Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Fantastic!!

Spent Dec 1-15th at this resort and it was wonderful! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of check-in. If they know a full bus load is arriving they should be prepared with more than two people. They could possibly hand out the papers you need to fill out while on the bus to help a little bit - still would need more people at reception though like I noticed at other resorts. One saving grace was that the bar served us drinks while we waited without having the resort bracelet on yet. Never saw any dirty bathrooms or the dirty dishes like some of the reviews read. If you travel you learn that a lot of people are so uptight they think 1 piece of toilet paper on the floor makes a resort trash. Or they think they are high and mighty that one dirty plate makes a resort horrible. These people will always be at any resort and you just need to look past these people and enjoy what's around you!! Yes, the rooms are dated but they have what you need! I had emailed the resort requesting an ocean view as I have never had one in my travels yet. They accommodated and every day I was amazed at our view and that made up for anything (like fighting the patio door to close all the time) that went wrong. Our shower was also plugged, I never did complain though as I thought perhaps it was normal. But it was fixed after housekeeping probably saw it. Housekeeping was great as well as water/pop in the fridge was everyday for us. We did actually have a two day miss on the water so that evening we just went to the front desk to let them know. Water was sent to our room right away. The first 3 days were perfect weather, making the beach absolutely beautiful, no seaweed. With the cloudier days the seaweed does roll in as well as the water is not the clearest. Does not stop you from having a great beach day! Always lounge chairs available, Always shade huts available as well. Never had any troubles with towel exchange. The second week was when my son and I really noticed mosquito bites and noseeums or sand flea bites. Some other people we had arrived with noticed this as well. Aloe seemed to relieve the itching for a bit but the intensity of the itch is soooo different then Canadian mosquito bites!! So that was the only reason I was looking forward to going home was to not to get bit anymore!! Great variety of food and no troubles with hot dishes, they were hot! All the chefs at the fresh stations are wonderful! Food was replaced constantly, they were on top of it! Entertainment was good. It was really nice that in the second week we were there the shows weren't repeated! Different the whole two weeks. Even had a show done in the pool which was beautiful! I would really like to mention this detail if you are planning on doing excursions with the speedboat or catamaran. A detail I wish I had known - the snorkeling mask and snorkels are basic and very used ones! If you have your own, bring them!!! We did the catamaran and its hit and miss if the mask works as well as there really wasn’t enough!! We made it work and enjoyed the fish, we took crackers with us and the fish literally eat from your hand in one of the spots they take you. When it came time to do our speedboat excursion we brought our own masks/snorkels. Glad we did as it was the same old used masks/snorkels. Also if you bring snorkels, swim around the pier, all the fish are there!! bring crackers or banana to feed them Take a walk all down the beach. Different parts of the ocean along the walk are amazing! We had our 9 year old try kitesurfing and would highly recommend that if you have a chance! Andre was fabulous with our son, the whole staff was great! We took the double decker bus to the market. Slightly cheaper for items but not enough to worry about prices. What's offered on the resort is plenty. We also took the bus to Playa Pillar which is a stunning beach! They do have lounge chairs but you do have to pay to use them. All in all I would absolutely highly recommend this resort if you want a nice relaxing vacation with almost no worries!!!! Two weeks is perfect to enjoy it all!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: A Beautiful Resort!!

The Iberostar Paraiso del Mar is hands down, a five start Resort!. We stayed the last week of December and into the New Year. I can't say enough good things about this resort. It was my first time travelling at Christmas and I thought it was going to be incredibly busy but this resort is so big, you never had to wait for anything and it was never crowded. We shared the pool and restaurants with the Iberostar Beach Resort. This resort had a mini mall and more restaurants we could use, in [... read more]cluding a taco bar, burger bar, ice cream and crepe bar, casino, spa and gift shops. The grounds of the resort were always cleaned and well maintained. Lots to look at, very picturesque. Trolley carts with drivers were always available to take you anywhere around the resort if you didn't want to walk. The staff and servers were so kind and generous. Always made sure you were well taken care of. We always tipped well to show our appreciation. The food was amazing. Always something new to try. I recommend the Japanese Restaurant as one of your a la carte choices. The waiter taught me how to use chopsticks. I ate my entire meal with them. The chefs put on a fabulous show and the food was incredible. If you didn't want to eat at the a la carte restaurants you could always go to the buffet. It was large and had endless delicious food choices. The pool was incredible. I stayed in the quiet zone because I wanted the opportunity to relax and read. I purchased a float at the pool side store and floated my way to the swim up bar frequently to enjoy one of the many delicious drinks they offered. (the quiet area has one of the 3 swim up bars in it) . If I wanted some excitement, I floated on down to the other end of the pool area where all the games and music were happening. Foam parties, aqua swim, ninja warrior games. Always something going on. We had a standard room that was located closer to the buffet, lobby and theatre. Fresh sheets and towels everyday Mini bar stocked everyday. It was like walking into a brand new room each and every day. You cannot hear your neighbours. The only noise we heard was in the evening from 9 to 11 pm from the theatre when they had big shows. It didn't bother us and was not too loud. We were located on the 3rd and top floor of the villa. By the end of the day, we were tired and did not want to climb the stairs, but it was not the end of the world. We did not spend a lot of time at the beach. Although very beautiful, it was quite windy and the waves were pretty big. The red flag was out most of the time so you could not go in the waves but it was nice to walk in close to shore. The seaweed was a problem on shore I think because of the water conditions. There was always workers trying to clear it. It was not mushy or smelly. It didn't really bother me. You just had to walk through it to get to the water. (Maybe 2 feet wide. I guess you could describe it as rubbery plant like). I would definitely recommend this resort for families or couples and I would be happy to visit again.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing day at Iberastart Laguna Azul

