Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Special Place

We visited Melia Cayo Santa Maria in 2018 and had planned to return the following year. Here we are 6 years later and finally making our next trip South. The resort seems to have had a number of upgrades since we were there last. Our room was beautiful! We were so glad that Daniel was still there. He was one of the main reasons we returned. He takes such pride in preparing a nice meal. I only wish for the food shortages to be a thing of the past. The pool was nice and Luis was always ready to find us a table or pool floaty, and to have a toss of the football! And the beach is amazing. You won’t find a nicer one anywhere. The entertainment team did a great job. There was one night that the sound system gave them some issues so the band that was to play in the lobby was unable, but the other nights there was something fun to watch. We will definitely be back (probably in less than 12 months) and are looking forward to it already. Shout outs to Daniel, Yamile, Yanelys, Luis and Norge. The people are the best!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great resort

We felt full and food was good for Cuba. We know the limitations in variety can be scarce but they do what they can. The rooms were not cleaned well where we were but if you don’t hang out in your room often it shouldn’t be an issue. Bring coffee because he got none. After and beer were provided Bugs are bad , bring spray. Beach is very rough to get into due to rocks and shells. Entertainment and pools were good. Younger crowd for sure , early teens to 20s. Melia Internacional: Amazing vacation destination

I love Melia Internacional Varadero where I am treated like family as I have been there 10 times with my family members. Last time I was there there with my family was on April 17 for a week. Even though it's only 5 years old and still in good condition, the resort was undergoing major renovations. All the room numbers and direction signs were being replaced with new ones. Over 200 rooms were being renovated. All common areas were being painted. New suntan beds were received for the Level Adults [... read more] section on April 23. The food, the service, the cleanness were all top notch. I would like to offer a big thank you to all the staff and a special thank you to few of them as I am limited in space on this post and cannot name everyone. Thank you Dario for your great personality and amazing management style. I've seen how you operates in quiet times and under pressure and I was impressed. Thank you to all the management team whom I have interacted with daily especially Adriana and Roberto. Gerlad good luck on your new role. Thanks to the chefs and cooks especially Ariel. To all Mosaico staff especially Adriel who is always providing service with a smile. To all the servers at the Blue, Red and Sky bars especially: Yusvani, Suyen, Jessica and Danay. To the room maids especially Celia, Balkis and Marai. Last but not least the Adults Level beach service: Yamil, Yuri, Tomys and Yazel. Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Amazing resort

Amazing resort. Very family friendly kids loved the kids club as well as the beach never had to fight for chairs. We had a few small issues on our trip and they were fixed immediately. Not a party resort. Lots of food options and booze. Loved the cappuccino . Ariel was our favorite bartender. We will be back forsure

Hotel Playa Coco: Yet again another amazing trip

Another visit equals another smile and happiness. This resort is the best smallest resort we have ever found. Great food, great people, clean grounds and beach, an amazing gym, a perfect diamond in the ruff.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Nice Quiet Resort

This resort is one of three in the area. No locals around. Quiet area if you are looking for a very relaxing place. Pools are clean and maintained. Beautiful white sand beach. Clean and well maintaned buildings. Entertainment and food is the only thing lacking in my opinion. There is plenty of food it’s just not that enjoyable, but most Cuban food is like that for me personally. Totally would go back. For me it’s all about relaxing, sun and the beach

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful resort

This was the nicest resort I have stayed in in Cuba. Smaller resort with rooms with large sleeping area with living room attached. Beautiful bathroom. All buildings in centre of resort so right was to lobby, buffet and left close to pool and beach. Food was ok, only one day there was no eggs but always a large variety of food for every meal. Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Beautiful Resort

The hotel was excellent. Very clean and our rooms were cleaned daily. The resort appears new. Everything is like new. The pool was very well maintained and the kids enjoyed it. In the hotel everyone hung around the huge lobby, because it had comfortable chairs and sofas. The servers brought you a drink or espresso coffee. We enjoyed the gentleman that played guitar there nightly. So talented.

Carisol los Corales: Amazing Quiet Location

Trip Central should remove the airport "Santiago De Cuba" from they site because there is no flights to Santiago and the resorts you are going to is transported in by ether a taxi or mini van! Resorts that are open and running are struggling with lack of tourists and the tourist that are in are complaining of misled by falls advertisement!! Corales resort is open and fits the number of stars rated. Food adequate, drinks limited to beer and rum which is ok. for us. Local tourists at the re [... read more]sort were very polite. The grounds kept in shape also some repairs and new construction going on. Rooms are clean only 7 days out of fourteen issue with hot water only in our room. The beach is kept clean but main issue was: see weeds in the ocean that should be cleaned and only a little patch of sand for non swimmers! The ocean was very clear and very warm!! I would recommend this hotel if the Santiago airport was open or if you like 4 hr. of site seen and some bad roads, yes! The staff are friendly and appreciates our stay. The south part of Cuba is being neglected by the Cuban government with everything from food to medication etc., etc.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Sol Rio de Luna

