Melia Costa Rey: Melia Costa Ray is very nice resort in Cayo Coco Cuba

We just came back after spending one week at Melia Costa Ray Cuba. From the first minute when we got there and the last day we had an amazing time. The rooms are very nice and clean,buffet and restaurants are very clean,lots of food ,staff is very friendly and helpful . Beach is very nice and has lots of palapas . We definitely recommend to visit this hotel and we will be back there soon. The chef at the beach made delicious shrimp and paella every day,his name is I believe his name is Raule Very nice place to visit.

Sol Caribe Beach: Disappointed

My safe in the room had low battery. I had to call 6 times to get it open. The first time, the technician said that the batteries were low. He just reversed them. The next day again and it was like that for 6 days in a row. They finally put new batteries on the day before leaving. On some of the occasion I had to wait in my room 3-4 hours to get it open. My money was locked in the safe. I even missed breakfast twice. The food was not at par for an hotel that qualified themself has luxury. The restaurant a la carte food was horrible and very little choice at the snack bar, like overcooked pasta with plain tomato sauce. I thought Mélia hotel was luxury. I don’t think so. Never again. Book Iberostar, it’s much better. They ruined my holiday. I was very mad and they didn’t even apologize.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Very good resort

Very good resort, friendly staff, rooms clean and pretty new,beach is stunning, beach umbrellas half broken, when i was there june 18-25 the resort wasn't busy so we had plenty of umbrellas to choose from,I don't know how is it when the resort is full, food what can I say,not the best but you won't die hungry ? anyway you don't go Cubs for the food,long bus ride from the airport 1h40 min,after all I will go back definitely to this resort.

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Beautiful Resort

This Resort is top notch! It is grand the moment the bus turns onto the main entrance. Everything is clean, white tile everywhere, beautiful gardens and fountains. First class all the way. Staff contently cleaning, swiping, doing the gardens and pools and washrooms are spotless. Dining and Resturants are almost, overly staffed for continuous service and smiling the whole time to make you comfortable and satisfied. Bars..which were several..even on the beach made your stay very comfortable. Only hiccup I had..was the beach. Lots of sand where they could put it...but too rocky to enter and swim in the ocean. But you had several pools to enjoy the refreshing dip! Lots of entertainment, singers, dancers, different Every nite. Sunsets on the Caribbean every nite was picture perfect. We had absolutely NO problems to complain about. Loved it and the Cuban people.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Girls trip 2025

Spent a week at this beautiful resort at the end of May with 5 great friends. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming! Had a gorgeous view of the pool and ocean from my 2nd floor balcony. The room was comfortable and I was impressed with the water pressure & temperature in the shower. The resort is very clean. My maid was so sweet. She had my room cleaned every morning by 9am and always left swans or hearts with towels & flowers on my bed. Lots of fresh bread, butter, eggs every day, good breakfast sausages, yogurt, soups, salads, chicken and fish, hamburgers, french fries, papaya, mangos, rice, pickles, tomatoes, red beets, etc. The buffet had cooking stations for omelets, grilled fish & chicken, etc. The bars always had beer, gin & tonic, rum & cola, pina coladas, mimosas, mojitos. There are several stairs down to the beach but it was worth every step. Fluffy white sand and the ocean was crystal clear with so many shades of blue. There was a bar/restaurant and washrooms on the beach. It's not buffet style, they take your order and serve you. The views from the resort are amazing! We took some beautiful sunset photos of our group! Went on a horse & buggy ride to Guardalavaca. Our guide gave us lots of great information and pointed out things along the way. We stopped at a market with lots of vendors and a place to purchase beverages. There were also vendors set up in the lobby area almost every day at the resort. Shows in the lobby from 9-10 every night. We especially enjoyed retro night on Wednesday. We planned ahead and dressed up for the night. Had fun on the dance floor. The resort was very quiet with low occupancy when we were there so not much going on activity-wise. May be different in high season.

