Moon Palace Cancun: Second to none

We are just back from a 7 day stay at the Moon Palace in Cancun, and I must say I have never had service equal to what they provide in any other resort we have stayed at. And there have been many. The resort is large but they make it so easy for their guests to get to and from the other two palace resorts by way of bus or golf cart. I didn't golf but while my husband did I enjoyed a wonderful morning at the spa. The Pyramid Cancun: Disappointed

The resort grounds were nicely kept. It was very noisy staying right at the pyramid. During the day they were practicing for the show for the evening. In the evening it was very loud when the show was going on and during the night you heard the party people, it echoed everywhere. There was not one quite place to a have a drink. Loud music every where, so this resort is for party people. The pool was too cold to go in, what a shame not to be able to enjoy it during our stay. The buffets were rea [... read more]lly disappointing. They were small, unappetizing, cold food, and it was the same everyday. The al a cartes nothing special. Hard to get in because you couldn't make reservations. Long waits, the other option was the buffet. Ugh. By the 3rd day of our stay we didn't know where or what to eat. The rooms were clean but the bathrooms were in dire strait of repairs. The bathtubs have been painted several times, you wouldn't want to sit in there. There was always water sitting in the hallway. The staff was not overly friendly. This holiday really not enjoyable for us. Like i said its a party place for younger adult. The focus for this resort was the night life and entertainment

Secrets The Vine Cancun: Amazing Resort

This resort surpassed our expectations. The entire property is kept very clean with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff in all departments are friendly and accommodating, always asking if there is anything further they can do to make your stay more enjoyable. The food was top quality and we enjoyed the fact that the Marche cafe was an a la carte menu for dinner and not a buffet style. There was a nice variety of restaurants to choose from. The only negative would be that the lighting in the Asian restaurant was too dark to be able to read the menu. Although we did not participate in any activities the daily morning exercise at the beach and the noon swim arobics were well attended. The beach area was beautifully appointed and clean, and the staff constantly around to enquire if we required a drink or anything. Towels were easily acceptable and we enjoyed the fact that we did not have to sign in for a towel, but could take as many as we needed. Although our room was comfortable and clean, we did have problems working out the lighting panel.

Riu Cancun: Superb

The Riu Cancun was fantastic. The staff were so much fun, we didn't leave the resort at all and we were never bored. The food in the buffet was pretty amazing. Great selection (and I'm a picky eater) and always fresh. The a la cartes weren't anything to write home about but they were still good. The evening shows were also really entertaining. Rooms were clean and modern. I would definitely stay here again.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Alright resort

Room extremely unsoundproof. Lots of extra costs. Good dining. Nice pools. Amazing beach. Lots of the excursions were unavailable. The food itself wasn't very good. The view was beautiful. People were nice.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Great resort

The resort is very big and very nice! Got lost there a lot with how big it is. Everything was really good, including the food, drinks, scenery, beach etc. The only thing I would change is to have friendlier staff (as most were rude) to make the experience more cultural and fun! whenever I go other places down south I always find there to be so much culture and genuinity, however here I felt it very Americanized. Also, we booked an excursion through the resort and were lied to about what we would [... read more] actually get with the excursion. That was a little bit disappointing as my boyfriend and I aren't hard people to please, and would've still gone had we had the true facts about what we would get with the excursion (example: instead of "unlimited buffet" we had one free meal a person. And instead of "unlimited drinks" we had one drink a person. And instead of "free snorkelling" and "free swimming with dolphins" and "free everything else", we had to pay for just about everything. Other than that, the resort is pretty nice and the food was great. And if you don't want to be bothered to buy drugs every few minutes, don't buy items from the guys selling on the beach selling "cigars, bracelets, sunglasses etc".

