The service towards English speaking customers was bad. Often there weren't beach towels available, forks, or spoons during meal time as well. We never got our drinks during the main meal, if they were delivered it was around when we were ready for dessert. The bed sheets were not changed for the whole week, and honestly, I was sweating a lot - so wet sheets every night. I would not recommend or go there again.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Superby Service
This is my first time visiting the Caribbean. I have never visited an "all inclusive resort" before and I was impressed with the calibre of service they offered. Being a strict Vegetarian, I thought i would face obstacles but rather the chef/staff were more than accommodating to meet the needs of my family of 3.
There were new varieties of food every day —fresh fruits galore!! The salad bar had fresh vegetables daily, and they were far more colourful than a typical salad bar we experience in O[... read more]ntario.
Room service: Daily a cleaning staff would bring fresh towels and make up our bed and place 2 bottles of water in the bar fridge.
I had booked the "Amnesia junior suite" with 2 double beds, with a sofa. The suite is very comfortable and you dont feel cramped in .
The wash room is nice. Showerstall was perfect for those hot days to cool off.
Bars: beach side and pool side
No words to describe how friendly and hospitable they are to tourist. They will make any drink you like. Day or not night..
No end of liquors, as if it were flowing like water!!
Cafe shop:
At this resort, there is a coffee shop. Many North American tourists enjoy their dose of caffeine in the morning.
The cafe would make any speciality coffees that you may fancy. Daily I would come over and get my Cappacinino and my Crossisant.
Very popular spot during the day.
I would like to recommend if they can extend the hrs from until 9pm rather than 5pm. In the evening, there are some of us,who enjoy a nice
Night cap in the evenings. Amazing fresh pastries made daily!
Beach:
The team called "Viva Vibe" are staff they help with any water sports one would like to entertain while at the beach.
Almost daily we would ask the staff to come an accompany us (family ) each in separate kayaks and help us navigate through the chopping
waves of the Alantic Ocean. VIVA ViBE are responsible for entertainment at the resort. They perform the live shows, the night dancing and the Disco. The staff are highly skilled and very helpful. I love their "service attitude".Always smiling and will to help a helping hand if one facing any
problems rendering the services at the resort. Excellent service ( 5 stars).
La carte Dining:
We had the pleasure of attending only 2.The rest were fully booked. The chef would prepare speciality dish for us, because we were Vegetarian.
One night were had Italian.Best Italian food I have ever tasted!!
Only issue is that spots fill out very quickly first thing in the morning. Can the management open up another restaurant on the premises to have 2 la carte dining at the same time with 2 separates cusines?? Everyone would like that intimate fine dining experience with "wine ,dine and candle light setting" but those slots fill up quickly!!

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Small but nice resort
Upon arrival we were sent to what looked like a prison cell (not actually) but it was so small, no balcony, no sitting spot- the Bliss room. We got moved the next day, to a suite and it was much better. The resort is very small. Food was pretty decent sort of the same things each day. Small pool, so it seemed crowed at times. Wifi kicks you off often so you have to constantly sign back in. Nothing to do at night unless you wait for the disco to open at 11pm, we didn't check it out! Mostly Domini[... read more]can people when we were there. No complaints!!

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: A very good resort.
The hotel was very good, the service was very good. The restaurant was very good. But I can not say the same for the beach. It is only a limited surface you can swim because the water becomes too deep. And the sea plants are everywhere.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Lovely beach and grounds!
Rooms were okay, bathrooms could use some updating. Comfortable bed. Beach was beautiful with lots of space. Pool was okay - crowded. Full buffet with attentive staff. Nightly entertainment to suit your taste. 24 hour sports bar - great for early morning coffees etc. Wonderful array of coffees and pastries at the specialty coffee shop. Tried the specialty restaurants - good steak house but don't expect a leisurely meal. No activities but we knew that when we selected the place so no com[... read more]plaints. Check-in/out staff should set realistic expectations for customers who have concerns - i.e. TV didn't work for 3 days, but only after the 2nd follow up did they offer to switch rooms - not what you want to do when you only have 1 day left of vacation. Internet availability - no sign ins/passwords. For older couples looking for a nice place to chill, this is a good spot!

