All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: Small Family Resort
The good part :
This is a resort for family with mostly small kids. Organized intertaiment was good during the day time and in the evening. Total nice surprise was a dinner and a show at the theater. Was awesome experience for us.
Nicely decorated, food was beyond any expectation. ..
And SHOW !!
Mikel Jackson with a new modern twist. We really enjoyed that evening.
I would like to say a special Thanks to the crew. .
Some negative points :
The beach is not good at aĺl to enjoy. .
Seaw[... read more]eed is everywhere and the water is not clear at all within 15 m around the beach. ..
One morning I found big dead fish head 100 m away from our main beach entrance.
We spent all our time in the pool.
And I really really wanted to swim in the ocean. ..
O, well.
Services of every single person at the resort was
SUPER GREAT !!!

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Not Bad but just OK!!!
just got back from Crown Paradise Club in Cancun. Just want to start off by saying the property is nice but just ok. It is basically a hotel on a nice beach and if you know that going in then you will enjoy your stay. I am used to staying at 4.5 to 5 star resorts and this it was not. That being said no one went hungray, no one got sick, and everyone (group of 12 ages from 10 to 50) had a good time. Hotel is a little dated but nice and clean. Only critizm is that they could use more bar staff. Th[... read more]e waits at bars for drinks were long. Overall not bad place had a good time but I personally prefer resort style properties.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Amazing resort - 5 star all the way!
We just came back from a week in heaven at this resort. The rooms are very spacious and modernly decorated, a fridge full if beer , juices and 4 bottles of liquor, daybed on your balcony to relax after a day in the sun and turndown service every night. The food and drinks are top notch. Best thing is no advanced reservations required except for tapanaki hibatchi. The staff are incredibly friendly and take pride in providing nothing but top quality customer service . Multiple times did we hav[... read more]e staff and managers ask us if there was anything more they could do for us . I requested a different pillow and had it that day. We had one issue with noise keeping us awake and the concierge addressed it immediately and the following day they gave us a free couples massage for our inconvenience . Wow! We've been to this resort 3 times and will definitely go back again!

Oh Cancun The Urban Oasis: OH!...NO!...bring ear plugs and ear muffs or go deaf
This is by far the noisiest hotel i have ever stayed at. i stayed from jan 26 to feb 2, 2017
Traffic:
the hotel is situated near the busiest intersection of central cancun that connects three major arterial roads. there is a constant roar of mufferless heavy trucks, buses, taxis, motorcycles...etc. there are 8 lanes of traffic directly in front of the hotel and not just passing by, but the stop and go of accelerating and then squealing brakes. traffic starts early in the morning and continue[... read more]s on to 20:00hrs plus at night. if you have a street facing room...you're toast.
The crazy hot coyote disco/sports bar/night club:
loud thumping music starts early in the evening and goes on to 23:00hrs. the bar was mostly empty the week that i was there, so they must be losing money on that venue. if you have a room near the club, be prepared to be lifted out of bed by the trumping beat. this is a basic problem if you're staying at the OH section. avoid room 25 (just beside and above the bar and facing the street), because if you get that room...you're a goner...as in gone crazy without rest...i guess that's were the name "crazy" coyote comes from.
The pool side Rave music.
i was first placed in room 25 and spent the first night there and immediately asked for a change the next day. staff was attentive and moved me to the "quiet side" facing the pool...but not so quiet. I was at first relieved to be away from the traffic and the crazy bar when moved to room 47. the morning was like an oasis of tranquility because the building and trees act like a sound barrier and the traffic becomes an acceptable dull roar, but that afternoon it all changed due to the boom boom music of the pool stage.
starting around 13:00 the racket didn't stop until 22:00...boom boom boom boom...all day long and all week long. not that there was anyone listening to the noise. the clientele was mostly older people and no one was dancing...except the two juniors who were making all the noise. it was so noisy that i would not eat at the pool side restaurants and i abandoned the hotel during the day to seek refuge at one of the sister hotels. requests to stop or lower the volume fell on deaf ears...maybe deaf because of the boom boom music.
who ever hear of a disco tech/rave in the middle of an oasis? well you have now and if you want to experience that, book a week here...you're guaranteed to regret it.
The rattling A/C unit:
think you can lessen the boom boom music noise by closing the patio doors? no solution there. the room will heat up quickly because of the noon day sun facing the pool side of the building. the a/c unit's bearings are worn out. the racket coming from that unit will wake the dead. and if you don't turn it on you're going to cook. that's where the "hot" part of crazy hot coyote comes from.
this was not just a issue with rooms 47 and 25 but there were workers changing/fixing the a/c units at other rooms as well. if you try to enjoy some fresh air by opening the balcony door...boom boom boom is in your room.
another issue with the a/c unit is that the water exhaust makes the balcony wet the whole time. on room 47 the water was left to flow across the balcony to the drain on the other end of the balcony, while on room 25 they tried to do something about it and there is a plastic pipe across the middle of the balcony directing the water to the drain at the opposite end. be careful not to trip.
Not all bad:
If you can handle all of that. then by all means you'll have a good holiday because the rooms themselves are modern and tastefully done. the bedding was terrific. maid service was excellent, with a nightly turn down service and little chocolates left by the staff. the decor around the hotel is zen like and inviting. the pool area is beautiful and the night lighting is very romantic. the breakfast buffet was more than acceptable and service is great. (accept getting a good tea, which is a mexico problem, so bring your own tea bags)
there's lots of security guards all over the hotel, so there no worries there. the staff is very helpful (as are all mexicans). the central location is marvelous, close to buses, shopping centers, food markets, hospitals...exploring cancun was a real adventure. i loved it.
Restaurants:
restaurants are everywhere, with all types of food, and lots close to the hotel. eating with the mexicians is almost free because of the low cost. i like mexican food, so eating at a cantina was normal. there are no skinny mexicans and i take from that the food is all good, so there's no reason for you to be hungry. if you wish to have a change in diet then there is every kind of american fast food type you can imagine.
Transportation:
public buses were 11 pesos and run late into the night. taxis will first give you gringo pricing, which mean you need to negotiate. walmart from the hotel was 30 peso, but the driver started out at 50...maybe 30 was too much. of course it's healthier to walk, but look out for the sidewalk and their broken pavement. this is caused mostly by tree roots up heaving the cement rather than age caused disrepair.
the beach bus:
the beach shuttle takes about 30 minutes and there are two choices to go to, both sister omni hotels. i found the oasis cancun the better of the two hotels. i've stayed there three times before so i knew my way around. leaving the downtown oasis at 10:30 and 12:00 and returning at 16:00, 17:30 and 18:00.
the bottom line is:
COME ON OASIS...you can do better than that! oasis has the right employee team, a good building, a central location but management has cancelled all the positives by creating the noise problems. instead of dealing with the road noise, management has added to the problem. close the crazy hot coyote, no one is coming there anyway. get rid of the pool DJ and the boom boom music and put on a nature music CD, you'll save money on the DJs.
I spoke to numerous managers during my stay, all to no avail. i like the oasis hotel chain, but at the OH they have a hotel that gives them a bad name. if nothing is done this hotel is headed for bankruptcy and you'll all be out of a job. too bad for the hard working employees because it's not their fault.
i would not return unless the noise issues are addressed and i can not recommend this hotel.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Disappointed!
The resort was very noisy and busy! Al a cart restaurants were not great at all. Buffet was average! Long line ups for drinks at the bar by the beach, only one bartender there. Elevators were extemely slow. Wifi service was spotty at best. Beach was nice, but again very busy and loud! If you are looking for a quiet vacation this is not the resort to go to. Would not recommend!

