Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: great getaway

The grounds and the staff were very welcoming and beautiful. The pool was quite big and lively, but not too crazy with party goers. the Beach is not crystal blue water, it is a bit darker, but beautiful regardless, we went right after a storm, so the beach was closed for 2 days because of immense amts of seaweed, but the staff wroked around the clock to remove it and they did. Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: So family friendly!

Overall a great experience but of course there are some pros and cons Pros: 1) Family friendly, everything from where the family rooms are located , elevators everywhere, a path that's shaded to get your little one out of direct sun, a kiddie pool, lazy river and splash pad, kids menu, high chairs , elevators, mini club and activities 2)the property is just beautiful, tastefully decorated and they even have that spa smell 3) Some staff really go above and beyond, Rubin and Wendy at the bea [... read more]ch Bar, Carlos at the lobby bar, Jose at front desk/lost and found was a life saver ! Johanna at the splash pad was like a big sister to our son, Photography crew, animation crew, can't say enough good things about all of them. Cons 1) Definitely not a party resort, so if you want that vibe you'd have to go out or stay elsewhere 2) The beach is not really good for swimming, lots of seaweed and despite their best efforts to clean it out some days the water was almost black in colour from all the seaweed and rocks coming up to shore so not great for a beach lover unless you go out on excursions 3) The food and service is inconsistent. You're not likely to get a drink the same way from two different bartender so follow the person who makes it the way you like it. Some days the same dishes at the buffet were overly salty or overcooked. It all depends on who you land on. And some staff were border line rude.Twice within the week I had to call to ask them to clean our room...etc. 4) it's first come first serve for à la carte restaurant. It's nice that you can just walk in but with a baby we didn't have the luxury of time to be on a waitlist . The only one you can reserve is tappiniyaki and we did enjoy that one Other relevant information 1) the air Canada experience and the transfer to and from the hotel were a nightmare . Sunwing seemed to be the better option in comparison 2) I couldn't get an answer in time on whether I can get a crib in the room or not so I had to pack mine, I had emailed the hotel and our rep here a few days before we left but didn't hear back

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Won't go back

Staff were very unfriendly and rude We would ask the main lobby for an americano, they would tell us to use the machine. we waited an hour for the coffee machine to work because it was empty and still wouldn't make us a coffee with the machine at the bar. Cockroaches were all over the room enterainment was minimal and not good. bars would stop taking orders before 11pm

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great resort

The grounds are great, the facilities excellent especially the lazy river, the room was clean but the beach was covered with sea weeds which was not great. The service in the dinning room was very poor most of the time. Michael was the only person that provided excellent service but we did not get him at all times. At times it was wait time to get into the dining room and conclude the dining room was not large enough to accommodate the amount of people. Overall the facility was great.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort

Second trip to the Ambar and it's totally awesome here. The one negative thing I can say about my recent trip was a lack of service staff at the Sports Bar. This is a popular hangout but this time there were only 2 waitresses to serve the whole bar. We had to leave, twice, because our waitress never came back with our drink order. Other than that, 5 stars for absolutely everything else. Will definitely be returning.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Save your money and go somewhere else