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: I want to go back!
We traveled to this resort as a family with two adults and two teenagers and we all had a great time! The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the staff are very friendly. The beach is beautiful and we all enjoyed the lazy river water park. The rooms and grounds are very clean. I'd definitely recommend this resort to others and would love to go back!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: 11 Person Family Trip
Beautiful property with several ponds, stocked with koi and turtles. Peacocks and other interesting birds on site. Large pool, well-maintained. Amazing splash pad for the kids.
Service was bad. 6 hours to check in. 90% of staff were ambivalent. Tables were constantly dirty, cluttered, had to beg for the floors to be swept, had to use paper cups for hot drinks in the dining room. Ran out of plates. Bowls, spoons. No orange juice left after 8:30 am. We had a six hour wait for baby crib. Showed f[... read more]or reservation for dinner with four adults and 2 infants(1 in stroller, 1 needs high chair), made us wait 45 mins because we reserved for 4. Out of towels at pool. Beds not always made, no towels, cloths in room twice, no batteries in remote(asked twice, waited all week-never came), spent $700 on tips, couldn’t get anyone to care about anything. Beautiful place but needs massive overhaul to service. Beach was lovely, but dirty. Water was cloudy all week. They did 2 tractor passes per day for algae, but garbage was in the sand everywhere and many lounge chairs were damaged. BEWARE: hotel has something called, ‘Level’, which gives guests private dining, adult pools, preferred check-in, private beach, private off-limits grounds. We missed it in the fine print and regretted it.

Riu Republica: Hotel needs help
We have stayed at many Riu’s, and this was bar far the worst managed. In fact, there was no management anywhere to be found.
From not having proper rooms to accommodate our group size ( no double or queen beds), to non existent rules for at least wearing shorts/t-shirts to restaurants. Ppl would come wearing bathing suits at all hours.
The food was good, and I’m lucky we are a very flexible family.
The staff tried, mostly. When there is no management anywhere, or none that seem to give[... read more] a damn, the staff just do heir own thing.

Ocean El Faro: Not More Than a 3*
- Property is large so will not be good for travelers with limited mobility.
- Beach is full of seaweed, and rocks in certain areas in the ocean. You won't know they're there until it's too late.
- Food is acceptable, same thing everyday, no theme nights. Reservation for À la Carte restaurants is a challenge and can only be done the day of within a restricted time. No advance reservation can be done in one shot for the duration of your stay. Reserving through the app is a great idea, but why s[... read more]et time and other restrictions? Travelers are on vacation and shouldn't have to be stressed by these unnecessary limitations.
- Service is extremely slow, borderline disrespectful with no smiles in sight. Calls for housekeeping or repairs to your room take the whole day after multiple calls to the front desk. The maid thinks the "Please Make Up Room" means "Please Do Not Disturb". If you're Asian, you're ignored. Remember, tips are earned and not owed.
- The thermostat in our room didn't work, and the TV turned on by itself at high volume. We had to unplug the TV, and wait for hours to get someone to come and fix these.
- Floaties can be pumped at the lazy river at no cost, but an Asian man was told there's a charge to pump a few of his children's floaties. NOT COOL!!

We just returned from the resort. The resort grounds are well kept also the pools. Coleen our agent requested 2 beds, but on our arrival we had king side bed. We did raise our concerns and the did find 2 beds room. The room was a good size .The bathroom was nice and clean ,air condition worked well. But you have no place to hang your clothes .The safe was hard to work it was old you had to push the buttons few times before it worked. We had no telephone for 3days.The balcony door was closed by a big[... read more] pin, no door handles at all.The big mirror in the room was marked badly. We did used the desk for our clothes. We left the room for the beach around10 AM returning around 3PM most of the time I had to look for made to clean the room. Water for drinking we had ask always to give us more.
The restaurant in the resorts were very good, good choise. On other hand the buffet by the beach was almost the same food for2 weeks. The main buffet was the same. When you like to have egg or omelette there were lines you had to wait. For dinners not to much choice. The beach was very nice ,warm water enough umbrellas if you got to the beach early. The social life is excellent for people.

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Lousy resort
I strongly wouldn’t recommend this resort, the staff was friendly, except for the maid staff and mini bar staff who were horrible
The entertainment was boring
It was very hard to reserve the restaurants so we basically had to eat at the buffet restaurant and thank goodness the food was good
So it wasn’t worth the money that we spent so on a scale of one to ten I give it a 2

