Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort

This is the first solo trip and I’m very happy I went to this resort in that wonderful destination. I have no complaints whatsoever and I look forward of coming back in the future. Everything was top notch!!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Decent Resort

Overall good experience however, some things to point out. We stayed in Villa 11 and the lighting in the nighttime was horrible. We had to use our flashlight on our phone to walk up the stairs. Amenities are dated and cleanliness was about a 6/10. Also, I have never experienced so many ants on a beach before. The workers pour people's leftover drinks into the sand. I understand it's difficult but, maybe get a bucket to pour the sweet drinks as it is a bit unpleasant. At times, the customer servi [... read more]ce at the buffet took a long time and there were times when we would not get our drinks. Also, please label your food accordingly at the buffet (people have certain dietary restrictions). On the positive side, the food was amazing and had a great selection. I, especially loved the pasta and omelet bar. We also, loved the pool and the waterpark for the kids. Staff was pretty friendly and accommodating and entertainment in the nighttime was good.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Family friendly hotel, excellent

Overall everything is good, but need to train staff to speak English, was very limited. Also need to put proper labels on food trays. The beach needs to clean more frequently, too much seaweeds. Very nice lobby entrance, bar is easily accessible for all kinds of tasty drinks

Caribe Deluxe Princess: We had a great time!

This was my 2nd time staying at this resort, it is beautiful and is on a beautiful stretch of Bavaro beach. I had low expectations for this resort and ended up having a fantastic vacation. The grounds, pools, beach, buffet, restaurant and rooms are really beautiful and well maintained. My room had a strong dampness odor which I acclimatized to after a minute of being in the room. The buffet offered plenty of food and quite the variety but most of it wasn't what I like but I had no problem finding something to eat. For the à la carte restaurants I tried Asian, Brazilian and Tex-Mex. They were alright, was a nice change from eating at the buffet. The café near the lobby that makes good coffee only opened at 9 am and the bar at the beach also makes a very good coffee but they open only at 10 am. For beach towels you need to pick them up at 8 am or else they may not have any if you want them later. It wasn't very busy when I went in June so there was always lots of lounge chairs available on the beach, and the beach is a dream, there was only a bit of seaweed which was removed daily. I read many reviews in which people complain about the bad attitudes of the staff and the locals, but honestly, I didn't think that they behaved worse than folks back at home. I had a fantastic vacation and I may very well come to this resort again.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Good experience

It is a good hotel, family oriented, we liked our stay very much, but there were small things that could be changed to make the resort amazing. First of all, the front desk was not always helpfull, i asked for a room on the first floor, with a bathtub and a crib for the baby, and i spoke spanish (i found that their english knowledge for most of employees was very poor), and the person at the front desk just said ok. When we went to the room, it was at the 3rd floor, with shower and the bedroom [... read more] had 2 double beds, which i did not even request and he did not even ask me. So without unpacking, we went back, and asked for another one, this time the front desk did a wonderful job, to bad i did not retain his name to write a BIG thank you! He gave us a great room: first floor, near the beach, king bed in the bedroom, bathtub in the bathroom. Then, we had to call several times and go in person just to fix tv problems and crib which was brought to our room at 10 PM when we were sleeping, they just opened the door and pushed it in, when we did not answer the door. Second, the waterpark, the water was not cleaned, especially in the kids pool, our baby had the hand feet and mouth disease, which ruined our wonderful vacation routine for 2 days; pretty sure from the water she drank in the pool. The rest was good, food, resort pools, activities, bars, kids club.etc. I would come back, but at least if changes in the 2 mentioned areas will be done. And I would recommend it to families and friends, but advise them of the issues, so they could decide by themselves. The overall rating would be 3.5 stars.

Hotel had no elevator had to climb six flights of stairs .didn't clean room everday TV didn't work lock was broken had to ask several times for room to be cleaned and stocked with water towels toliet paper pop

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Good times at Caribe Deluxe!!