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: Mixed Emotions

Jan 2017 - Our first impressions of this hotel were not good upon arrival. The lobby is shabby and in need of updating but we didn't intend to spend a lot of time in the lobby anyway. Our initial room was a standard room and was road side which was noisy and the bathrooms were extremely small. We quickly requested to upgrade to an ocean front room and it was the best decision we made. We fell asleep every night listening to the sound of waves and could look out at the pool while the kids swa [... read more]m. The rooms were kept very clean although there were issues with the shower leaking to the floor resulting in puddles of water, an easily clogged toilet and an air conditioner that konked out if it was turned down to low. However, all of these things in our books were minor inconveniences. I did, however, feel sorry for the maintenance guys that have to keep this aging resort running. We found all of the staff very friendly and accommodating. Despite what some of the reviews had to say about the food, we have travelled to many resorts (3 stars to elegant 5 stars) and we found the food good here. There was always grilled meats and lots of grilled veggies to choose from. The omelet bar every morning and the crepe bar at lunch was a hit. The bartenders and variety of drinks was very good. The beach is small and the roped off area makes it even smaller for swimming. One of the highlights was the walking proximity to the Ferry to Isla Majueres (15 mins) and to the El Meca ruin. (10mins) You can also rent seadoos ($65 US/30mins) and go parasailing at a boat rental place 10 mins up the road. There is also a van service that can take you to the local bus station for the adventurous type who want to do their own exploring. If you are travelling with children, the smallness of this resort is a bonus. You will likely always know where your kids are. (even tho the waterpark is across the road with a tunnel connection to the resort) Also, the waterpark is getting old. The slides can leave scrapes on the kids backs. For the cheap price, this resort is fine. However, if you can afford a little more, I would suggest to go to a newer resort.

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Beautiful Hotel, Excellent Service!

Always long chairs available at the beach. No complications with reservations/line-ups to eat at the a la carte restaurants. No wait to get served at the bars. Rooms are big, clean and beautiful! Service is great. Checking-in was easy and fast.

Royal Solaris Cancun: A pleasant surprise!

We planned this trip in December and assumed that it would be a decent resort based on posted reviews. I have to say that the resort surpassed my expectations. From shuttle pick up and drop off to front desk staff that everyone was great to deal with. The food was excellent, the resort is clean, the room was very clean and refreshed daily and the view of the ocean was fantastic. The only drawback for me would be that the bathroom in our room was somewhat outdated. I would give the resort 4 stars!

The Bel Air: No Thanks

Very disappointed with everything. The staff is very unhappy and unfriendly. The beach was full of sea weed. Food was very unsatisfactory, the pools were in the shade and 4 feet deep. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Oh Cancun The Urban Oasis: Will definately come back!

The oh by oasis was an amazing hotel. The breakfast every morning was great with many options. The shuttle service to oasis grand was a huge plus as we saved a lot of money on taxis. We enjoyed staying here more then we would have at an all inclusive because we got to do more cultural activities and eat better quality authentic food. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a more adventurous trip!

Riu Palace Peninsula: Huge resort far from the noise.

We stayed for seven nights in the king jacuzzi suite. The suite was massive, larger then our 2 bed condo downtown Toronto with a huge patio. Amazing views of the sea from every window. We were on the sixth floor. I've stayed in many all inclusive resorts this was by far the best suite we've stayed in. That said, the food was poor for a hotel of this grade. We were left hunting for it a lot throughout the day which infuriated us. Drinks too you needed to tip just to get beach service. The [... read more] service, I found almost everyone I dealt with had poor customer service. From the front desk to the bars. Some were great but on the whole not what I would expect. This is contrary to every other Mexican resort I've stayed in. I really found them all to be unfriendly and unhelpful. The other glaring thing I noticed was the lack of English. Again a resort of this size and star rating I would have expected better. I found this a plus, but it is a drive in a cab to the main strip. Because we found the food so poor at the hotel and truthfully because we like to eat out we left the hotel every night and found ourselves spending as much as $30 US to get to any particular high-end restaurant. Overall I found for the money we spent and the suite we stayed in, it was good value for money. However if I had stayed in a regular suite which were no larger than small New York hotel rooms I definitely would not recommend this hotel there are better beach closer to the strip in Cancun. If you're not a really fussed about food but do you want five star amenities this hotel really does have all of that.

