Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Ok resort

When we arrived at the hotel we did not have an assigned room. After waiting 45 minutes we went to the front desk and got a room on the 6th floor that was joined with another room. The room was clean but not kept up very well. First night, at 3am I had to go to the front desk because the people in the room next to us had the tv on so loud that we couldn’t sleep. The front desk did not do anything about it. At 4am my husband went and finally the front desk called the room to turn the tv off. In [... read more] the morning we requested a room change and they told us that it would be ready at 2:30-3:00pm. So at 3pm we went and were informed that the room is not ready yet. After a few trips to the front desk, around 6pm, finally got a different room on the second floor. I should mentioned that this was a family vacation and we were traveling with our 11 month daughter and a full size stroller. When we were trying to move all our stuff to the room, we realized that the second floor does not have elevator access. So now few times a day we had to carry the stroller up and down a flight of stairs (not really An ideal situation when you’re on vacation). I thought that this was very inconsiderate of the hotel. Our new room had no blowdryer, bathrobes or scale which the hotel advertises is included in every room. We also had to ask for towels as our room was not cleaned when we returned to put our daughter for an afternoon nap. The beach is small but nice. We were able to find an umbrella for the most part. The pools were nice too. They have an adult infinity pool, family pool and a splash park. There were only few umbrellas in the pool area and were always reserved with towels which was really ennoying! I think the family pool should have more umbrellas to provide shade for the kids. Overall the food was good. The steakhouse was the best, followed by the buffet restaurant. We tried the Italian restaurant for lunch but we found the food to be too salty. Opa, which is the Mediterranean restaurant has pretty good food as well. The Mexican was ok but we waited a very long time to get our food. I really enjoyed the entertainment. There were a lot of activities offered during the day and the evening showed were amazing! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall I would rather pay a little extra and stay at Blue Waters which is next to white sand and is a newer resort with access to both resorts.

Hedonism II: Terrific resort... Everytime!

Everything here was top notch..food was very good with a great variety. Rooms were updated and very clean. The grounds were lucious and beautiful. The beaches were groomed and very nice. The entertainment crew was excellent. In all a positive experience.

Fun Holiday Beach Resort: Good Time

The hotel was a nice resort but not as much people as I would of thought. The first night my room smelled absolutely toxic of mildew, but staff worked on things quick and moved me out the next day. The food was great and staff were amazing. The only part that sucks is how much the locals bother you when your out on the beach! Overall I had a great stay and would recommend this place to others. Hedonism II: Very good value

Everything was very good to excellent. We are gym goers and this is the best I’ve been to in the Caribbean. Staff are all very attentive. Good variety of foods and restaurants. Beach was very welll maintained

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Would recommend

Just returned from one week at the Grand Palladium Jamaica. Nice, Large resort but lots of walking as shuttles were not regular. Food was great, lots of selection. No problem getting into a la carte restaurants which were also good. Great selection of booze! Room had some issues but nothing major (screen door broken, card lock battery died , etc). Pools were clean, bathrooms well looked after and always clean. Overall would recommend.

Riu Negril: Riu Negril

This hotel is a great family hotel. The animation team is the best I’ve experienced out of any country. They go out of their way to encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and enjoy your trip. Everything in the property is close together with very few stairs, so it is great for people in wheel chairs or those who are mobility challenged.

Sunscape Splash: Sunscape Splash Montigo Bay

My husband and l had a fantastic time at this resort and the staff were wonderful. It was the first time being able to swim in the sea as the water was calm and perfect for young and old alike. Friendly Jamaica......I'd go back in a flash! Joanne Ontario, Cda.

Riu Negril: I came, I saw

The resort is small and provides easy access to all amenities such as the beach and restaurants. Unfortunately, the beach was overrun with sandflies, but still didn't prevent us from laying out all day.The nightly entertainment was a little lacklustre and left something to be desired, like fun. Showtime was over most nights by 10pm. The resort was more inclined to families and older couples, which didn't suit our age group. The staff is courteous and helpful. Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Great resort

Great selection of food in buffet including salad bar, seafood and cheeses. Wide selection of cooked foods from North American to Jamaican dishes although not always hot enough. Can’t say enough about the staff...very attentive and always a greeting and a smile. Close to airport which is a plus for me. Always plenty of seating by pool and beach although beach had many locals trying to sell their wares. Bartenders worked their butts off but always with a smile. Biggest complaint is that I only  [... read more]got 1 hot shower my whole stay. Always a pet peeve for me. Overall, I would return to this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great time

Clean grounds, well kept, always workers around keeping it nice. Good food. El a cartes could’ve been bigger portions. Never had bananas at the bars for smoothie type drinks but overall good resort for a good price.

Zoetry Montego Bay: intimate resort

Zoetry Montego Bay is a beautiful small boutique resort. The accommodations are beautiful and clean and the food was Delicious. It is quiet especially in the evening which may not suit everybody, especially if you are looking for evening entertainment. It is close to the airport which is good as you have a very short drive and bad because the planes can be heard overhead. The beach is small but well kept. Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Good experience last time, terrible experience this time!

