Memories Jibacoa: Reefs a delight

We had a great time in the water checking out the fish that were near shore and walk in scuba dives at a good price. Although the beach wasn't comparable as in Varadero due to the coral, for the most part it did not inhibit us from wading in it waist height until the start of the coral. Covid wise all the staff were super masked yet accommodating for most of the resort (except the buffet area) for clients, that is until you sat down to eat. PS be sure not to leave any things around that might be misinterpreted as a gift/ tip to staff as a few things were picked up by them and it's hard to ask for it again, especially if you only notice it after a few days. A guided sail, and outdoor yoga to start the day was a welcomed and relaxing daily event. Also as an adult resort only was nice

Grand Memories Varadero: Great people, rooms need lots of love!

The Grand Memories Varadero resort offered beautiful grounds and great staff. However, the rooms ( though relatively clean) were in rough repair. Holes in the drywall, cracks in the sink and tiles, etc. We were also welcomed to a toilet that wouldn’t flush. Plus our balcony featured a sliding glass door that was literally falling apart at the seams. The pandemic has been tough on Cuba and this resort bears those scars. For adult only travelers, others raved about how lovely their food and accommodations were at the adjacent Sanctuary by Grand Memories. Food was hit and miss ( as it can be in Cuba) but we never went hungry. Beach was beautiful! Locals preferred tips in $CDN…so don’t exchange too much into the local currency. We exchanged $100, by still had lots leftover. Locals are paying upwards of 70 Cuban Pesos (CUP) for every dollar Canadian. Entertainment team worked hard and the shows were great! The best Mojito could be found in the lobby bar, but beware wine was only available in the a la cartes. Food supply chain was challenging on the island … but the restaurants all had amazing bread…and often you could even find condiments like Heinz ketchup, HP Sauce or mustard! Taking a big old-fashioned convertible cab into Varadero for dinner was so fun! Varadero 60 Restaurant was delicious!

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Great resort, amazing staff

Overall, the resort was great as masks were used by staff everywhere. Buffet was changed in that the staff was responsible for serving guests at the various stations to avoid multiple contact with serving utensils. Eventhough we were told the hotel was fully booked we never felt crowded at the beach or by the pool. The staff were very friendly and did what they could to accommodate guests.

Memories Jibacoa: Perfect Paradise

After visiting many different locations in Cuba over the years, I'd have to say this resort was top notch in many ways. Location, scenery, grounds, amenities, staff, entertainment were all exceptional.

Playa Vista Azul: Fantastic Resort

This resort was amazing, the staff were very friendly, bar tenders were great especially alexander and entertainment staff was incredible especially Lulu, Ivon and Gus. As well as the snack bar guy with the glasses.

Sol Palmeras: Return Visit Met Expectations

2nd time at Sol Palmeras. Food was excellent as before - especially the Chinese Restaurant. Lots of beautiful beach with plenty of palapas. Service was spectacular. Their bungalows are a hidden gem.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort and beach

This resort was great. They are still taking steps to protect you from covid. All employees wear masks right down to the grounds keepers.You also have to wear your mask in the restaurants Food was good even though there were some things they just couldn't get. Al carte restaurants were excellent. Beach was also great and water was warm. Enjoyed very much

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Friendly and Fabulous resort!!!

Our stay was so wonderful! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We felt so safe with COVID restrictions in place by all staff wearing face coverings and placing guests apart in dinning and suites Loved the beach and the warm ocean waves!!! Great relaxing holiday!!!

Sol Palmeras: amazing resort

My fiancé and I found this to be an amazing resort. I was very big, lots to do. The beach was endless beautiful white sand, lots of recliners in excellent condition and not crowded. The pool was great and again lots of recliners and space. The bars on the beach and pool, lobbies and everywhere had lots of friendly staff. The buffet was large and plenty of different foods available, BTW the food was GREAT considering it usually isn't that good in Cuba. It was my fiancé's Birthday at which I proposed to her in the Latin a-la-carte restaurant The staff helped me pre arrange the flowers, special dinner, champagne and videoed the proposal for us. They went out of their way to make it a special night for us and I can't thank them enough. pretty much all of the staff spoke good English and were absolutely wonderful and friendly. The bungalow we had was very clean and well kept as well as comfortable. There was plenty of things to do and entertainment every day. In short I can not say enough good things about this resort . would I go back again... ABSOLOUTLY IN A HEARTBEAT !!!!! Also a special thanks to Tammy Beamish for helping me again to book this, your the best. !!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Disappointing

I don't understand how this is rated so high. It was not a great experience going there for a full week. - food options limited, bland and disappointing - drinks were fine but alcohol was watered down - rooms were dated, we had 2 rooms but A/C only worked in one - cockroach found in one room - service was very spotting. Our room service did the best to keep the dated rooms clean, some of the servers at the restaurant were fantastic. Otherwise if you didn't speak Spanish you were left to f [... read more]end for yourself We spoked with 3 couples that were there from Canada as well, no one said they would return and all echoed our previous complaints. Would not go back and don't waste your money.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great location

The hotel needs updating but the location and people are great. Food was better then some cuba resorts we have been at. The grounds are clean and the beach is amazing. Rooms definitely need to be renovated but did not spoil our trip after all we were only in our room to sleep. Overall I would recommend this resort but keep in mind this is Cuba not Dominican or Mexico. Thank you to everyone who made our stay enjoyable.

