Melia Marina Varadero: Nice resort, beautiful beach & pool, terrible food
We went to Cuba with a very open mind. Hotel, staff, beach, pool, bars, and drinks were ALL amazing. The food was terrible, though, and I hate writing this because everything else was so awesome but it's the truth. I know we were in Cuba and they are not known for their food but I've been to Cuba before and the food was no where near this terrible. A lot of things were undercooked (omelettes in the level 3 mornings, chicken at the grill on the beach, hamburgers) and they ran out of certain food [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great resort
Love this resort. The rooms are getting dated, but they were clean, and everything (shower, AC, safe) worked. Food is decent. Every staff member from checkin, housekeeping, bartender and waiters is a pleasure to deal with. The beach is the shining star, one of the nicest I've been to.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Still Favourite...needs improvement
The grounds the hotel and the beach are wonderful. The staff is over the top excellent in most cases. A special shout out to Aida in customer service as well as Rueben. Dayleen at the Carribean lunch bar and her whole team excellent. The main buffet was extremely disorganized and inconsistent service. Some of the restaurant are not what they used to be either. Yes in part due to some embargo issues from the US as one key staff person told us. However they can still improve what they can contro [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort, with awesome Beach
Great resort getting a little dated, mattresses are very firm and a little lumpy. Signage to get to your room , beach and so on are there just don't really help giving directions, you could wander in circles for awhile. Food was good for Cuba . French fries were a hit although these were available only a couple days and then no more, where as the White wine, you would get a glass and 10 minutes later they were out, but 10 more minutes later they might have more wine for 30 minutes then run out [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Old Friend
Just returned home from my 6th visit to Melia Las Dunas a little teary eyed. Leaving this old friend is never easy. Our room was more than adequate for our needs. We left it by approximately 8:30am each day, returned to change for evening dinner, arrived back by 10pm or so to sleep. This place has no problem keeping two 70 year olds on the go all day long. The beach is AMAZING. The grounds are meticulously kept and full of colour. The main buffet and specialty restaurants ensure that no on [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: An excellent place to stay!
My wife and I visited Paradisus from March 29 to April 5. We were pleasantly surprised by the resort. The staff was excellent and service was fantastic. The grounds were fairly well kept. The food was very very good and there was no shortage of it. You were able to get something to eat at anytime, the 24 hour restaurant and bar was great. We highly recommend this resort and we will definitely return. Lorenzo and Luis were great bartenders!
Melia Cayo Coco: Close to Jardines del Rey Airport in Cayo Cocoa
Melia Cayo Cocoa resort: nice short ride to the resort from the airport. resort is not too big and not too small. pool is nice but there is only one. rooms are nicely done and clean. maid service was excellent and friendly. reception staff always quick and friendly. I once went to the counter to have a 10 Cuban peso converted to singles and the guy already had 10 coins in his hand for me. Was disappointed on lack of fish in the beach waters as we have been to other resorts and were amazed [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: FANTASTIC RESORT - A DEFINITE MUST FOR A RETURN!
This was our first time in Paradisus Rio De Oro. We had a fantastic time. Divided our time between the pool and the gorgeous beach that had amazing snorkeling. The food was fantastic in both the buffet as well as the A la Carte restaurants. Japanese was our favorite. The grounds were immaculate and the workers in all areas of the resort were polite and very friendly. We are already planning on returning next year. I have no hesitation at all to recommend this resort. It was not too big and [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Meliã Las Dunas - April 2019
Honest review: We had an amazing time. The room was dated, but clean, and the cleaning staff was incredible. The food was, well, okay. There was always something to eat at the buffet, though the à la carte restaurants left a lot to be desired. The Columbus was delicious! The poolside bar was great, but be sure to get there in time to claim chairs or you’ll be hard pressed to find some shade. The beach was the same. Get there early. But what a beach! Best I have ever been to. Frankly, my fianc [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome Vacation
We had a great stay here. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Grounds were very well kept. Booked the Japanese a la carte and we highly recommend this. The food was so good. The beach was absolutely beautiful and the pools were also nice. Lots of activities on the beach. Nighttime entertainment was great as well.
