Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Amazing Resort

This resort was simply amazing. It was clean, food was great and the employees were wonderful , very friendly. Our room was an upgrade from the Golf side to the beach side and it was a lovely room. The a'la carte restaurants were good, but a little hard to get into. Most of them only had late times available. I would go back to this resort in a heart beat. The pool was clean, and the beach was clean although there was a bit more seaweed then I would like , but at least you could still s [... read more]wim in the ocean.

Barcelo Huatulco: Great resort

Barcelo is a great resort. Spacious clean modern rooms. Beautiful views from upper floor rooms and grounds. Beach and pools were fantastic for all ages. Had a lovely family vacation. incredible weather and hospitality in local towns.

Barcelo Huatulco: Amazing vacation!

This was an amazing vacation! We had amazing service in this beautiful resort. Although not Sunwings fault for the delay on the trip home- super annoying and made for a long day. They did a great job with our restlessness :). Super customer service. All in all would highly recommend.

Barcelo Huatulco: Fantastic resort!!

Couldn’t say enough wonderful things about this resort and of course the area of Huatulco is one of the nicest areas we have been too in Mexico. Food was fantastic, many choices, buffet changed up every night. Oscar our pool drinks guy was the best! Made sure we were never thirsty. Resort was perfect size, rooms were nice and clean. Beach was beautiful, a bit of an undertow to be careful with young kids. Lots of activities for young and old. Very close to downtown and safe. Would retu [... read more]rn to this hotel in a heartbeat. On that note, there were many people at this hotel who had been there 3-4 times already, which speaks volumes. The only issue was the no free wifi anywhere in the resort, seems very odd. But we will return for sure!!!

Barcelo Maya Palace: Had a fantastic time at an amazing resort!!

The grounds were so clean and beautiful!! The staff was pleasent and very helpful!! Was nice that we had access to all of the resorts on the strip and went from one to the other and so on. The food was great at all the buffets and the a la carte restaurants we excellent!!! The rooms were spacious and welcoming

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Okay resort

Hotel is older. Rooms not so nice. Mold in the shower. Was eating in one restaurant looked over and saw a roach. I’m not a very picky person when it come to the hotels but this place was not so nice.

Allegro Playacar: Beautiful Resort!

This resort is pristine! The rooms, grounds, pools, restaurants, etc are impeccably clean and exceptionally well kept. Allegro Playacar is a small resort which allows you the opportunity to get to know the staff and meet many returning visitors. The large pool abuts the beach and the beach is beautiful! It's very long and great for walking... 20 min to Town. Always something to do if you want activity. Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Best resort experience -

We were 2 couples, and the hubby's had one thing on their mind..... GOLF! The boys golfed everyday while the ladies lounged on the fabulous beach or at the beautiful pools. Every room had a hot tub on the balcony and a beautiful view of the ocean. The food, premium liquor and happy attentive staff made this such a fun trip we are already planning to come back next year. The Barcelo Bavaro Palace was everything we were looking for. It was clean, the beach was long, the sun shone and people were friendly! The only down sides were the wind which was pretty much constant, and the food which was never really hot. We loved being able to walk for miles on the beach although being fair skinned and not so good about using sunscreen I really did wish for more shade or shaded areas. Occidental Punta Cana: Outstanding resort

The occidental was a clean,well maintained grounds,excellent buffet,Mexican,Steak House and Oriental Dining was superb.The only complaint I have was the first day registration and getting keys to our room could be more efficient a lot of time wasted.I would recommend this resort to any traveller and return for a second time if I had the opportunity.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Fantastic Resort

The hotel is a five star resort,,, the grounds were beautiful, the beach beautiful and we'll maintained . Always enough chairs ,, with plenty to do ... The device was second to none . The buffet was fantastic with a large variety of food , Alacarts were also great .. Finally the service was second to none and always with a smile . I have been to this resort twice and will definitely go back again

Palma Real: Fantastic

All around fantastic place. It was my frist time in Cuba! Great hostipailty, food was also great. I would deffentally consider staying here again, and would encourage others to stay there as well. The entertainment Was Great. The only disappointing thing was that the disco was closed for renos. I would Hope It is open next time if I was to go. Thanks for help making the frist time in Cuba to be a one to remember.

