Carisol los Corales: The people is what made it amazing!!!

We arrived at the hotel ready for a great week. Well it started off not so great. They did not have our reservation so we were moved to the adjoining resort. We were suppose to have adjoining rooms, we ended up being 5 bungalows apart. We were upset at first but We made the best of it with what was given to us. The pools were great the beach was nice. Some seaweed but there were areas we could swim. But what made our trip was the wonderful entertainment staff. These 6 men got us involved in ever [... read more]ything. Made sure we were happy the whole entire time. They started at 10am and were right there at the disco till 2am. Those men would be the only reason we would return to this resort. The food was the usual for Cuba. I didnt starve. Fruit, eggs, and pizza and pasta.

Carisol los Corales: Worst Vacation Ever !!!!!

We have been to Cuba 12 times and fully understand the economic profile of the country. We are usually very patient and have never made a complaint about any of the resorts........until now. The Carisol los Corales on the Club Amigo side needs to be investigated and shut down. So many lies on their webside it's hard to decide where to begin. First of all the resort is not a 3 star... It barely makes a 2. It is not 1/2 an hour from the airport... It's over an hour (depending how much livestock is [... read more] on the road). The food at this resort is the same every day ! Some of the staff are nice...the rest act like they hate their jobs. No phones in the rooms. No smoke detector or wall lights in our room. My daughter was verbally assaulted on 2 accounts..My wife both verbally and physically assaulted. There is a prostitution ring run at the resort (not sure if the resort controls it but they stand by and watch it happen). My 14 year old daughter's verbal assault assault came in the form of a sexual proposition made by one of the resort staff. He tried to lure her back to his room/accommodation. We spoke to numerous other guests at this resort and had a variety of other complaints themselves. One couple had no water the entire week they were there. Nor would their room door stay shut even when they locked it. Most of the grounds and pathways are unlit and a number of people took falls on the uneven surfaces. In conclusion we cannot in good faith recommend this resort and are even considering contacting our lawyer to try and get a full refund at the very least.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful Resort

Lots of improvements. They are working hard to update everything. Food is very good. Could use some benches as there is a lot of walking. This would free up the golf carts more. Will certainly return.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great first time visit

This was my first time going to Cuba. My boyfriend had previously been at this resort years ago so we were excited to go. When we booked we booked a standard room. I highly suggest you book nothing less of a bungalow because the standard rooms are NOT nice at all. Our room had 2 twin beds and we had no toilet seat in our bathroom. The room itself was super dungey looking. We upgraded to a bungalow and were very happy with the different it made. If you’re looking for a fridge in your room you should book a villa (they’re much nicer then the standard and bungalow). What you can do is book a standard room online and when you get to the resort you can ask to upgrade your room. It’s much cheaper to do this in cuba rather then online. You’ll spend $20 as opposed to $200. The customer service at the front desk was awful. The ladies working were very rude and were not helpful. When we told them about having no toilet seat they said they’ll have someone repair it in 2 days... As a female i need a toilet seat so I then asked for a room change. They were very rude and not people friendly. When we originally checked in we were told our room was not finished. But our room was done as we had a gentlemen call the maid and help us to our room. Besides the poor customer service the resort itself is beautiful!!! After switching to a bungalow room we had no issues.

