Hotel Camino del Mar: It was good but not great
We like smaller resorts so it suited us well. There were some issues on our arrival like not getting our room for 3/12 hours after check in time. When we did get our room, the key did not work for the door and the safe. And there was no bar fridge in the room. I went back to the front desk and they were going to send someone to fix everything right away. That did not happen that night. So the next morning we had to walk around with our valuables on us and leave our room door unlocked. So, after [... read more]
Hotel Camino del Mar: Would not reccomend
After arriving march 20th we found several items not working. No air conditioning in the main buffet area, staff indicated it might be fixed in may. We were on a third floor room with no hot water (no warm either) which was reported every day to front desk staff. After several days we went to front desk and the famous manager Carlos happened to be there and indicated to us that they were having problems with the third floor in regards to hot water. He indicated to please come back the next day a [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Nice resort
It was well kept and clean. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful...even the gardeners! The downside was that we were in Family Conciege and the dinner time at the buffet started at 6:30 (which meant 7:00 p.m.). Getting late for little ones. The evening shows also didn't start until 9:30. There was too much of a gap between dinner and the show. Food was okay, but not great. However, they make the best calamari! Overall, a good place to stay.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Very nice Resort
The resort was very nice very good service the beach was beautiful the entertainment was great the rooms were OK the ocean was beautiful we stayed for 10 days every day was beautiful we loved The ice cream parlour and we would come again for sure next March
Hotel Camino del Mar: Great Resort
Overall the resort is nice and you know it is a mature resort due to the foliage. There was a bit of a delay in getting our room but apparently they were upgrading some of the rooms with new mattresses, linens, drapes, etc. The food was always good and hot. would have liked to see the pool bar manned more often as the lobby bar maintained it and was not always attentive to it. The pool had a liner which I never seen in a resort before. I found them normally tiled or painted. This liner however h [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Beautifully landscaped resort
The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The beach is pretty good. Our room was spacious and clean. However, the air conditioning didn't work very well and we woke up to a flood in our room the first morning of our stay. The pipes behind the bidet burst. It's a good thing that our luggage and other belongings had not been left on the floor. Nobody was in a hurry to come shut the water off as it ran into the adjoining room, the room below us and down the stairs. When we asked for another ro [... read more]
Tryp Cayo Coco: Amazing
We had a great time. The people were lovely. Best beaches and the pools were very clean. We met a lot of people from all over Canada that have been coming here for many years. I was here 16 years ago with my husband and children. Lots of memories.
Melia Las Antillas: Very Nice Resort
The hotel is a bit older, but , the staff are exceptional. Friendliest, safest people we have ever met, all the way down to the gardeners. The housekeeping staff are wonderful, the bartenders are friendly and accommodating. The Buffett and Ala Carte restaurant staff are friendly and wait on you hand and foot. You cannot ask for better service at this resort. The grounds are kept up and have a lovely view from the lobby bar of the whole resort.
Paradisus Varadero: Fantastic Holiday
Enjoyed everything about this resort. The beach goes on forever meaning one can enjoy a scenic walk. The bay is a swimmer’s delight; although water shoes are helpful as there is a short zone of coral present. Plentiful loungers and palapas. Food was very good, especially the lunch bbq at the Cuban restaurant. The accommodations were basic-the bed was comfortable and pillow ok. The entertainment here was OUTSTANDING; from musical beachfront sunset serenades, to Cuban bands at lunch restaurant t [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Wonderful resort overall but the beach left much to be desired.
Perhaps it was the time of year but we took the time to take video of the beach which was full of rocks and seaweed. Walking to the ocean was treacherous. We had heard from many people of how the beaches are so great. There are nicer beaches in Ft. Lauderdale. The sand is tilled but the rocks stay behind. Not stones, rocks. Several friends have viewed the video and admit they have never seen the beach this way. The service at the resort was terrific! The staff are wonderful and warm. We took t [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Beautiful in every way!