Occidental Cozumel: Great Resort

We had a great vacation at Occidental Mexico in Cozemel, great food, Rooms were very clean and so were the grounds. All Staff were pleasant and very helpful if needed. We did catch a show after dinner and it was great aswell. We would recommend this resort and would happy to stay there again. Beach was clean and loved the snorkeling right on the beach. We rented a car and toured the island which was amazing and beautiful aswell. Thank you. Mark and Bonnie Convey

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Nice resort

We stayed at the Adults Only side, and the rooms are tired looking, but functional. The beach is very nice, and it was easy to find lounge chairs in the morning. We found the buffets to be very typical, but the A la cartes were amazing! It was very easy to get reservations at these restaurants and the food was outstanding. Our big complaint was getting through the airport at Punta Cana. 2 hour queues to get in, and 2 hour to leave. We weren't aware of the $20 US tax per person to leave, s [... read more]o we scrambled to get the money. I believe our Sunwing Rep should have made us aware of this fee.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Amazing trip BUT...BED BUGS!!!

Our family was having an amazing vacation until we were talking to others at the resort that kept waking up covered in unexplained bites. Asked the Air Transat rep and he confirmed the resort has a bed bugs problem and advised to sleep with bug spray on. We were terrified that we could bring something home in our luggage so we stopped to have our bags checked by a bed bug sniffing dog (Patches from Winnipegdog.ca) and found out there was something in one of our bags. Had to throw out the suitcas [... read more]e but it could’ve been a whole lot worse. The resort itself was great but having bed bugs is completely unacceptable for a 5 star resort! Stay away!

Occidental Cozumel: Want to go back!

Great beach, super easy snorkel spot, comfy beautiful rooms (Royal club), entertainment above and beyond big resorts, small population - friendlier crowd!, Albertos next door - party time! Snorkeling expeditions need less swimming, more looking. Good service - but the hotel timeshare hounds got to become more scarce - annoying. Food was good quality, maybe needed more variety in the buffets - NO TAMALES!!! Boo. Wanted more varieties of fish - not just one mushy one. Wanted more deep/local Mexica [... read more]n dishes.Coffee and wine were good. Olive restaurant - needs to make a better looking steak - Seafood restaurant at night - terrible.... Best food quality and service was at the Royal restaurant. LOVE scootering around the island. Super safe.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Great Week of Sun and Fun!

We spent 7 days in Paradise at the Occidental Costa Cancun from February 24th to March 3rd. The flight with Transat was smooth and we arrived with no issues. Transfer was a bit confusing but it all got figured out quickly. Staff at the resort was wonderful and we were made to feel very welcome. Food was good and drinks even better. It is a smaller resort and not in an area of Cancun that is close to downtown or the hotel zone. We were going for R&R and just fun and that's what we got. Barcelo Solymar: Resort needs some TLC.

Third visit to Cuba because I love it! The beach and water are the best. First time at the Solymar. A pleasant resort but lots of TLC needed on the grounds and the pool areas. If you're a "foodie" or like a variety of tropical cocktails you will likely be disappointed. Main dining room fine but table tops and placemats were dirty.... not cleaned behind each guest. Trouble getting towels in the room.... not extra towels, just towels! I wouldn't revisit this particular resort but will definite [... read more]ly visit Cuba again.

Barcelo Solymar: Great Location

Over all, there were positives and negatives during this vacation. We travelled with a group of 5 people and most of us were sick with diarrhea and one with vomiting diarrhea lasting a good 24hrs. The one traveller took ciproflox (antibiotic) the entire time and was fine. The buffet was the same everyday and the a la carte restaurants were not the best. On a positive note, the location was amazing allowing us to go to restaurants that were a 5 minute walk from our resort that were clean and food [... read more] was delicious(steakhouse and seafood) and reasonably priced(12-30 pesos). We met friends that brought a bottle of wine at dinner that cost 5 pesos to open but was well worth it. They had the Beatles bar nearly a 5 minute walk that had an awesome atmosphere that felt safe and had live music that everyone enjoyed (2peso/beer). This bar starts at 930 and ends at around 12. There is also Callo 62 that had upbeat music and is a party atmosphere that we enjoyed. As a side note you should always bring toilet paper because there is not much out there. Last there was La Compasita that was the replacement for the Havana Bar now that it is closed and has mostly Cuban people. This bar is packed and has great music and is a 10$ cover all you can drink however the line to get to a bartender is outrageous. The Cave my friends liked but I was sick that night (**bring a lot of Imodium). We spent most of our time on the beach the water and weather was amazing. Don’t miss out on the beach BBQ at lunch it saved us. The pool entertainment was the same everyday (boring) and no swim up bars. Last don’t forget to try a Cuban Coffee at the main lobby bar before you leave.
