Secrets The Vine Cancun: Wonderful vacation

Resort is great for those who want relaxation and to chill out. Adults only. The music by the activities pool was not that loud and somewhat subdued. Mainly couples, and some friends/family/corporate/wedding groups. The various live performers each evening were amazing. The food overall good to very good. No reservations required and never had to wait if you go at their opening times. The service all around excellent. The 3 pools were 4'6" depth which is perfect to practise to swim. To get  [... read more]a chair with an umbrella you should go down somewhat earlier but they caution to not leave unattended for more than 90 minutes. Rooms were well supplied. Odd numbered rooms in general more quieter (unless there is outside entertainment) as even numbered rooms faced the hotel AC fans blowing so you can hear them mildly all day and night running. Smaller, boutique resort. Very good staff, food was excellent, rooms were quite spacious, some of the items in room were a bit older and worn (such as hairdryer etc.) beach was lovely and could be viewed from balcony or pool. Night activities at the resort were also very good and had excellent live music!

Secrets St. Martin: This place needs a lot of work

The staff at this hotel, every single one of them was amazing. Their hospitality, attention to detail is something you would enjoy and expect from a resort. The rooms are updated and very clean. The grounds are in good shape, and the beach is beautiful. The problem with this hotel, is its food. It is one of the worst food experiences in my life. Basic 3-5 ingredient food would taste better than what I was given, which is why i'm absolutely shocked by how bad it was. The most edible plates [... read more] come from the buffet. My first night I got food poisoning from "FRESH" red snapper, which is a total lie. It was rubbery and raw at the same time = flash frozen. But I couldn't see how it was cooked, because there is no light to inspect anything that you're eating. That lead to 2 days of nibbling on processed foods to become well again. The next time i tried a restaurant dish was a pad thai, that had a pool of straight oil and black and burned peanuts, which I became sick from again. The sushi rice was like eating glue. The next day in the buffet the sushi rice was cooked correctly and was edible, I must add. Many other items my wife and I ate were just technically prepared wrong, and didn't taste anything like what it was supposed to. She had a putanesca once, that was like dog food placed on top of linguini or tagliatelle (pasta was horrible texture). On that dog food, was thick cut pieces of serrano ham that had gone RANCID. Okay... RANCID, I put it in my mouth and tasted the rottenness and acidity of meat gone bad. The juices in the morning were fermented! Bubbles of fermentation on the sides of its glass, the taste of kombucha in apple juice? orange juice? pinapple juice? I'm the least picky person when it comes to food, I eat everything. I barely ate here. They need to fix this ASAP.

Secrets Huatulco: Would not recommend

Secrets Huatulco - things that were good: amazing ocean views from all areas of the resort; pools were larger than we expected and very nice; the French, Italian and Japanese restaurants had good food and service; house wine was decent; housekeeping did a great job with rooms serviced in a consistently timely manner every day; towel and toiletry supplies were generous and kept up. Now for the not so great stuff: lobby area is unimpressive; on arrival we received a cold bottle of water and hot [... read more] cloth - nice touch but where was the bubbly?; check-in seemed a bit chaotic because many people were in the lobby, and no staff member showed us to our room - they just pointed us in the direction we needed to go; check-in was for 3:00 (we got to the resort at 2:00) and we didn't get our room until around 3:30 and then still waited for our luggage for at least half an hour; had to go to the desk on our own to follow up on the when our room will be ready - no pager or call; no robes in the room; chintzy mini bar which was not replenished daily; the rooms are tired and run down - furniture is old and scuffed along with chips in mirrors, etc.; furniture in lobby is worn and dirty - even furniture in the Italian restaurant needs an update - ripped cloth and dirty; ground care is lacking; general upkeep is lacking; very poor lighting in the room at the sink area where one needs light to apply makeup; food at the buffet was ok and due to rumour floating around the guests we avoided the Oceana restaurant; none of the bars are inviting enough that you'd want to hang out and enjoy a pre-dinner drink; on the day before we left there was algae growing in one of the pools and the pool pumps were not working - nothing was being done about it and the algae just kept multiplying. Generally, our assessment would be that it seems this resort is in financial difficulty and the Hyatt needs to redo the whole place. It isn't representative of a Secrets experience as we've been to Secrets resorts in the past. We usually go to Excellence resorts who consistently win awards so that is our primary benchmark.

