Paradisus Rio De Oro: Truly a 5 star experience
We booked Royal Service and the "Royal" experience starts the minute you exit the airport, you have your own private car waiting, and after a long flight, just that one small detail makes it worth it. The hotel itself is great, and everyone on staff really will do all they can to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are very spacious with a walkin closet and the best and biggest outdoor shower ever. Your butler will make all your reservations at the a la carte restaurants for you, as well as mak [... read more]
Melia Varadero: Melia varedaro review
Hotel is very efficient. Great check in/ out, food services, etc... Good location. Beach beautiful and clean. Only disappointment was the rooms. Very dated, old blankets, washrooms, and balcony (door didn't;t work )... Felt like need a big overhaul
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice Resort
The grounds were very nice and clean. The layout of the resort was very nice with the restaurants and bars were close together. The rooms ok. We only got clean towels once. The beach is beautiful and water was amazing. Downside would be, there was not enough places to sit in the evening. Lobby bar always full and hard to find a seat for entertainment. Staff not friendly as we are used to at other resorts. I would recommend to friends but would consider this more of a 4 star than a 5.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: First trip to Cuba
This was a first trip to Cuba, we visited April 4, 2019 for 1 week with family. The room was nice and clean and we did not have issues other than did not always get a good supply of towels and had to ask for extra water. I found the service very slow and the food was not the best and ALWAYS cold. I feel the buffet could be better organized as line ups waiting for food and a lot of people standing around waiting for a hamburger. When you have an issue at the front desk they send you downstairs [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Truly a dream vacation!
Our two weeks at Melia Cayo Coco were just as we hoped starting with the great service and advice from Trip Central and Debbie Maguire. The Melia resort is a great example of how a place should be run. The grounds are so well taken care of by all the gardeners and maintenance personnel. Room service and housekeeping is at the top of its class. People were constantly cleaning, sweeping, and wiping down everything all over the resort. The buffet and a la cartes were of the best quality food-w [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: "ok"
It was nice to get away with my wife. I would have rather spent more money and gone somewhere else. No need for me to comment, just read through trip advisor. A lot of the negative ones are spot on. Resort is a 3 Star in a global context. Maybe a 4 for Cuba, not their fault. Economically they are getting the shaft and it shows.
Melia Las Americas: Excellent option in Varadero!
As a seasoned traveller to various areas of Cuba, I found the grounds of the Melia Las Americas beautiful and very well kept. The buffet as well as the 3 alacartes I experienced were all quite good. The service overall was as expected, attentive and cheerful staff. The beach was clean, plenty of loungers and umbrellas so no need to rush in the morning (huge perk). The easy access to the market next door, Varadero town, and Havana excursion were bonuses. Overall, an awesome experience at a great [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Best Place Ever!
Just returned home April 13 after spending 7 nights at Melia Cayo Santa Maria. It was WONDERFUL! Beautiful beaches, pool area, restaurants and cafes. My room was perfect. The service including housekeeping was beyond my expectations. I can't remember my housekeeper's name but I was in room 2421. A big thank you and recognition to Louie and Alfredo (poolside staff), Osbiel and Yosvany at the pool and beach bars, Yoseet and Juan Carlos in the cigar lounge. Thank you for the BEST experience eve [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Extremely disappointing!
We were under the impression we were booking a 4.5 stars resort. This resort is a far cry from that. It is barely a 3. Restaurants were continuously running out of items from their menu ( down to butter for your bread and orange juice for breakfast and so on). And what was served was either very bland, over cooked ( charred lobster tails) and most of the time cold. Our rooms were musty smelling ant the patio door did not lock...we were on the ground floor. There was not enough chairs at the poo [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Very disappointing
The food, the service and the attitude of the employees is terrible. Many things were broken (shower head, patio door didn’t lock...) Many food items from menus were unavailable. Lots of cross contamination in buffet ie: same spoon for many dishes, no serving utensils for tomatoes and lettuce so people used their hands. Employees seldomly smiled and seemed offended when we complained about the service. Restaurant service was extremely slow ( 45 minutes for a sandwich) . They seemed to be under [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Beautiful beach!
Great resort. We requested a room on the Luna side, which is quiet. Our room was in building 6. Down the stairs and around the pool was the 24 hour snack bar where I picked up a cappuccino every morning. The snack bar also served breakfast. The menu included eggs, bacon toast and pastries. The service was excellent. The beach was beautiful. Only 2 resorts on this beach.Great snorkeling...if you walk up to the other resort you can drift down the beach along the reef to the Luna. Lots of fish t [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: 15th Anniversary
Disappointed! We’ve been in Cuba 4times and we always stayed 3 to 4 star resort overall we don’t have any issues we always been a happy campers. But since my husband and I celebrated our 15th anniversary we decided to pick 5 star resort for change so we have high expectation but turned out into a big disappointment. First of all, front desk are not so informative., lack of direction. NO bellboy to assess us, NO elevator access on anywhere. Buffet service was okay. Grill section always long [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Very beautiful resort
The staff was so pleasant very helpful. The beach was amazing. The colour of the water amazing The staff at the pool bar were the best. The pool was kept up very well. The rooms were clean and nice. A lot of hot water. Thank god!! The food was ok. The grill was very good. We ate there for lunch. The omelette and crepes were awesome. I ate that every morning. A thank you goes out to all the hard working people there. One thing I would like say. Please tip the staff Don’t be cheap!!!
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Wonderful atmosphere!
We had a wonderful time at PPDM! The service was great, the food was high quality, and the resort itself was stunning. Would definitely recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back in the future! Luis David and Alejandro from the Piano bar were excellent servers and made our stay even better. Thanks for a wonderful vacation! Rachel Cvecich and Andrew Hendry
Melia Marina Varadero: Interesting resort
Some grounds painted and kept up. Being a newer resort , it was very run down. Missing a phone in room, safe not working, light bulb missing in room, and most funny toilet seat too small for the toilet. Food was fair, restaurant not recommended. Tours to the city of habana and veradero was awesome.
Melia Las Antillas: Great value!
Have to admit we had a bit of a rocky start. The man at the front desk was not friendly when we checked in, the room was very outdated and worn (especially the bathroom) and because of the later hour our first meal at the buffet was cold, tasteless and mushy. All subsequent meals at the buffet were much improved, good service and the omelette stations at breakfast were great. The a la carte restaurants were okay, nice atmosphere at all of them and very good service. We ended up having a wond [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Mediocre resort
Grounds were well taken care of. Rooms were large enough but lacking facecloth, paper, pen, water. Cleanliness was satisfactory. Food was barely satisfactory; many food items not available, even when offered on the menu. Pool area had very limited number of chairs. Outdoor entertainment was very good.
Melia Marina Varadero: Beau resort!!
Paradisus Los Cayos: Great resort
The hotel was very nice - it was just opened in December I believe so everything was very new and clean and modern. We stayed on the adults only side which was very nice. Only downside was because it was so new there seemed to be some miss communication/lack of understading between staff of what was going on at times - for example the front desk at adults only always sent us over to the front desk on the family side as they did not know how to answer our questions - and on the morning we were le [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: terrible resort
this was definately not a 5 star resort as advertised, service was terrible, we have been to cuba 7 times I n the last 12 years, and had great service but not at this resort, they only stocked the roomfridge if you put money in the fridge, coffee maker in the room; but they do nt supply coffee, we talked to several people who wont go back , it was advertised with 2 hot tubs, neither worked at all the whole week, they ran out of food every day at the 24 hour restaurant, buffet was the same every [... read more]
