Sol Varadero Beach: Wonderful week away!

We have travelled to Cuba many times, probably 18 in total. It's been a number of years since we were in the Varadero area. The beach is AMAZING!!!! You can't go wrong when it comes to Varadero beaches. The hotel itself has done an outstanding job fixing up and renovating the grounds, they are extremely clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and always willing to assist. The one downfall in our opinion would be the food. Very hit or miss and not very much selection at a [... read more]ll. The drinks were wonderful and had plenty to choose from.

Sol Varadero Beach: Ok resort

Sol all inclusive Well all we can say about this resort ,it's not up to its standards First A/C.... was kept at 24, we called it in no one came, the front desk said they went, so we left it .2nd the first day we checked in , got to the room the whole room stunk, the pillows , sheets , curtains .etc etc we told our guide about it , he went to tell the front desk , not sure if they did anything....entertainment was held late after9pm. No entertainment during the day , like other resorts we have  [... read more]been, sat we get there 1 other restaurant was open till maybe tuesday/Wednesday the other days just the same menu buffet. They should put caution signs everywhere that's wet floors ...other then this which I need more space ...ITS OKAY RESORT

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Loved the resort!!

The resort was beautiful, the rooms large and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and happy to be of your service. The beach is beautiful and the sea water is clean, clear and warm. There are lovely palapas with loungers to keep you on the shade and the pool is enormous and clean with lots of loungers. The food is good with many options to chose from. The specialty restaurants were lovely and the food was very good. I would definitely return to this resort.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Terribly Disappointing!

Not a newcomer to travelling in Cuba but bewildered by this last trip and the poor service received at this resort. The room we checked into was one I would have never have stayed at back home (too much to write about with limited characters). Disgusting! The food at each and every meal was extremely disappointing and what was the most troublesome was the lack of caring & pride of service from the workers here. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Would recommend this hotel

Sanctuary at Grand Memories is nestled in a quite corner of the Grand Sanctuary Resort. Although we had full access to the entire complex, we barely strayed from Sanctuary. Everything you need is there , especially if you enjoy a much more subdued environment. The rooms were very nice and there was ample hot water and pressure. I was pleasantly surprised to have very good wifi. The private beach was not crowded and the water was so warm in May. Staff at Sanctuary paid strict attention to mask wearing protocol. You could still see them smile dispite the mask🤗 Guests were almost entirely Canadian with a smattering of Brits and Europeans . Guests had a more casual attitude towards mask wearing . Each room was assigned a "Butler" These young men were very attentive and booked all of your restaurant meals and arranged excursions or drivers.. They did this and more without ever being a bother .I would highly recommend Sanctuary for those who enjoy a quieter environment .

Memories Jibacoa: Another great stay

A solid 4 star resort. The main draw for us here is the reef to snorkel on. Never fails to impress. The resort was well run and they are coping well with shortages in Cuba. Food was plentiful and COVID protocols were strictly adhered to. Buffet is open but the tables are roped off about 3 feet so you point and they put the food on your plate. Not sure if I ate more or less because of it 😊. This was our 4th visit and and 5th may be in the future for us at some point.

Memories Jibacoa: Great Vacation!

We stayed at Memories Jibacoa April 25-May 1. This was our 4th stay and we were not disappointed. The resort is lovely and the staff are great. We did lots of snorkelling and enjoyed relaxing on the beach. The hotel and staff take Covid precautions seriously, which we really appreciated. Masks are required in common areas and are worn by all staff. The food is good and we were able to eat every meal outside, which we really enjoyed. We opted for Diamond Club, which was worth the extra cost. The  [... read more]room was comfortable and we had a fabulous ocean view. We highly recommend Memories Jibacoa for a relaxing vacation.

The hotel complex is older, but kept very clean, Staff were all very friendly and Betty our room lady looked after us very well. We were very lucky to have her. We had a ground floor bungalow and it is well worth it. Food, well, adequate is all I can say. Beach was beautiful, and water very very clean and crystal clear. We would return

Blau Varadero: Really nice resort

We were upgreaded to the ocean view room, we had a beautiful view of the pool, grounds and oceon. Resort has been well kept. Staff are very friendly. The food and drinks were fair. We always found something to eat and drink. There is no longer the Tourist peso, for tiping they now prefer canadian dollars, no coins!

Hi Martine thanks for your help! Everything was good ; the resort; was nose and clean , food was good the people are nice and friendly , beach is outstanding . We would go back again and would recommend this place to v everyone. The flight WESTJET was good; on time and really friendly staff. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort

We had a great time. Masks were mandatory in the buffet area and all servers wore a mask. It was very clean despite a water break that they worked on all night and rectified. I only wish I had known about the CUC no longer being accepted. I realize that it’s not the hotel’s fault but it left me with less tipping money. The staff was excellent.