Staff from restaurants, pool, house keeping, valets extremely beautiful and hard working, spa staff , very pushy with sales for vacation, and a bit too much, food Amazing but not 1 day of lobster. Had to leave resort for lobster. Bought expensive bottle of crystal champagne, for my fiancé birthday he was celebrated with a beautiful decorated table and restaurant staff sang beautiful happy birthday. Overall clean and beautiful resort with amazing chefs and staff.

Secrets Huatulco: Not Impressed

Features of the Hotel are Tired and run down. Food is average and need a Dinner buffet. Beach has rough course sand. Evening entertainment sub par. Very noisy resort in the evenings from the music.Staff friendly but You can tell the Management does not have high expectations with the quality of the buildings and care of facility. Too much time wasted waiting for elevator going to eat or go to the pool. Definitely not a 4 1/2 star.

Secrets Cap Cana: FIVE STAR Experience

Chose this resort to spend a week away for a girls trip. Knowing it was likely going to be full with honeymooners and those celebrating anniversaries, made it even more compelling. We wanted something laid back, with some entertainment, but where we'd be able to get to sleep without the pounding disco music found in some resorts. The size of the resort was perfect, the room was amazing, clean and right by the pool. In fact, the beach done at the preferred side after some rain got very hard and uncomfortable. It is very safe. Didn't for a moment feel uncomfortable, and it being in a gated community means there is no one selling you anything on the beach. Lots of shade available and palapas that you can use. Get there early if you want the best ones at the front of the beach, but honestly they are all great! Just the right amount of activities during the day, some amazing live performances by the pool and at night they have shows, karaoke, and dancing outside in the lobby by the bar. Very laid back vibe. Dinner at every restaurant was superb, except the night we went to the Asian Fusion for a la carte. Service was slow, and our server was a little 'too friendly'.

Secrets Royal Beach: Beautiful But....

Beautiful Resort, I went 4 years ago and had the worst experience. They changed the name and upgraded the rooms, I had an amazing time and was impressed. Food was amazing, Pools were fun. I am not too sure why they say its a party resort. I feel the only people that were partying were the people I went with. I am 35 and I felt super young, its an older crowd resort so if you're over 45+ you will probably enjoy it. A few downfalls to mention 1. The Disco played the same music every night and the [... read more]y didn't take any requests. So frustrating! 2. You have to be "Preferred" to get Coronas or premium drinks. Id think spending over $3000 you'd be considered preferred but its an additional $1500 which I feel is unfair! 3. There are Drug dealers on the beaches..so be warned! Kind of unsafe considering their "shops" are right next to the resort. I don't know their names but Mini Mike Tyson, Sexy Beach Grill Cook, Fedel (not castro) you guys have been amazing and we love you!!

Secrets Huatulco: Excellent resort

We found the resort and all amenities to be very clean. The staff were accommodating and very friendly. If you are looking at relaxing this is the place. Entertainment was not great but all venues were enjoyed. The food was very good to excellent. Breakfast and lunches were excellent. The dinners are open to your own personal taste, we personally enjoyed the good variety and 5 course served dinners. Did not have room for desserts so got more creative with what we ordered for appetizers. You wil [... read more]l not go hungry at this resort. Bar service at the pool and beach excellent. People do not waste food at the resort and dish up appropriately. The beach is weather dependent with waves, however there is an area where you can take in the ocean most days if you want to swim or snorkel. The fish are colourful and there are 2 beaches to enjoy that are safe. Location to town is good only 85 pesos $7 CDN one way, I would recommend early morning visits to 11 AM or after 7pm evening excursions. Be close to water and in the shade from 11AM to 4PM to enjoy your stay, it gets stifling hot and the UV is at 12 so getting a sunburn can happen very quickly. We would definitely go back. Only one negative to the resort and it was the towel game, there were people putting towels and moving chairs at 4 AM to save a spot on the beach or poolside. This needs to be addressed by staff. However, the staff were always accommodating and helped us find chairs and shade fairly quickly usually removing someone else’s towels. They watch to see who was using chairs and who isn’t.

