Blau Privilege Cayo Libertad: Awesome time at this resort!
We stayed at this resort from April 2nd to April 9th. From reading reviews before we left I was a bit apprehensive in booking, some are good and some are bad reviews. Upon arriving at 4 am, we had read on a previous review to get dropped off at the main Blau marina resort as they would shuttle us over to Blau cayo, if the bus drops you at Blau cayo you will have to come back by golf cart and check in. Glad we read about this here previously.. whew! The driver didn't know this... The resort is [... read more]
Muthu Colonial Hotel: Good laid back resort
Older resort definitely showing its age but the staff are amazing and try very hard, grounds are very good and rooms are comfortable just wish for once I could get a room with a nicer view😥,was only disappointed with the cook for the 24 hour snack bar he seemed put out when you asked him for anything and spent most his time on the phone,he said he only had ham sandwiches one night and kept putting up a sign saying he was closed,I complained to the front desk and they said a manager was on [... read more]
Punta Peninsula Varadero: the resort was nice
the workers were awesome ..friendly and always there to help with anything..the rooms were semi clean ...one evening after watching the shows went back to room turned on the lights and there was a rat in the room almost scared me to death ..went to front desk to tell that we would like another room they did nothing for a day and a half not until the rep went and spoke to them ....my husband and we're besides ourself at how they did nothing ...we later changed rooms supposed to have went to anoth [... read more]
Punta Peninsula Varadero: Disappointing
Don't tip big right at the start because they will forget and avoid you. Food is disgusting in the buffets, but the restaurants were fabulous. The lighthouse claimed to serve food 24/7 except they ran out of it very quickly. They would let you sit there for 20 mins before serving you and when I tried to order from the kitchen personally I got shoo'd away. Phones didn't work. Wi-Fi barely worked. They didn't change my bedsheets from the previous tourists (they smelled horrid). They gave me an ope [... read more]
Punta Peninsula Varadero: Beautiful Beach, Beautiful People BUT Won't Go Back
Don't get me wrong, we are not fussy people. I have travelled to Cuba more than 25 times. I know what to expect. They don't spray for bugs. They are everywhere and bug spray did not seem to help. In the lobby, in the room, around the pool. EVERYWHERE. This resort could be so good. They are so understaffed it is unbelievable. The snack bar with about 20 tables has ONE waitress. The waiters in the buffet have about 20 tables each. I would not back to this resort.
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Blau epicness
Blau was a beautiful resort with very friendly staff and awesome scenery. The tours outside of the resort and city of Holquin were great as well. The snorkelling off the main beach was also amazing. So many fish and epic coral. Highly recommendable for travelers looking for authentic Cuban feel.
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Love love love
The staff made my trip! I loved making friends with your team:) I did not stay in the plus side though I think I enjoyed the "older" side more! More my style! The gardens are beautiful. The pool is so fun! And the beach was amazing out and in the water xo thank you so much for having us!
Muthu Colonial Hotel: Nice resort!
This resort was a blast !! to start off the food was amazing, and service at the buffet was exceptionally great. The staff especially Yanietsy made great effort to keep the customers happy. The rooms where large in size and the atmosphere was great. A couple of days we didn't have hot running water but seeing as we where sun burnt we didn't have any need for hot water :) the beach was very big and wide and had an abundance of beach chairs.
Muthu Colonial Hotel: Disapointing at Hotel Colonial
We had been to this resort a couple of times previously. The facility has deteriorated badly. Our room was not too bad, but we had problems with no water for showers and when there was water, the pressure was very low, which made taking a shower a chore. The grounds were not in great shape. Much of the walkaways were very uneven. When coming back from the beach, we could not find any water taps to rinse the sand off our feet. The food was very monotonous. Sometime if there was somethi [... read more]
Punta Peninsula Varadero: Fun for the Family
First off, great beach and location to the beach. Amazing Lobby Bar, quick check in, and except-able rooms. Nothing over the top but for the money it was a good choice. The food was typical but fine for all. I would travel to Blau Marina again.
