Beaches are incredible. Food was very good and accommodations as well. Staff were excellent. We had a really good time. A little weird that the new renos for the bathroom didn't have a door, but we survived.

Hotel Vigia: Great Little Resort
Hotel was older, as expected, low staff and low occupancy and also saw a lot of rooms not using or under renovation. Visited here Nov 23-30 2019 and never saw rain, always sunny with a couple spotty cloud days. No more nude beach as the MGM is fully open and taken up the older west beach area. However, discreet suntan lines could get worked on to the east, just before the hobies and kayaks at the last few palapas.
Food was ok, lotta repeats, omelettes and stir-fry if you wan't greater than roo[... read more]m temperature meals.
Beach was magnificent, we walked every day to and from the east marina area and to and from the far side of the MGM. Probably not a place that i would return to but willing to go as a repeater to Sol Cayo Largo, just wish they were open in November, looking forward to going there in late winter/early spring 2020

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: amazing resort
No complains at all. Rooms clean and very good cleaned. Food very good with lot to choose. Swimming pools nice and clean.
service excellent.
no mosquitos at all.
We walked to Grand Muthu Imperial hotel (5 minutes walk) and were shocked how empty, quiet and very dark in the evening. We were lucky we stayed in Grand Muthu Cayo Guliermo.
Only what we missed is local village or town to walk around and see real life in Cuba.
Excellent staff who welcomes all like family. Grounds are immaculate. Beach is clean, lots of chairs and gorgeous clear water. Excellent kite school with lessons available. Kiting here is the best location in Cayo Coco/Cayo Guillermo. Great value for the price.
The resort was clean and the grounds well maintained. Beautiful beach and large clean pools. Great staff and the food was awesome as was the entertainment. Minor issue with the water but was not a normal event for this resort was just unfortunate things happen but was rectified for the most part.
I would go there againðŸ˜

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Paradise!!!
My boyfriend (30) and I (24) spent the week here for our birthdays. Wow wow wow, Let me say: when you arrive, you’re stepping into paradise! We spent extra to get a suite, which was well worth it. I would say we had the best location on the whole resort! Close to the pool/buffet, a beautiful lake view with tropical birds, and close to the ocean! 3901 all the way!
Food: We definitely had the best food compared to all the other resorts (just from talking to other tourists on the buses). The [... read more]food is all fresh, and the CHEESE is the best I’ve ever had! Remember all the food is fresh, so they don’t need to be seasoned as much as North American food! But should you want it to be, they have salt, pepper, hot sauce, oregano, etc for the chefs to add to your liking. If you are a strict vegan it would be harder to eat here although you could do it. They have an abundance of fruit, hashbrowns, pastries, Salad, etc., but the food actually prepared by chefs is usually cross contaminated because being vegan/vegetarian isn’t a thing there, but they are accommodating! I’m vegetarian, so if you are too, I recommend the buffet as they have a delicious pasta bar with homemade sauce (white and red)! My body got so used to eating fresh food with no GMO’s or preservatives (cause everything’s grown in Cuba) that when I came back home me and my boyfriend got sick from eating North American food! So I recommend when you get home ease into ordering that burger!
Excursions: If you want to do anything extra away from your resort I recommend talking to your airline rep on the resort! For Air Canada ours was Yanelis! She was amazing. If you book through her you get 30% off your spa day: we did a couples massage, mud mask, reflexology, and I got my hair braided. The spa is gorgeous - this was by for my favourite day. We also booked a beach party through her that all the resorts can go to - it included dance lessons, an afro Cuban show, and dance party. Our host was fantastic!! I don’t think there’s a Cuban that can’t dance btw! We also did an all in one which included going to the main land, horse and carriage ride, private band with their staple pina colada drinks, then their dolphin rescue where we swam with a mom and her 4 year old, and lastly scuba diving!!! I recommend the all in one because you can spend more of your vacation days relaxing at the resort while also doing everything on your list in one day!
Beach: jaw-dropping, beautiful turquoise water. I recommend the diamond club especially for the beach, so you always have a chair available, and drinks brought to you. Always lots to do here like dancing, volleyball, water workouts, and snorkelling. You can always pay to go boating on the beach, but I recommend going through your airline rep as it’s safer and cheaper than going with the local guy. But people still do it! It’s just a smaller boat and more bumpy.
Entertainment: I think the motto of Cayo Coco is if people aren’t dancing, it’s time to make them dance! At the end of the day it’s your vacation, so you can do what you want - but It’s worth letting your hair down, and joining the dance! Also, their nightly shows are fantastic! Their dancers have gone to school for this so they are professionals and know what they’re doing. It’s amazing to think that kind of entertainment comes with your stay at the resort. Also, the entertainment in the bar with the piano is top tier. Sax, guitar players, singing, dancing!
Staff: Very professional and kind. They make you feel safe and at home. Our maid Madeline had our suite looking and smelling amazing every afternoon! The animal shapes she could fold with our towels were so fun! Also, you can’t walk anywhere without one of the gardeners saying “hola!†Or checking up on you. It was a great feeling. Chefs, bartenders, servers, everyone was on point. You can tell they are diligent with their training across the board.
You can make your stay at Memories Caribe anything you want it to be: a relaxing vacation, a party, adventure, or a little bit of everything!
We will be back soon Memories!

