Melia Las Dunas: Potential for five stars
In mid-April we spent a week at Melia las Dundas. Our seventh trip to Cuba. I must say that the resort has the potential to be a five-star hotel. The grounds are beautiful, very well-kept, green, with lots of shade. The beach is breathtaking, white, powdery sand and turquoise, warm, clean, shallow water. Lots of shade and chairs. The lobby is huge and nice, impressive at night, when everything lights. Its sounds like a wonderland, but it ends here... It's easy to say that it was a high-class ho [... read more]
Paradisus Los Cayos: Under construction to provide 5 star service
The hotel is planned to be a five star resort and is also priced as a 5 star resort however it is not fully there as yet. Be it customer service, amenities, entertainment or dining. A lot more needs to go into it to reach the 5 star rating.
Melia Jardines del Rey: The resort is in a good location, beach is great. The pools are well kept. Need more towels.
The grounds and resort was well kept, clean overall. The beach was clean. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Manuel (Mohammad) as his boss refers to him, great curtious polite went out of his way to help the guest. Wish him and his wife the best of luck with the journey of starting a family, he will make a great dad. Ernesto part of the entertainment was a fantastic individual who always had a smile on his face. This is one person who enjoys his job. Entertainment was gr [... read more]
Memories Cayo Largo: 20+ trips to Sol Cayo Largo...will there be more.....
We have been to this resort over 20 times, clearly we like the island and resort. Our appeal has always been the isolation, the vast expanse of the beach, the friendly staff, each time it is like going 'home' for a visit. Over the years, there was a gradual decline in the property upkeep, however we have noticed in the past 2 years a significant change to improve the property. Updated lobby, new A/C, some buildings were being painted, new gym equipment, new lounge chairs on the beach and by th [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Melia Marina Varadero
I want to be as fair as possible. We requested at arrival an upgrade to THE LEVEL room and the service on all the food locations except the buffet are pretty slow, they need to improve a lot the speed of service on it. The people is just perfect everywhere. Something else than i told them is the none main stairs are not clean, basically between levels 1 to 3. Bottles, cigars, and garbages all related elements when people hide for a break. Hopefully they improve this and will be good for them [... read more]
Memories Cayo Largo: Will definitely go back :)
We stayed at Sol Cayo Largo for a week and had a wonderful time. The food and the service was good, we loved it that there were choices were to go and not just a buffet. The snack bar by the pool was a great choice. We liked the privacy of the rooms, it felt as we were at home. The entertainment was great, we enjoyed the shows every night and the games everyday at the pool and by the ocean. We will definitely go back to this resort.
Melia Las Americas: Resort/golf course was great!
We liked it as the golf course was part of the same property and easily accessible. Some staff was friendly and efficient and some staff just was not. Often talking amongst themselves, forgetting they had vacationers to look after.
Melia Cayo Coco: 3rd visit to Melia Cayo Coco
A big thank you to Jennifer Brown at Trip Central for booking our vacation. She is very professional, answered all our questions and made it easy for us to relax knowing everything was taken care of. Lovely, quiet resort with staff who go above and beyond to give an exceptional experience. The beach is phenomenal. Very short bus ride from the airport. The rooms are clean although the bathrooms could use an update. Buffet didn’t have as much variety this time but we always found something [... read more]
Hotel Vigia: Beautiful Beach and Staffs.
We were told it was a 3.5 and it was. The beach was a 10 and so were the staffs. The rooms are in need of repair and the food (stayed at several other Cuba resorts) was limited. Don't get me wrong you won't go hungry but there was only one day with bacon at breakfast. Like other resorts they always had fries. Ran out of their equivalent of 7up most of the week. Overall I have no regrets going to this resort, if you like nice beaches and good service it's good. They need to start renovating [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort for those who like the ocean and long sandy beach
The ocean and the beach are the best of the best The rooms are clean, no smell of mold or mildew The ground is clean and beautiful The reception is very friendly The food is so--so. Although it is getting better. The waiters and waitresses in the buffet are excellent. The entertainment is really good The pool is small. But we are not pool people.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great vacation
This hotel was very nice. The rooms were simple but clean. Nice showers. Very beautiful beach no need for water shoes. Only one adult pool but was decent size. Food was ok but was expected to be just ok. A la carte restaurants were pretty good though. Stuff to do for all ages. We’re in our 20s and experienced the catamaran which was a lot of fun. Definitely recommend. We also checked out the Saturno cave which was about a 30 minute drive from this resort. There was also a Cuban bar/disco at [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Princessa del Mar
I returned from here a few days ago. I had also been there in January, and was pleased, so returned for more fun in the sun. The staff here are exceptional. They remembered me from the prior stay, and I was treated like a friend as opposed to a guest. Barby came around from the swim up bar, and warmly greeted me. She remembered clearly the gifts I had given her in January. Orestes was also a warm, and fun bartender. They can keep you laughing all day long. They all are really, these two [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Amazing beach!
Hotel is great for families or adults only. Family side had lots of activities and 2 pools. Exactly what I would have wanted if I travelled with small children. The adult side was nice and quiet but not too mellow. It has 2 pools as well. Met and talked to a lot of great people. Had good evening entertainment we were never bored. Beach is absolutely beautiful. There are lifeguards and no charge sailboat rides and paddle boats which is also great for families. Service was great the Cuban people a [... read more]

Sol Cayo Coco: Amazing beach
Grounds are kept very well. Rooms needs renovations.Service in the lobby area needs improving. Not enough wait staff. In terms of food not a lot of variety. Entertainment was good. The amazing beach makes up for the resort!!!
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Not what we thought!
the grounds and style of building look great. But inside needs lots of work. Beds are extremely hard with uncomfortable pillows. Our room as well as other people we met had cockroaches in their rooms. Some had ants and some had tiny little red bugs in their bedding! Not acceptable. Most websites say 4.5 star some even say 5 * no way! Their is NO service in "customer service". We had to ask for 3 days for clean bath towels, have our room cleaned and bottled water - this was to be done da [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Most Satisfactory
Neat and clean grounds and facilities. Service staff were most friendly and accommodating. Food and al la carte restaurants were exceptionally good. Common areas and bars had room for and need for more tables and chairs. The beach at this resort is fabulous. Our only issue with our room, (building 3), was the difficulty of stepping in and out of the raised bathtub/shower. We would need a room with easier access to shower if we were to return to your resort.
Melia Cayo Coco: Melia Cayo Coco
It was good to get back to the resort although our flight was 3 hours late. Arrival time about 1:00 at night. It was very quiet with only a couple of people milling around. Being a return guest we did a room request which we did not receive. It was very clean but the bathroom needs an update. Daily maid service was great. She always did a great job. Can not remember her name but she was very, very nice. Did not get our rum for being return and not given an invitation for returning guest get toge [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Beautiful Resort
Very nice hotel , the Family Concierge was very neat , the staff very friendly, the service was great ! The beach beautiful the food on the buffet was good , the snack bar was always short of pizzas or ketchup ... the staff very nice
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Decent resort
Main lobby was very nice. Room was nice also. Ceiling could use fresh paint. The washroom was out dated. Faucets were rusted. The beach was fantastic. Sand was powder. Water did not have a lot of seaweed Ala carts were the best meals I had at this restaurant. I found majority of the staff rude. And, when I spoke to other guests, they agreed. I found that the catered to Caucasian guests first, and then the rest of the guests after. Trying to get coffee in the main dining room was interes [... read more]