Muthu Colonial Hotel: Beautiful Quiet Resort
Absolutely amazing quiet resort. Loved the Spanish architecture. It was my second time to Cuba and this time was 100% better than the first. It was my wife's first time in Cuba and she loved it. The buffet breakfast and lunch and dinner are fantastic. We preferred to eat at the buffets or the El Yarey grill for lunch drinks and pizza and fries and chicken. The a la cartes need to be updated along with the menu's as we didn't enjoy the food at all. The staff at the resort are so friendly an [... read more]
Muthu Colonial Hotel: Needs improvement
The beach was beautiful well maintained half of the time other times quite a bit of sea weed on the sand. The room was big but dated beds were uncomfortably hard and the shower curtain let all the water through it and we had to be careful not to slip through out the washroom as it was soaked . The bathtub also had no plug and upon arrival to the room the toilet said it was hygentically cleand but when lifted the lid it had pee on the seat from previous people. Food was awful and repetative an us [... read more]
Blau Varadero: Fantastic Resort
Grounds were lovely, entertainment at the main bar and piano bar was amazing, and the food was great. The staff were exceptional! The rooms will need some renovation soon, but were comfortable and clean. Would definitely consider staying here again.
Punta Peninsula Varadero: Satisfactory
Overall, we were satisfied with the resort. It was located in a wonderful area, with a Marina right across the road which was open to the public and contained a bowling alley which I noticed many people with kids took advantage of, also a grocery store and many smaller boutiques. A great area for browsing if you wanted to leave the resort for a short time. The WiFi at the resort was sporadic so most people went over to the Marina to access their NET. There was a problem with their laundry, [... read more]
Muthu Colonial Hotel: Great People! but less than desirable hotel
The Hotel Colonial Cayo Coco is definitely showing her age but she has character. If you look for the positive, then it is it's people and the beach. From Rui, our beach bar enthusiast who played beach volleyball with the kids; to Yoel, our bartender in the Piano Lounge inside the Italian eatery who loved to talk and share his passions about Cuba; our gardener friends, Janier and Vincente, who desperately tried to communicate and show their hospitality with token gifts and coconuts; to our ro [... read more]
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Lucky to not be with the S Trippers!
Excellent food and very friendly staff. Most activities seemed fun, although we only attended a few due to some rainy weather. Tiles are very slippery when wet and I noticed a few injuries. Students claimed a section of the beach but were only obnoxious on a few occasions. I heard they trashed one of the buildings far away from us. I hope not because the resort was very well maintained on our end. Nice beach and the pool for Blau plus was reat!
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Good resort for March break
Second time at Blau, very good resort. Food was better, Paul was great, entertainment was not as good as two years ago, Rome was fine, drinks Were fine. Overall a very good stay and I would recommend this resort
Punta Peninsula Varadero: A great resort to relax and have fun at.
The rooms were clean and good service from the cleaning staff with our lady folding the towels into animal ears etc. The food was good and plenty of variety. The beach great especially for kids and shade for those who wanted that. Fresh pineapple with a straw was delicious. The pools were good especially because they were not too deep for the kids and the water slide was a hit. WiFi not great but a good time to be off-line for a week. Washrooms clean as well.
Punta Peninsula Varadero: Great trip, great people, good resort
Beautiful beaches, food was surprisingly good despite what most people say about Cuban food! Only complaint was that every night, our legs would get bitten alive when we went to bed.. don't know if there were bed bugs or what.. but it seemed to happen to a lot of people at the resort. Not a bad resort for singles, but it was definitely family dominated, which I don't mind, but it's not for a crazy wild time if that's what you're looking for. However, they started to build a mini DJ dance flo [... read more]
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: It was a great resort.
This was a great hotel. Yes I would recommend it. The only problem was the shortage of beach chairs and also, we didn't like the stray cats hanging around. They weren't really a bother, just didn't like it.
