Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful beach.

If you’re looking for value for your money then Club Amigo Atlantico is a resort of choice. The beach is beautiful and the secluded alcoves welcoming. From the eastern most alcove a 50 metre swim puts you out among the coral and some great snorkeling, both for colour and variety of aquatic life. The food was tasty with a good variety so suit most guests. A little congested if you came later to eat with some slight wait times. We enjoyed our stay and will probably return in the future to enjoy the resorts hospitality and amazing coral.

Playa Pesquero: Very very Disappointed!!!!

This is our 15th time in Holguin but first time at Playa Pasquero! Always wanted to come here but it was pricey this time we could afford it so decided to take both my University kids to treat them as they needed a good break! We have been to the other two sister resorts on the same beach Blau and Playa Costa this was one of the expensive ones it’s supposed to be a 5 star! Nothing about it was 5 Star!!! So we decided to ignore the reviews and take a chance! Were we WRONG!!!! We came back 2 days ago and I still have stomach cramps and nausea!!! Let me start with the food first OMG it’s true everything there was canned!!!!!! Who wants canned food when you go to a 5 star? And that too when you pay premium during Xmas time?! So all vegetables were canned and as for fish beef chicken during lunch and dinner you have to lineup for 20 minutes to get your food! Because they don’t keep it ready they will cook what you choose and everyone of course lines up because they are hungry! Which is a waste of time!!!! So many times we were so hungry we couldn’t bother standing in a lineup just ended eating bread and crap! As for the other beach restaurants it’s the same thing you order they cook you wait! And they don’t have beef burgers everything there is mixed with pork! What if you don’t eat pork???!!!! Even the beans had pork in it!!!! So food sucked there. As for the rooms no issues there only the maids would not replace the soaps etc thank god we brought ours at the 5 star! The beach is nice we have stayed at the sister hotels so it’s the same beach. Service sucks! No one bothers cleaning your table or tasking your order when you are sitting in the lobby you have to of course lineup again for coffee tea etc only people who know people get service! We got 4 alacarte restaurant out of 5 that’s the rule we went to all because we needed food! Each restaurant took 2 hours to prepare their food which is a waste of time! And yes the washroom at the beach smells of gutter exploded only one toilet works the other doesn’t flush! And no one bothers fixing it either! How goes anyone call this a five star hotel is beyond me!!! It was a waste of money I wish we had gone to Blau instead! Much better food and service! Never again! Please manager don’t bother replying like you do every bad review because if you cared then you would have learnt from all the bad reviews left by people instead of defending yourself fix your resort and please don’t even call it 4 star because even Blau is 10 times better then Playa Pasquero!!!!! So disappointed wish I had not ignored all the reviews read and the water smells there! Of sand! How can filtered water smell???? I am wondering if that’s what is giving me a stomachache!!! It’s still in my system!!! Or was it the food half cooked????? No hot water for tea in the mornings either!!!!

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful Resort

Great place to stay. People were wonderful, resort was very clean. Food was fine, workers' were very friendly and helpful. Beach was beautiful and pool was amazing. Service was all top notch and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Playa Pesquero: Just great.

Everything was perfect, except I wish they had more bathrooms around the resort. The service was great, the people were friendly, the food was pretty good. I would definitely come back to this one some day.

Playa Pesquero: Always Amazing

this was my 6 visit to this particular resort and as always i am very impressed with all amenities of this resort, The hotel staff are all so friendly and helpful and i recommend this resort to all my friends and family.

Playa Pesquero: A truly all inclusive resort.

Playa Pesquero resort is lovely. The beach is very enjoyable and great to swim, relax, and enjoy throughout the whole day. The food is excellent especially if you like seafood but even if you don’t it’s very good with variety and choices. The people are pleasant and helpful. We went during the week of December 17th and the weather was just right for us, not too hot, and yet warm enough to go swimming. We really enjoyed being there and are planning to go again. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: You get what you pay for

Grounds were ok. Dated, but ok. The rooms were absolutely horrible. We switched to a Villa which was supposed to be better but they were still terrible. Beds were uncomfortable and bedding was changed only when we asked to have them changed. The beach was nice. The food was terrible. Things were reheated until it was finished (usually 2-3 days) not always enough food for everyone. I will never visit this resort again!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great family vacation.

Had a great time. Lots of walking and stairs so definitely not for someone with mobility issues. Rooms were spacious and clean. Pools many, clean and varied so easy areas for little ones and adults alike. Beach was also great. The sunwing reps were so nice and helpful and actually easy to find if we had questions. Playa Costa Verde: Great resort

Grounds very nice pool great but had some missing tiles. Rooms very comfortable. Food was so so but it’s Cuba. People alway complaint but it is a 3rd world country. We feel very safe there. Weather has always been great

Brisas Guardalavaca: Place to be

I travel with my husband and kids a lot of different parts of Cuba almost all tourist places. And I always return to this place. I Just count: 9(nine) times it says by itself. Amazing places because of the people and nature which much different from other parts of Cuba and price usually in low season between 600 to 700$. But this time I pay imagine 509$ for triple occupation. For that price I can't even feet in any accommodation in Canada for weekend. Resort is very compact and clean if you sta [... read more]y in main building you will be always in the meddle of everything you need.If you stay in villas it will be 2 min walk and you have more quiet place. And one precious addition: in all Cuban resort you are usually isolated from everything, but here you will enjoy interactions for many people(locals and foreigners) and have 1km+ beton boardwalk. Do not relay on bad review which are not much just came and see. Highly recommended.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: wonderful accomodations!