I paid $1788 cad a person which I find is overpriced big time for this hotel. One room was great but the other was terrible. Broken toilet seat, shower head, and shower door. Air conditioning was leaking water on the floor daily. Service: not great. Took them 3 days to bring me toothpaste as I forgot mine. First 3 days we could hardly get coffee and water served for breakfast. Very slow service - got better by day 4. Drinks were good. Beach was terrible. HUGE amounts of seaweed that they just gr [... read more]ind it down- they don’t pick it up but this is an issue in the ocean so I would avoid the Atlantic Ocean resorts. We love the beach but only went 2 days. Pools could of been cleaner. Water was hot buy 1:00 pm as it was really hot. 42 degrees with humidity. Plenty of chairs and towels. Food was very good. I have severe allergies and the head chef would take me to explain what each item had inside the food. I did stay away from the areas that had seafood ( my allergies) as people mix the spoons. Entertainment wasn’t great. The kids arcade was great. The resort is HUGE which I found too big. Be prepared to walk tons. A la carte that were great; the italian and Japanese. Steak house I didn’t like and the food only came at 9. Air conditioning needs to be improved in the buffets and restos as with the extreme heat, we were boiling hot 🥵. I have asthma and struggled with this. Check in was ridiculous. Took us 1 hour as the guy i had didn’t know what he was doing. Check out was great. The bus to and from the airport was great. Great AC. Airport was brutal. There isn’t AC everywhere and it’s a long wait. We stayed in the duty free stores till the end basically but when we had to board the plane , no AC. Long line and we were put on a bus that had no AC. I almost fainted and had an asthma attack. Bus takes you to the plane then you have to walk up a ramp into the plane. In the extreme heat, if you have health problems I highly suggest you either do VIP or have help from the airport prior to booking. I regret this as I didn’t realize this could of happened. Thank god the airplane is really cold but took me 2 hours to feel better. When I arrived home, they also stole my cigars so don’t leave any cigars in your check in luggage. I’m sure it was the airport in the Dominican Republic. Unfortunately I don’t recommend this hotel. I would not return. Also, not many people speak English so learn Spanish. I speak Spanish and still could not get the service at times. Gift shop extremely expensive. $6 usd for toothpaste, chips were 2 for $18 usd , I bought a stainless steal coffee tumbler and it was $30 usd. Bracelets were 3 for $10. Beware of the peddlers! They harass you everywhere you go especially the beach. They also start extremely high with prices then go really low when they see you won’t bite. We did 1 extersion which was good. The party boat - seascape - booked with Marcus. We paid $83 usd per person. They said high prices due to the pandemic:(. Bargain with the peddlers. We wanted to buy 3 bracelets and they asked for $80usd. Then we only took 2 of them and got for $15 usd each which it already broke . We purchased the metal ones with the blue stones. Anyway, al in all, I won’t return.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort Luxury Ambar

WHERE" to start and "HOW" to start saying THANK YOU. Also how grateful and blessed I am to have spent even a week with all of you at the BAHIA PRINCIPE in PUNTA CANA, especially at the LUXURY AMBAR. Royalton Splash Punta Cana: This is not a Royalton hotel, it is a Memories hotel, very disappointed

The buffet restaurant very hot, no air condition, poor services. On the storm rain days, we asked for umbrellas, they said they don’t have any more. We order room services, after 45 minute, they said room services is not available.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Pristine Resort

The hotel, grounds, all amenities, where, in immaculate condition. The staff were very accommodating and extremely friendly. The meals at the à la cart, restaurants, and the buffets were top-notch. it was nice to have top shelf liquor.

This gated resort jewel nestled in the heart of Punta Cana is everything you hoped a luxury resort could be. Amazing, attentive, friendly staff, clean premises, spectacular tropic setting, all accompanied with a feeling of safety and security. We highly recommend El Olivo on the Aqua Marine site as well. Our family of six stayed for 8 days. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were tidied wonderfully every day. The only disappointment we encountered was the beach. I’m not sure if it’s a year round issues, but the seaweed at the beach is other-worldly. We had to wade through 20 feet of it, a couple of feet deep, to get to the ocean. Lovely sand and lounges, huts, and cabanas, but the seaweed was atrocious. That’s the only reason we can’t give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ocean El Faro: Disappointed

Sadly my experience at Ocean El Faro did not meet my expectations. The service is slow. I received the wrong room type on arrival and had to wait until Monday evening for a room to be available. I had an terrible experience at Route 66. I ordered a burger and fries noticed my burger was under cooked and found a worm larva wiggling on my finger. I thought I was going to vomit. My App was not working for the first 2 days so I was unable to book a reservation at the restaurant. Upon arrival  [... read more]no one mentioned that everything is done using a QR Code scanner. It was so frustrating, I spoke with 6 different people trying to get my issue resolved, however they did not know how to help me. I finally threatened to file a complaint and that is when the customer service rep took action to help me get my issues resolved. Once my issues were addressed the remainder of my stay was OK. The resort is beautiful. however the service is slow and the process of booking reservations needs to be improved

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great family resort but not without issues

The resort grounds, water park, room (family room was perfect with kids), pools and buffet are great! But there are several annoyances that would keep us from rushing back. The restaurants are almost impossible to get into as there are insufficient restaurants for the size of the resort. Also the restaurants are very poorly organize/ managed. Thankfully the buffet has a large selection as an alternative. The beach cannot be seen from the resort grounds until you walk down onto the sand due to a [... read more]ll the umbrellas covering the beach. The waves are very choppy, not safe for small kids. The trolley is very handy to take you around the resort but the timing is very inconsistent, you wait anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. Lastly the staff seem unhappy. Occassionally we would come across someone providing great service but it was so rare we were surprised. Overall it was a great family vacation, but lots of opportunities for the resort to improve.