Paradisus Cancun: Great Resort

My wife and I stayed at the Paradisus Cancun from 08-15 Jan 2017. It is by far the nicest place we have stayed. The resort was clean , rooms were spacious and service was great. The food at the Buffet was very good and 5 of the 6 restaurants we tried the food was very good to great. We stayed on the Royal Service side and the service their was very good. All the staff were friendly and were fun to talk and joke with. We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Room for improvement

Good evening Teelah, We returned from our trip Monday AM and I wanted to let you know of the issues we had while at The Grand Oasis. Firstly, when we checked in they informed us we were staying in one of the outside buildings and gave us our wristbands. At the time we weren't given any information about where to eat, drink or go for entertainment. It wasn't until Friday that we realized that we were not considered at the "Grand Oasis" when we tried to eat at a restaurant (it was called [... read more] the White Spot Gastropub) and were told it would cost each of us $40 each additionally because we had orange wristbands and not black ones . I know when we booked you had mentioned we had access to everything so we tried another restaurant and were also denied. Ultimately we had to go to the buffet. Secondly we were told that wifi was included when we booked, at check-in. When I asked for the code I was told access was free but to use internet it was $15/day per day. This required 4 of my 6 friends to have to purchase internet for the stay. Lastly I was in room 4142, you can see into the bathroom from the bedroom and literally see people on the toilet while on the bed, also in the shower I appreciate all of your assistance and effort in organizing this, unfortunately I think the resort was at fault in the issues we experienced.

Occidental Costa Cancun: ok hotel

We enjoyed this hotel, staff was very friendly. BUT if your a group larger than 6 people it was HELL to make dinner reservations which you had to do every morning. It was so bad we had to ask for the hotel manager to help make our dinner reservations for 9 people. This part almost ruined it for us . It was beyond frustrating. So my advise is your family if larger than 6 don't go

Moon Palace Cancun: Amazing resort, staff, programming. beach? weather? proximity to airport?

Every thing about the resort, staff and programming is beyond expectations and we were happily surprised/pleased with how much all levels of staff went to ensure we had an amazing vacation. However, I am going to highlight that this resort does not have a good beach - couple this with cooler weather during December and January, it makes for a poor choice for kids. If I wanted a 5-star resort only I can crash into any 5* resort in NA. I was there to also enjoy the beach, open air, scenic vie [... read more]ws. Cooler weather and lack of a decent beach is an issue I intent to address for the next vacation. Lastly, proximity to the airport meant frequent planes overhead. Occidental Costa Cancun: Nice resort

The only issue I had with this resort was making dinner reservations for a group of 9. We are a family of 9 who enjoy to eat dinner together, especially dinner. This was a big deal and couldn't accommodate us, they wanted us to eat at different times! We had to get the hotel manager involved to get help. Based on how stressful it was to eat together we will not return. If you are a group smaller than 8 then this is a great resort. Food is good, drinks are good and service is great. Don't  [... read more]book a standard room, there is a balcony but not wide enough for a chair!! We were able to pay to upgrade our rooms to larger rooms with balconies.

Moon Palace Cancun: Exceeded our Expectations

We booked Moon Palace for the golf. Our expectatations for the resort itself were not that high because we typically stay at Adults Only Luxury 5 stars. The resort, the grounds, the rooms and service were all outstanding- the golf was great as well :)

Grand Oasis Cancun: Just ok

Some good restaurants, but too long of a wait to eat. No service by the pool or beach witch makes it difficult to enjoy a few drinks. Also it's very loud in the rooms at night. It's a party resort. Our room was nice and clean. I don't recommend this resort for families with kids.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Very disappointed!!

Our first impression of the hotel was that it would be a great location for our 7 day vacation. Check in was an absolute mess, everything to do with the front desk left us feeling frustrated. This was only the beginning of our disappointment with the grand oasis.