Dining was excellent. The Ala carted were over the top. Our room was spacious, and clean and the hospitality was great. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone. I really enjoyed my stay in holguin.

Playa Costa Verde: Tired Family Resort

Our pool view room was nice and very clean. However, several people had rooms with bedbug issues. The hotel made attempts to remedy this although some resolutions required paying for an upgrade as those were the only rooms available. Food was plentiful but lacking in quality . A LA cartes were a little better and there is an optional lobster lunch on the beach $$ that is a good investment! Many happy children that enjoy all the pools although there are designated pools. Quiet adult relaxing time was a bit challenging.The beach is nice although a bit of a walk, repeat travellers to this resort reported the reef has been damaged by the recent hurricaine but there are still fish to observe.They have recently had a large change of entertainment staff so they are adjusting to this The grounds are well maintained and some of the facilities are a little tired. Lots of British people to meet and mingle with. Hotel lobby bar has great service and the snack bar has lovely cappuccino. There are excursions to participate in as well as a local market across from the resort.

Playa Costa Verde: A Good Time

Buffet food was excellent, pools and beach were great. Italian a la carte restaurant food was shockingly awful. Our room was a ground floor room, and unfortunately I am not a great fan of sharing my space with frogs (5 managed to get in during 7 days-no windows open!) and large spiders. So not much restful sleep was had. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, The layout of the resort was very nice, I especially enjoyed the Main Lobby Bar area, a nice place to meet new people. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Holiday in Cuba

The beaches are fantastic! This was our first visit to Cuba, you do need to remember that this country has been under an embargo for many years and therefore you may not find all those creature comforts you are used to when on vacation. I can totally understand why the staff in some cases is sick and tired of tourists who drink all day and behave in ways that are less than desirable. Banana's, watermelon and oranges are your fruit of choice. Didn't see salad greens anywhere! For the price really can't complain but next time would upgrade to a newer hotel.

Playa Pesquero: Great beach, excellent resort

Lots of space, never a problem to find beach chairs, table to eat etc. Always plenty to eat and drink anytime of the day. Enjoyed walking grounds lots of small wildlife and birds. Service excellent. Snorkelling at one side of beach lots of fun. Private catamarans and other non-motorized water transportation available for free and in excellent condition.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: It was a great time!

The rooms were fine. Food varied, but overall it was alright. The staff and grounds were amazing. Bottom line : I would certainly go back. I went to have a fun time with my girlfriend and friends and that happened every day.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: A Resort In Transition.

We stayed at this resort from November 27- December 9. We continue to return to this resort at least once a year. It has become a favourite. The Plus section is a solid 4 star. It is no longer co-managed by Blau Resorts. It is in transition and the new partner is Fiesta Americana from Mexico. There was not a large headcount when we were there. I do believe that it was because of the past hurricanes. No need to worry as Cuba is up and running as if nothing happened. There were lots of chairs an [... read more]d shade area around all of the pools and on the beach. A perfect beach for snorkelling and swimming. I would recommend the Plus section because of the newer ammenities and the digital air conditioning. There were lots of upgrades continuing on the older buildings. We will be returning. I advise to take insect repellant and an after bite lotion. Due to the heavy rains previously there were a lot of no see ums and mosquitos. It was very hot, humid and sunny during our stay.

Brisas Guardalavaca: comfortable resort

This was the 4th time we visited. It is a comfortable resort, attending by nice people. We did not participate in evening entertainment, so we cannot comment on that. The rooms are nice but need some improvement ( the fridge did not work..)The beach lounges were always available.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Not impressed

This was my fourth time returning to this resort, and unfortunately, will definitely be my last! The buffet had always had a wide variety of food including many fruits and veggies and they are now serving half of what they did and the same things everyday. The entertainment crew is not nearly as friendly as the last 3 times there. The shows not as good. No more beer or pop in rooms unless you pay for Diamond Club, which was never explained to me. Returning guest meal is advertised as lobster and [... read more] we had beef, yet they were selling lobster lunch on the beach for 10 pesos. It took 3 days and multiple phone calls to receive our bottle of rum in our room. Coffee is served from a machine now in the buffet and the service there was terrible. They would walk right past us and not clear our plates. There was never any toilet paper in the beach restroom or the front lobby restroom. All in all, I returned to this resort 4 times because of the amazing service and food in previous visits and this last time around definitely sealed the deal of never returning. The two bartenders that have been there for years we’re fantastic as always and our maid was fantastic. Those are the only two positive points I have to say. Disappointed returning guest!!!!!!