This resort is beautiful and its beauty is a result of hardworking staff especially the entertainment staff who work tirelessly to make your stay memorable. The Music at Sunset, shows and a multitude of other entertainment was lovely. For Cuba the food was very good especially the bbq lunch at Playa Ranchon which was delicious. The beach was beautiful and the water warm. Had opportunities to go for a catamaran sail a few times which was beyond amazing and free. Also went snorkeling not too far o [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Potential but a long way to go!
2 weeks I’ll never get back. Thank goodness for the friends we made while we were there. I’m blown away by all the positive reviews. We’re not hard to please and being military, have stayed in some pretty deplorable places but none we’ve had to pay for. Don’t get me wrong, the beach is out of this world, the pool is beautiful and our room was okay but the service, cleanliness and food were beyond disgusting, with the exception of Alberto at the Snack bar. He seemed to take everyth [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Still the same great place
The staff people are still wonderful and friendly, the food varied and delicious, the site spacious and beautiful. After going for 5 years in a row we're looking forward to visiting again next year.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Another exceptional holiday at PRDOðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
As was the case in four previous holidays, this resort is exceptional in all aspects and most deserving of its 5 star rating. The accommodations along with chambermaid most pleasing and innovative. The food is excellent with excellent “special “ dining rooms and very extensive buffet. In our opinion the most outstanding asset is the personable, accommodating, polite and only too ready to please staff!!! They do everything in their power to ensure that your stay is both enjoyable and memorabl [... read more]
Memories Cayo Largo: Very Nice Stay
This was a very typical stay for Cuba. The beaches were amazing. The ocean was awesome. The service varied. Very very good at the lobby bar and at the dinner buffet. The pool bar was hit and miss and so was the Ranchon service. As for the food, well, its a buffet so you can always find something. Loved the pasta bar, the Ranchon lunch buffet not so much. No bbq s they were out of charcoal.
Sol Palmeras: Amazing Family Vacation
We stayed in a bungalow as a family of 4 (kids 14 &12) over March Break 2019 and had an amazing time. We have vacationed in Cuba in the past and enjoyed the food at this resort much more than at previous resorts. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, the grounds are beautiful and clean and the beach was perfect. Although this resort is a bit dated (although renovated in many areas), we would return in a heartbeat! Pros: - good food in buffet, large selection - a la carts Chinese a [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful resort
This is my fifth stay at this resort. Third time in royal service. I love this place. The grounds are wonderful and the staff are amazing. That being said, things were not quite up to par with previous visits. One of our favourite restaurants were closed which limited our food choices and there seemed to be a cut back in staff. Meals in Cuba are often inconsistant due to the lack of supplies but it seemed more so during this visit. I must admit that I will be following the reviews carefully next [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Wonderful resort
This was our 4th stay here and we have enjoyed the people and the wonderful family atmosphere. The food is excellent very clean pool. The dining room is very spacious and comfortable. Great entertainment. Plan on coming back next year.
Tryp Cayo Coco: Best beach ever!
The gardens were beautiful. The beach was the best - so soft and you could walk out a long ways before it was over your head. We loved using the kayaks, paddle boats, cataramans, etc. Had a relaxing massage. The food was good; although i was limited as they put peppers in a lot of food (I am allergic to peppers). I must admit the ice cream and the desserts were wonderful. The staff were so friendly and spoke English really well. Our room was clean; although dated. Oh, the a la carte`s were [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Not the four star hotel we were expecting.
The grounds were beautiful while the rooms were sadly neglected and badly in need of repair. Two of our three rooms had leaks. One bathroom door was very difficult to open/close. Our first room had a strong smell of mould! Some of the staff were very helpful while others were not. The buffet food was good while the Cuban and Italian restaurants were very poor. The Japanese restaurant was a treat as both the food and the service was wonderful and we all enjoyed our warm welcome by the staff. Unli [... read more]