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Not up to expectations
The grounds were nicely kept but due to the lack of service, that alone turned me off. The food and rooms were a 7/10 for me. The entertaining could have been better. It wasn’t crazy busy so I would have expected better service than what we received.
They had water stations set up on each room block and had glass jug for you to fill up daily but can’t bring that to beach so I would suggest bringing your water bottle to take with you as they don’t have bottles in the fridge.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Definitely not a five star resort
The resort was quite old looking and had no fans to keep the airflow going. I had to ask for my welcome drink and moreover the guy at the concierge treated me as second class since I was not part of the diamond club. I felt everyone at the front desk was about making some extra bucks.
The dinning experience was also quite painful since the air condition was working at minimal. One couldn’t even enjoy meals since you were sweating the whole time. Food was overall good at all the restaurants. No[... read more] major complaints ! Drinks were pretty basic but service at the bar and dinning was pretty good. Everyone was very friendly.
Pool size was ok but several areas were booked for diamond club, so it was very hard to find a decent spot. Most of the cabanas were not being used but they always had a reserve sign on them.
Our room was ok, nothing great. We kept complaining about the door since it was totally jammed, but we were totally ignored, so we gave up. There were literally three English channels and even those were horrible print. I couldn’t even just relax in the room and watch something.
The bed was comfortable. The bar in the room was only beer and water. I have been to other resorts that have a better bar.
I would not come back to this resort.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Ok resort…
The resort its self is very nice, and the rooms are beautiful. The pools and lazy river were loads of fun. The beach was sup par, tons of kelp and buoys and ropes sectioning off areas so absolutely no classic scenic ocean view. The customer service is what really put us down. We called numerous times for a trolly as we were 20 mins from the lobby and we suggested the service, and it would just not show up despite claiming they would. Buffets were over staffed and under serviced. We often made du[... read more]e with a missing fork, napkins, and cups, having to share because staff was not attentive. Our room kept being stocked for 3 people even though we were 4, we brought it up several times with no success, never received a shampoo/cond/soap restock, we had 1 tiny supply for a whole week for 4 of us even after asking. Spanish speaker so no language barrier excuse. Bars were excellent and friendly. Casino is really small and empty. You have to pay for the surfing which was deceiving. Nightly entertainment was a gamble, there was a schedule but whether it would happen was a guess. Tons of us guests would gather round the stage area and wait into night and eventually disperse without any entertainment most nights.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Good resort
I think this is a nice resort. The food was decent some nights better than others ? the a la carte restaurants had no AC so we ate quickly and left again food decent. The drinks ok, stay away from the wine horrible ? on a positive note the staff and the view’s fantastic! We chose this hotel because of price and close to city. However pretty good for a 3 star hotel. If you stay the entire day at a resort this is not a good option. This hotel is worth it if you do activities outside of resort.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Great Resort
The Resort is beautiful, clean and safe. The room was always cleaned but the only issue was mosquitoes in the room. Maybe to work on that but for the rest it was great.
I loved the family ambiance it has, the different entertainment every day both for kids and adults. The food was amazing and there was a variety of food whether at the buffet or at restaurants.
The little cars for transportation from one corner of the resort to the other is a great feature.

