Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Great Resort

This resort has a wonderful Caribbean ambiance, and I felt very comfortable being there. The grounds are lush with trees and shrubs. The rooms could use some rejuvenating but they are still nice and comfortable. The food could be repetitive from day to day, but they provided many choices for the guests to choose from. I would certainly return to this resort

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Disappointing

The experience was not very good from start to finish but maybe the worst of it was the food. I would describe the food situation in this way: It feels as if they are using the same budget for food in 2023 as they used in 2015… meaning that with the price of food having gone up as much as it has (all over the world) if you are still using the same budget in 2023 as you were 10 years ago, you are getting much less quality. The food was not enjoyable so that was a major setback for the trip.  [... read more] Other than that, the rooms (especially the bathrooms) were tired and in need of maintenance and refreshing. The Staff tried their best to handle requests and be accommodating which was appreciated. I upgraded to Diamond Club almost immediately after arriving and it was still a ‘less than satisfactory’ trip.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Majestic and elegant indeed!

The Majestic Elegance lived up to its name. The property is grand, the gardens and grounds beautiful kept. The beach is extensive and spacious. Service in the restaurants went beyond expectations, especially in the speciality ones. Service was top notch. The staff was cheerful and upbeat, while being respectful and professional. The rooms very spacious. The bathrooms a bit different design to North American design. Thanks to trip central travel agent Karol Chareza for recommendations, and his efforts for saving and redeeming our vacation plans, involving cancelled Air Canada Vacation flights.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Don't do it

No AC for 2 days. Fake alcohol. Unfriendly staff. Food that will give you the runs. Very old. Seaweed was all over the sand and in the water. Every 5 minutes you will be bothered on the beach to buy something. Just don't do it. Worst resort I ever been to.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Very good resort

Everything about the resort was very good, the staff was fantastic. The only complaint I would have is the common areas, hall ways, including the many lobby bar area had no AC, it was very hot made it uncomfortable.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Excellent Resort

This is a beautiful resort with so many amenities. The food was excellent and there were many options at every meal, so you will always find something to eat. The hotel room and the grounds were very clean and well maintained. Restaurants and other places were easy to find because of the layout with the central avenue/walkway leading from the lobby to your rooms and the beach. There were lots of beautiful places to sit and have a drink or observe others enjoying themselves. Now for the negatives! The staff were over worked and always looked tired, so hence were not engaging at times. Service was slow in some restaurants. The music and entertainment was always in Spanish. The Piano Guy was excellent playing a variety of music for everyone!!! Given the large percentage of English speaking guests, it would be courteous to have some entertainment in English. I heard many other guests comment about this situation. If you need more tourists address this problem! The beach was terrible with weeds and rocks and was not swimmable!!! Management needs to focus on fixing this problem. You could lie on the beach but that was it! Other resorts clean their beach!

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana: Good resort

The staff was excellent. Always had a smile and wanted to please you. The hotel itself had some issues in the rooms. The door to the bathroom did not work despite being fixed once and the rain shower was iffy. The good was good but not great. The wait times got some of the restaurants were way too long. The buffets were really good and behind glass so the staff had to serve you.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Amazing Resort

Great hotel, clean, super grounds, but entertainment not so great! Amazing staff, so nice rooms, bars and pools, should also add some more dancing during the day on the beach. .

Ocean El Faro: Fantastic time!

Spent a week at this resort and had an amazing experience. We were told the resort was 98% capacity but there were still enough chairs at the pools/beach for everyone. The service was top notch and the entertainment team is excellent. Can’t say enough good things about them. Highly recommend!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Fantasia the Dream Palace for kids!

Date: June 2023. We loved this resort! From arrival to departing the children enjoyed every bit and can't wait to return. The food selections for picky eaters were great, the grounds were well kept, staff were courtious and tried their best to help when they could, night entertainment was perfect, kids club staff was great in keeping the kids busy (painting, crafts, feeding the fishes, baking cookies etc) Considering time of year, sea weed was an issue on the beach with high tides.. Grand Bavaro Princess: Better resorts out there

Grounds well maintained and clean, pool and beach also well maintained and cleaned and beautiful, the food and service was horrible, food was repetitive and didn’t have much at times or selection. The restaurants for reservations were horrible. The whole resort works off of wifi for menus and reservations, however the system the week we were here crashed several times and they had no backup as to what to do, we asked a few workers and no one seemed to know anything just kept whirling you aroun [... read more]d in circles, locals are allowed on the beach and bagger you to buy items every 5 mins, and let’s not forget the fact out of a 7 day stay we had to call 5 times out of the week cause our maid didn’t out towels in the room and when you call they would say we are sending someone now and you would wait hours and not for just towels for a cart ride or anything for that matter, safe didn’t work in our room we called and no one ever came to fix it, our fridge didn’t work for 4 days and finally someone came on the 4th day to fix it after being persistent. Save your money, I am sure there are better resorts out there. Not worth the money we paid that’s for sure!