Occidental Punta Cana: Would Not Recommend

I expected to have an amazing relaxing vacation at this resort but instead was very disappointed. The food was awful and as a result made us sick. There were no options to choose from, the snack bar had uncooked hotdogs and hamburgers and crows would would be standing on the food eating it. You only get to make 3 reservations at the restaurants at the hotel. Those restaurants were not terrible but the portion size was incredibly small and didn’t satisfy. Air conditioning in our room broke 3 se [... read more]parate times and took hours to fix while we were left with it broken overnight while it was 25+ degrees. If you don’t speak spanish the staff would pretty much ignore you and be incredibly rude to you. There would be 30+ hagglers on the beach and just around the overall resort trying to sell anything to you and wouldn’t leave you alone unless you said you didn’t have money. This resort was not it and I am very upset with the outcome of this vacation. Do Not Go Here

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Great experience

We spent 7 days at Riu palace. We had an excellent experience on most fronts including:room, service (Cleaning, front desk, courtousey desk etc.). I had arranged for a parcel to be delivered . It was waiting for me upon arrival. We had to call our insurance company and see a doctor. Reina at the service desk made it seemless. The Dr actually came to pick us up from the hotel to the clinic . Bar, restaurant and entertainment staff was amazing.foor at the buffets was excellent. We had higher expe [... read more]ctations from the a la cart restaurant, so we were not impressed with the food there. (Embience and service were good, but the food was below standard). Lastly, we went in August and there was much seaweed which was only cleaned once every couple of days. All in all, I would definitely come back.

Tropical Deluxe Princess: Very comfortable and pleasant stay!

There are a lot of different interesting areas in this hotel. If you like cool cocktails - head to the lobby bar and don't forget to try "Mama Juana" drink. Pools are warm and you can relax there or have fun with animators practicing aqua aerobics. Alway book a restaurant for each evening. It's much more comfortable to eat within limited number of people, no rush and also very original menu. But there are a lot of weeds in the see in the summer and early autumn time.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Fantastic resort

This resort is incredibly spacious! We required golf carts to travel between our room and the lobby. It boasts seven restaurants, with 2 out of 7 requiring advance reservations. There are two expansive pools, each featuring a swim-up bar. However, the beach had a significant amount of seaweed both on the sand and in the water, which detracted from its appeal for swimming. A snack bar is open every day from 4 pm to 6 pm. Additionally, they offer a teen lounge that is open to adults as well. This  [... read more]lounge includes amenities like a bowling alley, pool tables, table tennis, a bar, and a teen club. The resort also features a nightclub, piano lounge, spa, gym, mini shopping store, and a medical facility. Our hotel room was excellent and kept comfortably cool. The housekeeping staff was exceptional. They promptly arranged a crib for me and quickly provided fresh towels. One minor drawback regarding the rooms is the potential for more regular sweeping, as it didn't seem to occur daily. Overall, this resort was outstanding and lived up to expectations.

Occidental Caribe: Awesome, clean and well spread out.

The place is very large but still very close to the beach. The staff are friendly as well as the grounds keepers. We found no problems with the food. Very abundant and hot. Great deserts and fruit as well.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Unorganized resort

Difficult to reserve restaurants, then you get there, restaurant is empty and no place available ! Beach is small and very heavy waves, full of weeds. Service was slow, did not fill our fridge even after calling, worst resort i ever been too

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Pleasant Stay!

The hotel is great, the food was surprisingly good, and the themed restaurants were also great. It was really pleasant to be a VIP Club member. Very friendly staff, fun activities, and a peaceful environment. The beach was great, there's a lot of snorkeling opportunities; we also got really lucky with the weather. The tours that are offered at the airport and the hotel are great: we went to Scape Park and a biggie trip. Highly recommend those! Ocean El Faro: Average Resort

This hotel has a lot of improvement still to do. The Hotel is nice but the rooms smelled like Mold and the food is horrible. The night Entertainment was horrible and needs improvement. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
