Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Very emosh. Emotion Santo Domingo

I want to start off by saying that the workers at this hotel are outstanding. Through my whole week all workers except one at the customer service desk were outstanding. I was a little disappointed by the beach as there is lots of seaweed. Once you get in there is a big area clear of seaweed to swim in so it made it okay. Big disappointment was that we did not have hot water to take showers for the whole week. Also the pressure was really like. A shower that should take 5 to 10 minutes too [... read more]k me 40 minutes. This was the biggest disappointment of all. Everyday I would ask when our water was going to get fixed and they would tell me that it would be done tomorrow. Tomorrow came and still no water. One day we had no water at all and our toilets wouldn't flush sinks wouldn't work showers wouldn't work. The ala carte restaurants we're okay. They are understaffed which made the service quite slow. They push you really hard to go to a breakfast lunch meeting so they can sell you some timeshare. This is definitely not a four-and-a-half star. Maybe a 3-star. I read all the positive reviews before I book this hotel and I'm now I'm figuring out why it has positive reviews. They give you a spa treatment and after that you need to sign the waiver that you will not say anything bad about the hotel.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Noteworthy Tidbits

This hotel was recommended by a very good friend who has been to the Lifestyle Resort 5 times. Also, her parents come twice a year and stay at The Tropical. We stayed at Cofresi due to the rooms being more modern and updated. Now that I have had the experience of being at this resort, I would personally chose The Tropical as there are less stairs and booking automatically comes with VIP Beach access (free WiFi). Loved it!!!! The entire resort is beautiful. Cofresi does have a lot of stairs yet i found it okay as i love walking and didn't mind the exercise. They have the best pools. The food was okay too. Most of the staff were friendly and tried to help whenever needed. I recommend purchasing the WiFi for the week - it was well worth it. Great resort overall!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Vacation

Everything was great about this resort. But the best part was the beach, that's what I go for usually on my vacations. Staff was great, very fast room service, pleasant staff at front desk. Location of the hotel is great, it is about 30 min from airport and close to a shopping mall, where a lot of people, tourists and locals came out in the evening. Nice social place and very safe. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort

The hotel is little old but very well maintained. The food is as good as in Canada. Every night they have different themes. The buffet serves steaks and lobsters. Staff is friendly. Lots of locals in June, they take over the bar and bud in front of you to get their order.

in a nut shell i did not really have any complaints about the resort altho it wass my first time going to a resort i felt as tho it wass an amazing experience as the staff were awesomely friendly and willing to help you when they could but also had there own personality to show they are real people not robots the bartenders were able to keep up with the demand when over whelmed with orders and the maids circled the buildings every day to restock your room then the activitys were amazing and staf [... read more]f were willing to join in on some of the games so that we were able to participate in them. now that i got that out of the way there is one thing that comes to mind if you do not have there app or check there activity bored you will miss out on a lot of the games and even then you have to have some form of watch or record of time as the pool and other activitys will help you lose track of time easily

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Beautiful Family Oriented Resort

I have nothing but positive things to say about this resort. The staff are incredible, especially Veronica and Maria who run the Kids Club. They made our vacation a memorable one. Thank you Be Live Marien for the memories!!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Fantastic Vacation

We had an Oceanview Junior Suite and it was immaculate and huge. We had a large tub with jets, a massive walk-in shower, and two sinks in the bathroom. There's nothing like waking up to a beautiful ocean view. The people who work in this resort are some of the friendliest and helpful people. We especially appreciated Darwin who we got to know and helped us navigate the resort. We mostly ate at the buffet (which was good) but also had the Brazilian and Mexican restaurants which I'd highly r [... read more]ecommend. There was a ton of daytime entertainment and at night we went to Ice a couple of times (their nightclub) which was a lot of fun. Lastly, my biggest recommendation would be to attend your orientation and ask Fredy as many questions as you have. He really goes out of his way to be helpful and provide you with an amazing experience.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Perfect resort

Food is excellent, there are 4 a la carte restaurant, and all are really good. Since this is adults only, this really has advantages. You can really relax and enjoy. There is vast variety of drinks and cocktails. Room is very clean and cozy, and they daily refill mini bar with beer and soft drinks. I will definitely return. Beach is very clean, this is the only resort at playa Dorada that does not have sea grass in the afternoon.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: 3rd visit and still as good

The grounds are wonderfully kept, the gardeners are to be highly praised they have their work cut out for them when some guests just don`t care where they throw there rubbish. Reception are very helpful. Food once again was very good, something for even the pickiest of people. Rooms though dated are spotlessly clean. The shuttle service is very good I rang down and they where there in a minute. All the staff where so friendly. Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Exceeded our expectations