Beauiful grounds, excellent service. Algea started in June however. Hotel closing for renovations of the air conditioning the bathrooms and orher amenties that are due. Hotel on the older side but still very clean. Pools are huge. Wonderful week.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Average resort

Rooms need to be upgrades! Bathrooms were definitely not 5 start ... I would say 3 stars. I was disappointed to understand a the resort, my package included only 3 A la carts.. and they were very disappointing. Especially the Indian Thali.. service was bad and food even worse I was very disappointed with the Grand Bahia Bavaro resort

This resort is beautiful, ground is well manicured, clean and maintained daily. Room was spacious, AC, fridge, safe, shower etc all in good working condition, was clean and with all needed stuff in it. Restaurants are clean, lots of quality food, lots of waitress ready to accommodate guests.

Terrible customer service. The hotel front desk give limited information. Customer service act like you are bothering them when you ask something. We didn't feel welcome or wanted in the hotel. You have line up for food and never enough. Also, you have to asking drinks and they never bring, they never give spoon and never have enough plates. No one wants to talk you.

Ocean El Faro: Nice Place but very rude an unpleasant staff

Where do I start. Well this was our first time in the Dominican and definitely our last. Ocean El Faro is a big resort and very clean and nice place. The thing that gives it a bad reputation is the staff. We got there on the bus and tour guide gave us the nicest welcome. As soon as we got to the hotel the staff was just rude and stuck up like they were better than us. This was shocking because we have travelled all over the world and have never been treated like this by hotel staff and on top of [... read more] this we were tipping daily and generously which made me more pissed off because we did not have to tip but we did it out of the kindness of our hearts. Mostly every employee we interacted with could not understand nor speak English making it very hard to order drinks or food. The waitresses at the buffet would give my wife attitude just for asking for a cup of coffee at breakfast or even for dinner asking for a drink. This kind of behavior was very un called for especially the amount of money we paid for this trip. The snack bar was just disgusting as all they served every single day was hotdogs and hamburgers on stale bread. The food was not the best. We got to the buffet when they just opened and the some of the food was already cold. The breakfast buffet was ok but still some cold food. The restaurants that needs reservations are a huge rip off due to if you don't pick the privilege package its very hard or impossible to get a reservation due to you can only book from 8am whiles the privilege package, they could book anytime which is why all the spots gets booked. This is very unfair because people paid big money to stay at this hotel and could not get a reservation at a restaurant to get a decent meal. The biggest Con at this hotel is the gift shop. This is beyond highway robbery. Due to Air Canada losing one of our bags I had to purchase some things for my son and myself and one small swim shorts for my 6 year old son cost $45 US dollars, one toothbrush $8 US dollars and for the lazy river you have to buy your own tube at the gift shop which is the biggest Con and they sell from $45-$100 US dollars. Just the biggest money making Con I have ever seen. Another scam is when you arrive at the hotel there are staff in white shirts trying to get you to join a premium travel club which we did fall for and paid $2650 US to join with an upgraded wrist band and promises like mini bar stocked up with premium drinks and concierge service to book restaurant reservations and when we paid and all was done non of it never happened, so we decided before the 24 hours to cancel and the manager in charge of that division was a very rude woman and tried yelling at us saying that we got the upgrades in which we had proof and showed her we did not. The saddest part this trip was for my sons 7 year old birthday June 24th 2023 and they promised us a small cake and that never happened. If I had known they were this horrible especially to a kid celebrating his birthday at Ocean El Faro I would have just paid for it but they offered us this when we joined the Premium Travel club. I must say This was by far the worst resort we have ever been too and will not visit Dominican Republic ever again. My advise to whoever views this review, watch out for these Con artist and prepare to get terrible service and mediocre food for the price it costs for this place. This was just a waste of money and very much regret going there.

The resort looks nice. The adult section is generally peaceful and is not crowded. Lazy river is fun. Beach is nice. But restaurants and cafe are far from the room. Service is slow. Not enough rinsing sections. A few are not working. Food is soso. Not much varieties and mostly salty. I will give 6/10 on food. They also close early. There is only one restaurant that opens after 11pm and is super far from the room. Most of the drinks are very sweet and we found some staff are rude with attitude. I really enjoy my stay. The hotel staff is very friendly and efficient. Is clean, well attended and maintained. The buffets have many options and very good and tasty. I have no complaints whatsoever. Really satisfied and happy!

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: A true Paradise called Punta Cana!!

We were very impresed with The Lopesan Resort and the quality of its service, food, recreation., rooms, the warmth and friendliness of all the happy and wonderful people who work at the resort. Beautiful beaches to make anyone fall in love with the resort. This is a true paradise!!!