Laguna Azul is Amazing hotel. The service is fantastic. The food and drinks are great. The installations are always clean. The night shows are beautiful. The people are incredible, they always have a positive actitud and are trendily. My family and Me had a really good time. Actually, my soon asked us to stay there more days, but we couldn’t. Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Worst rooms and service

I ll start off on the positive; food was good, beach & ocean was amazing. Most staff (servers) were friendly. Great espressos. And the negative: Linens super dirty with stains Beach towel dirty with stains Didnt make beds for 3 days Didnt refill toilet paper for 3 days Didnt refill water for 3 days Ran out of certain drinks And lastly the worst thing is the staff's expectation of a tip. Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Great overall resort!

This place was recommended to us as a nice medium sized resort for a large family of 10 adults and 8 kids ranging from 2-15 years old. I think everyone was generally happy. A couple of hiccups in the beginning with front desk not seeing our reservation of 18 in the system, but they figured it out and made it work. The entertainment was pretty good as well,..hit and miss depending on the night. Some resorts have major pros and cons, just as great beach but poor food, or great waterpark, but terrible beach. I think this place is not too flashy but it's good in pretty much all aspects.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: A great Trip

The trip was wonderful, and so was the resort. It was clean, people were very friendly, and engaging. The only issue was during check-in, when the hotel said they did not have our reservation, but the kind people at the front desk said it was "no problem" and to go have some lunch, and they will sort it all out, which they did.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Resort - OK Beach

The Iberostar Costa Dorada was a great place to stay. The food was good (not amazing), the staff were friendly and the entertainment were fun. The resort is a quick 20 minute drive from the airport and is located right on the beach with a view of mountains in the background. We enjoyed that the buffet offered a variety of options that were different each night. We liked the 3 a la carte dinners as well. We visited Bahia Principe in Mexico last year and I would say we enjoyed it a lot more (but maybe this is Mexico as a whole). For an affordable, small resort, the Iberostar will not disappoint. Also, if you have time to partake in the excursion to Paradise Island you will not regret it - what an amazing experience!

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Another Great Stay at the Quetzal

We love this hotel. It has a very Mexican feel which a lot of resorts are abandoning. (See Riu) We love the colours and the jungle feel. The smaller size of the resort also makes it very easy to get around. While there is less choice in the buffet than some of the larger resorts, the quality of the food is amazing! The Playacar beach is probably the nicest beach in the Mayan Riviera. The pool is great , however a couple more shallow areas for the kids would be nice. We only had a couple minor complaints about the Quetzal. 1) There is only one drink bar down by the beach which can get really busy. 2) The rooms are a bit on the small side with double beds instead of queens. This makes it a bit more cramped when travelling with small kids. However, the positives far outweigh the negatives and we definitely plan on returning to this resort.

This resort was beautiful there was lots to do very clean service was the best we've had the rainforest was breathtaking so many animals brightly colored and clean the live entertainment was very good too the food was great especially New Year's Eve and the staff the front desk the coffee shop the maids every person in there should be recommended because they were all wonderful not one person wasn't friendly we would go to this Resort again the brochure does not do justice to this hotel try it y [... read more]ourself you won't be disappointed

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Average Resort

I did not have high expectations going in when we booked our vacation at the Iberostar Laguna Azul. The hotels need renovations. In our room, the shower head barley worked, we had to use the tub to wash off. The flow of the bathroom sink was also very low. We went with a group of 8 people, 2 out of the 4 rooms were better in terms of shower heads. The beds were comfortable enough to sleep. The food was average but that is to be expected with all inclusive resorts. I highly recommend if you choosing this location to take advantage of these dinners. The beech and pool areas were beautiful! We spent most of, if not all our vacation on the beach. Not far from the shoreline there were little reefs that if you have goggles you could see tropical fish. We did not do any of the excursions as half of our group go ill but did hear good things. If you are going to travel in Cuba it might be wise to take Dukoral to try and avoid getting ill. Overall the experience was ok/average. I don't think I would go back but there were several people when we were leaving that adore the place.

