Valentin Perla Blanca: So disappointed!

We stayed a week at this resort based on their pictures on the internet and were quite surprised at how worn out it was compared to what we saw. We have been to Cuba before and knew they’re would be issues but we didn’t expect it to be so bad at this resort. All stalls at the pool would be out of toilet paper by noon and that was it until the next day.. hand dryers didn’t work and no towels to wipe your hands. The washroom closest to the buffet was always out of toilet paper, rooms had bro [... read more]ken toilet seats or toilets that didn’t flush, lights were burnt out in the rooms , no coffee makers in a lot of rooms, never had anywhere to exchange our beach towels for the whole week.The sand fleas were bad so getting a fresh towel would have been so helpful. Also, bedding wasn’t changed whether you were there for one or two weeks, they often ran out of red wine, gin, sprite and ice. This is a very large resort and most of the lights along the walkway were burnt out so if you didn’t have a flashlight you could very easily trip in the darkness. Very dangerous. The buffet?? We are not picky eaters at all but we had a hard time finding anything that tasted good. Not all the cooking stations were operating so the line up for omelettes or cooked meat at night was always an hour wait. No pasta, bananas, oatmeal, out of bread many times, too many mixed mystery salads. We tried to eat at the snack bar which only served sandwiches or burgers but they were always out of bread or buns so you just got the patty.. sometimes no fries either. The beach was one of the most beautiful we have ever seen and thoroughly enjoyed looking out at that beautiful water. No bathroom at the beach which is inconvenient. We had hot weather and a beautiful beach but that’s the only two things we could take away from this vacation. We will never return to this resort and would not recommend it to anyone.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Third time's a charm!

Just returned from our third visit to Iberostar Ensenachos. Two week stay from Jan 10 through Jan 24. Had a wonderful time, as always. The resort grounds are beautiful & lush, and have recovered beautifully since hurricane Irma. Food selection was plentiful & varied; as with all buffets, quality could vary, but there was always plenty to choose from & some delicious dishes and desserts were always available. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and already making tentative plans to return later this year!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Another great stay at this resort!

This was our 8th visit to this resort and again we were extremely satisfied. The service, the food, the staff, everything was as we expected. We often hear people say they are pleasantly surprised at how much they enjoyed their stay here.

Valentin Perla Blanca: wonderful resort

Enjoyed everything from grounds to food to beach to staff, I hope to come back next year. The weather was nice and hot. We met people from other parts of Canada. The restaurants had a nice variety. The staff was very accommodating.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Great resort for the price!

Modern, very clean with an amazing beach! Food is not bad, you will always find something to eat. Hotel stuff are great and always smiling. Rooms are cleaned daily. They are very generous on alcohol lol We do recomend this resort!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Not as good as last year.

I was disappointed compared to last year. Grounds are still very well maintained and gardens are beautiful. The beach and ocean are most amazing and enjoyed those very much. Problem was the beach bar-b-que only opened 3 times in the 2 weeks we spent there so had to go to the buffet or pool snack bar for lunch (long walk). Beach towel was changed once in 2 weeks as the towel exchange hut was never open. There was also no bread therefore serving hamburger or weiner buns for breakfast (fun making toast with that) a-la-carte served us a piece of weiner bun as their warm buns🥴, snack bars could not serve their menu as it mostly involved sandwiches. The a-la-carte’s Had a separate page on their menu with prices for the meals leaving the all inclusive with very little choice (might as well eat at buffet) and take your chances with their choices. And their meal prices were not cheap considering the value of the Canadian dollar. Whatever happened to the all inclusive at this point🤬😡. Line ups at the buffet grills were like 30 or so long they have 2 buffet with grills but only used the seating room for the overflow. With the amount of people the resort had they could have easily opened the other buffet. Lots of people complaining and saying they would not come back to this resort and it will be a long time or never before we go back as well.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Great Time at Dhawa

Nice newer resort with good pool, beach, rooms, dining, and staff. Well maintained and clean, with a good variety at the buffet. The only complaint would be that the a la carte main course meals took a long time to be served.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Amazing resort!

We were treated like royalty as soon as we arrived. Our room was ready for us. Shower = amazing tons of hot water. Close to everything pool, ocean,restaurants, snack bar and ice cream bar. Staff was so friendly.

Memories Paraiso: 6th Time as good as the first!

My time at Memories Cayo Santa Maria is ALWAYS fantastic. This is our 6th trip and I just don’t see is not going there year adter year! The people are amazing, the facality is always improving! The price of the vacation can’t be beat!

