Riu Republica: Enjoyed our stay
The resort is beautiful. It has very large, and there are many options as to which pool and atmosphere you prefer. There were all ages who went to this resort. Rooms were nice and clean with lots of space. Hotel staff when checking in were super helpful with accommodating our large group and moving rooms we could all be close to one another. We had great weather! Buffets were good but wasn’t overly impressed with the a la cartes. Staff were good but not overly friendly when serving drinks by t[... read more]he pool or at the bar, we had to order our drinks from the bar most often. Transportation to and from resort to airport was great!

Riu Flamingos: Lovely, well manicured resort
We stayed at the Riu Jalisco from Jan 25 to Feb 1, 2019. It is a beautiful, well manicured resort. The service all over the resort was excellent. All the employees were friendly and happy to help you with anything you needed, be it a bartender, a waitress or the front desk staff.
The food was very good at all the restaurants and the buffets, with a fantastic selection to choose from, with the exception of one. The steak we had at the La Botana Steak house in the evening, really left someth[... read more]ing to be desired. It was thin and very tough. We stood in line for 20 minutes to get in but it was a real disappointment. The specialty coffee was a real treat and quite the show. Be sure to ask your waitress to have the “coffee guy†come to your table at least once during your stay. He seemed to always be in the Don Emiliano buffet.
The evening entertainment was really quite good. We especially enjoyed the Cirque du Soleil style show and the Michael Jackson tribute. Also the Mr. Riu contest was hilarious. They had a really nice open air theatre situated between two bars with lots of table and chairs.
The rooms were a nice size, nicely furnished and kept very clean. There was one thing that did bother us, but I’m not sure what could be done about it. That was the musty smell when you first walked into the room. It was very humid while we were there, but I’m sure it’s always humid there being on the ocean. We have been to quite a few ocean side resorts and I can honestly say, they did not have that strong musty smell. Our friends’ room also had that strong musty smell, so I suspect the whole hotel was like that.
This hotel is situated on a beach with a large grove of palm trees so you always had a choice of shade or sun. The beach was very clean and you could walk for a long ways. There were always lots of lounge chairs on the beach and at the pools no matter what time of the day you went down. We never had any problems exchanging our beach/pool towels. There were always lots and the towel lady was very friendly.
All in all, it was a lovely place and I would recommend it to anyone.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great Time !
This was our first time in Panama and at the Riu Playa Blanca. Weather was fantastic the resort was clean and staff were very hard working and very attentive. Service in the restaurants was very good. The rooms were clean, we had an issue with our lock box and the Manager came up right away to fix the problem. Food was fresh especially the seafood, steak was not on par with a good steakhouse in Canada but besides that, food and beverages were very good especially the coffee which make Tim Ho[... read more]rtons crap in comparison. The Sunwing staff were also very helpful and would definitely recommend Panama and the resort.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great resort
We had a great time at the Riu. It’s not a massive resort like others that requires a tram or walk a mile to get anywhere. The resort and beach were very clean. The best thing was the short walk to the beach from our room. It was nice not to have reservations for the restaurants. The steakhouse the best, I loved my ribeye.
Also love the jungle boat tour, it was a bit of a drive to get there but totally worth it. Will definitely return!! And want to thank the bartender Donny at the swim up [... read more]bar, always having a smile and made great surprise drinks. Lol

Riu Palace Macao: Absolutely Beautiful
The Riu Palace Macao is a beautiful hotel, from your first glimpse of the open and airy lobby until you reach your room and the views from your very private veranda. The Front Desk staff are very nice and informative and will help you with every inquiry and problem you may have during your stay. This is where you will ask for water for your room if you find there is none in your fridge.
This is a quieter resort than what we are accustomed to staying at, which we really enjoyed. The shows i[... read more]n the evening are in an area that is away from the hotel far enough as to not keep you up at night if you aren't interested in being a participant. There are some activities going on around the pool during the day that you can join into and enjoy if you wish.
The hotel has four a la carte dining rooms that you do not need to make a reservation at, as well as the buffet area. The food was very good at every place that we ate at during our stay. We didn't get to the steak house as it was always very full and lots of people waiting for a table, so I'm going to assume that the food is excellent there as well. The portions are big, which is great for a large appetite and also different from other a la carte resort restaurants that we have been to, you won't leave feeling hungry. The waiters are all very friendly and efficient. Some of them enjoy joking around and that's always good for a laugh. Everyone dresses up for Dinner, even at the buffet restaurant which was different for us, but I like to get dressed up so I enjoyed that as well. I noticed that there were a lot of people who liked to sit around the bar and lobby area in the evenings after Dinner and have drinks. This really isn't our thing but for those of you who enjoy socializing, you would have a good opportunity to do so at this hotel. We enjoy heading back to our hotel room and relaxing after Dinner. The rooms were very quiet and I don't think we heard our neighbours once.
There is a lady who cleans your room, a gentleman who brings around the drink cart and a lady who brings towels to your room at night, as well as 24 hour room service that we tried one time. The food was good and the portions were more than what we needed. Bring lots of small bills for tipping.
There is an in-room safe which is always an important safety feature for any resort. We had a bit of a problem opening it but it turns out that we had too much stuff in it and the door was being pushed out so it wouldn't open when we put in our code. So, helpful tip, don't overstuff your safe.
I celebrated my 51st birthday while we were there, I had happy birthday sang to me twice, once on one of our excursions and once at the Japanese restaurant, as well as a very tasty birthday cake. The lady who made up the room decorated it, which was also a first for me. We usually travel south during mine and my spouses birthdays and this is the first time this has happened. They also gave me some gifts from the hotel. I believe a Punta Cana coffee cup, a little Riu Palace girl statue, some chocolates, a bottle of red wine, and a small bottle of mamauana alone with a birthday greeting card from the hotel. This made my day feel very special.
The beach was amazing, beautiful soft white sand, gorgeous palm trees and very few beach vendors. The bar staff waited on you at the beach as well. The water was very warm and great for taking a dip. Lots of beach chairs, we never had a problem finding a place to sit back and enjoy the beach. All in all, one of the best beach experiences I've had so far at any of the resorts we've been to.
If you walk way down the beach to the right of the hotel you will find a bunch of vendors, I wouldn't recommend going there. The prices were too high and they didn't really want to dicker at all. We bought a (what we were told) a hand carved wooden turtle which broke a leg in the luggage on the way home and it turned out to be cement of some kind. We are looking in to repairing it but I was very dissapointed as we paid $60 US for it. So, buyer beware.
The place to pick up souvenirs is a bunch of little shops along a road just to the right of the hotel. The shop keepers are easy to dicker with and this is where we got the majority of our souvenirs. They also have a small pharmacy there for small things that you may need taken care of health wise.
We didn't go to the Casino as we are not gamblers, but there is one in the hotel if that is your thing.
The pools are beautiful and we did find that the beach chairs fill up faster here. We only went to the bar pool a couple of times but we enjoyed this pool very much. Something that we noticed and were happy about is that they use a heavy plastic, reusable cup for their drinks at this hotel, so no plastic garbage being thrown out.
We enjoyed this resort very much, older more mature patrons made for a quieter, less party like atmosphere that we enjoyed.