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Wonderful stay

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: My first time..and will not be my last!!!

I was at first sceptical on going but in all honesty it was amazing!! The hotel was beautiful!! The staff was amazing!! A few people that should be called out was our maid she made our room beautiful every morning including towels made into new animals and rose pedals 🥰 the front desk clerk Fernando was very helpful! The man that worked the bar in the lobby was amazing very high on detail and fast paced and sooo friendly! The animals in the “jungle” were friggen gorgeous and soothing and exhilarating and overall I still can’t believe how amazing this stay was! I will definitely be coming back and bring a few new people with me to experience what I did! Thank you sooo much for giving me such a great memory of my First ever tropical vacay!! Oh and the beaches 😩😍😍just amazing

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Triple A all the way.

Everything was perfect.The location,the staff,the rooms were well appointed and kept spotless,the food was excellent and a good choice was always available.I spent ten days at the Ibero Playa Mita with my three children and their spouses as well as my six grandchildren and everybody was very happy and satisfied.And God willing,we would like to return next year or the year after.The beach and the pools were well used by all as well as many sports activities.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great time, great people

I spent a week at this wonderful resort. It is 16+ which is amazing if you want a break from small children. The resort is small and everything is very convenient and close. The beach is absolutely amazing and breathtaking, beautiful white sand and turquoise water. The food isn't the greatest and it was the same everyday. The people where helpful and amazing, if your a single person like I was, try and find Charlie. He'll set ya right up with others that have traveled solo.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful beaches, amazing staff with a room for improvement.

This hotel was perfect four our family of four with beautiful beaches, friendly staff and lots of healthy walking to get to where you want to go. The food was as good as we could expect for an all-inclusive and the kids water park was perfect for our 4 year old and our 2 year old. There is a ton of space in the rooms and we never struggled to find a shady spot at the beach. The Great: Beaches, staff, the drinks and the shade at the beach. The not so good: We thought how amazing it was that they didn't use straws at the beach which we loved to see but it was all ruined when on New Years their staff decided to use New Years poppers at the beach literally littering the beach and the water with thousands of pieces of small plastic; just terrible. Who ever approved this should be fired, it was a terrible decision. You could see plastic floating int he ocean for days later.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Excellent resort

The resort was very well maintained. The grounds were beautiful. The pool was clean. Food and service were great. Staff was friendly. Nightly music was very entertaining. Beach is amazing. You can walk both directions. Very safe.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Fabulous holiday

Beautiful resort, fantastic people. We had an amazing week. Weather was perfect. New Year’s Eve celebration was spectular. Unbelievable talent. Though the rooms were a little dated and not fancy, everything was fairly clean. Staff were pleasant and happy to help. The food was okay. Though the buffet was small, there was always something you could find to eat. The desserts were amazing.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Excellent Family Resort

Grounds: Were absolutely beautiful, and well maintained. Food: Excellent food in all restaurants and buffet. Service: The staff were all exceptional!!!!!! Flight: Had delays on both ways with Air Canada. The only complaint I had was that there was never any toilet paper or paper towels in any of the public washrooms at any given time. Would definately return.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great Place for New Year's Eve

Visited before in 2016 and found it has slipped a bit. We stayed in Spa section both times. Beaches and accommodations are excellent but food was inconsistent. Staff are the best especially Guerra and Danarys at the Pool Bar and Daimy in the Buffet. Dianne in Customer Relations was also very helpful. Maintenance of communal washrooms not the best. Distance from Santa Clara airport makes for a long bus trip and the service at that airport is not very good. However it's worth it once you are at th [... read more]e resort.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: This is a grand resort!

This resort does not disappoint, the rooms are wonderful with the wicker swing and couch on every balcony. The grounds are beautiful and the pools are gorgeous ( a little cold but nice). The food is exceptional and the New Year’s Eve Buffett was spectacular. Very decacadent with ice sculptures and the most amazing display of food I’ve ever seen. You can eat breakfast and lunch in the restaurant on the beach which had a lovely buffet and a killer view of the ocean! The restaurants are all outstanding and all the guests raved about the food all week. It’s certainly good for older people as they close the pool bar at 6 pm and the resort becomes quiet and serene and alive with tree frogs!!! We found the people super nice and the service very good. Please tip these hard working people as they really go out of their way to make your stay Fantastic!! The golfing was spectacular with breathtaking views and the caddy very helpful and knowledgeable.The men and women at the front desk were always helpful, our butlers were helpful and friendly and room service was excellent. The ladies who serve both at the pool and the beach were incredibly attentive walking back and forth in the sand with large trays of drinks for us to enjoy. The bartenders are also great and full of humour! We will be going back most definitely.
