Crown Paradise Club: good resort for kids

Our kids were 10 and 8 some of the events that they had for the kids were for younger kids, the kids liked that they could get their own specialty drinks. The food was ok at the buffet the a la cart were all delish they were good with our kids. Make sure you book a reservation early or you will get stuck at 830 for dinner.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Exactly what we were looking for

After reading some reviews we were prepared to have to compromise with a lot of things. That was unnecessary, the staff are top notch at this resort and while some things are a bit tired looking the character shines through. We were very happy with the value we paid for. I wasn't booking the Ritz so I didn't expect the Ritz. If you do, this is not your place to stay. Lots of options to keep everyone happy here. The location is great and the people were nice. Rooms were clean, drinks were full and the food was plentiful.....add smiling people to provide you with all of that and you're set in my books.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: grand occidental

Everything was perfect-staff, food,drinks, service and the beach. We especially liked the size of the resort with everything so close together. We never encountered a line up nor had to wait on service.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Very much enjoyed our stay here!

This is our third stay stay at an Iberostar resort (also stayed in Punta Cana twice) and it lived up to our high expectations. The staff were beyond excellent, from the concierges in 10 block (Candy and her associates), to the dining staff, and everyone from maids to gardeners was always quick to greet everyone. We had no problem getting pool or beach chairs (as you always do if you stay at Riu), no issue getting reservations for the specialty restaurants. The grounds are really lovely and always well maintained, as was the pool. My teenagers and us met so many great people to hang out with in our week there!! They posted on YikYak to meet up with other teens there. We stayed in 1010 in 10 block overlooking the fountain and we found it to be great location, quick walk to lobby and pool. Recommend the Steakhouse and Mexican restaurants; the Tepanaki Japanese was just OK -- I have experienced a better "show" at Bahia Principe. If I can mention a couple of minor drawbacks (and they were not really super important to us) the food at Riu resorts is better; there are not many stores on the property and none to walk to if shopping is your thing; the waves are strong most days (red flag on some, yellow flag on others) and so may not be great for little children but you can walk out quite far before being bowled over; the bartenders for the most part are just OK< not super friendly but not rude either. And the excursions are super expensive compared to similar resorts so we did not do them; we took a cab to Sayulita, the funky but congested beach surfer town 1/2 hour away (300 pesos or $15). Would recommend and wish you a happy stay if you go!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great resort, extremely good staff

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The resort is clean and comfortable, lots of activities to participate in, if you're interested in that sort of thing. The food is good/average but lots of variety. The beach and common areas are quite beautiful, lots of room by the Adults Only pool. Location is great, close to the airport and easy walking distance into Bucerias. I would stay here again!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Another Wonderful Trip to the Royal Decameron

This was my 6th stay at the Royal Decameron. Another stay in Paradise :-) Like the hundreds of others that come back year after year, this will not be my last visit. The resort has a wonderful charm. The staff are simply amazing. If it can be done, they will do it for you. They are such wonderful people, they become like a second family. They constantly clean everything. You can't miss seeing someone sweeping, moping, painting, cleaning. They are constantly improving and adding to resort. I wo [... read more]uld go back in a heartbeat, and hope that in the future when I retire, I will be able to go down for extended periods each winter, not just my normal 17 to 21 days that I have been doing.

Canto Del Sol: good value very clean

Hotel food and service 4* beach 2* location ok no problems with time share sellers or hassle on the beach.We had to get up early to get chairs in the shade at the pool but bar service was excellent at all locations. Rooms were clean but they need a update internet great in the room but slow outside near the pool

Canto Del Sol: Good Value

Very CLEAN. Staff is always cleaning floors, wall everything. Food was excellent at the three a la crate dinners. They went overboard for the Valentine supper. Five course meal. Buffet was good but not anything exceptional.

Crown Paradise Club: Amazing resort for all

The place was great. Rooms were clean, no bugs. Actually the entire resort was clean no bugs. There is a fabulous area for the kids to play with that is out of this world. There is also a pool for families (which was heated) and there was a pool and a large large hot tub for adults. Hot tub was headed and had the bar inside. The water is rough but that is expected there, but the beaches are clean. You do not need to fight for a chair or go put your towel down at 6:00 a.m. as there are more then  [... read more]enough lounge chairs available so there is always one where you want to go without having to reserve. There is a lot of vendors on the beach though but was told the beach is public so not much to do about it. but if you tell them no they go away. The food was good, a lot of fish and seafood. i.e. I don't eat that but I ate well as they have a good variety. Restaurants can be booked the same night but I didn't go as I found it sufficient enough at the buffet. So if your an adult and don't want kids well you can still go there and stay on the adult side but if you have kids, they have so much for them. Even to the fact that I'm considering sending my son and my grandkids there. They have four bars, but only 2 open after 6:00 p.m. (one in the lobby and one near the beach). The beach one is where everybody went. Never big line ups to get into the buffet either and staff were very friendly and all spoke English. Rooms are a little bit outdated but hey, do you go for the room or for the rest of the trip?? to me as long as it's clean and no bugs I'm good. I can't commend on the evening entertainment cause by the time we were all done we didn't go to any. Oh and you can have room service in your room free of charge (once a day) and the food is hot, good and delivered to your room within half hour. Casino is like a 5 minute walk (right beside the Walmart). On the right side of the resort there are booths with vendors (type flea market) which I went into town to those and honestly those right beside the resort have the same thing so I could have saved a trip. Buses are 50 American cents. The Canadian consulate is about 10 minutes away also so in case of emergency they are not far either. Right beside that resort there is another Paradise hotel which is for adults only. But to be honest, I was ok with the one with had. So all this to say all in all it was a very nice trip and highly recommend that hotel to your guests. It's not a 5 star but it's close to a 4 star for sure.