Melia Jardines del Rey: The BAD out weighs the Good
We just got back from Melia Jardines del Rey and I will give you the good first. Good: beach is amazing, grounds are kept nice from the hard working groundskeepers. Housekeepers are always working to keep main lobby clean. Most of the staff speak good English and are friendly, Roberto in the buffet was awesome greeting us with a smile every morning. The cook making our eggs remembered what we liked each morning. The was always lounge chairs available and shade shelters at beach and pool. [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: First Time to Cayo Santa Maria and the Melia
Stayed at this resort from March 29/19 to April 5/19. We went for the beach, which was outstanding, many kilometers of walking, lots of palapas and chairs, no need to rush out in the morning to save chairs. No rocks in the beach, all sand for swimming, but some waves on some days. Stayed in room 1915 which was in very good shape, everything worked and had a very private garden patio. Lots of hot water at all times of the day and good water pressure. The staff kept it very clean for the entire we [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Amazing Resort
This is a very large resort with a lot of things to do and see. We had an awesome time and got spoiled by the employees. I highly recommend this resort to families. The buffet has a large select of food for all types of eater.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome
Can’t say anything bad about this resort for the money we paid!!! I would go back again next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Sad how things change
Been here before. Enjoyed it immensely. This time not so much. I think the hurricane took a large toll on this resort. Every thing is tired and worn. Out of straws, coffee liquor bacon, jam, potatoes, tomatoes, French fries, king bed sheets and probably more that I'm not aware of. All the food that was available had enough salt to kill a person. Beef was rock hard in Buffett and the three a'la cartes. Sad really.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: The beach was breathtaking
We loved our trip to Melia Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba. We expected beautiful beaches and weather and we got that and more. From flight to arrival to hotel, our stay and departure, all went very well. Would go back in a heartbeat. No mosquitoes, there was always something good to eat, the staff are amazing and the grounds are so beautiful. This is a wonderful hotel to stay at.
Memories Cayo Largo: Nice resort, amazing beach!
This was our third time at the Sol Cayo Largo. We go there because the beach is simply amazing! The resort is old, but they do their best with what they have to keep it updated. The food at the two a-la-cartes is very good. The buffet gets a little repetitive after 7 days. There was a lack of fresh fruit during our week. There is a lack of palapas. I guess many have been destroyed and not rebuilt. The little train is still running and does 3 trips to the marina where you take the cata [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Good Vacation
This was my second time at this Resort and I'm sorry to kind of say that it has gone downhill in a year. The beach was amazing our room was okay the food was not as great this time. The food literally was the same thing for lunch and supper for the whole 7 days that we were there. The drinks were never consistent and they also ran out of beer several times. We were looking so forward to returning to this Resort as we were there before, but we will not be returning to this Resort again.
Hotel Camino del Mar: Rooms were very dated and toilets didn't work properly no hot water for our full time there!
Very disappointing for a Melia. We have stayed in Melia's in Cayo Santa Maria, Cayo Coco (3 times) and were very pleased with these. However because of this one we will not stay at another Melia. Arrival took for ever, one person on the front desk to check in the 16 guest that arrived. Toilet wouldn't flush any thing down and there was no hot water. Called 3 times the first night, no one came although they said they were sending someone each time. Spoke with Carlos (hotel manager) three times [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: slightly disappointed
We went on a family vacation totaling 8 people including children. We had a good time but since it was not peak season not all of the restaurants were open as advertised. Also, since it was geared towards families there was no smoking allowed, which was great, only I was irritated by the fact that it was easy to detect some of the workers smoking. The ocean was great but we had about 20 feet of stones to wade through to get to the sandbar. After stating the negatives, the staff was cou [... read more]