Occidental Costa Cancun: great resort!
The resort was smaller than we normally go to but ended up being a plus. There was no waiting for drinks, no holding lounge chairs, no line ups for omelets or fajitas. It was clean, friendly staff, fun entertainment, no language barriers. Very pleasantly surprised and would go again tomorrow.

Finest Playa Mujeres by Excellence Group: Great for families
We were traveling on our first international trip with our 7mo old baby. This hotel was perfect for that! There was a heated kids pool, and the ocean waves weren't so crazy that we could go in with baby. The hotel grounds were nice and modern. The staff was amazing. The only drawback for me personally is that you can't see the ocean from many areas of the resort (pretty much all areas except the beach itself or the beach restaurant). We got a swim up room which was ideal with a baby since he cou[... read more]ld nap inside while we enjoyed the sun with our baby monitor.

Grand Oasis Sens: Grand Oasis Sens
This is a beautiful hotel but needs improvements every where. It is a little dated. They were working on improvements while we were there. This hotel is lacking staff. The staff that was there were very accomadating and very friendly. The food was awesome but had great difficulty booking for the specialty restaurants.
If you are disabled in any way, this is not the hotel for you. Too many stairs.
We had a few issues with our room but was fixed immediately. I would highly recommend the o[... read more]cean view from floor 6 and up.
If you are looking for a good deal, this is a good place for the buck. I would rate it 3.75-4 star.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Good
Let me start by saying that you will be little bit disappointed at first but once you have explored the resort you will like it. We with two couples spent one week of holidays from 18 Jan to 25th, rooms are little worn out and old, long lineup at the buffet, this can be solved by just putting one more staff for omelette in the mornings, now the good news, love the beach, pools, food, entertainment, gerdens, guest of all ages, lots of young people, go with positive attitude, you will like it for [... read more]what we paid.

The Bel Air: Not what you expect
We knew this was a quieter resort, but almost too quiet. No entertainment is offered, snack shack does not exist. You order at the pool bar food, and it is brought to you anywhere from half hou to one hour later. The hotel is clean, but towels are in short supply.