As we have just returned from 21 days at Sol Luna I feel I can give a fair and honest assessment for this resort. This is our seventh trip to this resort and our 14th to Cuba.First of all the staff and grounds are one of the best in Cuba. There are some serious issues in Cuba surrounding shortages The poor staff do what they can to satisify but even their frustration shows at times. Examples are no bread for days, no eggs for days ,no bacon for days, limited watered down juice. no mixed drinks e [... read more]xcept rum punch. At the A La Carte restaurants it seems to be the same old products just renamed.Example soup in all pretty much the same but renamed in each.Water issues for a few days resulted in some frustration. 1 day no water for 8 hours 1 day no water for 4 hours 1 day no hot water... We feel that we are fair and try to understand the problems Cuba is having however as we are paying good money for the trip we don,t expect to have these ongoing problems.Conditions were much worse this year than 2023. I have no issues with Trip Central and certainly will be using Jenn Black in the future.Unless things improve in Cuba i would not recommend any resort in this country.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Sanctuary grand memories

This is definitely not a 4.5 star resort. Pros beds were comfortable, beach is amazing Staff are wonderful Cons, pool is falling apart, rooms definitely need an upgrade, Wooden stairs leading to a spot to eat actually broke while someone was walking up them, food was scarce, mold on pillows, not much of a selection for drinks Overall I would give this maybe a 2.5

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: We'll come back!

We really liked the way the resort was set out, with small, two-storey buildings in well maintained grounds. Lots of flowering shrubs and trees. Our room was lovely and clean, and the housekeepers made sure that we had everything we wanted. The pool was great, the beach was sandy and fabulous. Lounge chairs were in demand, however. The staff are friendly and helpful, and made our visit really enjoyable.

Grand Memories Holguin: Great Memories in Holguin

I have to say that I was very hesitant to go to Cuba for our family vacation this year. We had heard many things about the food shortages and hotel conditions. We were flabbergasted by the fantastic resort! Beautifully spread out...your choice of 3 pools, plenty of bars, food / snack bars and great music entertainers! The room was in immaculate condition. The room service was excellent, our room maid was so particular to ensuring our room was clean with a lovely flower and towel animal surpri [... read more]se on the bed or counter daily! We were on the ground floor right near the pool, so I was afraid it would be noisy. Not at all! The loudspeaker only goes on at 10am with soft meditation music. The loud party time is from 3-6pm and by 8pm, it is a ghost town. No rocking disco to keep you awake all night. The entertainment was fun and clean. Good dancing lessons. Beach was immaculately cleaned every morning. Great yoga on the beach. Massage was good and the Spa was so serene! Gym was very modern and new equipment. Thank you Beth for suggesting this place. We were very pleased!

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Fantastic if you like big hotels

New hotel, spotless clean, excellent service, good food, beautiful beach - almost everything you want in a vacation spot. For us, it was too big, we prefer smaller hotels. As in all new hotels, the garden is not fully grown, therefore there is a lot of areas that do not have enough shade.Otherwise perfect.

Valentin Perla Blanca: A great week overall

We had a great week. The best part was the BEACH!! Best beach I've ever seen, and I've been to 15 countries. Pulled pork sandwiches at the beach grill for lunch were incredible!! Resort was only half opened. No nightly entertainment. No toilet paper in public washrooms. Recommend taking small tissue packages to keep on you! Lobby is beautiful and clean. Great coffee. Quiet/relax pool was closed, only one party pool was opened, but it was great. Lots of entertainment and music at the pool. Even a foam party one afternoon. Pool bar/music closed at 5pm. Buffet was quite bland, but we didn't go hungry. Great calamari and mussels. Omlettes everyday! Great sausages one day. Rooms were good. Beds and pillows terrible. I recommend bringing a pillow! And snacks! The people were awesome, we had a great week. Hoping they get back to full operation soon. This resort was much better back in 2018. But overall worth the price we paid. The beach itself was worth it!!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Fantastic resort

Rooms were clean had clean towels. Food was doable had lots didn't run out of anything. The staff were great, very helpful, and polite. Check in was a bit of a fuss but nothing worth complaining about. Grounds were clean well kept. Beach was well kept pools were clean.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Disgusting health hazard

This place is a real health hazard. Shortages, cockroaches, dirty rooms, bad service. One piece of advice is stay away. Got sick 2 days into the trip, with severe diarrhea and vomiting. No fresh towels, used the same ones throughout the whole trip for showering and for the beach. STAY AWAY.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Nice Resort

Stayed in the fiesta side. The room was very clean. Always had hot water. Staff is amazing. Food was really good. Didn’t see any shortages. It’s kind of a quiet resort. Not the best nightlife. More for an older crowd, or the kind of people who are in bed very early. Beach was just ok but boring. Not much music and zero Entertainment. Next door was much nicer.