Vamar Vallarta: Average Resort

The rooms were clean and the pools were great. Need more daily activities to get the people involved. The food was ok but wasn't the great. The Italian rest. was the best. Great food and service. Eating breakfast with the birds was annoying.

Riu Flamingos: Amazing resort. More then a 3.5 star by far!

Riu Jalisco was amazing starting with the staff right down to house keeping. Food was awesome, very clean resort. No complains what so ever. My first time there and I would definitly return and recommend to my friends. Thanks for an awesome time!!

Riu Flamingos: Great resort for the price!

After reading other reviews we were not sure what to expect but honestly I have no clue what people are complaining about! Great food options, had no problems making reservations for the al a carte. The resort definitely is busy but it was upsetting to see that people save so many beach chairs with their towel yet don't sit there all day! But that says nothing about the resort, it was the guests!

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Near perfect resort.

The overall of this resort was Excellent. It wasn't 'perfect' so I can't give it 5 stars. What was perfect was the following: Service Cleanliness Bed Activities within the resort French Restaurant - Best meal I have had in a LONG time. What could be improved(minor quibbles): In room amenities(HD channels, soaps etc) Room service food quality - It was very poor. Compared to other resorts I have been to it felt lacking. VIP perks. Riu Flamingos: DISSAPOINTING

The food and liquor was very DISSAPOINTING. There was a shortage of staff throughout the resort making lineups quite long at times. Would not go here ever again. Same food everyday. No changes very poor grade of rum and vodka always short on.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Back again

Returned to the Decameron and was not disappointed. Location is great, a safe walk into Bucerias, to the market or somewhere to eat, bus to PV. Staff are great helpful, food is good, place is very clean and well kept. Go for a long walk on the beach, always something going on. Watch the iguanas being fed every day. It has a lot going for it.

Riu Vallarta: Riu Vallarta

I would recommend this resort to anyone. The place is very clean the staff very friendly and the food was excellent. Weather and the beaches were awesome. Lots to do everyday. Met lots of really friendly people from England

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Great resort!

Great resort, fabulous staff, food and beach. The resort is just a short drive from the airport. It's not a huge resort, which was refreshing. I went with a couple of friends and we all stayed in one room. In other resorts I've been to the rooms were definitely large enough to accommodate 3 people, where this was a bit small, but by no means too small and let's face it, we didn't spend much time in our room anyway. Just a note that very few of the rooms have balconies. I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat and recommend it to everyone!

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Good time

Arrived at this small hotel by taxi from airport . Hotel grounds and pool were well kept . Room was always clean and 2 water everyday , hot water for showers always .Food is acceptable but not what you would get at a 4 or 5 star. I never went hungry . The beach is a 5 minute walk (have walked farther at beachfront hotels ) . The weather was hot as we had hoped but a little humid as is Mexico . Bartenders were fantastic as were the animation team . Beware of Vanessa in the lobby trying to sell timeshares ( this is one thing that drives me batty , having the sharks installed in the hotel lobby looking like employees) and acting like they are working for the hotel ! This is only a 3 star and we feel we got 3 star service and worth the money 2 of us paid .

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great As Always!

This was our 14th trip to the Royal Decameron Complex. As always, the staff are friendly; the food and beverage is good; the entertainment is excellent; the grounds are manicured; rooms are clean and comfortable. Needs a bit of work regarding a-la-carte reservations, and their house wine could be upgraded. We'll be back.

Casa Velas: Wonderful Resort

You won't find a better resort for adults. It's luxurious, peaceful, safe, friendly and the service is excellent. The food is absolutely superb...no buffets...and two fine restaurants to choose from. There is a spa, a gym, yoga and cooking demonstrations. Tennis courts are a short walk away at their sister hotel or you can take their shuttle bus which will also drop you at their private beach club ...the hotel is set on a golf course. It's 5 minutes from the airport and a 20 minute cab or bus ri [... read more]de into the center of the city...buses run regularly and stop right at their sister hotel. The only drawback was the lack of a hot tub pool and the beach was a bit rocky where the waves broke.
