Cuban people we met! Food was plentiful, creative and very palatable! Nightly entertainment and grounds were awesome! We will definitely be returning again-hopefully sooner than later.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Loved this resort!

I absolutely loved this resort. The food was great, most staff were friendly and it was a good mixture of age groups. Everything was within walking distance and beach was beautiful. My only two downfalls were that the mattress was so uncomfortable and the staff at the front counter definitely need a better personality. They were not very friendly and when asked a question you recieved one word answers and left to figure it out.

Playa Pesquero: Nice place

Just got back and had a great time. Weather was great. Resort is clean and everyone is very nice, foods pretty good too, resort is very large and a lot of walking . Overall I would recommend this resort

Playa Pesquero: Awesome Resort

Playa Pesquero is a beautiful resort with wonderful staff who aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible. This was our second visit to Playa Pesquero and we had a great time!! The servers in the breakfast bar and any of the restaurants we visited gave outstanding service. The pool service from the pool bar was great!!! There was always someone coming by to make sure our drinks were good. We do feel there are areas that need attention, (the pools and different electrical issues). Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Sol Rio de Luna Y Mares

The grounds are beautifully kept; imaginative laid out and even at night are tastefully lite up. Food is good with lots of variety. Staff is pleasant and friendly. The water ballet and many shows in the theatre and the lobby bar were entertaining although some were quite loud. My major suggestion is to stop the Beach parties at midnight or at the latest 12:30. Very few attend according to my information.

Playa Pesquero: Great resort

Rooms were modest but very clean and provided all necessities. Pool area was gorgeous and so clean- lots of chairs available. Staff are all so friendly and caring and not always looking for a tip. Staff really appreciate a friendly word or gesture and always have a smile on their faces. There was a nice variety of restaurants and food selection. Our weather was sunny every day some rain at night or a 5 minute shower during day time. The beach was beautiful but people complained that chairs were  [... read more]scarce and you had to get there early morning (6:30 -7) to reserve your chairs. Lots of free activities and there are day tours available at extra cost. We had a great week!

Playa Pesquero: Beautiful and welcoming resort.

Beautiful resort and wonderful staff. Great food and very clean amenities. 2nd visit in 11 years. Many upgrades over that time. Lot of same staff. Trip central staff were very helpful and accessible from day one. Thank you Ailsa Walker!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Disappointed

We booked a last minute much needed get away and found this was a great place to unwind. We found the beach was good for us and the pool area was very nice as well. Lots of walking which we enjoy but if you don't like to walk.... you will wait a long time for a ride to come along. We found many inconsistencies in service, staff attitudes and food. I don't think all the staff are happy to be working here. Some days the staff were friendly and provided good service and other days not so much. [... read more] The food was tolerable. The Al la carte restaurants may not have food any better than the buffet but it was nice to sit and be served a hot meal and beverage. Our tip/ warning to you is make sure you get your towel service every day. We are passive people and so on the last day when we did not get our towels replaced ( they took the used ones away but did replace one of the bath towels) we made do with what we had. Big Mistake. When we checked out, it was reported there was one bath towel missing so they accused us of taking it and we were charged for it. When we let them know we did not receive the replacement they said they would call house keeping to check. Housekeeping of course told them the towel was brought to our room, so that was that. They refused to check our luggage to confirm we did not have it and we had to pay. I don't mind helping out the residents of Cuba but I don't like them stealing from me. We will not be back.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Fantastic resort

Hotel was great rooms were great beach was great food was fantastic lots of stairs wait staff were horrible front desk staff were useless bus boys were superior well two yasmel and the really big guy. A few changes and this place could be a 5 star in Cuba

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Perfect....Almost...

Stunning site, layout of grounds with generous views of the ocean, excellent landscaping and planting, lovely rooms and fabulous lobby with the lush water garden theme. Lovely staff throughout. But...the food and bar quality didn't match. We've stayed in other 3-to-5 star resorts, and I'd put this food and bar quality in the lower of that range. We tried the Royal Service one night and it hit the mark as promised. The spa was great, a gorgeous oasis in a really lovely setting. Sol Turquesa Beach: Great TIme with Family

Enjoyed the resort - great pools and entertainment. Clean rooms with good water pressure and hot water. Friendly staff. Food improved since we were last there a year ago and is quite fine although as with most Cuban resorts it could be improved. The only thing that was upsetting was at 5:30 every day a truck with insecticides drove around fogging. We had no warning of this and were concerned about exposure especially for kids.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Will be back!!

Everything you would expect from a resort in Cuba. Good food, typical room. Lots to see and do here. Great coffee. Get out and see Cuba while you are here. Lots of pools, bars and restaurants. A la carts are great.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Met expectations

The resort as advertised, a 3 star. Food was ok. Grounds were ok. Disappointments were, hard bed, felt like sleeping on a box spring. Nothing stocked in the fridge like water. Had to pay for the safe. No iron. But I guesss that’s why it is a 3 star.

Playa Costa Verde: Cuban Resort

The resort and food were exceptional BUT we didn't go to the beach, it had been hit by the hurricane and didn't look inviting plus you had to walk over a bridge of stagnant smelly water (they said it was a conservation pond) so we stayed close to the pool. Overall it was nice, relaxing and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Night life was not to our liking.