Carisol los Corales: Beautiful resort

Before visiting Carisol Los Corales, I had read probably over 200 reviews to prepare myself. A lot of the reviews had me extremely worried - from bad food, to tons of mosquitoes and even one guy complaining they didn't have pepper. I was honestly amazed by how wonderful everything was for the cheap price we paid. Myself and those I traveled with were honestly questioning how they even make money with how much we received for our money spent. There's such a wide range of food available that it's impossible to not find a lot of things you'll like - but the part that I think most people have trouble with is trying new things. I had read reviews and heard verbal reviews from family and friends stating that you do not go to Cuba for the food or the desserts, but I was amazed to find that I thoroughly enjoyed almost everything. Their ice cream is in my opinion better than most in Canada, and their beef stew was DELICIOUS - and that's coming from a girl who grew up on a beef cattle farm. They had a wide range of excursions available for the visitors, so you don't just sit at the resort the whole time - although I kind of wish I spent more time sitting at the resort because it was absolutely beautiful. There are pools with pool bars that you can swim up to on both sides of the resort. The ocean in between is fantastic. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was rare to see any unhappy visitors (I only saw one lady who was grumpy, but I think she was just a naturally grumpy old lady). The only thing I honestly had a hard time with was all the animals - a lot of them are healthy and happy, but a lot of the dogs do have fleas and other clear issues. There was one dog who clearly had mange, and another extremely skinny cat who I believe had worms. I found out recently that there are a lot of people looking out for her though, and she received treatment, cleaning and healthy food etc. I would recommend bringing whatever you can to help the animals (healthy treats, medication of any sort) especially if you are an animal lover. I could go on and on but those are the basics. The resort is beautiful and I'd definitely visit again, I'd just be more prepared next time. :) P.S. There is pepper, it's just white pepper. I wasn't bit by bugs at all, even without wearing any sort of bug repellent at any point.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Wonderful two weeks at Memories Caribe Beach Resort

We travelled to Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca Monday February 4 from Toronto. I had done a lot of research with help from this Facebook page – specifically with respect to the ‘no-see-ums’ and rooms (very happy with our Ocean side Villa). Our first couple of days, we were extremely disappointed with the lunch and dinner at the main buffet. Russian prison food is the only way we could describe it. Flavorless, cold and visually pure yuck. We were not happy. We had found Benny More’s [... read more] for lunch on day two and went every day at 8 a.m. for the rest of our Stay. Janet, Marie-Helen, Griesy and the rest of the ladies provided wonderful service and delicious food. The pool-side bar, we enjoyed hamburgers and fries and lovely beverages. Emilio (waiter) and Milaro (Chef) and Vegetation hosted us 4 times and always delicious and wonderful service. Valentines day dinner @ Benny More’s (thank you Romney) was fabulous and we loved the violin. We enjoyed lobster with shrimp at La Spada and lovely service from Yadia and Onelvis. We discovered the 2nd buffet near Brisas and it was a wonderful revelation – cooks cared, food was hot, cooked to order – thank you to Mompie, Elizabeth and Emilio (cook) who made us feel welcome. We had a lovely night tour on a horse drawn carriage, courtesy of Rui and his lovely mare. Went to the aboriginal village and enjoyed their presentation – had a tour of a village school, and a farm (thank you Victor and guide Janet) Room was clean and comfortable – beaches accessible and water lovely. Wished more pools would be open. We avoid poolside bars – but there was enough water available. We had pizza at Rico’s – delicious and fabulous service from Alberto. We have been to Cuba 3 times, love the people and we will likely return. Drawbacks? Did get some bug bites, however not as many as before, the Avon Skin so Soft made a huge difference. Too many smokers (including in a couple of restaurants), however not enough to make us not want to return. Two lovely weeks later we sadly left our lovely room.

Hotel Caracol: Better than I though

Great hotel ,rooms new clean and lots of hot water. All of the staff went out of there way to make our holiday great most spoke some English. The food most nights was pretty good with a surprise out side barbecue of pork chops and chicken.The grounds were well kept ,with the beach kept well groomed .Jeniffer always informing us all the activities and events going on during the day.The bar drinks were OK ,lots of cold beer ,service was fast and always smiling.The pool clean all the time ,but the  [... read more]liner is in need of replacement as it has a few tears! Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Had a great time!

We had a great time at Club Amigo. The staff from servers to housekeeping and ground keepers were amazing. They made you feel so at home. Always a smile and a laugh. The beach was beautiful. And weather was great!

Carisol los Corales: I will go back again and again. Totally loved it.