Cayo Levantado Resort: A Hidden Gem unlike no other
Cayo Levantado Resort blew our minds. We have never experienced a resort like this in all our travels around the world. The transfer bus dropped us at a beautiful villa which featured a stunning bar and well appointed seating indoors and out. While our luggage were transferred onto a private ferry we sipped cocktails as Frantz processed our check-in.
The ferry ride to CLR island was beautiful. The island is so magnificent, from the grounds, the main reception lobby and every single amenities [... read more]available. You are absolutely surrounded in beauty at CLR. Our rooms were immaculate and stunning, our bar was stocked with 3 different types of Rum, bottle of wine, beers, water, pop, tea, coffee. Even though we didn’t opt for a sea view suite the sea was still highly visible from our balcony. Not difficult since this resort is on a small island. We took advantage of the all-inclusive in-room dining service and ordered breakfast 2 days and dinner once. The delivery personnel set up our meals on our balcony dining table in the same manner as you would expect at a fine dining restaurant. The room service menu offers high quality meals with plenty of healthy, nutritious options. Even at the beach you can order lunch/snacks and it’s delivered to your location in a cute basket. The food at every restaurant is high quality, delicious and with so many healthy options. We loved having an ambassador assigned to us 24 hours a day. Whenever we needed a cart to transport us from one location to another, we simply text our ambassador and a cart is sent to us immediately. One night we finished all of our bottled water before heading out to dinner. We texted our ambassador and he arranged for 3 large bottles to be delivered to our room while we were out having dinner. I absolutely loved how worry-free and stress free our vacation was. Everyone, quite literally EVERYONE went out of their way to make sure everything about our stay was excellent.
The only regret we had: Yubarta was the primary attraction and reason for choosing CLR. Our goal was to use the facilities daily. We had two amazing sessions with Mahalia who was fantastic. But the mosquitoes feasted on us during those sessions and the aftermath almost ruined our trip. My right knee and calves were swollen and painful from the bites. Yubarta is beautiful, tranquil with many ponds, all enclosed in a lush jungle setting. But sadly that setting makes it a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes. If the huts were at least enclosed in mosquitoe netting or if citronella candles were lit during healing/meditation/yoga sessions we would have definitely achieved our primary goal of going to Yubarta every single day. Special recognition to Frantz, Jeffries, Victor, Mahalia, Adrian and Yorkis who really made every effort into ensuring our experience at CLR was perfect. Thank you to every single cart driver, they’re awonderful and courteous.
Also, all the reviews about the lobby bar mixologists are TRUE! They really DO make the most amazing cocktails. It’s very entertaining watching their craft, sometimes using blow torches and other gadgets, like one to create “smokey” bubbles to top cocktails.
We cannot wait to return to CLR. It feels like a dream now, having pictures and videos to remind us that we really did experience such a magnificent vacation.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Caution with this resort
Just to put context on me and my family, I have been working 2-3 jobs to pay for this lifetime vacation for me and my family (wife and 2 kids 16years old boy and 19 years old girl). First everything went well with airport and flights. The problem started with arriving at the Hotel Bahia Principe Grand. First deception is that none of the request I made for room were granted – Close to Beach – upper floor - at least 1 room with 2 beds. NONE of this was given we were really far from beach and[... read more] put on the first floor and my son 6foot 1inch had to sleep on a rollaway bed for the first night. This was a real letdown; I know request for rooms are not guaranteed but none of the 3 request is a big big disappointment. After the first night my son told me the rollaway bed he did not sleep well, so I decide to go to the lobby and demand another room. THIS IS WHERE THING WENT SOUR AND WERE I WAS PROBABLY TRICK, EXPLOITED, CHEATED OUT OF 450$ US DOLLARS BY BAHIA PRINCIPE FRONT DESK STAFF. When I ask for another room, I was told it was not possible except rooms in the newly renovated room called Premium room. I ask the person at the front desk is these room right beside construction site because I notice on the first day that there was lots of construction on the first day, the person at the front desk told me and assured me it was not, so I trusted him and paid the 450 dollars for the room upgrade so my son would not have to sleep in a rollaway bed. Once we arrived at the room 3112 in Villa 3. I saw that I was lied to and deceived by person at front desk, this room was the closest from construction there was and my kids (Teenagers) who like to sleep in the morning were not able because of screaming construction employees at 7h30AM and heavy construction starting at 8hAM every morning. Also, my son made me notice that they had small ants in the room. The 3rd day my son told me, Dad this vacation was supposed to be to relax, rest and fun. This made me very frustrated, so I went to the front desk again because I paid for this not acceptable upgrade and lost 2hours on day 2 to move all our stuff, I ask the front desk to find us other rooms and they said resort was full!!!!!!! So I demanded my 450$ back and they said it was not possible. So at this point I was very upset and try very hard to not let this ruined our vacation but this was not the last story of these room from HELL…… 3rd night 11hpm Room 3110 my wife goes to toilet and then I ear screams, big big insect cockroach in the bathroom I try to kill it and could not it lodge itself under the toilet, I call front desk and finally at 1h30AM someone show up with a can of Raid, spays under the toilet and leaves. 4 day we notice a refrigerator is not working called front desk but never got repaired all 8days we were their also we notice really bad smell in room that’s when I notice bad stains of MOLD all over our selling in the room….Also the air conditioning in our room was barely working I had to hop in the shower 2 times a night and take a cold shower so I could sleep!!!! At this point if it would a been possible to leave this resort I would been out off their in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, this story is not over. When had visit from cockroaches for the next 4 nights, again my wife went to the bathroom at 1ham et another cockroach so I called front desk they said someone would come, 2ham nobody shows up, so I had to go cockroach hunting at 2ham after I that I did not call front desk anymore and killed every cockroach we had in room. I went back to front desk but was not taken seriously for bugs in room, bad smell and mold also they told us old refrigerator and air conditioning is normal , which was not because my kids room was so cool and refrigerator too. I did try to reach by email TripCentral to the person that I had as email contact when I purchase my vacation but like the resort, they had my money and where not interested in helping me. I that time I just gave up with front desk and TripCentral to recuperate my money 450$ because I was trying to enjoy my vacation. Is there anyway I get my 450$ US dollars back and some kind of compensation from tripcentral for leaving me there and not respond to my emails. I HOPE A GET A RESPOND FROM THIS
