Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Cuba 3*
Had a great vacation, for the money its good value. But you are getting what you pay for. The beach is the highlight and the entertainment is good, but everything else is sub par. The rooms were all outdated and had multiple issues. The food was hit and miss as stuff like cheese was available some days and not available others. The A la carts are very hit and miss and usually worse than the buffet. Drinks are good but multiple times the keg ran out and cans of Mayabe were poured into small plast [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: A little disappointed
Our first impression was not great. We arrived at the hotel and got moved to a room, where a young man who did not speak English very well tried to explain to us why we were there and give us some important information. They asked for our passports which they then took and proceeded out the door, a few followed them of course as we were not use to letting our passports out of our sight. We did get booked in and baggage was placed into each of our rooms. A few of us were hungry so went looking fo [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: poorly managed facilities
This resort was quite below my expectations considering that is operated by such a reputable chain " Melia Hotels" lots of attitude from staff and poorly managed, specially the food & beverage department.
Melia Internacional: Impressive resort
Brand new resort which actually matches the pictures you see advertised online and the high star rating. New, shiny, quality built and so super clean. It is still not quite complete (in some sections) as it recently opened. Once it gets there it will be quite impressive. I am looking forward to the fully completed facility.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Wonderful Vacation
My daughter and I had a great time at this resort. The weather was great, beach is beautiful and the staff was friendly. The food got a bit boring after a few days but there is lots of options. I definitely recommend the Japanese restaurant.. best meal of the week. We met some wonderful friends and will definitely return to Cuba again.
Memories Cayo Largo: Great resort
What we expected of a 3.5 star hotel. Clean rooms. We had the upgraded superior room with ocean view, private balcony at the end of the resort. We had to visit guest services as the bottle of rum on arrival was not in the room and the mini bar was not stocked as advertised. For the second week, had to visit again for our a la carte restaurant invitations. Food was good. Lobster dinners exceptional. Beach had lots of seaweed washed up and some erosion. Staff very friendly, would do anything for u [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Lovely property
Enjoyed our stay. Great beach. Food was good. And rooms were clean. Only negative was the mosquitoes at night. Could not sit outside for long. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Preferred the buffet to the a la carte. Great breakfast.
Melia Marina Varadero: Great Value
Rooms were clean. Staff was attentive. Walk to beach is about 5 minutes and golf carts go by periodically if you don’t feel up to the walk. No shade at the pool, only 4 Bali Beds available and pergolas with partial shade. Palapas only available at the beach. Entertainment was good. Food was sub par but we always found something. Great value and I would return to this resort.
Melia Las Dunas: Great Family Vacation !
Travel dates: April 18-23, 2019 Ages of Travelers: 82,52,21,18,16 Family vacation was great ! The beach is one of the most beautiful powdery white sand beaches we have been too, pools are large and clean. Resort is large so we were able to get on average 6 km of walking in each day walking to and from our room to the beach, restaurants and lobby. Food was good by Cuba standards and we enjoyed the Oriental and Pizza A la Carte the most. Our room was large with a larger than normal balcony, ba [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: very nice
We loved the hotel, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and spacious. We enjoyed a sailboat ride and a trip to Lenny"s for lobster and shrimp. The Japanese restaurant just off the resort was excellant.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort
We had a wonderful two week vacation at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria.Perfect room location and size, short distance to beach, buffet and pools. All of the staff( can’t name them all) work very hard to meet everyone’s needs. They all have lovely smiles while working so hard and deserve a lot of credit for giving us a great vacation. The Tex Mex and Japanese restaurants were good, and the buffet was sufficient. The beach grill and 24 hour snack were our favourite spots to eat .Our room was large and [... read more]
Hotel Camino del Mar: Very nice resort
The resort is amazing. The grounds are very well taken care of. Our room was very clean and lovely. We had a beautiful view of the pool and the ocean. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was great. The food was plenty and excellent. We have no complaints what so ever. We will return without hesitation. Great holiday.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Believe the negative reviews
We would only recomend the beach that by the way was the best we have ever seen, just unreal nice looking!!!The room was clean ! The staff looked overworked but friendly! Just read all the negative reviews, that how it is! The only reason we did not move to another hotel was the beach and the fact that the room was nice and clean and we were only there for 5 days! PS pools are not clean, buffet is not clean, beach restaurant had constant smell , food is not labeled at all!
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful Beach
The resort is getting a little dated, some tiles in the pool are off etc. but its clean and well cared for. They seemed to have a shortage of towels when we were there, but we did get some eventually. The service is wonderful. The beach is the nicest beach I have ever been at, the water is aqua and seemed to be calm all the time. The entertainment is very good and there is something different going on every night. The restaurants have good choices. we especially enjoyed the Japanese restaurant. [... read more]
Melia Buenavista: Wonderful resort
Great location, amazing beaches, great snorkelling (even for beginners), very helpful and friendly staff, very clean, beautiful and spacious suites. It is a smaller resort and offers a very relaxing atmosphere which was perfect for what I was looking for. You have access to the facilities and restaurants at the sister hotels for additional activities and restaurants.
Melia Las Dunas: Great resort!
This was our 3rd time to Melia Las Dunas. First the positive: the beach is the best! It is kept very clean and the water is so warm! Our maid for the week was a sweet young lady who kept our room spotless. Compliments to ALL the staff, from front desk to restaurant/buffet/bar to gardeners, cleaners and also the bus driver to and from airport. The Air Transat reps/guides were great! We spent most of our time on the beach. We really enjoyed the lobby bar entertainment in early evening. Res [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Loved it!
This is the resort you want to come back to!!!!!! My husband and I enjoyed our staying very much. We stayed in room # 1350 from April 12 to April 19th. Beach was amazing!!! Entertainment team worked very hard, we had 3 classes on the beach every morning!!! Service was great, including room cleaning, dining, reception area. Food was not a disappointment, it's simple but very tasty and there were many options... We thank all wonderful people who work at the resort and make it so beautiful [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great resort at an amazing location
Hotel was nice, rooms were nice clean, bathroom was very nice with double shower. The air conditioner in the room had a weird smell after about 4 days. The grounds were clean and well kept. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The buffet was good, specially after a couple days when you know what you like. Certain items could be stocked up faster during the buffet times. Getting a outside table for 6 every meal was sometimes a challenge but we always found something. 24 hour snack bar was always nic [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: OK resort, but Not a 4 star
Excellent pool and beach. Nice layout, clean site and friendly staff. Our room smelled like sewage anytime we turned on the air conditioning. A la cart dinners were great, buffet was much the same thing everyday. The BBQ was terrible. Beds are very hard the mattress felt like sleeping on a plastic crib mattress and pillows are flat. We had lots of fun, but not likely to go back.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: wonderful experience
really worth it. we be chilling at the beach drinking piña coladas one minute and the next minute we be at the pool bar drinking mojitos. really fun resort with excellent employees and outstanding service. trip to havana was a lifetime experience you should definitely do that.