Riu Reggae: Great resort!
I cannot fault the resort at all - it was a wonderful week vacation. The only thing i wasn't a huge fan of was the beach - it was very small and the water wasn't clear. The resort staff and entertainment team were awesome! The food was delicious and the rooms were great.

Riu Santa Fe: Great Fun Place
I would definitely return to and recommend this resort.
If you like a quiet time or a really fun time, this is the place to go!!
The resort is kept spotless and the food was fine (not spectacular but good). There are 4 parties held in a separate area that look to be a ton of fun with a foam pool and DJ etc ..... I enjoyed the swim up bar best.. enjoying the water and some different drinks and making new friends.
There are also quiet areas if that's what you prefer.. I took advantage of this [... read more]for a few days as what I was needing was some good down time.
The town of Cabo is also great, with lots to see and enjoy

Riu Republica: Good Time
Overall good resort. This was my second vacation here. The service improved greatly. Good selection of alcohol, friendly staff. I found housekeeping was not quite up to par. The steak house was disappointing, great buffet selection, Jerk chicken very good. They need to improve on the beef entrees.

Riu Republica: Great Adult Resort
First time visitor to Rui Republica and hopefully not the last one, wife and I had a fabulous time at the resort and the weather was fantastic the hole week which helped the stay.

Restaurants were unbelievable lots to choose from and no need to make reservations other then the stake house had two seati[... read more]ng 7:30 and 8:30 first come basics other then that they all were buffet style, lots of food to chose from you wont go hungry.
pools; they are plenty pool for everyone and the beach was fabulous lots of chairs and plenty shades for those who want to take a nap.
Bars are everywhere you wont go thirsty lol !!! bring your own mug to save time but if you lazy they are guys servicing pool areas so you don't even have to get up for drinks.
Resort is big if you are in the front its easier to get to activates and if in the back little walking required but plenty activities their also to keep you busy.

Riu Negril: Pretty good!
Our stay was pretty good! Food was good and the rooms were clean. The view was beyond beautiful! However the beach has locals on it which was neat at first until they kept trying to make us buy stuff and do not like no for a answer.. my husband and I started avoiding the beach area because how can you enjoy it when your non stop being bothered on buying something you’ve already said no to. Some of the locals were really cool and friendly.

Riu Palace Aruba: Beautiful resort
Everything is beautiful with this resort, the layout is excellent. We were very happy with our room since. We enjoyed watching the sunset every evening from our room which was a bonus. Food was very good. People working at the resort were very friendly and helpful. The only disappointing thing happened was one of us got food poisoning. We found out later at the airport that more people had gotten sick.

Riu Ocho Rios: Great resort, great people!
This is our second time to this resort and it was even better than the last time. The jerk chicken at the jerk hut is amazing. This resort is big enough but not too big. Has enough tourists to make it interesting but not too many to make it over crowded. The staff are fantastic, the food has a lot of variety and tastes great!! A la cart steak house Mammee Bay delicious!! Rooms are all basically facing the ocean so no bad rooms. Riu Palace Paradise Island: Beautiful resort
Love this resort. Have been 7 times. Never disappoints. You get the same great amenities every time. Everything is so close. You're in very short walking distance to the pool the beach the buffet the coffee shop and the Atlantis Hotel is 60 feet away. There are so many staff that are available to make sure you always have a drink in your hand a towel or anything that you need. I also like the fact that it's not a very far car drive from the airport.