Live Aqua Cancun: Satisfaction Guaranteed
The resort is well located on the Cancun hotel strip. Approximately one half hour from the airport and within a short walking distance to two large malls. Nightly entertainment both on and nearby the resort is quite inviting. The grounds are well maintained and the rooms are bright and very clean. The variety of food in the buffet restaurant and the a la carte restaurants will please. No long line ups or reservations required as in larger resorts. The service and politeness of the Mexican[... read more] staff is outstanding. And yes let us not forget the white sandy beach and warm waters of the Caribbean sea to entice one into complete relaxation mode.

Grand Oasis Sens: Definately won't be going back to this property - bad customer service
We paid for an full ocean view, but the room they gave us was in corner with barely an ocean view, Washroom was dirty so we went back to ask for what we paid for, were told they didn't haven any rooms fully sold out. to come back next day at 10am and told us not to unpack. Went back at 10 am, told us to come back at 3:30, at which time they told us they were completely booked and either take the room or go to their sister property but no guarantee they would have ocean view. After spending most [... read more]of the day trying to get what we paid for we were finally given a room with a full ocean view, when we went up there were people in that room. Came back down and waited another 2 hours for them to find us something as our old room was now given away and we had no where to stay. We wasted a 1 1/2 days of our vacation sorting this mess out. at the end they had no choice but to give us one of their suites that had its own full walk out patio and pool. But what a hassle. Very bad customer service during check in and check out. The front desk could not make change, always told us to come back at 3pm and when we did the answer was always NO come back tomorrow at 3. We won't be going back to this property again. Buffet always had lineups even when it was not full, the 2 restaurants where you had to make reservations were full for over a week so the food choices were repetative and few.
There were about 5 other couples that we ran into that had some kind of issue with their room (ceiling was leaking from above floor, washrooms were dirty, assigned rooms that weren't cleaned or had been assigned to someone else, keys wouldn't work) just a mess. The staff at the front desk were very rude and not helpful, but all other staff were very pleasant. The propery grounds were well kept, good choice of entertaintment but limited choice for food, 2 of the restaurants were booked solid with no openings for a full week while one was closed all the time even though the sign said open at 7pm. Buffet lineups almost everyday at breakfast, lunch and dinner even though there were many empty tables, service was slow in the buffet. No a good experience and would not recommend to anyone.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Not a 4 Star
The rooms were basic, the pools were nice. However the food was very poor. The buffet was always the same and not that great. the house red wine was undrinkable. The restaurants were disappointing - the food was often served cold or undercooked. We were also required to make reservations for the restaurants and we needed to call 2 or 3 days in advance to get a reservation earlier than 9pm. However, every time we ate in these restaurants they were more than half empty.
The adult pool bar only [... read more]had one bartender so it was usually along wait for drinks.
It did seem like it would be a good resort for kids as there were lots of kids activities.
I would rate this a 3 / 3.5 star. I will not stay here again.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Disappointment
When we got there we had to wait in line to check it. There were only 4 groups ahead of us and check in took 1 hour. Another line up in the morning for breakfast for about 20 minutes. No variety to the food. same at each breakfast and supper buffet. You can not book the ala carte restaurants. More lineups. Secrets Playa Mujeres: Glorious Get-Away
We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at the Secrets Playa Mujeres resort. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are spotless and the service was outstanding. The food was scrumptious although we were disappointed in the Seaside Grill which wasn't as formal for dinner as we were expecting - many quests were dressed up only to be sat beside guys in bathing suits and baseball caps. Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Very Family Friendly
Great layout, with most rooms facing ocean. Generally not too hard to find a chair, if you aren't picky about its location relative to pool. Italian a la carte was our fave, with well made pasta dishes (better than buffet). Mexican at the buffet was same if not better than restaurant version, where fajita meat was dry. French resto duck dish was amazing, but adults only. Loved how they did not overbook the a la cartes so you could take your time (we assume this was why). Desserts were good a[... read more]ll around, especially ice cream quality. Coffee was a bit disappointing compared to other resorts we've tried in the region. Not the newest resort, but upkeep is good given its age. Service was usually very good, barring breakfast buffet where it is seat yourself and staff stuggle to keep up with the whole resort eating in one place (not their fault). I'd highly recommend this to a friend with kids - look for their 1/2 price deal for children. We traveled as a couple and paid more than my in-laws family of 4!

Moon Palace Cancun: Another wonderful week at Moon Palace!
This was my 4th time at Moon Palace and again it did not disappoint. A smooth flight, transportation to resort and check in. We did not like our initial room placement and they moved us right at check in. As we had been here before, we knew where we wanted to stay!
Although there is construction occurring, we did not mind as we knew the balcony size was better in that section (Grand) than at Nizuc. We bypass any "tour" or "credit access" as we know it is a hard sell for time shares. A polite no[... read more] and we were in our room. Though not really a beach resort, the beach is fine and long to walk. It is the ocean that is not great. Murky waters due to the coral reef. But a pool resort is surely is. Every type from loud and busy to quiet and relaxing. Something for everyone.
Great food, top shelf liquor and service was fantastic. They really do go our of their way to make sure you are happy. Sad to have left Moon Palace again this year. Two thumbs up trip for us!