Melia Costa Rey: Stayed at the Level, not sure if we'll return

If you're new to the resort, take a downloaded map of the hotel with you as they don't provide a map whatsoever. There's a large map at the counter that you can take a picture of. After day 2 or 3, you'll get the hang of the layout. We stayed at the Level which has a few perks such as food choices. We arrived around lunchtime, so we went to the family side buffet as the check in person at the Level side told us that all the Level snack bar had were sandwiches which was totally incorrect. Let's  [... read more]just say that it was our first and only time getting food from the family side buffet. The line ups for omelets, fish, meat, etc were long. We were surprised how small the buffet area was for the family side. The next day we checked out the menu at the Level snack bar. WOW!! So many choices and we were never disappointed. We had cheeseburgers, poutine fries, greek salad, pizza and so many other yummy meals. Be prepared to smell and inhale cigarette smoke at the 24 hour snack bar. There are a few open sections of the walls which helps the wind flow however you can clearly smell the smoke. Great for smokers but a turn off for non-smokers. Smokers had the freedom to light up anywhere they wanted to in the main lobby as well. This is the main reason that we'll probably not return to MCR. The Level had an awesome Cuban Day buffet in the Level restaurant Cape Neo. We ate eggs benedict every morning. They were good but be prepared for inconsistently cooked eggs. The whites were either too runny or the yolks were overcooked. We ate supper at the Level Cape Neo three evenings. The menu never changed unfortunately so we looked forward to having supper at the a la cartes for the other four evenings. No complaints for the a la cartes. The staff and food were amazing. To sum up the food, I don't think we would have been happy eating breakfast and lunch at the family side for the entire week. The upcharge for the Level was $1,200.00 for the two of us which was somewhat worth it. The Level lounge was ok, a bit boring at times. I wouldn't say that the drinks were outstanding. The bartenders were friendly and excited to serve at the Level lounge and at the Level beach bar (Buddy's bar). The main lobby had more going on however the wait time to get served at the bar was ridiculous. People butting in line, bartenders not paying attention to people who were there first. I didn't seem like think they had table service. The Sports bar is extremely small with zero bar service. I had gone into the Cigar bar for a margarita as someone in the FB group said that was the best place to order one. The bartender insisted that I buy a cigar and smoke it in order for him to make me a margarita. I told him that I didn't smoke however he insisted a second time. I couldn't believe it. The bartender had a bit of a pissy attitude but I finally got a margarita. It was barely drinkable and not worth the hassling. All the bars were intermittently out of ice throughout the week. The Level side always had cold 'Three Horses' beer in the can and Buddy would send out his bar helper to the beach to get drink orders from the Level guests. The main lobby never had champagne however the Level lounge always had some. Be aware that the bars tend to close 15 to 30 minutes sooner that the displayed time. There wasn't enough shaded seating by the Level side pool. I think there were 6 or 8 wooden bed loungers which were reserved with towels before 6:00am. It was extremely windy at the beach so sitting in a shaded bed lounger by the pool would have been nice but it was impossible. The hotel should install some umbrellas to provide shade for the guests that sit in the regular lounge chairs. If it's super windy at the beach, sit in the back row by the dunes as it really makes a difference. There are no washrooms close to the beach on either the Level or the family side. For the Level side, the washrooms are between the 24 hour snack bar and Cape Neo or at the Level lounge or you can go to your room. For the family side, the closest public washroom is at the 24 hour snack bar. My husband said that the urinals were plugged and the urine smell was disgusting. The ladies washroom was half decent with multiple stalls. Would we return? If the price was good and the Level upgrade charge wasn't ridiculous, we might. We prefer the resort next door as they have strict rules on where people can smoke. The beach palapas are separated by no smoking and smoking allowed. They offer table service in the main lobby.

Melia Internacional: Great Resort & Service

The one week vacation was fantastic. Let me give a shout out to Dario the general manager at the resort. Extremely friendly and polite, he ensured that we had a great week at the adults only section. I found the food to be 10/10 for cuba, we had restaurant reservations and it was spot on. we actually had filet mignon that tasted outstanding. The hotel was busy but they have many sitting areas in the shade, lots of restaurants and bars. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: The grounds are beautiful, but not a great vacation

I want to start by saying I have travelled to Cuba many times, I love it and know what to expect. This time, was sadly the worse. Stayed June 5 to June 12. 4 adults, 2 young hearted seniors and 1 with disabilities in a wheelchair. This resort is not wheelchair accessible. They do have lifts but they never worked. It’s a massive resort. The man on the golf cart was great but waiting for him usually took anywhere from 30-75 minutes because of “Cuban time”. The grounds are very well kept and the resort is beautiful however it is cockroach infested. Not just in the rooms but even running on our table at dinner time. The food is Cuba, but after the cockroaches we really didn’t want to eat much. Thankfully we brought lots of snacks! The beach is beautiful but the chairs and huts are so far back from the water. The pool is nice but only 2 feet deep so you can sit but not swim in it. That was a bummer. The drinks were plentiful and yummy. Staff did their best to help our vacation be good, but I won’t return. We did a sunwing vacation, had to pay $70 each for checked bags, plus the flight attendant on the way back to Toronto spilled boiling water on my neck and face then was mad at me for mentioning it. We made the best of it, but I don’t recommend for anyone looking for something small. This is a massive resort with plenty of walking. Not great for people who arent able to walk and explore. For the price we paid, you can pay much less and get way better in Cuba.

Sol Varadero Beach: Love this resort

This is my second time in a year. Very friendly staff in every service they submit. I am grateful for a friend of mine who suggested to try it and I did and now I am not thinking to go somewhere else.

Melia Cayo Coco: RELAX RELAX RELAX

4 times at the MELIA CAYO COCO, hotel is well kept, food is good and staff is great. Ground’s keeper keep the areas clean and neat. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The beach is amazing. We will be returning.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Avoid at all costs!