Grand Memories Varadero: Okay-ish resort

Was nice to get away, that being said resort ran out of many things such as :beer,wine, cola,hamburgers, beef, fries,toilet paper. Service was lackluster for the most part, a few bar tenders and servers were great others not so much. Resort was clean, but no toilet paper or toilet seats in the restrooms.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Awesome

What can I say, if you are looking for an adult only vacations, this is it. Private beach, food was excellent, pool, butler, etc…Loved it, recommend it and would go back again. The staff was so friendly and so helpful.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Ok resort

The front desk were helpful in getting us a phone the safe fixed the TV fixed and we finally got some warm water. I would not go back due to the difference in treatment, if you spoke Spanish. The tourists would line up for food or braverages , and would mostly tip. But then someone speaking Spanish would start there own line on the other side of the server ,and be served first. The only place I did not see this was in the main building. And I never seen any of them tip. Why would I go ba [... read more]ck to be treat as 2nd class. Melia Internacional: Beautiful new hotel

Great hotel, would give it another chance after life is back to normal . Hotel has potential to have better food and entertainment but kept everything at a minimum due to COVID. Gorgeous beach. Carribean restaurant has the best food and service. The Japanese restaurant was very disappointing. Bartenders were great. Buffet was ok, variety was limited. 24 snack bar was extremely disappointing. Beach and new hotel made up for the lack of everything else.

Sol Palmeras: Disappointing

My 3rd and last time at Sol Palermos. In fact I am done with Cuba. I have been to Cuba over 30 times and the last couple of times I have not been happy. The resort was full of Cubans and to say they are rude is an understatement. They have no regard for anyone other their own people. They take over the pool, bar and restaurant. We pay good money to go to Cuba but they get waited on before anyone else. I spoke with other people at the airport who were at different resorts and they all had the sam [... read more]e complaints. So done with Cuba and I would not recommend anyone going to this country or resort. Waste of my money.

Hotel Bella Costa: Miserable experience

First time in a Iberostar resort who didn’t pay attention to the needs of the clients. From no towels in the room from first day to the 5 day. Most of the days had to have my key reprogram several times. The constant lies from costumer relations managers saying they go fix and never happened. No phone on my third room. The comments on Spanish about me was not pleasant. Only stopped when they realize I was aware what they was saying. Blau Varadero: Return to my second home

It was my 13th times at the Blau Varadero and it was, like usual, excellent! The staff knows my name and they are like family. They know my preferences. I would like to try other resorts but why should I change a place I love? And I would be probably disappointed because at the Blau, I receive many things I wouldn’t have somewhere else.

Memories Jibacoa: Amazing Resort

We have been to this resort 9 times. This was our first time back since covid started. The resort was in great shape beautiful gardens and a number of upgrades tile by the stage, painting through out the resort room improvements. Food was very good I was suprised considering how difficult things have been in Cuba. The staff as always were amazing and it was wonderful to see so many friends. Great vacation and look forward to our next trip back to Jibacoa.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Disappointing esp. communication

I have been to Cuba many times. I know what to expect. The people are friendly, the food is OK and the rum is plentiful. This place was recommended by my new Trip Central booking agent. He said it was 20 minutes from the airport.. We were be the first to be dropped off and it took 45 minutes. It started with arriving and the room wasn’t ready. We were told to come back at three and double check but in the end it was a hard no, check-in is at four. But there were no bellboys when we finally go [... read more]t checked in and all they handed us was our key card in an envelope that had our room number on it. Internet was not available till 7 PM when you were in your room so we had no idea where to go, (they told us to look on their website) where the bars were, where the food was, and hours of everything. It continued to be like this the entire week we were there. People had no idea because there was no communication. But we got to meet in a lot of people because everybody was asking where everything was the hours of everything and how to get things done. Even our Air Canada on site agent got the times of things wrong. The first two days, there was no milk for your coffee, there was no red wine the entire time and no gin for our friends for the first four days. It would be helpful to have a big board, chalkboard or whiteboard, in the reception area that would tell you all this information. We were told that due to Covid they didn’t want to touch the paper because it transmitted the disease but nobody wore gloves. A map that was accessible and visual would also would have been good so we would know where things were. On the plus side, the resort was immaculate, we had toilet paper and people were so friendly. Coffee in the bar is the best! Cuba has nothing so bring tons of everything including your old clothes, toiletries, stuff for kids and Canadian money. They can only go to the bank with $20 bills from Canada but staff will ask you to change their money or Canadian money to do this. Unfortunately not going back to this place again