Memories Jibacoa: Beautiful resort

We just spent a week at this resort- I was appreciative of the protocols in place to keep everyone safe. The cleanliness and on-site staff was abundant. Very relaxing atmosphere- not a place to go if you want to venture out and do stuff like horse back riding etc.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Nice family resort, but missing some amenities due to low occupancy.

We had a great time staying at this resort as a family with 2 kids (2 and 4 years old). A few things weren't ideal. 1) Timing of meals. The lunch buffet started at 1 pm and dinner at 7 pm. Restaurant that normally opens at 11 am by kid pool was closed so the only place to get lunch before 1 pm was the snack bar at the adult pool which had very limited options. It's a bit of a walk from the room to the beach. We really liked the bunk beds in the family room and the proximity to the kid pool, but for some families it may be more convenient to get a regular room closer to the beach. It's easy to take a stroller to the kid pool. It's more challenging to take a stroller to the beach. We really liked the kid pool with water slides. The resort was not busy at all so it was easy to get shady spots on the beach and by the pool. The staff were all incredibly friendly.

Blau Varadero: Nice resort

Nice resort. Overall well maintained. Some improvement may be needed (water in the washrooms by the pool) . Staff were friendly. Providing wifi without the use of short term voucher (a hassle) can improve a more pleasant stay. Staff used masks and guests were obliged to use the mask in restaurants.

I recently spent 10 days at this resort. The Blau is a beach front Varadero resort, pleasant grounds, spacious pool (but the jets were not working), the beach is long with white sand ( most days were windy and the flag was yellow). The room I stayed in was upgraded as part of the "Select Concept" with ocean view balcony, comfortable king size bed, hot water pressure fine, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and mini fridge. Ingredients rarely looked fresh and often the buffet looked much recycled from one day to the next. Dinner at the A la carte restaurant was a bit better, you could only eat there if you had purchased the " Select". Then again, it would be only 3 times per week, not every day. The wines were good. The drinks at the various bars were passable and the "Chill out Bar " was disappointing. Could not enjoy a decently prepared pina colada. The staff were courteous and most were attentive and good at their job. All in all, I found the Blau did not live up to my expectations, and I believe I will not return to this resort. I had purchased the "Select" but 50% of the advertised items were not offered. When I enquired as to why this was the case I could not get clear answers - a reflection on poor hotel management.

Paradisus Varadero: Fantastic resort

The resort has a fantastic ocean view dinners and beautiful walks. One of the best lobby in lobby Bar that ever been to.The rooms were newly renovated comfortable beds.Lots of food options. Staff and people all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely book again and would recommend.

Blau Varadero: Great vacation!!!

Hola!!! My wife and I had a great time in Blau Varadero and would highly recommend to anyone. We are planning to go again next year. Staff are very friendly and polite, there’s always lounge chairs at the pool and beach no matter what time of the day. We enjoyed the pina caladas, mojitos and cappuccinos 😜

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Awesome Resort

Just got back on May7th.Check in was easy and fast. Our room was ready which was great so we didn’t have to worry about keeping our luggage somewhere. We were in room 4111 which was a very short walk to the pool as well as the privledge restauant. We were on the bottom floor and had two double beds. The bed was comfortable [... read more] and we slept well. The shower stall was spacious, the water pressure was fantastic. We had hot water every day except one and had fresh towels daily. The bathtub was huge. The air conditioning worked really well. The woman who cleaned our room, Yamile, was wonderful. She always had a smile and a kind word. This was our second time at this resort and privledge is definitely worth the upgrade! However, be prepared to get lots of mosquito bites and flies are quite abundent in the priv restaurant. The shows were entertaining but not unmissable. This could use some improvement. Lobby also had entertainment after show. The beach is amazing here and lots of activities to keep you entertained. Wifi was free but you have to go to main reception to add time to your wifi ticket when 3 hrs of use is up. TIP: turn wifi off when not using to conserve time. The staff is super friendly especially when tips are in your hand. All in all great spot to relax by the pool or on the beach and feel safe. No one goes to Cuba for the food but you must upgrade to privledge to eat half decent!!!

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Awesome choice!

Our agent, Carol Webber recommended Melia Peninsula varadero and I am so glad we went with it. Was better than expected. My biggest concern was the bathroom but I was relieved to find it clean, well maintained and modern. Food wasn’t the best with same food day in day out but it wasn’t bad. The hotel restaurants could do better - felt like buffet was food served at the Italian one. The Japanese one was a good experience but the food was blah - we ended up at the buffet after. Serious faces with an attitude are not warm and welcoming.