The food was the worst I've ever had in about 40 all inclusive resorts. No chicken our entire stay. Most dinner items come out of a can or processed package. At the buffet they don't even turn on the steam tables, so hot food goes right into a cold tray. Likewise with the drinks - 1/5. Lots of rum and whisky if that's your thing. No gin, vodka, limes, mint. None of the bar staff know how to make a cocktail, and the correct mixes for a cocktail don't exist. Staff have given up, but,  [... read more]there's always a hidden gem with a smile if they are not on their phones.. The beach - the water is nice, blue, and warm. The sand portion is awful. Full of dead sea grass and sea weed. The beach portion is not maintained at all. Pools - well kept and nice.

Sol Palmeras: Won’t go anywhere else!

This was my 8th visit there, and it never fails to impress. There is always something better to keep me coming back. The grounds are huge, and the resort is beautiful. The facilities, unlike just about any other hotel, are always being kept up to date and renovated. Although the hotel is 35 years old, you would never know it. The staff is unprecedented with its attention to the customers. It would be crazy to try anywhere else when in Varadero.

Sol Varadero Beach: Had fun..?

It was much better than I expected. The beach is amazing and the proximity to the shops and the beatles bar is a great plus. The food was good and the drinks were decent. The rooms were kept clean and the air-conditioning was working just enough to keep the room cool. It was overall a good choice. I would go back.

Melia Varadero: Amazing family friendly resort , beautiful beach!

What can I say? The staff was beyond amazing and friendly, the resort was spotless and well appointed. Rooms- clean and air conditioned! Food- great selection (especially for CUBA) with extra things like condiments ! The A la cartes where pretty good but if you didn’t like it could always hit the buffet but be advised you need to get up very early (8 am on Saturday)to book your A la carte reservations for the week Kids club- our daughter was 14 months and too young to be left but the staff  [... read more]were amazing and she enjoyed playing there with other kids and the staff adored her. It’s a good safe place with AC and do different things for the kids everyday Entertainment- we only went to Cuban night on the Wednesday but it was so cool, great outdoor buffet, classic cars , professional dancers and performers ! The other nights was late for us 945 as we had the baby so I can’t comment Pools- we’re cleaned everyday and never a shortage of loungers around the pool THE BEACH- wow all I can say is so clean so beautiful and never a shortage of beach chairs ! And super accessible from the resort we could even walk our stroller directly down to the sand it’s approx a 2-3 min walk from the resort Things to note: bring your own travel cups and water bottle for drinks as the flimsy paper cups are annoying Bring lots of sunscreen And also bring. A little fan as well

Hi, The Paradisus Princeca del Mar is very beautiful and wonderful resort. It has a beautiful and clear water at the beach and wonderful pool. People are friendly and kind. Room is very good and get clean every day.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Girls Trip 2025

Best start to vacationing is a short bus ride to the resort after a long day of travel! The only thing I missed was those who couldn’t make the trip. Beach was beautiful. Staff was great. The things that could have been better were out of anyone’s control! Well done.

The beach is beautiful, the rooms were very comfortable. The staff go out of their way to make your stay memorable. The resort is a nice size and very easy to get around other than the walk to the beach but it is sooo worth it once you are there.

This was a great resort it was a smaller resort which I really like. A group of 6 ladies went on this trip the beach was very nice there are quite a lot of stairs going to the beach but it also has a smooth walking path if you can’t do stairs. There is a nice restaurant on the beach with a bar so you don’t have to go to the buffet for lunch it is sit down and you are served the staff are so lovely.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Different-Not for seniors!

Upon arrival, no greeting or refreshment as at other resorts. Room-up 4 steps w/o railing into building, Then 2 steps from floor with bed down to living area and patio door! Hot tub-NO handrail!! Walkways good and mostly level No information received about the resort or it's events!!! 12 hr excursion was over 13 hrs and was not able to keep reserved supper reservation!! Bus and walking excursions not suitable for seniors. No assistance on or off the bus at any time throughout visit!! On  [... read more]excursion there were people hanging around asking for $. At no point did bus driver or tour guide stop them from harrassing us!! VIP lounge at airport was included in an excursion-poor snacks, alcohol but no mix for it. Was not told what else was available. Exculator going up but had to do stairs going down. Hard to find seats to wait for plane as people had their bags on the seats. No one willing to allow 2 seniors a seat!!! Fitness area and spa quite a ways away. Would have liked to exercise every day. Had to go down a number of stairs for massage. Limping all the way!! Had to use a number of my Canadian credit cards to pay for massage. Kept being told not approved! Even tried a different machine. Thanks for blocking the cards that I tried!!!xxx We are both over 70, my husband is 86!! Unable to go down to beack as for walkway!! It was so humid that feet & legs swollen very badly!!