Last time we went in Sept2018 was awesome, this time in Dec2018 was terrible. Extremely long wait times for carts like 30 minutes and over an hour for food after ordering. Poor food and cold. Not enough beach chairs, room leaked 3x and was forced to move rooms on the second last night. When we were moved they tried putting us from the 5th floor to the 2nd, after arguing they kept us on 5th floor and moved us to the pool side which was pretty but very loud. poor customer service. People from gran [... read more]d side coming to luxury for food and the pools. Not enough utensils for food on the beach. Doesn’t seem to be much of a difference between grand and luxury side after seeing both sides. Will give them one last chance but hoping it goes a lot better.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Can only tell you the truth of our experience

Just came back from vacationing at Holiday Inn in Montego Bay. The best thing of our stay was the Jamaican people as they were the nicest I have ever experienced. The evening entertainment was phenomenal. The hotel room was very nice, clean and all in working order. Hotel grounds are extremely well manicured. Food was average but always hot. Unfortunately, the beach is shallow as markers allow one to go out only at above knee height. My favourite bartender was Kevin. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation for the price we paid and for the memories we will cherish forever.

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Nice vacation spot!

We spent one week here and loved it. My only complaint is that the room was a little rundown. When we arrived there was a stain on the carpet in the bedroom and the room could have used a deep clean. Otherwise a nice vacation.

Sunscape Splash: Great week at Sunplash

I have never been to Jamaica and booked at the Sunscape Splash. From booking the West Jet Vacation via Trip Central to departure, everything was perfect. I am a single person, traveling on my own and found many other travelers to share my week with. The resort is super clean, the staff are exceptional; friendly - everyone was so welcoming! I thoroughly enjoyed my week. I did an excursion to Dunn's River Falls - was a bit rush and spent alot of time on the bus getting there - however; had a blast at the falls! The only thing that I missed was having live music in the lounge - many places I have traveled provide nightly entertainment in the lounge; I found I missed this. There were shows in the theatre area - I went twice to see the entertainment. There an inside disco, however being in Jamaica I wanted to be outside in the fresh air. Direct flight from Ottawa and 20 minutes at most to airport! Again, a great week, Hats off to the Staff of the Sunscape

Royalton Blue Waters: Amazing resort!

My wife and I in our mid 30’s enjoyed the week stay early December. The hotel was about 80% full mainly mixed with young families and established couples. There weren’t too many couples of our age.It never felt that busy. Kids were never an issue for us but we also mostly hung out at the beach. (Locals could become annoying as they constantly try to sell you stuff but security is around at all times so that was appreciated). Drinks were offered constantly and we rarely were without. All the amenities of Royalton White Sands can be used and visitors of WhiteSands aren’t allowed to go on the Blue waters side but in reality that still happens. Overall we were glad that we chose blue waters over white sands as the rooms and views were fantastic and the beach chairs were more comfortable. We had No issues with hot water. On our last day the power went off briefly but the resort has a backup generator to prevent long outages. The restaurants and entertainment are all shared and were fantastic. No reservations needed except for the Japanese. The best part of our stay probably was the entertainment. We had been to Jewel Dunn’s river twice before and that was nothing compared to this. The overall kindness of the workers I must say lacked significantly compared to our previous stay 4 years ago at the Jewel. Half of the people just didn’t make an effort to make you feel welcomed which was really one of the main reasons we like Jamaica so much. One note about the room is that even though you can control the AC fine and it has a ceiling fan as well, the humidity never seemed to leave the room and clothes or towels would not dry. Sheets and paper would even feel sticky. It wasn’t a big concern for our stay and overall I most likely would return again.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Overall Great!

Resort Grounds: this resort is a bit older but has been renovated and is very well kept. Pool is huge and a nice kids water park Rooms: nicely updated, we had a one bdrm suite Service: overall good. However I asked for a crib before travelling there. It was not in the room upon arrival and had to wait till 10pm for a crib and bedding for the pull out for our kids. This was unacceptable after a long travel day with small children that need to sleep

Riu Montego Bay: Fantastic Resort

We enjoyed everything about the resort. Food was great with lots of variety; lots of daily activities and nightly entertainment. Staff was friendly and service fantastic. Would definitely recommend Riu Montego Bay. This was our 2nd visit to this resort. Had a fabulous time.

Secrets Wild Orchid: Nice but not a 4.5 resort!

If you like a beach MoBay is not the place to go. These beaches tend to be man made due to the northern exposure to the winds. I had heard really nice things about the secrets resorts but I wasn't overly impressed with this one. I guess that what happens when you have traveled a fair amount around the Caribbean and have experienced all sorts of high end "all inclusive" resorts. If you get a last minute deal like we did go for it but had we paid some of the prices we saw online I would not hav [... read more]e been happy.

Dreams Rose Hall: Hilton never disappoints!

Another amazing stay at the Hilton Rose Hall! We travelled with 2 other families and they were very accommodating with ensuring we had rooms next to each other. All the staff were incredible and the kids LOVED the kids club. They had so much fun there we had to convince them to leave. It would be great to have options for kids in the evening so parents can have some time but overall great programming. Food was amazing, lazy river and pools were wonderful.