Secrets Wild Orchid: Enjoyable resort

The hotel was lovely and the outdoor spaces wonderful. Staff were friendly! Lots of hand sanitizer available! A special thank you to Monique from trip central who was very helpful!! We’d go to her again for help in planning our next trip !

Secrets Playa Mujeres: An absolute pleasure

Went in blind to this hotel, and couldn’t have been more pleased. Accommodations were clean. Staff was super friendly. Great restaurants and bars. Golf carts running you 24/7 anywhere you wanted to go. And, the beach, pool and views were epic. We will 100% go back.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Amazing Trip!!!

My husband and I went to the Secrets Aura in Cozumel in March 2023 and had an absolutely amazing time! The hotel was clean and well taken care of. Our room was wonderful, clean and comfortable. Our bar fridge was stocked on demand which was a great bonus! The food was wonderful and offered something for everyone. The staff were some of the nicest people I have ever met!!! So polite and welcoming. I will definitely be going back to this resort again and have already recommended and raved about it [... read more] to my family and friends.

Secrets Huatulco: Amazing resort

Loved Secrets!!! This is one of my favourite resorts - the food was amazing, the staff at the resort were so happy and helpful. The weather was incredible!! I loved how all of the pools had a different vibe - one was full of activities, music and had a swim up bar. The other pool had more shade and a calmer feel and the third was shallow with a hot tub. Secrets Huatulco: We loved everything about this resort

Best place ever. Food is fabulous at buffets and restaurants. People are great, helpful and ready to please. Pools are large with plenty of chairs. rooms are veryclean and spacious. Facility is large, modern with 9 floors and yet easy to get to anywhere. Beach is private and large - sand is grainy and water is warm. One area for improvement would be pool side music.

Secrets Bahia Mita Surf and Spa: Great Resort - Very Large and Beautiful

We stayed for 2 weeks. Grounds are beautiful. We had a Preferred room which was very large with a great hot tub on the balcony. Food was wonderful and such a great variety of food in both the buffet and the varioius restaurants. The house wines offered were a a low quality, the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Merlot were poor quality reds. Great place. Very clean. Great service. Friendly staff. The food and drinks were lovely. The views are amazing. Lots to do but never felt like there was too many people. We went as a group of 22 people and enjoyed every minute of it

Secrets Huatulco: Great Vacation!

For the most part we loved this resort. As every review mentions, the service is top shelf. Our only complaints are small things, which we only mention as constructive criticism. We were hoping to escape the "beach chair game" but alas, it was on in full force here, as is the case with other all inclusives. There were also little things that kept coming up, like no change to be had for tipping, good but underseasoned food, and lack of proper wine glasses. Secrets St James: Secrets St James

Resort was large and very clean, servers were generally good however several were not up to standard. Our outside tub didnt work even after 2 attempts to fix it. No beach to speak of and nite entertaiment was only Fri and Sat

Secrets Royal Beach: Amazing Resort is a perfect description.

Food was very good with a great variety and choice of different menus. I would strongly recommend the upgrade to the Preferred Club especially where the pools, choice of premium liquor and beer. are concerned. Enjoyed the nightly entertainment and the Spa. If you plan to book this holiday "Do Not" travel with Sunwing. Flight there was 1 hour delayed and return flight was 4 hours delayed with no explanation why except when you look at the flight time boards all Sunwing flights were delayed or ca [... read more]ncelled. My travel package included shuttle to the airport , no shuttle showed and we were forced to take a taxi ( $35.00 USD ). There was no Sunwing Rep.at the resort but we managed to locate one at another Resort the day before we left gave him our booking number and he confirmed the time the shuttle would pick us up ( No Shuttle ). Our travel agent must have known about the poor service and inconvenience that we would receive by booking with Sunwing. Terrible way to end a vacation especially after spending that much money.