Melia Cayo Coco: Melia Cayo Coco - Si!
another beauty stay at the MCC (our 4th visit). the staff was very welcoming - several remembering us even though it had been 4 years since our last visit. luckily we had consistent great weather and enjoyed our walks on the beach and the grounds. Food was fine, especially the International. the Repetitive visitors dinner was a nice recognition event (lobster!) The birding was a little leaner and other birders noticed the lack of some favourites like the Emerald Hummingbird but apparently t[... read more]he hurricane not only wiped out much vegetation but also some birds. hopefully they will come back. Melia Jardines del Rey: Good resort
The boulevard needs to be repaired because the grout lines make it hard to walk on.
Beach is nice. Has lots of shells.
Rooms are good. Lots space.
Most employees are friendly and accommodating
Food types should be identified so people would know what is being served.
Food and beverage supplies made some of our vacation days disappointing
Checking in was easy.
Nice to see they are improving the landscaping.
Pools were clean but water was cold.
It was nice not to be hassled by [... read more]vendors on the beach.
The beach should be cleaned to get cigarette butts and garbage out of the sand.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Could be better!
Beach-good, rooms-good, food -hardly 3 star, they don't care how to cook, dirty feel ,smoke in the restaurant, Wed nov 27 some bosses came for the conference - the food was better. Not enough fresh greens and fruit. . Entertainment - same dancers every night.. Not diluted vine only in a Sport bar. Bad management although lots of resources invested.(((((((

Melia Costa Rey: Good Resprt
The Pullman is a good resort. I say good because it was good food and good drinks but the room was rushed and the pictures online were deceiving. The staff was incredible and the entertainment was great; especially the horror show! For the A La Carte restaurants, I really enjoyed the Italian and Japanese restaurants but for the Cuban restaurant I wouldn’t go back to! All in all a good resort and would give it 2.5 to 3 stars!

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Super resort
This resort was great! The food was better than expected (I didn’t have high standards because it’s Cuba). The bread, pork and beef were fantastic. The Indian À la carte was phenomenal. The staff were really nice and loved our two little ones. This is a great resort for families.

Hotel Playa Coco: Do Not Book Here!!!!!!
My husband and I had stayed at Hotel Playa Coco 2 times in the past and we have a fabulous experience. However, on this trip it was absolutely terrible!!!! I would not recommend this resort to anyone at this point in time. This resort should not be advertising itself as a 4 star anymore, maybe 1 star.
Upon arriving the dj was set-up in the lobby making it so difficult to hear what the front desk staff were saying and the music echoed throughout the lobby - instant headaches!
We were taken to [... read more]our room and once inside the musty smell was very overpowering, however we thought that once the sliding door was open this would air out, but there was not screen on the sliding door to keep the bugs out. Upon further inspection of our room, there was no dresser to unpack our clothes, the safe was broken and the toilet didn't work!!!! That is a very important component!!! We went back to the front desk to advise them of the problems and of course there was nothing that they were able to do that night, so we stayed in our room.
First thing in the morning we went back to the front desk to advise the new day staff of the problem and were told that they were calling a service technician and should arrive around 9-ish Cuba time.
While we waited, we went to the buffet and ate breakfast, the selection was not very wide and not overly impressive.
The only thing that still looked nice was the pool and the beach!
What saved the vacation was speaking with our Air Transat representative, who patiently listened to our concerns and when we requested to move resorts to one that was liveable, he was able to do this and we were moved to Hotel Playa Paraiso - which was wonderful!!!!!!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Okay Resort
The resort is a 3 star. Food was cold at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and supper. Not sure if they had problems with the warming stations. So have the roasted pork which the person serves you. Or have them cook the meat for you. We did diamond club and ate breakfast 6 mornings at the Mediterranean Restaurant. This is a nice quiet place to eat. Those girls were awesome and we had the best breakfasts there.
Please insist on showing your booked reservations for this hotel. Make[... read more] sure you get the room you paid for. Our room was sold and we ended up getting our room the next day which is a bungalow. After complaining and he admitted to me that he sold our room. Al Fresco room is a bungalow. With an outdoor shower and a bathtub and indoor shower. It is very dated and may not look clean. The 2 story walk up rooms are beautiful and have been redone. The only thing, is their is no door for the bathroom. You will have to ask to have your bed sheets changed and ask them to sweep and mop floor. My maid only made the bed everyday and made a nice towel animals. I did tip and gave gifts everyday.
The beach is amazing and the waiter on the beach was great. Yes you can save seats even though their is a sign saying not to at the beach. The pizza hut they have on the beach makes tasty pizza. Hot dog was good burger not so great.
If you love long beaches where you can go on forever walks this place is great. Pay 25 pesos to go on a catermeran to snorkel is awesome. My husband said the fishes he saw is what he would have seen Scuba diving.
I don't think it is worth to pay diamond club. Basically you get to eat breakfast in a quiet restaurant in the morning and lunch twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Some good, some not so good!
The good: the beach was very nice, with clean, white sand and the ocean is that gorgeous blue! We were in building #4 and the rooms were clean (although my boyfriend did kill one cockroach in our room, but it's the tropics, so.....). However, the king-size bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were horrible. My friend was in building #1 and her bed was very soft and comfortable, so I'm not sure what the standard is for this resort. The 2 pools were nice; the hotel is l[... read more]isted as having 4 pools, however, two of the pools are "kiddie pools" by the children's play area and not for adults. The grounds and walkways to all areas were clean and well kept.
The one significant complaint that we had is that we upgraded our stay to "Diamond Club" and paid $110 per person (CAD) for this for 6 days for "superior services" and it wasn't worth it. Most times it was difficult (if not impossible) to get wine anywhere and the "Diamond Club area" in the lobby bar was not serviced by a bartender as much as the "regular" bar area. In addition, the premium alcohol was not available at all of the bars and they were constantly running out of mix (i.e. cola, tonic, etc.). However, the one Diamond Club restaurant where you could make reservations for breakfast and lunch everyday, did have wine at all times and great service. The beds on the beach were a nice bonus too.