My husband and I just returned from the Caribe Deluxe a week ago and we really enjoyed our vacation. We were greeted with a warm welcome by Anna Victoria at the reception. We requested a room with a pool view and had to pay a little extra but it was worth it. -Grounds: impeccable! so beautiful! Everything is walking distance, or you can take the trolley. -Rooms: Newly renovated, comfortable bed. *If you need anything, just ask the maids and they will bring you what you need. We requested extr [... read more]a pillows and a blanket and extra bottles of water and beer. They don't provide facecloths, which is typical, so we always bring our own. The maids start working early each morning so just go in the hallway to find a maid and ask for what you need. I always bring little gifts from home, such as soap, make up, clothes that I don't wear anymore, they absolutely love it! -Beach: Beautiful, not overly crowded at this time of year. -Pools: Very nice, clean. We had a lot of fun at the foam party and the animation team was great. The afternoon competitions are so funny! -Restaurants: We went to the reservation desk and got reservations at many restaurants. The Teppeniyaki was our favourite. -Buffet: The food was just ok.It would be nice to have more variety. -Bars: The alcohol is their local brand and low in alcohol and tastes watered down. lf you drink rum and coke, for example, I prefer to buy my own bottle of rum at the market and mix my own drinks. Overall review: This resort is a smaller resort, so don't expect the Bahia Principe. We paid a decent price for the value of this all-inclusive. There are a lot of mosquitoes, which are almost invisible to the eye. I got bitten all over and my husband hardly a bite! Bring mosquito repellent and after bite, or you'll end up scratching your legs for the entire week! Lastly, something that is not on the review list which is what I call THE VIBE: Feel the warm breeze through the palm trees, the hot sun, the birds singing, smile and say Hola to the friendly hardworking employees, the vendors at the beach, the entertainment team, the music playing, meet new people, learn to take it all in and to relax and enjoy your vacation :) :)

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: AMAZING RESORT.

Exceptional and Incredible Resort. Amenities and Services was above and beyond our expectations. Unique vacation experience, great adult resort. Lovely Beach Front view close to all amenities. Location, and cleanliness was excellent. At the Main Buffett everyday consisted of a different theme. Abundance of food, pastries and fruits. Coffee shop and sports bar is a must. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: A FUN TIME AT AN AMAZING RESORT

I’d like to shout out to Albert from the Lobby bar, Jerimias and Jesus at front desk, the Entertainers Jose, Carlos, Braynel, Edwin, Rayki and so many more. JEAN (cart driver) WE LOVE YOU❤️. Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: It's "okay" .. needs some improvement

It was okay for the most part .. the pool is beautiful and the beach is gorgeous but that's about it. The food at the specialty restaurants was very poor qualify. We ended up cancelling most of our reservations after the first two and ate at the buffet for meals instead. The staff, while friendly, tend to be pretty unprofessional (yelling across restaurants, taking shots with guests at the pool) The rooms are acceptable although they do need quite a bit of work once you look closer. Mold on the [... read more] walls around the AC vent, Our fridge never really got cold and they only had beer, no liquor like in Mexico. We had no cold water the entire time .. hot water only to shower and brush our teeth. Our door lock was broken the entire 10days and would lock us out of our room every single day. We called maintenance, managers, concierge and absolutely no one would help us, they kept saying to come to the lobby to get new cards (the battery in the door handle was weak) ... The pushy vendors and the Privilege Club reps were awful! Very aggressive both on the beach and with the P.C reps constantly hassling you while on holiday. They called our room at 8:05am the 2nd morning we were there, waking us up than again the next morning at the same time .. that time when I said no, they said they'll send someone to our room at 11am. They just won't take no for an answer. The pool DJ would sometimes play easy Caribbean style music which was very nice, but than would play very loud rave music and hwled constantly be yelling in the microphone over the music ... Very difficult to just relax by the pool. We'd go back to the Dominican forsure, but very likely not to this resort. We've been to Grand Bahia resorts before and Mexico is far far better than Punta Cana for food, service, resort and value.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Amazing Resort!!