Rooms: Junior suites in buildings 40, 41 and 42 are just amazing. Lots of space, very nice. Food: Casablanca is the best. Always something good to find. Service: Everybody is nice and polite. Entertainment: It was low season but despite they tried hard to keep something going on.

people make the hotel friendly Perfect spot you don't have to stay in the hotel there are very good places to see and have fun. Cabarette a town next door you must see this place,Piano bar learn how to dance with beautiful girls no cost go in have a drink talk and dance.Club 59 very safe great music, great places to eat outside hotel, Bologna italian food, there is Bailys great pizza and others

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing Resort

7 days vacation at this location. Great Resort, Very friendly people. Had lovely smiles on their faces. Service was excellent. Rooms were comfortable. Food was excellent. Hospitality was good. Only drawback was the beach. Was not appropriate for swimming as there was a lot of sea weeds which made swimming uncomfortable. Over all had a lovely time. Would recommend others.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: AMAZING!!!!!

what a great resort!! we got upgraded to the amnesia suite which was a bonus gave us a little more room :) The food was great, always found something to eat. only downfall as the time of year we went they only had 1-2 of the restaurants open each night, but buffet was always an option. The animation staff were amazing and work so hard all day and night to please all the guests. Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Resort good,people not so good

The staff are not fun or enthusiastic or friendly.only some of them.local vendors are way too pushy .lifestyle vacations on site for time share should not be permitted....( a good way to waste a valuable day). No swim up bar. Food is ok but gets tiring after a while.mexican a la carte was the best. Locals come in on the weekends and take over the place.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Sunscape Resort Amazing Resort

My friend and I visited Sunscape Resort and Spa ending of May to the first week in June. The hospitality and service was exceptional. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your needs are met. No bracelet or A-le-carte reservation. The hotel ground's are well maintained and clean. Nightly entertainment is great. With new management the resort has encorporated phenomenal changes based on other guests comments. The hire of the new General manager has done justication to the resort. If you are looking for quality vacation at a affordable price, I recommend Sunscape Resort in Puerto Plata. I guarantee you have no regrets. I can go on..and on about my experience for the week. The resort is breath taking, the beach is beautiful, the pools are very clean and the you have a wide variety of food selections. Special thanks to all the staff that help made my stay fantastic. From the moment I arrive until the last minute of my departure was excellent. Manager Johaira was so pleasant and very helpful. Looking for a vacation visit Sunscape. Excellent service. Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Good

Overall, I believe the resort was good. However they are missing a few things that I think should be included. They are missing a lounge for after dinner drinks, and they do not have a swim-up bar. The cleaning staff does a good job, however they do require a tip to do any extras IE flowers on the bed making animals out of towels. Lastly only 2 (out of 4) A la Cartes are open at one time.

the hotel was great . it was very clean and it was amazing that our room was cleaned everyday . very tropical feeling . the view from our ocean view room was fantastic . food was really good as well . the staff was very friendly all around

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Amazing trip!

The Viva Wyndham Heavens was amazing. We just arrived home after a perfect week at this resort. The Heavens is small and beautiful. The staff are amazing,especially the animation team! We had a fabulous week. The food is fabulous, and plenty of selection for all diets. Short walk to the beach which takes less than 3 minutes from the pool. The beach is beautiful and you could walk it for hours. Will definitely come back to this resort. Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Big beautiful resort

The resort itself was beautiful. We were a group of 12 (3 families... each 2 adults and 2 children). Check in was very quick. The rooms needed some refreshing (looked a little old) but were clean. The water had some difficulty draining in the tub. Bottled water was replenished but we left a note and tip asking for more Pepsi in the mini fridge and never got any. The views were beautiful, the grounds were green and lush. You had to take a shuttle just about everywhere. Food (both buffet and a le  [... read more]carte restaurants) was plentiful and a good variety... even for a couple of our very picky eaters. They were able to seat 12 of us together every time we walked in with no wait. Oscar was he best server at the buffet restaurant!!! The beach had no lounge chairs because the tide came up to high in the evening. Vendors set up on the beach. The resort has signs saying if you value your life don’t purchase any water sports from vendors on the beach. Pools were awesome. Bars, music and washrooms close by. We had to walk through the VIP section to get to and from the restaurant for lunch and security kind of made you feel uncomfortable about go through there. Stopped and questioned us every day... we would just say “going to the beach”. Nightly shows were just ok. They were held in an outdoor auditorium. Was expecting better. Disappointed that there were no Spanish coffees or mimosa. We like to splurge while on vacation. We are used to the lobby being a fun, busy place in the evenings... but not here, nothing going on. A lot of security around, so always felt safe. There were time share condos as part of the resort and a lot of golf carts driving around. People trying to sell you vacation time share outside of the buffet restaurant but we told them we weren’t interested and they left us alone.