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Enjoyed sun and beach

After an absence of a few years since my last visit to Sol Cayo Santa Maria, I found the resort a bit tired and in need of upgrading. Almost all the water features (fountains etc.) on the site were dry and needed upgrading. Of course, I'm sure the resort suffered much damage from Hurricane Irma and maybe this could have been the reason. Nevertheless, the grounds were beautiful and well manicured, the staff was wonderful and friendly but the food was mediocre. I had previously planned for a two week stay but glad I was only there for one week.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Awesome

The entertainment was great food best we have had in Cuba. Hotel clean freshly painted. Butler was good at getting things done bungalow 58 Lester! The managers are friendly everyone willing to help. We will be back!!!

Valentin Perla Blanca: First & Last Visit to Valentin

Hotel lobby was nice,rooms require updates, definitely not 4.5 star. Dirty stained sheets and towels.Out of bread for first three days,then butter then wine.Always something. Please pack toilet paper, seems to be a shortage whether hotel or airport. Good coffee bar,buffet was lousy.Please read reviews on Tripadvisor and if you still decide to book pack toilet paper.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Not impressed

Not impressed with overall experience the resort was nice room ok beach and pools were great however customer service sucked. The buffet was small not a lot of selection also air transat was awful. Would return to Cuba but not here

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Amazing resort - excellent services!

We stayed at the resort Jan 18-25, 2019. It was our first time to go to Cuba and we are so happy we chose Angsana. The resort is beautiful and very clean. The staff provided excellent services. They made our stay memorable with their smiles and friendliness. Our maid Arlety always have our room spotless every day with clean towels. The bartenders at the pool Nellie and Pocorel gave excellent service every time. The buffet food is great I love fish. The staff Pedro the chef, Alain, Orles [... read more] and Dona are always with a smile and 100% services. The snack bar by the pool makes the best shrimp with coconut tempora. The reason we decided to go to Cuba is the beach and we sure love it. The beach is quite and they also have water activities. We tried the catamaran and we enjoyed it. They also have a small secret beach which was cool to walk miles in the shallow water. We love our stay at Angsana and would highly recommend this resort.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Need to communicate better

The food was much better than we expected, based on everything you hear about Cuba. The cooking stations do an excellent job of preparing food fresh, it is worth the wait in line. The biggest issue we encountered was the lack of communication. They temporarily 'moved' the a-la-carte restaurants, meaning they served them out of different locations, but did not communicate this to the guests, and none of the staff we asked could tell us where to find it; we ending up finding them (this happened [... read more] twice), but we were late for the reservation. Even staff at the customer service desk in the lobby did not know where the restaurants were located. One evening, they had a pig roast, which was not advertised, we only knew because we happened to be in the vicinity when they were setting up the roaster. No one could tell us, however, what was going on, and when it would be served.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great trip!!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. The resort is well kept. The beach is one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen in Cuba. White sand clear blue water. The weather was windy and cold. Next time I will not book January because I've leaned the it can be a hit or miss with weather and instead will book mid February. The food well it was very blend and although I never got sick from the food there was not much for me to choose from .. this coming from a vegetarian. Lunch was at the beautiful snack bar by the ocean so tho I wasn't loving my food I was loving my view and dinners was routed between pasta bars and rice bars. The Cuban restaurant was my favourite but it came with a cost 5-11 a person depending what you ordered. I was happy with my stay and would dedenitly book again. The beach made it worth the lack of food.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Definitely worth the price!

My family and I stayed at this resort for one week in January. I emailed the resort prior to staying to inform them that we will be celebrating two birthdays. The hotel staff did an amazing job celebrating our birthdays. They left a welcome note with a rose and a bottle of rum and a cake they also gave us the building of our choice which was block 12 joining rooms ocean view. I highly recommend the cappuccino bar! The only negative thing I would have to say is the food is very repetitive by the end of the week I had enough and was ready to eat some home cooked meals. The food never made me sick and really I'm there for the beach. The grounds are clean. I always had hot water and I really don't have anything negative to say.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: It was a nice, peaceful vacation !

From start to end, this time, on my 7th, visit to Cuba, I was amazed by the new, clean and neat look of Dhawa, resort ! The new villas, the gardens and the beach, always clean and ready for the visitors, What affected me, the most, before, was the attitude of the people working at the resort ! This time, most of resort personnel, were more relax, their help and support came from a different understanding of my presence there, which gave me a good feeling. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Won’t be back

Food was repetitive and only a few things were actually appealing. Both of us got food poisoning at this resort. We aren’t sure what particular dish we got it from but it occurred halfway through our trip. We had violent diarrhea and vomiting. There is an invisible stairway in the entry of the resort that numerous people injure themselves on, including myself.