Review Great first impression… The entrance looked stunning, and smelled wonderful. Check in was fast and easy, and the room was ready ahead of time We were told about the morning after arrival meeting to get an $800 resort credit and they sort of made it sound necessary, but it’s definitely not. We didn’t go and were never once approached by any sales people. The attention to detail is incredible: fresh flowers on the tables in the buffets and restaurants, fresh towels twice a day, turndown service, chocolates, daily snacks, bottle of Dominican rum, white & red wine, a variety of beverages, lots of bottled water, towels animals every night with rose petals on the bed, they treat each & every person like they’ve known them for years, and the list goes on…. The room was always nice and cool and it’s the first Caribbean resort where I wasn’t sweating my butt off in the bathroom while putting on my makeup. It was great!! The room did feel a tiny bit damp at first, but it wasn’t bad. I have never used damp rid, so I don’t know how effective it is, but I’ve heard others mention it before. I always dried off my swimsuits outside on the drying rack. The bath towels, hand towels and washcloths are plush, unlike other resorts and they give us the amounts everyday that we requested, which is not a typical thing at any other resort we’ve been to. All of the staff are “A”-mazing!! So happy and friendly. Always singing and dancing around. Our butler wasn’t the best, but one night he left a path of rose petals on the floor that led to the jacuzzi where he had run a bubble bath to surprise us. He had spelled out “love” with rose petals on top of the bubbles. It was fun… The buffets were delicious and always prepared so beautifully. We ate breakfast and lunch there every day. This is the first resort I’ve ever been to in Punta Cana that has unsweetened iced tea, which I love drinking at meals. (Usually I have to make it myself, which was nice not to have to explain what I needed to make it.) At dinner time we always ate at an ala carte restaurant (without reservations may I add). They all had fantastic food. Our favourite was the gourmet restaurant. Every night around 7:00 there were singers in the lobby area where the, “dance people” tried to get everyone to dance. It was always fun to watch and listen to. Every night at 9:30 there were shows in the theatre that were fun to watch. Thursday night was the white party in the parking lot that was probably very fun, but it was too hot the night we were there so we just went back to our swim-out to cool off. At 11:00 pm every night there is a disco below deck of the ship. There is also a pool table and dart board too. We went one night. It was fun. There were always palapas available at the beach. The beach was great. Easy to get in and out of too. There was very little sargassum, which never bothers us anyways. The water temperature was perfect. There were plenty of Cabanas and we had one every day. We did have to grab it fairly early though. That was really nice to have. There were always lots of pool towels, so we were never without, and they really didn’t limit you as to how many you could have. The pools were lovely but way too warm. Not refreshing at all, but it was very hot and sunny, so I would expect nothing less. It was never hard to get a drink at the pool. The waitress was great, and even the bartenders were very attentive. The activity staff were amazing and something was always happening. I’ve never seen so many different activities at a resort before. This is the first resort I’ve ever been to where the washrooms by the pool for spotless, and had somebody standing there to clean them after every person left! No disgusting wet floors, etc. Bugs were never an issue with us whatsoever, but, there was an evening wedding in the sand and everyone was getting bit by sand fleas, I assume. They must come out at night, because they were never a problem during the day. We had full access to the other Iberostar resorts and you could have someone take you anywhere on site by golf cart. One day we went to Caribbean Street to do a little shopping. The day we were leaving, our favourite hostess set up a special table for us to say goodbye. She put a white rosé bouquet and other tropical flowers on the table and folded our napkins in a different way. When we returned from the buffet, she had spread red rose petals around the table. She was so sweet, and it was such a nice surprise!! So, as you can tell by my review, the resort was amazing, and we will definitely go back again.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Great

The hotel was really lovely. We especially loved the beach, it was just perfect! Huge, lots of shaded areas, not crowded, with turquoise water and white sand. It's the best feature of the hotel, truly! The room they initially gave us was a no-go due to the bathroom that was basically in the room, with no privacy at all. I had to go back to the reception and they changed our room to a much better one (with a spacious private bathroom) at no extra fee. The food in the buffets was OK. My partner di [... read more]d have an upset stomach one day, though. This lasted 24 hours. Make sure to pack Pepto-Bismol since they charge 21 USD for a pack of those pink chewable tablets. Other than that, everything was great.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Amazing time at Grand Palladium Bavaro

Spent a fantastic week at Grand Palladium Bavaro. The staff were friendly, accomodating and always eager to help. The grounds, pool side and beach were clean all the time. Food was great and especially loved having the chance to experience all 3 of the hotels. Would go back for sure!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Expected more