The hotel was immaculately clean and the staff were unbelievably respectful and kind. The rebuilding of this resort after all of the years of storms was impressive and said a great deal about the pride of the Cuban people. We were catered to with everything we could possibly ask for; good food, great cooks and waiters/waitresses. Great room, fantastic bar tenders and unbelievable entertainers and entertainment staff. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Amazing week

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The pool and beach areas are very clean. The cleaning staff cleaned the rooms daily and supplied whatever was needed. Met a lot of very nice people and had a great time.

When I go back again. I wish to stay there. The people in the motel were absolutely beautiful, and helped as much as they could. The location of the pool to the location of the ocean was perfect. Can't ask for a better location.

Went for our 10 year wedding anniversary and had nothing but problems, the room door wouldn’t even shut, the bathroom faucet came off in our hands! Moved 3 times and then finally ended up next to the entertainment stage and it played TIL midnight! The staff was non existent , the buffet was repetitive even to the point of recycling lunch to dinner, Benny’s restaurant was a great place to eat there and the beach was awesome but it’s such a large resort with completely tired rooms that the w [... read more]alk to everything was rediculius. Some wait staff were above and beyond at the ala cartes, but they book up fast and some people didn’t even get theirs! And our wedding renewal was a complete loss! Such a disappointment and not at all what was pictured, and when we left our luggage in the luggage room the day we left our luggage was robbed and we lost items so please beware!

The staff at Club Amigo make you feel welcome and like long time friends from the moment you walk into the lobby. The resort is clean, the beaches amazing, bars and restaurants are good. Great choice

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Very nice resort

Quality of alcohol drinks weren't good , entertainment in the evening was very nice with having guests participating with dancers. Resort was kept clean and food variety and quality and service was very good.

Hotel Caracol: Very good resort

Very nice hotel for the money. Good service. Very good entertainment. Staff was very friendly. The one complaint I had was the room safe did not work and was forced to pay for one ar the desk for duration of stay for the week.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: I love this resort.

Everything and Everyone is so helpful. The grounds were kept nice. Entertainment was great. Food is getting better. The beach is beautiful. We have been going for 15 years now and will go again. Have meant a lot of friends.

Went with my husband and another couple. We had a bungalow room on arrival but did not have the best experience situated where we were, very close to the road and there wasn't an appropriate patio place. We went to the lobby the following morning and were given the opportunity to upgrade to adjoining rooms in the villa section, yes please!! It was totally worth it, we had ocean view rooms for very little $$. My friends did not have a toilet seat but we did. The water temp in the shower was  [... read more]a bit spotty during busy times but we did get hot water for the most part. The weather was phenomenal while we were there. This resort has something for everyone, it's very spread out. There is a party pool close to the main hotel and a quieter pool in the villa section. (part of that pool was closed for repairs). The pool in the bungalow section looked nice, if we were in a different bungalow, we probably would have stayed there quite happily! We didn't have a problem with the food offerings, again, there is something for everyone. The buffet in the main restaurant was busy but the buffet in the bungalow area was perfect. El Benny was our preferred breakfast destination, we ate there every morning! The staff was friendly and gals at the front desk were helpful. Guest services provided a couple of perks which was very much appreciated. The grounds were well kept and the beaches are amazing. I would totally come back again, we enjoyed our holiday at Club Amigo.

J'ai aimé ce resort car l'ambiance est accueillante et familière. C'est propre, superbe plage et on y mange bien. Ce que je n'ai pas aimé...pas de frigo dans mon bungalow comme annoncé dans les publicités. À part celà...rien à redire. J'en ai profité pour aller chez le très gentil et professionnel dentiste Miguel Rodriquez et 2 pairs de lunettes prescrites à Holguín. Que demander de plus... J'y retournerai....ça c'est certain! Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: One of the best resorts I have stayed.

I would take a cabin room next time. Ala cart restaurants are only booked on sundays. Guest arriving after this date will only have the buffet restaurants. Scuba is only offered on a Monday.