The Hotel staff, ( dining area ) were extremely friendly, helpful, and extremely attentive with myself, but most importantly my LO one employee imparticularly would go above and beyond to always greet my son the 100 times he seen him! Thank you Frandy! The water park area was the show of the hotel for my LO, we spent most of our time there! But unfortunately nothing really got fixed as the moment the gentleman left the AC turned off an hour later, the following day inwent to reception and I was told I would get someone to check.. but unfortunately no one ever came. The room service was amazing, food was delicious. Not as much variety to choose from, but whatever was there was great.. the dining room food for dinner was extremely bland, same dinner everyday with only a few changes to give it the impression that there was different variations of food, we 100% preferred room service rather then sweating to get our food.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Amazing Resort!

Everything was really good people were very nice they work very hard to make everyone happy, yes there is line up to get drinks but there is so many of them and a huge amount of us they are doing the best they can, its not the end of the world to wait in line for a few minutes to get a drink

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Best resort with the best entertainment staff!

My favourite part was the entertainment staff, especially José, who made me feel so welcomed and excited for each new day! He truly made me feel like my vacation was too short! I will certainly be back as soon as possible and hope that he will be hosting more activities!!! He knows how to work the crowd! The food, the rooms, the pool and the beach all exceeded my expectations.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Awesome Resort-Think Twice About Sunwing

This resort was absolutely amazing. We were on a ground floor(which I am not a fan of) but this was a plus. Our room was in front of the koi pond that is the home of three gorgeous flamingos and they were in front of our room every day. The pool is unreal, never had this at a resort. The snack bar at the beach also amazing, awesome food and great location. The staff were absolutely amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. The fact there are no reservations for any dinners is an absolute plus, and the food was amazing. There were a couple of things, but not worth mentioning as I feel they were one offs and not down to the policy of the hotel. People had said the rooms were dated, but they were ultra clean and housekeeping was amazing. In my opinion if I am going to a country as old as DR I don't want to pull it in to the 21st century and stay in an ultra modern room. I want to feel like I'm living in a replica of the time. Everything worked and it was spotless I have some issues with Sunwing but again has nothing to do with this hotel. Huge shout outs to Noami, Wander, Alberto, Cecil, Kendra, Franklin and Adrian and so many more...we had a great time, excluding the sunwing experience and will be back in September.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Meh

This resort was SO BIG. The relaxing vacation feeling is lost when your balcony faces the employee shuttle bus parking lot, and when you have to step into the weeds to allow cars to pass on the shared walkway/road. Pools were a little dirty and there are constantly people trying to sell you things. There was a night in which there was no running water on the resort for hours and (brief) power outages. Pros: there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from and the food was good. The rooms were nice (although a weird shower design that gets water everywhere) and I liked that the mini fridge came stocked with different snacks/drinks. Large pools with different atmospheres (relaxing, kids area, party pool) and various night activities (theatre show, 24hr sports bar, disco, casino, adult pool open until midnight).

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Honeymoon

We recently stayed at the Ambar for our honeymoon and it was nothing short of a great week! The grounds are gorgeous and so well kept, the staff were friendly and quick to help out whenever you needed. The rooms were very nice and recently updated. Then mini fridge was slightly warm but the drinks in it were still somewhat cool. We ate at 2 of the restaurants M.E.A.T and the Italian, both were excellent. The buffets always has a variety of options and the food was always excellent. The beach was [... read more] beautiful no seaweed everytime we went down. We spent a lot of time at the pool area and the service was excellent! Marlena was amazing and kept bringing our drinks in a timely fashion. The entertainment staff were exceptional! Edwin and Tony were fantastic! They were so friendly and kind and made sure we had a great time along with lots of laughs! We will for sure be returning!

Ocean Blue and Sand: So so resort!

The Resort not too far from the airport, rooms are ample and neat, resort buildings are not too old. However, the hot tub was not working and we asked for repair no body responded. Food was not too bad, desserts could be much better. Dine in restaurants were good in terms of booking. Drinks were not the best. Beach is okay, not too wide, but no seaweed . Pools are well maintained. Resort was not crowded so for us was very convenient.
